How is the job Deids?

Beans my dear you just sound like you need, not a break but just time as a family including dh :(. Must admit I would not be impressed if dh was away for a jolly over a birthday.

Ds2 is still just not right at all. He is well enough during the day (and yes he drinking juice, squash, whatever to get stuff in him. And being bribed with chocolate to get various antibiotics in him. The child is going to have no teeth left by the end of all this). So he is going to childminder but still during the day he stops every so often and cries a bit and says his tummy hurts. Then carries on. But evenings get really bad. Crying about tummy and I have no idea if it is UTI or constipation. Movicol seems to be resulting in some liquid poo every 4 or 5 days but not regular poo and I don't know what I'm doing with it any more frankly or if that might be causing moo tummy pains. He cries and cries, he says his tummy hurts, his bum hurts, then he doens't know any more. His legs hurt, his foot hurts, his hand hurts. I just want to make it all stop.

He is booked in to GP again Monday for a check over, repeat urine sample and referral for his kidney scan. Don't know if it is worth taking him earlier. Last day of both antibiotics today.

Am rather glad he is still bf, his gut flora must be fucked. Any good probiotics that are not dairy?

Honsandrevels · 27/11/2014 09:59

I'd take him back earlier if you can Indith. No nice gp ever minds seeing a poorly child and it sounds as though he is still v uncomfortable.

Deids You'll get into the swing of the new job in time. My friend works in a prison and found it v hard at first - although she is a psychologist so listening to the inner most thoughts of people who have committed awful crimes must be quite grim.

I'm really annoyed with dh and it is all so petty really but lots of little things have built up. I'm sure I'd get short thrift on AIBU but I'm pissed off! I'm fed up of being the home organiser busy trying to juggle commitments here there and everywhere when he doesn't listen (or read emails properly)!!

IAmDeids · 27/11/2014 17:46

Trying to catch up whilst DS at swimming. The job has got better. Who knew I'd feel do comfortable walking past paedos & murders. Weird environment but think I'm going to really enjoy it. Have stopped panicking about the keys!!

IAmDeids · 27/11/2014 17:47

Paleo can you not get DS seen sooner? Such a long time over the weekend if he doesn't improve.

beans39 · 27/11/2014 20:37

Indith, you are right. we need time together. I'd like to kill him at the moment. he's not going to India, which is a relief.

I've taken the bull by the horns today and decided I've had enough of just always being someone's Mum and it's time I had a bit of time being me again, and have signed up to do a proofreading and editing correspondence course. v excited. also, the petty bit of me is looking forward to not always habing everything shipshape for DH as I'll be too busy. ha.

beans39 · 27/11/2014 20:38

posted too soon! aaagh.

indith, I would definitely go back to the GP asap. you pay your taxes, use the services offered.

IAmAPaleontologist · 27/11/2014 21:09

Good for you beans!

Am a bit happier about ds2 tonight, he seemed more normal. Had the last dose of all his antibiotics. Didn't eat dinner as was having tummy pains BUT the pains were accompanied by his usual poo dance and were at normal poo time and got worse and worse and the poo dance got more frantic until poo appeared. so fingers crossed we are getting there. down to 1 movicol a day i think and hope he gets back to regular routine.

ds1 of course has come out in spots. so i won't be at uni tomorrow as dh has a meeting in leeds so i need to get him checked if spots are still present and mysterious in the morning

meant to say I'd love to do secret santa but i fear my ability to get to a shop and then a post office might be a little limited at the moment! i could manage our local post office which is in a random local shop selling yarn, an assortment of odd children's clothes and some random cheap children's toys. Might not be that well received!

JamInMyWellies · 27/11/2014 22:30

Oh that is good Indith.

Beans good for you, bloody DHs mine as at the first of many many Christmas dos tonight.

Boys had beavers tonight and they were going bowling. I dropped them off at 6.30 they came home at 9.30! Shock They are going to be a bloody nightmare tomorrow morning.

