I would also like to hear the recipe for a burning tart, please!

Well mrs not in bed until 10:30 and woken at 7am was an emotional wreck come 6pm tonight. Fingers crossed she sleeps peacefully and coped a bit better tomorrow.

We hit the soft play at 9:30 this morning and were the first in bar the cleaners. They were playing soul music - it was actually quite fun!

Visit to CM this afternoon - initial weeping and wailing followed by good fun. Going to leave her for a couple of hours on Wednesday

GTbaby · 11/08/2014 20:50

Wanda event moaning has moved to FB. Angry

Wandathewindfairy · 11/08/2014 21:38

Ah well. pr please don't flambé me. pr may have a more authentic better method. However I have made two takes in it this weekend both going down well. So on
Saturday I......

Made some pizza dough and wibbled out a base. On that I spread creme fraiche (the recipe says add nutmeg but not sure how boys would take that so I omitted it) then, on the creme fraiche I sprinkled some thinly sliced onions that I had sautéed in butter, so soft but not coloured. I topped this with a scattering of ham ( supposed to be fried bacon lardons but I had a glut of leftover ham) then all smothered in a load of grated gruyere. Baked in oven for 5 mins till bubbling and yum.

Today I did similar but on a puff pastry base as I had leftover from yesterday's chicken and ham pie.

It really is super yum. And very easy.

YellowWellies · 11/08/2014 21:44

Sounds lush! But as I'd suspected utterly unsuitable for dairy free bears. Bugger!

BigPigLittlePig · 11/08/2014 21:59

Totes emosh bedtime here too. Horrific nappies and wind today so who knows what's up in little pigs tummy.

Yawn.

2 minutes to bedtime.

PetiteRaleuse · 11/08/2014 22:24

Sounds about right wanda I always buy it ready made from the baker, like my quiche

But creme fraiche, onions and bacon are the main ingredients on a thin pizza base. Some people add emmenthal or even v thinly sliced potatoes. Will have a look out for other variations.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 12/08/2014 07:09

Its dd's first day at school today. I would have much preferred not being woken by J at 4.30am! He ended up in our bed at 5.30am and up for the day at 6.30am. I now have far far too long to get dd ready for school. Can't decide whether to walk or take the car. It's damp and rainy looking but not soaking. We're about a 15 min walk away so easily walkable but I don't want pictures of us all like drowned rats!

Pikz · 12/08/2014 07:55

Good luck today izzy! Can't wait to see pics!

Elizadoesdolittle · 12/08/2014 08:54

Good luck to your DD izzy. Still 3 weeks to go for my DD but the holidays are flying by so can't complain.

Today we are going to Eltham Palace. Despite living 20mins away I've never been so looking forward to it.

E has become obsessed with colouring and painting. She calls it eeee eeeee eeee for some reason.

misslaughalot · 12/08/2014 09:48

Good luck to your DD Izzy

Sorry to all those having rubbish nights but a little boast, O slept through last night for the first time in 6 weeks wahooooooo! I have this week off work and with O at nursery today I'm off out for a catchup lunch with my best friend who has now had 5 failed attempts at IVF and should hopefully have started the adoption process last week. Makes you realise how lucky we all are.

Passmethecrisps · 12/08/2014 19:41

Gosh, quiet day today. Hope your visit was good miss. Adoption is such a wonderful yet challenging thing to do - best of luck to them.

Today has been lovely - lots of playing and being told "mummy, sit down!". It would be rude not too.

Bit weird though and I feel odd even typing it. Robin Williams and my dad were total spitting images - even their personalities were very similar. It has been very strange seeing my FB newsfeed full of pictures of him - I have become quite tearful at times which is daft. We all had a soft spot for him in my family because of this similarity and I think we are all feeling it. I wonder if I could find a picture which would explain it.

PetiteRaleuse · 12/08/2014 20:26

Robin Williams was an example to me of an alcoholic who was a good person (unlike my dad, to give context). I am v sad at the news. Always had hope that he would beat his depression demons. Spent a long time watching videos of him on youtube today. He looked like a sad person.

Kyz · 12/08/2014 21:26

Hope dd had a good day today izzy!

I've been rubbish at posting this Fred, sorry guys.

So sad to hear of Robin Williams passing away, he was brilliant, and i have very fond memories of watching films with him in as a child. Tonight I have Aladdin on, and I don't recall ever crying at Aladdin before :(

BigPigLittlePig · 12/08/2014 22:30

Bleurgh.

That is all.

Pass, any chance of an off-schedule sleepy dust flight, for babies and mummies?

Hope dd had a fab day at school, Izzy. Not sure I remember miwne. I so know I was totally gutted to miss a few days with the pox, as they were learning about dinosaurs Smile

StuntNun · 12/08/2014 22:41

Does CP start with a rash on the torso that then goes blistery?

OP posts:
YellowWellies · 12/08/2014 23:01

Stunt yes it does. Should blister in 12-48 hours. Fingers crossed he has only a mild dusting xx

Lily311 · 13/08/2014 06:28

Morning,

At my brother's currently, staying till fir than back to best friend's place till we leave. What on earth is going on with the weather here??? Just too cold and too wet, it's august after all.

Will post more once back in Hungary.

StuntNun · 13/08/2014 06:33

Thanks YW. I've checked round and all the children J has played with lately have already had chicken pox so I don't have to worry about him infecting others. He had a high temperature last week and was generally cranky and out of sorts then yesterday a rash appeared all over his torso and nappy area. No sling meet for us today then. I'm still waiting for DS2 to get it. All his close friends had CP last term but DS2 escaped unscathed. I'm wondering whether he's immune. Can you get immunity to chicken pox through non-symptomatic infection the way you can with hand, food, mouth?

OP posts:
Elizadoesdolittle · 13/08/2014 08:31

lily think you missed the British summer. it was very weird weather yesterday, boiling hot and sunny one minute then cold and raining the next.

StuntNun · 13/08/2014 08:35

Summer is scheduled for September once the kids are back in school.

J's rash has spread to his face. DS2 is still spot-free.

Wandathewindfairy · 13/08/2014 08:40

Yay I won't pack anything away just yet then!

I am slowly changing our morning routine to get DS1 ready for starting in reception. I was planning on stopping tv in the morning and this morning they came down and went straight into the playroom so I though I might as well start today.

No tv till after breakfast and dressed. Worked really well.

I am also going to try and wean them off cereals for breakfast. Did anyone see the alternative breakfasts thread the other day. I am going to do an alternative every other day for the mo, so this morning they had cheese on toast. Which went down ok.

Now I just need to deliver them to Nanny's and start glossing. Bleurgh.

Hope you managed some sleep bp

Passmethecrisps · 13/08/2014 10:13

Good work wanda!

I hope wee J doesn't suffer too much stunt

P is spending a couple of hours at the CM just now to re-settle her. Tearful drop off but she managed to wave and say bye bye so all considered not too bad

YellowWellies · 13/08/2014 12:52

Stunt yes approximately 10% of kids get CP with no rash. So if he at one point had an unexplained fever / crankiness it could be that he's already had it?

Lily311 · 13/08/2014 16:21

Do you have link to the thread wanda. O gets porridge or weetabix for breakfast and I'm so sick of it. Back at my brother's , they are at work. Enjoying cbeebies right now.

Lily311 · 13/08/2014 16:31

Can anyone tell me where I can get fleece welly socks for cheap? Hunters are £10 :(.
