Hons as a advocate for people with disabilities in my old life and also a manager, without knowing more information, just based on what you have told me, your brother's boss doesn't have a leg to stand on. He has made an assessment of his fitness to work without getting occupational health and safety involved, he doesn't seem to have gotten HR involved & if he had they would have told him a) to get occ health involved & b) to tell your brother the reduction of hours with either a union rep or other personally chosen representative for your brother. These are all requirements for any employees, whether disabled or not. Anyone could faint at work, it's freaking hot. This actually makes my blood boil, regardless of disability, where is the care for the staff these days. DH was about to right one of his staff off because he has RSI, I know the guy & I know regardless of what sick pay he would get, not working would make him really depressed. So I got DH to sort out occ. Health for him and to look at voice recognition technology to help him do his job (which involved lots of coding). Low and behold there is lots available out there, that with just a little investment from the company would help this guy keep working.
right rant over, but one last thing Hons, it might be worth contacting an autism charity to see what advice and support they can give. Maybe they could go to the workplace and talk to the manager and staff about working with someone with Autism. There are a lot of misconceptions out there and a little knowledge can help reduce bullying and help everyone.
Lady I hope you pass the next test. At least there is no study involved. Have a relaxing time in Corfu. Sorry about the effort to get there. If possible give yourself ample time to get to the airport & take a lot of deep breaths. The girls will be fine, I've had my boys doing 24hr + flights and arriving at crazy hours without barely a grumble. The excitement of the arrival will keep them going.
So I'm off here for a week and you ladies are flashing your bits all over, really tut tut.
Kayz you poor thing, I'm useless with uncontrolled weeping. I actually am really fearing the last day of school here before we go home, the dutch don't show much emotion, but I am a very emotional person so I know I will blub.
Speaking of which, only crossing fingers for now, but DH is in advanced talks with a company about an awesome job in Australia, which, as they say in the game, is location independent. Basically, he will work from home when he is not on site. So we can live in Brisbane. I'm chuffed to bits, I was quite worried, due to the nature of his industry in Australia, that he would be taking a step back and doing quite mundane stuff, but this is a very juicy job. The nice bit is, he met the managing director for this group when he was here selling the product to the company DH works for here, & during the meeting they fell in love. It's a little bromance. The manager has had him speak to all the others he needs to and they all love him too. So sweet.
Gosh I have gone on already. And I haven't even told you about our little holiday last week. oh and more importantly. I'm coming to London on the 6th to 10th August & I've arranged to fly out of Stansted on the 10th so I can possibly meet up with young Beans. Anyone else in the area?
