Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
IAmAPaleontologist · 05/11/2014 17:15

dd is my dec08 child Smile .

IAmAPaleontologist · 05/11/2014 17:16

It isn't normally considered a medical issue until around 7. dd was referred initially for overactive bladder so for daytime wetting.

ZuleikaJambiere · 05/11/2014 17:29

Oh Deids, what a horrid girl, although it clearly isn't her fault she's like that. I hope DD's managed to avoid her today, and your fb angry face isn't linked?

On bed wetting, my friends DD struggled to stay dry at night and someone suggested black currant can irritate the bladder, so if she ever had squash now it's orange only and the bed wetting stopped. I was astonished it worked. Well done to your DD Indith, fingers crossed its third time lucky tonight

beans39 · 05/11/2014 18:12

ah. I'm not worried yet, but she's starting to do sleepovers and is keen not to have nappies for them, but not realistic yet.

IAmDeids · 05/11/2014 20:52

Yes my FB angry face was linked. I've deleted it, childish on my part. The silly little girl told everyone her mum has said she isn't allowed to talk to DD and then told DD if she was talking to someone, DD must stay away. I'm going to speak to teacher tomorrow. DD is handling the whole thing better than me. The temptation to slap the child's mother was running high after school

But just been to an amazing fireworks display so am feeling better!!

TheInvisibleHand · 06/11/2014 00:11

Dieds - not much useful advice to offer but lots of sympathy. My DD has been stuck in a particularly poisonous trio, with the others regularly excluding her while supposedly being friends. She almost broke my heart when she was asking if you stop being happy as you grow up - she then explained she had been happy till she was 4, but then got shy and started having problems with her friends. I guess at least she is starting to see they are not the be all and end all. I've come to the conclusion you can't do much to change how others behave, just help your DD cope. But it is gruesome.

TheInvisibleHand · 06/11/2014 00:12

Gutted to miss fireworks with the DCs tonight. It's one of my fave nights of the year and it sounds like they all had a lot of fun

IAmDeids · 06/11/2014 18:27

Good grief!! Spoke to teacher. Promised to keep an eye on things etc etc. DD got home, and the girl in question has been saying to DD, several times today, "you know my mum says you can't be near me". Angry Poor DD was really lost and said " where am I supposed to sit we're in the same class?" I lost it. Sent a very passive aggressive (probably more heavily on the aggressive) email to mum saying it stops now or I'm seeing the HT tomorrow. The girls are in the same class and it's unrealistic for them not to be in close proximity to each other. She replied and apologised saying she had said it. But didn't think her DD would take her at her word and keep saying it to my DD.

Anyhow, a mutual friend who appears to be piggy in the middle and who I genuinely feel bad for has asked DD to sleep over tomorrow night. So she is thrilled! And if this girl gets wind of if tomorrow she will hopefully realise it doesn't pay to be mean. Now let this be an end to it!!

On a totally unrelated issue. I had a whole bottle of prosecco to myself last night and have been ridiculously hungover all day. I'm too old for hangovers!!!

Artichokes · 06/11/2014 18:33

Oh Deids, what a horrid woman and horrid daughter. I'm glad the woman apologised but I think I'd talk to the teachers anyway. It would be good for the mother to realise the school won't forgive the kind of bitchyness she is modelling. By the way, I live 5 mins in the car from Wormwood Scrubs! The hospital where I had the DDs is right next door to the prison and I could see into the exercise yard while I gave birth. Please come down. I will invite the other Londoners over too!

I will be back to post more. I've not been on since the amazing meet-up and I am so pleased to see lots of posts. So much I want to respond to but first I must put DS to bed.

mckayz · 07/11/2014 06:18

Deids, that is awful. I think I would mention it to the teachers. What on earth is she teaching her daughter?

Honsandrevels · 07/11/2014 17:27

Blimey deids, that is just horrible. Oh it makes my heart sink with the awful memories. You sound like you are tackling it so well. Well done you!

School disco tonight. Lucky me!

ZJ My mum says I used to get cystitis after drinking 'cheap' squash at nursery - maybe it was just black current!

JustRubes · 07/11/2014 21:14

Ah yes it's right next to where I had ds too Deids. Come down. Ugh can't scroll back. Forgot. Was impressed by your bottle of Prosecco Deids. Clearly the only thing that stuck mind. You are not "piss fit" though, but that's a good thing Grin
My two took forever to TT but I must have made a few throw away comments about school starting and sleepovers and they were dry from summer before school. However. Dd went backwards slightly and her first day of school started wetting the bed. I guess it's all the change. Started lifting her for the first time and she seemed to sort herself out but the slightest break in routine and she sometimes still wets. She does still live milk at night which didn't help!

