Great news about the course Veg. Congrats. Will the work you have done thus far count towards the new course or do you have to start from scratch? Will you be living in Brisbane? I have a good friend in Brisbane. We grew up together here but she fell in love with an Aussie who then turned out to be a heroine addict but by then she was over there and was with child so she stayed, left him and has a fabby life now.

Im back in the UK after another lovely holiday, this time in the Alps. We travelled everywhere by chair lift which was stunning and exciting but a little scary with wriggly DS! The weather was a little poor but we were with great friends and it was fun.

Sybs, our friends whose sun goes to school with M were on holiday with us. He was hilarious as he knew the words to lots of current pop songs and sung them with gusto. He said he knew them because they are played loudly throughout every break time at school! Is that true? It seems so funny. Does M plague you with an encyclopaedic knowledge of 1D's greatest hits?

Arti is that you? wel jel of your alps visit I love the alps, all of them. I do wonder if I maybe should live by a large mountain, possibly around a lake.

That is sad about your Brisbane friend. What a horrid loser, I'm glad it has worked out. Maybe you should pop out to visit her next year??? We are moving there in December. Yay getting so excited, still haven't booked the flights as DH is double checking the dates he is booked into the course in SF.

the boys started back at school today in their shiny new school back across the road from us. It is only until half term because then we will leave, but it is nice to be so close to school again. They have a great little play ground which the boys can play in with the local kids after school and on the weekends. Nice.

Vagolajahooli · 01/09/2014 20:48

oh & forgot to answer your question Poisonwood, I should get credit for all the subjects I've studied in the current course and possibly the research subject I studied in the nursing masters I was studying.

JustRubes · 02/09/2014 14:13

1st day of school for dd today - can't quite believe its that time for her already! She's beyond excited and skipped in. Seems way too small at only just turning 4! Half days for 2 weeks then it's full time. DS excited to go back too.
Parent's went home yesterday - I'm shattered. Just wish they were slightly more hands on grandparents but oh well, at least we avoided arguments this trip - miracle given that we spent a week on a canal boat all together. All was fun - meaning to post some pics but not sure if I'll get around to it!
I can't keep up with all these name changes. Much harder as I'm behind reading up. And I've got a load of work to do for work so not sure how I'll ever manage to, but plan is to try.....

IAmAPaleontologist · 02/09/2014 17:38

I feel sick. New CM put ds2 (2 and a half years old) in a high backed booster seat with the seat belt. If her judgement is that poor on car seats what the hell else does the think is acceptable?

mckayz · 02/09/2014 18:31

Blimey!! I am going on DD's size at 2.2 years but surely he can't be big enough for a high backed booster. I would be fuming!!

DD starts playschool tomorrow. I think I will cry. Sad

IAmAPaleontologist · 02/09/2014 18:52

Bet she loves it Smile you will enjoy the quiet time.

I know, far too small. hbb is fit around 4 plus. I don't want to send him again right now. No choice though really.

mckayz · 02/09/2014 19:05

I am hoping she won't cry. She still screams if I try to leave her with anyone. She screamed the campsite down in the middle of the night when I went for a wee!!

I would be having strict words with the CM.

JustRubes · 02/09/2014 19:30

Iam. That's worrying. I worry enough when dh does stupid things but someone you are paying to care for them should know better.

Lady when are you scheduled for número 3 to appear?

JustRubes · 02/09/2014 19:31

Kayz how old is she now? I wouldn't worry. Dd loved it

mckayz · 02/09/2014 19:34

She was 2 in June. We have been a few times to the stay and play but she never interacted with any of the staff or other kids.

MontserratCaballe · 02/09/2014 22:00

Kayz, you will get to drink a cup of coffee on your own! It'll be great. You'll see.

Think Lady due to have bebe around 1st October. 4 weeks tomorrow! Eek!

mckayz · 03/09/2014 09:16

She didn't cry! She tried to follow me out of the door but one of the ladies steered her towards some play dough. Hopefully she'll be ok.

beans39 · 03/09/2014 09:56

DD2 has gone to school! Although I have to pick her up at 12 this week and 1.15 next week. Hmmm. Would rather they just cracked on, to be honest.

Kayz, enjoy your freedom!

Arti, I'd be pretty pissed off, but I'm sure if you tell her, she won't do it again. Try not to worry as I'm sure it was a one off mistake.

Xxx

JustRubes · 03/09/2014 11:04

They're both gorgeous Beans!

JustRubes · 03/09/2014 11:31

DD goes 0830-12 for two weeks then full time from the 15th

mckayz · 03/09/2014 12:10

She was fine. No crying until I picked her up. She has eaten fruit too. She never eats fruit at home.

IAmDeids · 03/09/2014 15:46

Beans she looks gorgeous! Dis she enjoy it? And Rubes how did A get on? I can't believe they have started school already!

I have to read back and catch up but we only got back from hols yesterday and I still have last minute school stuff to sort out before they return tomorrow.

Vag, well done on the course!

IAmDeids · 03/09/2014 15:48

Oh Kayz am glad DD enjoyed her morning at playgroup.

JustRubes · 03/09/2014 17:38

Got bitten by a dog walking from school to swimming lessons at the gym. The owner got all defensive and arsy when I wanted her contact details. Took a photo of her and reported it to cover myself. Now at NHS walk in centre as dh suggested I go since can't remember last tetnus.
This is such a pita as kids are beyond obnoxious since tired from school. I went quite postal at them do they've calmed down now, so now I'm getting worked up over an injection. Urgh. On it goes...
Dd seems to love it Deids, but she's knackered!

beans39 · 03/09/2014 18:09

thanks for kind words. they loved it.

rubes, that's awful. was it out of the blue??? did you get the owner's details?

JustRubes · 03/09/2014 18:32

Kids ahead scooting on footpath - me jogging / walking fast to keep up. Dog coming opposite direction just grabbed my leg and I had to shake it off. Owner got all bitchy and said no then I said she has to give her details by law so she rattled off a phone number. Have done police report at least.
Was given tetnus shot (didn't pass out yay) and script for AB's if it gets infected in next 48 hrs.
Dh on call tonight and kids bloody painfully over tired. Thought I might strangle one but they calmed down.
Suffice to say we will be skipping bath tonight.

And THAT is why I paid big money for a dog rather than a rescue dog with small children around. Wasn't the dogs fault as prob just scared. Shame.

mckayz · 03/09/2014 19:11

Oh Rubes that is awful! I hope it doesn't hurt too much.

Vagolajahooli · 03/09/2014 20:06

Crikey Rubes that's horrendous. A friend got bitten recently when out jogging. She startled the dog and it sank it's teeth into her. The owner went mental at her and aa she doesn't know the law here she didn't know if she was to blame or the owner. We pointed out that if it had been a child that startled the dog it could have been devastating.

Indith that is terrible. children have to be at least 15kg to be heavy enough to engage the seat belt safety mech in the event of an accident and old enough to be trusted not to undo themselves. Not to mention height and need to nap and not slide out of the seat.

Booked our flights today. Rubes what's your roster in November? We are flying to LA with your lovely airline.

beans39 · 03/09/2014 21:31

hope you're ok Rubes x
