Hope everyone finds this and I haven't doubled up!

I've got really bad back pain and ds is spinning on his zebra crying. No idea why!

Spotty that is hilarious! I have an awesome mental image of that poor doctor being chased!

Nutella - you'd think your DH would know from last time that pregnant women are not to be questioned or irritated in any way whatsoever... Silly man.

pidj great weight loss, I wish I could find the motivation to lose three or four stone

Hales thanks for tip re Kiddicare. I feel a shopping trip coming on this weekend...

F started two days a week and nursery this week rather than one, he is knackered now!

coffeeandcream · 01/08/2014 18:10

Beasty do you put claims in for money back on the cancelled trains? My DH used to submit a reclaim form
at least once a week when he worked in London.

WLmum · 01/08/2014 19:55

Wow hales that's one smart buba you have there! Amazing!

Barbeasty · 01/08/2014 19:56

I have an annual season ticket, but I'm looking forward to it being far cheaper next year at this rate! Can't do the % in my head, but on Wednesday (when it was last cancelled and not everyone could fit on the next train 1.5hr later) 15% of my trains home had been cancelled.

A is saying and understanding so much more. I got a yes please today, and when I went to put my slippers on when we got home I told him I'd make both DC some toast when I came down. I returned to him carrying a plate ready. And when he was hitting DD's head with a spade it just took me asking if he wanted to go to his cot to stop him.

WLmum · 01/08/2014 19:59

I second whoever said about her being so bright possibly being the cause if her tricky behaviour - I also know that the very clever ones can be difficult with sleep - I guess it's hard for them to switch off their brains at this she. Have you tried baby massage? She might find it calming before bed (but I guess you might have trouble getting her to keep still long enough!).

SpottyTeacakes · 01/08/2014 20:08

Beasty apparently someone hit a train near London and loads were cancelled or delayed. It effected my sister in Bath.

Weathers been nice here today. Bit of cloud maybe.

I made crispy shredded beef for dinner didn't quite satisfy my craving for a take awake due to all the washing up Smile

Yes, Ealing again like a couple of weeks ago (2 suicides there, 1 lightning strike and 1 broken down train).

halestone · 01/08/2014 21:18

Beasty, it sounds like an added stress all these cancelled trains. Hope you have a lovely weekend off to make up for it.

Coffee, i'm not sure but someone told me tomorrow is the final day they are open.

WL i know everyone says it but i think Heidi is very advanced for her age and yet her sleep is so far behind. Like i've said before by the time their 3 their all the same walking and talking and causing mischief.

WLmum · 01/08/2014 23:23

Naughty buba T is still obsessed with my boobs and clamped on after my shower this morning. I'm pretty sure she didn't get anything but she fought so hard to stay on in the end I gave in for fear of sustaining a nasty injury!
I had a lovely day today, just me and my 3 girls. Took them into the nearest town on the train (public transport = great excitement) and went to a fab interactive electronic art show at the local art gallery type place, but my fave but was when dd2 had a moan about something and I said in a mum-ish way 'life's hard' and dd1 said 'actually I quite like my life' and we went on to list things we each liked about our lives - no 1 in her list was 'mummy and daddy are kind'. Smile

coffeeandcream · 02/08/2014 09:20

WL that is lovely! She sounds like a real sweetie

WLmum · 02/08/2014 10:00

coffee she has her m

WLmum · 02/08/2014 10:03

Moments but we do spend quite a bit of time gently telling/showing her how lucky she/we are and she can have a tendancy to be quite selfish so it's nice to know some of it goes in!

halestone · 02/08/2014 14:33

WL that sounds like a lovely day amd nice to see your hard work paying off.

coffeeandcream · 02/08/2014 22:07

I'd love some advice please. F has been climbing up the sides of his cot and to prevent a terrible fall, tonight we took the side if his cot off, put a bed guard on, as well as a stair gate across his door.

Not surprisingly, getting him to stay in bed was extremely difficult. He was continuously trying to get out having fits of rage when we put him back in and eventually he fell asleep through exhaustion.

Has anyone successfully made this change to removing the cot bars? What tips do you have for a less stressful bedtime?

MrsNutella · 02/08/2014 22:39

Coffee what kind of bed does your DS have? DS can't climb the sides of his cot (thank goodness). So I'm not really much help, sorry.
Perhaps try it for a few nights with the side off and see if things improvehow he gets on?

WL that does sound lovely.

Still no baby here. But the house is clean clean clean today! Smile

halestone · 02/08/2014 23:59

We haven't made the move to the bed rails yet either Coffee, so not really any advice. The only thing i could possibly suggest is to leave him to place him back in his bed everytime he gets out.

Nutella please come to my house as well.

WLmum · 03/08/2014 00:40

Yay to a clean house but boo to no baby nutella
coffee I think you're doing the right things and need to stick at it for another few days. If course he's pushing the boundaries of a new situation - he just needs to get used to the new rules (I hope!). I'm not sure what else you can do.

DH and I went to see avenue q tonight - I was a bit sceptical but it was great. Really funny and well done. Would recommend you see it if the tour comes your way. It was our belated anniversary night out after the cock up and sulks of before. We rounded proceedings off with a romantic trip to tesco to get stuff for our camping trip next week!

SpottyTeacakes · 03/08/2014 06:29

When we changed dd to a bed she was just over two. It took weeks of us just putting her back in, hours each night, and she'd always been really good at going to sleep. Sorry I know that's not what you want to hear!

Ds keeps managing to get out of his sleeping bag Confused

Hurry up baby Nutella!

Barbeasty · 03/08/2014 08:06

We took the sides off DD's cot just before 18 months (when she could undo her sleeping bag and start to climb over the sides).

We didn't bother with bed guards, so she could easily climb in and out herself. Just put a few (quiet!) toys in the room and shut the gate. We decided that if she wanted to get out and play she could, but she never did.
If you let him play for a bit (maybe move bedtime earlier to ccompensate) would he put himself to bed after a while? DD does, but she's a strange child who will ask to go to be when she's tired.

PurplePidjin · 03/08/2014 21:38
Brew
Barbeasty · 03/08/2014 21:53

Hope you feel better and get a good appointment on Tuesday Pidj

I had a nightmare journey back with the DF from my Dad's this evening. I ran out of oil, and have a huge blister from trying (and failing) to open the stupid oil filler cap. DH had to come and find me with a monkey wrench to get the thing open, and because the DC were asleep I opened all the windows. When we got going again, just as we got to the roads with the most ridiculous corners near home DD woke up with a horribly cricked neck. I had to drive incredibly slowly or she screamed with every bend.

WLmum · 03/08/2014 23:31

pidj and baby beasty hope you feel better soon. T had a high temp this morning - it was my turn for a lie in and DH hadn't noticed how hot she was - 39! Calpol throught the day worked its magic but she was very clingy and I've been trying to pack for our camping holiday next week. I should have been off work tom but volunteered to swap a day and go in as there's stuff that kicked off last week and I should really see through. They were v good about me asking for time off for dd1&2 starting school so good to get an opportunity to pay it back but threw out my packing day.

halestone · 04/08/2014 00:25

Pidj, i hope you feel better soonThanks

Beasty, i hope DD's neck is feeling better now.

WL, hopefully T will be better in the morning. Do you know the cause of the temperature?

H has just fell asleep, she has started singing herself to sleep which sounds really cute.

MrsNutella · 04/08/2014 07:30

I think I'm going to be pregnant forever...Hmm

halestone · 04/08/2014 10:59

NutellaThanks i have no words that will make you feel better, i hope baby comes soon.
