Ok Wanda Grin Your garage is probably bigger than our house anyway Grin

ValiumQueen · 01/06/2014 17:30

We too had a cooked breakfast for lunch in freshly baked bread rolls Smile

Pikz · 01/06/2014 17:31

Could we turn wandas garages into a commune?

Wandathewindfairy · 01/06/2014 18:21

Hmmm, it could be feasible. It has a beer and wine fridge after all.

Wandathewindfairy · 01/06/2014 18:28

My main problem is lidl is 20 mins one way, and Asda is 20 minutes InThe other direction and the Tesco is tiny as is the Asda. I really need to get myself organised. It's a time thing you see. I could go to Lidl when I go to toddlers on a Friday but if I go before the shopping sits in the car, if I go after O would fall asleep In The car and I wouldn't get my jobs time when he sleeps in his cot. And it seems silly to go to the town In the morning and come back and then go back.

And seeing as I have been busy busy the last couple of months it was always going to have to be an internet shop.

I must sort it next week though.

PetiteRaleuse · 01/06/2014 19:08

Dinner tonight: one thick slice of fresh bread buttered. Another slice spread with ketchup. Three sausages squashed in between them and a glass of yesterday's ancient wine.

It was delicious.

Passmethecrisps · 01/06/2014 19:36

My word that sounds good pr.

We now do our shop almost exclusively in aldi. Odd bits and pieces come from sainsbury's but mainly aldi. We need to get organised though as we are dreadful for popping in to sainsbury's for one thing and ending up spending £30.

DH was working today so it has been a girl's Sunday. A trip to aldi this morning where p was a total star staying in the trolley the whole time quite happy to sniff the basil exclaiming 'mmmmmmmm!'

Then home for cooking. I made 10 portions of cottage pie, pork and beef meatballs and a Mediterranean vegetable pasta sauce.

A lovely day hampered on very slightly by an annoying sinus infection.

ValiumQueen · 01/06/2014 19:49

Wanda cool box/bag?

YellowWellies · 01/06/2014 20:08

We're Aldi for basics, then Tesco for dairy free bits or maybe Asda if I'm off to my sisters. I can get us down to £70 a week including nappies and pet food or cleaning products but not all at once. Meal planning is key here. And we only have 2-3 meat based meals.

Domino's stayed down. Clearly the Dunfermline branch is just minging. Boak!

I had a 'mum to be' spa day at Peebles hydro from my lovely boys who joined me in the pool and for lunch. J was making doe eyes, waving loud "hiyas" and blowing kisses at all the old dears! He won a few fans Smile . I feel fab and love DH for being awesome.

Evening all :) Hope everyone has had a good weekend, I shall read and post, as I do. Not been too bad here, E has been quite miserable today, not sure if it's solely been the heat or his teeth too. Or maybe just one of those days? Anyway, yesterday was quite a busy one, and today we had MIL and her dp for dinner, was very nervous cooking and managed as best as I could on a mostly broken cooker, but apparently t'was nice! E wouldn't eat any of it BUT he did eat most of a ham sandwich and for a boy that doesn't like sandwiches that's pretty good going I reckon! The lasagne I did yesterday went down REALLY well with dp :) this pleases me as I am convinced I can't cook very well at all, but so far i'm doing ok!

I am planning on another and would try using them, pp I'll look into it again now we're in our own home.

Thanks for the lunch ideas pp :)

shall look at the youtube channel pr :)

I mentioned lunch Pass I just wanted a bit of inspiration, and t'was me who mentioned fish, so thanks for the fish cakes idea too :) I'll get there i'm sure :) Today I offered him a ham sandwich in cubes as he just removes the middle and throws the bread if I give it any bigger, and some sticks of cucumber/bits of tomato/cubes of cheese/breadsticks type stuff and he ate relatively well, and had some pudding. Usually I avoid lunches like this as he throws most of it but today I just thought you know what, throw it if you like but at least I tried. Then I wibbled in the corner and tried not to fret. I did ok.

