Hi All

We have had an unutterably horrid 24 hours. Our lovely aupair's father was killed driving home from the Germany match (in Germany where she's from) She only found out about the accident yesterday and he was still alive at that point, we rushed to get her a flight home but she was too late. She's a lovely girl and so close to her family and it all seems very cruel. She hadnt seen him since christmas and was so looking forward to seeing him over the summer.

DD1 is beside herself with sorrow at having lost her beloved au pair so suddenly and she doesn't even know about the death yet. I'm dreading telling her. Life is bloody horrid sometimes.

Oh cripes Arti. That is absolutely horrible.

Oh Arti, I'm so sorry to hear that and for your au pair. it hurts my heart for her. and horrid for you guys too as I'm sure you are feeling devastated on her behalf.

Thanks all. Veg, they told her Weds, the accident was late Tues night. We didn't get her home 'till Thurs. it was just all so horribly sudden.

I do want to catch-up properly, maybe even rival LadyT's post, but it's all chaos with sad kids, no childcare, the school holidays looming and no childcare but work to the very end of the month.

Lady, I hope your breathing has not bothered you again. That sounds horrid. We are off to Greece too for the first two weeks of Aug. then the Alps with CD and her boys. I am sooo excited! Could you do a lunch or coffee at my work when up for one of your appointments next week?

Holidays sounds like just what you need Arti. Might be up near your work one day soon - our good friend keeps inviting us up to the H of C for a drink :)

Back later. Frantic today with dd's sports day and still sorting this house. Garden is wilting. Parents here last 3 weeks of Aug or so Lady - Will catch up later with proper post as need to get on.

School swimming lessons (3x10 reception kids) followed by walking 4 year olds to nursery leavers lunch at pizza express! Managed to eat 80% of dds pizza. All that was missing was a lovely chilled glass of Sauvignon blanc. Enjoying a bit of left over Prosecco now! (That's right I had left overs)
Back on the bike to get ds in a min. Luckily after all the pizza consumed.

Been riding everywhere then once take car to Argos and someone hit me while parked and knocks the back light out. Did t even notice until dh saw it. Someone would have seen them do it. Makes me mad.

I like the idea of a nursery leavers pizza express lunch! Very nice! Is dd excited about starting school rubes?

Apart from beans dd2 are there any other starters this year? Summer's dd will too I think. It only seems two minutes since our December 08ers went into reception.

It was the boys summer concert today. DS1's last one at this school. I can't believe he is moving.

Dreading Friday, I am going to cry.

When breastfeeding always a good idea to check you have put the boobs away when finished otherwise the slightly strange looks you get while walking around hobby craft won't be because you are balancing the whole store on top of the buggy it will be the nipple showing quite clearly through the v thin white top you are wearing.

Oops! We've all done something similar Jam if that's any comfort.

Aww Kayz is he going to middle school? Is it on the same site?

Has everyone had a report? We got a learning journal book full of nice photos like you get at nursery but nothing 'report' like.

Yes Hons he is going to the Junior school. It's not on the same site. It's about 15 minutes walk. Not quite sure how it will all work in September for dropping off and picking up.

No report here yet, although I'm expecting it today or tomorrow.

Just bent over at work and split my pants. Arse literally hanging out . Managed to make if back to my desk and tie cardigan around waist before anyone noticed ha ha! Quick dash home to change before getting the DCs. I may have list wright but it would seem not enough!!