Christmas Fair day looms tomorrow. I am a bit nervous as it all seems to be going swimmingly and have had no problems. Clearly I have made some sort of gigantic cock up and its all going to go tits up tomorrow. And if not then I am a genius! Wink

IAmAPaleontologist · 27/11/2014 22:39

9.30 Shock flipping heck. ds1 has just gone up to cubs and we are finding that bad enough as it finishes at 8. He is supposed to be on a sleepover tomorrow night, he'll be gutted if these spots mean he can't go.

mckayz · 28/11/2014 09:32

Hello.

I am going to have to drop out of the secret Santa I'm afraid. DHs wages have disappeared and no one seems to have a clue where they are. Luckily my mum gave us enough to cover the bills but how we'll buy any food I don't know. Sad

Happy birthday to all the 6 year olds and about to turn 6. DS2 is very excited!

IAmAPaleontologist · 28/11/2014 10:26

Kayz that is crap! I bet you are fuming! They can't leave you unable to eat! His employers need to be giving him some emergency pay right this second.

mckayz · 28/11/2014 10:58

They won't. Their bank has said they've sent the money so his employers say they've done their bit.

mckayz · 28/11/2014 14:29

They have just been paid in. Despite Nationwide saying they hadn't received them. So relieved, I haven't slept this week.

MontserratCaballe · 28/11/2014 14:35

Hurray! What lovely news. Glad you are in funds again, Kayz.

Can you be back in secret santa?

Been to see osteo and get back sorted (although I didn't realise til I got there that he is a dad from school. Eeek!). Have also had a pedi and got through about 5 blades. Am now an inch shorter. Very relaxed and chilled for the first time in weeks.

Will send SS email tonight. HUrray.

How are all the sickies today? Indith, could that be molluscum? DD2 had it when she was 4 and it got better v quickly, although took a year for her skin to be completely blemish free. It doesn't hurt or itch. Could it be that?

IAmAPaleontologist · 28/11/2014 14:52

Phew!

beans39 · 28/11/2014 18:54

phew!

any tips on how to get DD3 off the bottle?

IAmAPaleontologist · 28/11/2014 18:58

Honey I'm still bf ds at 2yrs nearly 9 months.

mckayz · 28/11/2014 21:38

I will be back into secret Santa.

Not a clue Beans. DD still has a bottle in the evening. Just wish I'd kept breastfeeding really. No washing up.

Honsandrevels · 30/11/2014 10:41

Beans We stopped dd1 over to a nuby cup as soon as she went into cows milk at 1 year. It helped that the first night we did it we were at my mum's so she just saw it as something different. She kept her dummy till 3 though!

Glad you are back on board the ss Kayz!

Is it ok to draw the secret Santa tomorrow evening? Monday is the only evening dh is free all week.

IAmAPaleontologist · 30/11/2014 13:17

When you book a venue for 30 kids for a joint party for your 2 older dcs and each presents you with a list of 3 names and insists they don't want anyone else.

i should have offered to take them to the cinema.

JamInMyWellies · 30/11/2014 15:30

Have ran out of formula I can give DS3 cows milk now cant I? I know i should wait until he is officially 1 but thats only a few wks away and he eats loads of cows milk with his breakfast, yogs and cheese.

JamInMyWellies · 30/11/2014 15:32

IAmAPaleontologist · 30/11/2014 15:40

Oh my goodness Jammy! They are AMAZING!

I though the old Manse was lovely and then I saw Albert Cottage. Wow. Just Wow. The Manse is probably more family friendly though with the garden and I can imagine Albert Cottage being a bit on the breezy side!

Wow.

I'd say so long as diet good blah blah blah cows milk fine.

MontserratCaballe · 30/11/2014 17:13

Homs, have pm you with my details. Hope that's ok. Thanks for sorting.

Matthew's birthday tomorrow. Not remotely ready. Aargh!

mckayz · 30/11/2014 17:43

Oh Jam how gorgeous! I love the last 2. The lights in the kitchen on the 3rd link are lovely!
