Responding to the title, I'm not really a lurker as I gave up trying to keep up on here ages ago but I chip in on the Fb group pretty frequently.

G is growing up fast and is saying 2-3 word phrases a lot now. She is full of character and cheekyness, which I love. She loves going to nursery 2 days a week and worships her grandma.

We have been ttc #2 since April 2013 but sadly nothing yet. We EBF and I only dropped the last feed in December but it still feels like we've been trying forever. I had an early mc in late January which totally knocked me for six and I'm still sobbing every month when AF arrives. Went to the GP last week and they're going to start the ball rolling with bloods for checking fertility issues. I'm so scared that I'm never going to be pregnant again and that G won't have any siblings. We really wanted a short age gap but I guess you can't control these things.

I love seeing everyone's photos on fb and seeing how everyone is getting on. Thanks quiche

ValiumQueen · 26/07/2014 07:16

BP I think if you get pg on a fixed term contract they extend it to cover Mat leave, but it depends how long you have been employed by them. I may be wrong. Not caught up properly, sorry x

Pikz · 26/07/2014 08:12

Arrrrrghhhh fucking husband. Grrrr just on another planet to the rest of us today.

BigPigLittlePig · 26/07/2014 08:18

Brew morning lovelies.

I can't find pussypig Confused

Passmethecrisps · 26/07/2014 09:24

Oh noes Sad

BigPigLittlePig · 26/07/2014 10:21

He's back, phew.

Today feels like it's going to be a loooooooong day Hmm

GTbaby · 26/07/2014 10:58

Mil "if you put A To sleep at 7pm then he is going to wake up at 4am"
Fh insists she didn't say it in a rude way. Just a general comment. I don't see how that can be taken as anything but a criticism

GTbaby · 26/07/2014 13:41

Hellooooooo

StuntNun · 26/07/2014 15:29

Meh.

I'm having a groundhog day here. Limpet fevered virus baby is velcroed to me. Day two. DH has built him a sandpit but he's too poorly to try it out. Thankfully his temperature has gone down from 40.2c to 39c. He's developed an attachment to a fluffy blanket we haven't used since he was tiny. And his chat orders now includes the phrase "calpol and blanket peeeeease" Hmm

GTbaby · 26/07/2014 19:11

Quite day here. Hope your al enjoying the sun.

Lily311 · 26/07/2014 19:31

We went to a botanical garden, was lovely. But o didn't nap so the afternoon was a disaster. She is in bed now and I have cider.

Passmethecrisps · 26/07/2014 20:17

Evening all.

Gosh, it sounds like everyone needs some medicinal Wine and Cake

gt I suppose I would consider a) does A go to bed at 7pm and if so does he wake at 4am? b) does this bother you? C) does it have any impact on her life?

If the answer to c is 'no' then I would ignore completely. She has opinions and is entitled to hold them but you are a grown up mother of 2. You know what you are doing so let her have her piece and move on.

How is the little koala this evening yw? It sounds like he has been really unwell. Poor soul. That temperature in this heat must have been unbearable.

I am glad you have cider lily? Any other plans for the evening?

The BBQ we were supposed to be attending has been postponed which was a shame. It os being hosted by friends who have been back in the uk visiting for a couple of months but who probably won't be back. It is a shame as DH was friends with the man at work and I met his wife and baby totally independently at a toddler group. We are having them over for an early dinner tomorrow though which will be nice.

P has been uncomfortable and sneezing badly for days to the extent where is gave her piriton last night. Today I noticed crusty yellowy snot and was a bit perplexed. Then tonight at dinner she did a massive sneeze and out came a mint leaf! She is obsessed with the mint bush in the garden and she must have over enthusiastically sniffed and ended up with a pretty large chunk up her nose. I noticed yesterday that she was playing with a black currant she had plucked and ran in laughing like a drain because she had stuffed it in her ear.

We are going to spend time in A&E getting stuff sucked out her orifices aren't we?

