We went to check out our potential new childminder after toddlers today. He cried when we left so definitely a hit!!! He'll be the youngest (she has a 3 and nearly 4 year old) and I think will definitely be the pet! Virtually as soon as we got there the three of them were toddling round holding his hands and showing him the toys. The kids are lovely, well mannered, bright and engaged - she's a proper old Mum, strict when needed, no screen time, lots of crafty activities and trips out, and they all love her. So I'm going to move him. I've been mulling it over and he's going to have years in age cohort formal education so I'm not worried about moving from nursery to a home setting. With the simple trips out to beach, park and local farms; the baking and crafts etc its more like the childhood I had. Am really chuffed Smile

Passmethecrisps · 15/07/2014 22:10

Sounds fabulous yw! Perfect

Passmethecrisps · 15/07/2014 22:11

Oh! And p was looking at your holiday pics today while saying the bear's name! Sort of. I knew what she was saying!

Elizadoesdolittle · 15/07/2014 22:12

Ah yw that sounds lovely.

Glad to hear of good hollibobs for miss and pr.

E was a nightmare to get to bed tonight. She stood screaming in her cot for nearly 2 hours (i did go into her every 15mins, didnt just leave her screaming). Is very very unsual for her so not complaining, just no idea what was wrong.

DD1 has the day off nursery tomorrow so we are going to go to Greenwich Park. I love it there.

YellowWellies · 15/07/2014 22:25

Pass that's so cool! I love it now they're getting names - seeing them building their own wee social lives makes me Smile

GTbaby · 15/07/2014 23:37

So H got out of bed. Had a speghetti hoop dinner with most of a crisp bread slice. Went to bed at 9. But he was a lot happier after his nap. So I'll have to pay the price for an easy-ish life.

StuntNun · 15/07/2014 23:43

DS2 has abdominal pain. After considering a urine infection or appendicitis I started wondering if it could be reflux. Obsessed much?

OP posts:
PetiteRaleuse · 16/07/2014 06:26

Have been roped into cooking a full English for everyone. Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 16/07/2014 07:04

Where is the pain stunt ? I assume appendicitis would be a different pain to reflux pain?

Wandathewindfairy · 16/07/2014 08:13

Yum. For how many? I think breakfasts can be tricky as they are a juggle of lots of things that happen quickly.

stunt you can' the too careful with abdo pain as it could be one of so many things, I would take him down to the gp or a&e if it is not easing up.

StuntNun · 16/07/2014 08:35

DS2 is fine, DH got him checked out at the out-of-hours doctor last night. He had pain around his navel that spread to the right side and he was very distressed. I wondered if it was a uti but the doctor reckoned it was just a bad stomach ache. He's been suspected of having abdominal migraines before because he complains of a stomach ache very often.

stunt glad to hear he's ok. I'm guessing your back from your holiday now?

pr chuck a couple more eggs on for me. I love a fried breakfast but agree with wanda that they can be a pita to cook. So many things happening at once!

Passmethecrisps · 16/07/2014 09:22

Good morning.

Raining here for the first day in the summer holidays so far. Not bad going. I called the pub which houses soft play and a weary man warned me it was likely to be very busy later. Their hearts must sink when it rains!

Glad ds2 is ok stunt. Poor soul - that sounds very painful.

I also agree that full breakfasts can be a total erse

izzybizzybuzzybees · 16/07/2014 09:30

pass it's soaking here too. J decided it was a good day to have a tantrum on the way to the car and try and sit down in the rain.... Fun! Got a few child free hours where I shall have a snooze and then hit the gym. Trying to use my membership as much as possible until I'm taken in for surgery and allowed to do bugger all. Very concerned about childcare aspect of that. I physically can't have the children in the house as back to a 1kg weight restriction for 12 weeks. It's going to be a nightmare as looks like Dh can't get any time off to help so it'll fall to my mum( who doesn't drive) and Mil who is 65!

PetiteRaleuse · 16/07/2014 09:35

Done and appreciated by the 5 adults and two kids. Everyone here plus the neighbours Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 16/07/2014 10:50

I do fry ups quite a lot, especially when we have guests. Just wasn't expecting to do it at someone else's house and for them to invite their neighbours and get the ingredients in, right down to baked beans, without consulting me.

Did sausages, beans, eggs, bacon and mushrooms fried in garlic butter. No fried bread but there was home made (not by me) brioche.

Pikz · 16/07/2014 10:56

We do lots of fry ups here too. Afrikaans have a massive breakfast culture so it's big in our household.

Not much news here, working, working, working.

Thought I'd come on and give Brew Wine Thanks To those who need

Wandathewindfairy · 16/07/2014 11:13

Am glad he is ok stunt dd1 tends to get lots of tummy aches, I think it is linked to anxiety as she worries a lot and gets herself stressed out.

I can't bring myself to do the full fry up so I tend to just fry the soda bread and potato farls then grilled bacon and mushrooms with poached the eggs.

I offered DH a fry this weekend but he was happy with banana on toast! He is having a bit of a fitness panic. Won't last long.

Hope your rainy day goes ok pass rainy here too so we went to Nanny's to play with her toys for a bit.

I am now trying to fashion a foraged lunch out of beetroot leaves, my first beetroot and halumi. ( they boys are having leftovers)

ValiumQueen · 16/07/2014 12:07

I used to volunteer to do the Sunday breakfast at my previous place of work. For up to 40. Most was just put in the oven, including beans, and we had a hot plate to keep everything warm. The eggs were fried to order, but thankfully many preferred scrambled. Good times Smile

Wandathewindfairy · 16/07/2014 14:16

Yum vq

O is asleep.

Ds1 is watching TarzanShock

I am outside reading Jodie piccoult

The sun is shining and is windy.

Perfect.

Passmethecrisps · 16/07/2014 15:22

Soft play was noisy and filled with slightly pushy children - p loved it.

I did have the following odd conversation.

Lady: oh! Is that p?
Me: yes!
Lady: oh, my pal used to CM her.
Me: oh, Betty. Yes, she still does.
Lady: no. Audrey. My pal Audrey used to CM her.
Me: Audrey? No. No, Audrey. Betty
Lady: nope. Definitely Audrey. She's over there and she pointed p out to me.
Me: I'm her mum and Audrey is defo not her CM.

Thankfully Audrey came over and explained - she is my CM's pal and knows p from being out and about. She also CM's a little girl called p.

I was starting to wonder if p was being farmed out!! Poor lady was mortified.

Wandathewindfairy · 16/07/2014 16:00

We are stopping nursery Sad. Because we are now paying rates on the house and is all mounting up. Ds1 starts nursery in sept so we will stop it from then. It will be so sad.

My lovely kind, gentle husband sent me an email outlining it all and where our outgoings have gone up, rather than have a conversation, telling me we were spending too much money, and risk (quite rightly) me thinking he was accusing me of being a spendthrift. With lots of kisses at the bottom. That is totally him. My initial thought was when I skim read it initially he is telling me off for spending too much money. Then I read it again and saw where he had pointed out our new outgoings and saw the kisses.

But I will be the one who has to break the news to nursery.

Wandathewindfairy · 16/07/2014 16:01

pass I was expecting that story to finish with a farming out punch line tbh!

Pikz · 16/07/2014 16:06

Pass that is quite funny

Hope ds is better now stunt

Wanda that is really lovely. What a keeper. But you knew that already!

StuntNun · 16/07/2014 20:56

Any Monty Python fans on here? I have two spare tickets for Friday at the O2 for a corporate hospitality box (£50 each) as the people that were going with us have cancelled at the last minute.
