Hope everyone finds this and I haven't doubled up!

I've got really bad back pain and ds is spinning on his zebra crying. No idea why!

I got it for £420. It was originally £750 so quite good. Although I'd rather it was cheaper Wink

Wow, bargain! Bet it looks stunning on :o

Colleague took a phone call at work yesterday. Neighbour thought elderly lady was dead as had taken all her oramorph and left a home made DNAR letter next to her. Terminal pt with hx of depression. Just found out it's BIL's nan she's still alive but dr reckons only a couple of days left. Life is so sad sometimes. She obviously wants to die Sad

My great nan is 100 today but she only weighs four stone now. Sad

That's gorgeous spotty (and what a bargain!) I confess when not pregnant and horrible looking I love any dress shopping..

Stacks · 16/07/2014 20:36

Just lurking. Both babies sleeping just now, feel like I should be sleeping too! DS is still unsettled around sleeps, woke in a panic at 2 last night and wouldn't go back to sleep without DH there. He spent half of last night through there on the spare bed, and is just going to start out in there tonight and hope for no wakes. Hopefully if he does wake he'll settle quicker and not disturb me so much too.

Spotty, glad you got the dress for such a good price, it's lovely. Sorry to hear about BIL gran, it's hard to know how to deal with something like that. Woo for your g.gran getting to 100!

Pidg, I got married in a second hand dress, if it fits and you look good then why not? It does indeed give you much more budget for fun stuff. I did lots of things for our wedding myself - room decoration, table centre pieces, a 3 tier m&s cake (which tasted amazing!) decorated with etsy sugar paper butterflies, silk flowers bouquets made to order online... I regret trying to make chocolate truffle favours myself, they melted to mush just in the heat of the reception room. Everything else was lovely though, and we splashed out on the menu and wine.

Hales, the house looks great, our garden is too small though. I'm not sure you made the best use of your day off, is probably have opted for bath, nap and tasty lunch! Wink

SpottyTeacakes · 16/07/2014 20:45

Stacks you could get a play tent for the garden instead if you don't already have one?

Spotty ((hugs)) my grant is 93 and still independent Shock a large part of me feels her wishes should be respected hard though that is Sad

I'm planning a church service we invite everyone to then lunch for family and close friends (30ish in total) my million has offered the cake and some money and my folks have offered to pay for the reception so i don't want to take the piss! would live to hire dp's dream car for him, then keep it for the weekend for a mini honeymoon but might not have the money - its £400 odd just for the car! i can dream yes its a two seater

WLmum · 16/07/2014 21:46

Lush spotty!

pidj what about asking for donations towards the car instead of wedding gifts? Mil wrote a nice poem asking in a nice way for donations towards a honeymoon for bil.
Dd1 had her school play today - T was so excited to see her stage - pointing, waving and calling out her name.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/07/2014 22:02

We've got baby hedgehogs Grin

How lovely spotty. We had some once in a house we lived in pre dds and they were so cute. I used to sit out after dark and watch them. Could dd ever stay up late enough to see them?

SpottyTeacakes · 17/07/2014 06:18

No but I took some photos. They come out about 10pm atm.

Hi all. I'm back joining the thread and hoping I can keep up with you all! Although I've not been on for so long my nickname needs updating!

PurplePidjin · 17/07/2014 12:45

WL I want a bespoke bookshelf built on a funny shaped bit of wall in my living room so will be asking for money for that (it's a bit more long term than the car, and more "traditional" in that it's for the house iyswim. Although I feel a bit rude asking for money...)

Hedgehogs are awesome, the fleas not so much Wink

Hi Honey how's things?

HoneyMum21 · 17/07/2014 16:47

Things are good thanks Pidj. Slowly getting to grips with life with 2 babies! I seem to have missed your happy news - congratulations on the engagement :)

coffeeandcream · 17/07/2014 17:26

Eugh. Too hot. Grumpy teething toddler. Roll on bed time.

WLmum · 17/07/2014 17:45

Howdy honey. Glad it's going well, is she an easy baby?

I went shopping this am for a few bits for my new job - need to be v smart as opposed to current fairly casual job (1 day left!). Got some a couple if lovely dresses but not sure they're quite the thing for this heat wave! Will be able to do another childless dash for 2 hours tom between school fb and DH starting work.
Never been so glad of our ridiculously huge paddling pool - dds were hot and grumpy at pick up then had a wonderful splash around.

SpottyTeacakes · 17/07/2014 17:54

We've been indoors since 1 as it's too hot outside. It's dd's sport day tomorrow at 1:30 Angry

OP posts:
WLmum · 17/07/2014 19:51

Hottest night of the year and we are engaged in a cc style bedtime battle. It's bad timing of course but these bedtime shenanigans have to stop for everyone's sake.
spotty maybe they'll cancel if its too hot?

SpottyTeacakes · 17/07/2014 19:56

Don't think so, it was really hot last year too.

Someone's muck spreading on one of the fields and as all our windows are open in stinks!

WL hope t goes to sleep soon.

HoneyMum21 · 17/07/2014 21:00

She's a lot easier than Dash was at this age. probably spoken far too soon

I'm sure it's been discussed to death but here goes. How are you all dealing with bad behaviour and tantrums. D is being awful at the moment. He bit a little girl at soft play the other day and he often gets a bit pushy when playing. If I try to tell him off he just grins at me and carries on. The tantrums have started with a vengeance too.

SpottyTeacakes · 17/07/2014 21:04

Remove and distract with bad behaviour and let them get on with tantrums. When ds hits I tell him to use gentle hands and he starts stroking that person instead. Don't listen to me though I clearly do it all wrong as dd is such a horror atm!

OP posts:
HoneyMum21 · 17/07/2014 21:24

Gentle hands etc doesn't seem to work as he either doesn't understand or chooses to ignore me. I think probably the latter.

On that, is anyone else's LO not talking a huge amount? D talks 'scribble' huge amounts but doesn't have much in the way of proper words yet :S

SpottyTeacakes · 17/07/2014 21:28

Ds only says mam mam mam. Possibly had car [dd's name] and who's that but generally he just makes lots of noise.

I used to take ds' hand And do the gentle hand for him. If it didn't work I would just move him away and try to interest him in something else.

OP posts:
HoneyMum21 · 17/07/2014 21:33

I'll keep trying with the gentle hands. Just got a copy of toddler calm to read too.

There's quite a few words he's said once or twice but won't try again. It's like he does it to show he can then thinks he doesn't need to do it again!

PurplePidjin · 17/07/2014 23:06

I do remove, distract, "Kind hands" and stuff like "We don't hit our friends" then follow with the cuddle to say sorry. He's learning, but equally hasn't really got to the biting/hitting stage yet so I don't know if this works or not!

R has loads of words emerging from the scribble now - Buh for bus, lo-oh for lorry, loads of animals (cutest are Sna with a clap for crocodile, pfftt for Raspberry and Hiya for "What does a R say?") and our local bus company are yellow, so he has a stab at that too. They're quite unclear in pronunciation but he can make himself understood because other people react when he does it. I'm currently teaching to shout DUUUUUUUUUUUB whenever we see a bay/splitty/old bug/T25 Hmm

This week he's started calling Mummy when he wakes up, then goes quiet and plays when I say I'm just coming