The rain has started and I must say it is lovely. The weather has been beautiful and I am actually quite tanned for the first time ever but I am a temperate girl

Elizadoesdolittle · 26/07/2014 20:18

Lots of fun in the sun here. Loved seeing my friend. It's always like we've only been apart 5 minutes when we see each other.

E didn't nap today and went to bed without any palavers. I'm not sure it's back to normal as such but it's nice to know she can still do it.

Going to my DSis for a BBQ tomorrow for my DN 1st birthday so looking forward to that.

YellowWellies · 26/07/2014 21:14

I'm loving the arrival of stormy weather too. Had to actually put PJs on the (koala!!!) bear (Pass that will now be his nickname when in limpet mode!) as his room was down to 17c. We've managed to keep it pretty cool in the heat by shutting blinds and keeping all the velux windows open to get a cross draught but under 20c will be lush. His real problem with the heat and his fever hasn't been his room temperature so much as his insistence on skin to skin with us. Last night he got hotter and crosser and only settled properly at 3am - hopefully we'll get more than 6 hours tonight. His fever's broken and he's a bit perkier but still ridiculously cuddly. What are the odds we get CP spots appear next Friday when we're due having been guilt tripped into spending £400 to fly to see the ILs.... Envy ?

Pass yip best get OOH number in your phone just in case!

Lily I'm struggling with Scotland 'hot' the temperatures in Hungary must be very difficult Sad

Passmethecrisps · 26/07/2014 21:26

P's room was 24oC at bedtime and it felt cool in comparison to the 27/8 it was last night. lily must be Hmm at these temperatures but my house was built for keeping heat in - A rated for energy efficiency so it is really hard to get it cool. 17o would feel positively arctic - it has never been that cool in this house day or night. This is something DH keeps reminding me about when I hanker after Victorian builds. Meh, I grew up in a cottage so cold my mum had to chip the duvet off the wall because the damp had frozen - I can handle a wearing an extra jumper and my secret Santa socks

YellowWellies · 26/07/2014 21:35

Victorian houses necessitate onesies or woodburners. Our gas bill would make you weep! Energy geek hat on - in theory a v energy efficient house should be cooler in the summer than a leaky house as the roof and wall insulation keeps heat and cold out. You just have to minimise solar gain by keeping curtains and windows closed - as once you let the heat in it can't leak out. Hence traditionally you get thermally massive houses in desert climates with thick walls and teensy windows.

Incacola · 26/07/2014 21:39

Thanks Pass Smile. Loving the mint leaf up the nose, that's quite an impressive sniff she must have!

We've finally got some rain too. It's so lovely to have some cool air blowing through the house tonight. We're having a summer bbq at our hotel tomorrow though so I'm hoping it will clear by the afternoon.

Eliza your day sounds lovely. Those types of friendships are so special.

Are other people's LO's getting their bossy pants on? I've been told to "sit here", "lie down", and "hold hands" (which I loved) today.

Passmethecrisps · 26/07/2014 21:39

99% of the time our house is ideal temp wise as it was built cheaply for a Scottish climate which is typically fairly mild.

Passmethecrisps · 26/07/2014 21:41

Yes!!! I get the "up, mummy" while holding hands and lifting. Cuddles when upset have to be up-cuddles.

We went to the park today which is almost always empty. Today the toddler swings were occupied and I had full on meltdown territory. Lots of stamping and pointing and shouting and wailing.

YellowWellies · 26/07/2014 22:08

We get ordered to put my fluffy dressing gown on when reading bedtime stories so he can cuddle in "gown on!!!!!" and he steals specs "dat mine!" Envy

StuntNun · 26/07/2014 22:31

I think J must be behind with his speech, he can say No and Up sometimes but the rest of the time he just screams at me cries or points. It's very frustrating for both of us that his communication is so poor. He woke up on Thursdat night and was crying and pointing at the window. He wanted a bottle of milk. It took me ages to figure that one out. Sad

Passmethecrisps · 26/07/2014 22:42

How did the HV visit go, stunt? I don't think j sounds behind at all but I totally recognise the frustration with not understanding what they are trying to say. My little nephew is saying daddy, mammy occasionally and one or two other words.