JustRubes · 07/11/2014 21:17

Deids so glad that dd is having a friendly sleep over.
Crikey poor dd. I really feel for these kids.
Haven't seen much similar or heard at school but if we did I'd be fuming. Angry

IAmDeids · 07/11/2014 22:52

DD happily at slept over. She was so excited. The mum has got them pizza and treats. She won't sleep but after a tough few days she deserves it.

She's had a better day. They have a teacher at school who I can only describe as a mediator. Anyhow, the girl in question was asked why she was being mean to DD. She couldn't apparently so was asked to put herself in DD's shoes. That was at break this morning. DD said she was talking to her 'a bit' after lunch. I'm not bothered about them being friends but I'm glad this girl realises or at the least was made to think her behaviour isn't acceptable. It was nice to see DD come out of school smiling!!

Rubes I'm completely not "piss fit" GrinGrin

MontserratCaballe · 10/11/2014 22:19

Hello everyone. Too tired to write much, but wanted to see how DD was now, Deids. Did the sleepover go well? Any more emails from the mother? Hope things are settling.

I haven't heard "piss fit" in a while. Made me smile.

Have hurt my back so on a hot water bottle. Sleep beckons. More tomorrow

Honsandrevels · 11/11/2014 12:31

Just marking my place...

IAmDeids · 11/11/2014 13:00

All was well at school yesterday. The mother did grab me to have a word though. She was hugely apologetic but still somehow managed to twist the conversation around to bring up how perfect her daughter was. It was a bit uncomfortable but I just said as long as her daughter was civil and wasn't making my DD cry things would be just fine. I'm hoping it's an end to the matter.

She had a fab time at the sleep over. Had about 4 hours sleep though. So came home and went back to bed!

IAmAPaleontologist · 12/11/2014 10:51

That's good deids, Good to know the air is cleared and all that. Hope your dd is happy with her other friends.

i could cheerfully strangle dd. 7 nights of being dry. 7. so i allowed her to choose her reward just as ds1 had when he did his first week. One giant 70cm long cuddly Tiger winging its way here.

night 8. wet. Oh well, it happens, nobody is cross, dd knows she will still get her tiger.

night 9. asks for a pull up. gave her one as don't want to make am issue blah blah blah. wet. merrily takes it off on the morning telling me it doesn't matter, we don't need any more dry nights.

If the little imp is just not bothering to get up now she has her tiger I'm going to kill her.

JamInMyWellies · 13/11/2014 13:59

Am bloody furious. A distant relative who lives in the US and is quite frankly the worst of everything everyone thinks of Americans and I speak as someone who loves the US. Has put a picture of my Grandpas hearse and coffin on facebook! So cross. How disrespectful and distasteful.

IAmAPaleontologist · 13/11/2014 17:23

Angry on your behalf jammy x

IAmDeids · 13/11/2014 17:38

Jam I've just read her comments as sadly it has shown up on my news feed. I am shocked and utterly appalled at her despicable attitude to you and your family's request to remove it! I'm sorry your having to deal with her. Am so Angry for you.

MontserratCaballe · 13/11/2014 17:46

I am so sorry, Jam, what a terrible thing to do and how insensitive she is not to remove it. Hope you and your family are ok. Much love XXXX

JamInMyWellies · 13/11/2014 17:57

It a man. Can you believe someone would do that and then to write we didn't seem that upset. He made the most inappropriate comments in the hearse on the way to the cemetery and then took photos!! I mean really!!!!!!!!!!!! I really want to rant but am trying to maintain a dignified response.

mckayz · 14/11/2014 06:24

It popped up on my newsfeed too. I am so sorry Jam. Can you report the photo maybe?

beans39 · 14/11/2014 08:21

Oh Jam
grim.

sorry for my silence. struggling a bit with my exhaustion from DD3 and as a result, DH and I at each other's throats.

my mum is having DD3 for me next week from Thursday morning to Sunday afternoon. DH is away from Thursday to Sunday, so it'll mean I can spend some time with other 2 DDs and we can all get some uninterrupted sleep!!! and I can take them to the cinema too, which will be heaven. can't wait.