sounds like a fab exhibition eliza :) the pics you shared were fab!

hope you get plenty of sleep now bp!

how was the wine pr?

you're doing fab vq glad you've made progress with your DH :) You have also given me a kick up the arse to look at my own finances, I am going to try to have a frugal June. I love the word frugal! Well, a bit less spendy anyway. I'd give aldi a go again but it's quite, i don't know, I feel quite rushed when i'm in there and i never know what i'm doing/what to get etc, even with a list. Odd really. I have shopping ordered for Weds till Tues next week so I may try going to Aldi for the week after and then topping up at Tesco or something.

Love that image of J yw with his toy pushchair :)

Aw zamboni your saturday sounds fantabulous, a really lovely day :)

Sounds like plenty of lovely days were had, great stuff Grin

nomnom pr your brunch sounds lush, and I quite fancy your dinner now too. See this is my problem, I'm pretty much a food person, I thoroughly enjoy the stuff and have little self control! I have been much better since moving in here though!

sounds like a tough day lily has o gone to bed now so you can have some rest?

Time for some 24 and a bit of salad am ignoring dp scoffing cake, i will be strong

Passmethecrisps · 01/06/2014 20:57

Your lunch sounds grand kyz! Good work on that and the lasagne. Hopefully little E is back on form tomorrow.

QQ ladies. I fancy making a Nigel slater curry recipe tomorrow but it needs double cream. I don 'to want to buy any but I do have coconut milk. Can I just swap it out?

PurplePidjin · 01/06/2014 21:44

I'm here, been to IL's for the weekend. MIL did me plantain and fried egg for breakfast :o and R slept after 10 minutes of hysterics and 10 minutes of me breaking my back leaning over the travel cot from 6:30 to 5:30 :o then MIL got him up at 6 so he was ready for his nap at 9:30 Hmm but we got him to sleep 2-3 in the car and he had a fab time in the garden with his big cousins and some of their friends :o then he spent 1h35 of the 1h45 drive staring out of the car window so tonight could be either complete shite or he'll sleep 8:45-8:45 and I'll be a new woman Hmm

PurplePidjin · 01/06/2014 21:48

PS R has spent a large amount of his time nappy free. He has produced multiple wet and dirty nappies but has not at any point messed on either MIL or SIL's carpets :o I'm fairly sure that's why he couldn't sleep on the way home - I stopped half way and changed him, nappy was damp but not sodden so i think he must have waited till it was on to go - he was naked from 4:30 when we got in from a birthday party till 7 when we left; no accidents, yet had a dampening by the time we hit the motorway (his usual place to nod off)

YellowWellies · 01/06/2014 22:25

Pass I would. All curries here in DF Central swap cream or yogurt for coconut milk and they're still yum Smile

PurplePidjin · 02/06/2014 07:45

morning all am i the first up??

Pikz · 02/06/2014 07:46

Hiya PP. I'm at work

ValiumQueen · 02/06/2014 07:49

As if PP. Our day starts at 5 usually.

ValiumQueen · 02/06/2014 07:50

Crumbs Pikz that is impressive!

ValiumQueen · 02/06/2014 07:51

I have fond memories of plantain bought from Electric Avenue in Brixton GrinGrinGrin

PurplePidjin · 02/06/2014 08:18

i was just Shock that nobody had posted since 22:25!

my local corner shop sells it vq

fruitpastilles · 02/06/2014 08:20

Morning Smile

We've been up since 5:15, between 5 and 5:30 seems to be the new norm Hmm I thought it was bad enough when it was 6.
Dp had a week off work last week and S keeps standing by the front door this morning crying for him, she's always been a daddy's girl, but even more so with having him here all week. Likewise, he's phoned 3 times already to see what she's doing Grin

Today I will mostly be catching up on the housework. I honestly don't know what happens when dp is here, but I've gone from having a relatively tidy house to an absolute pit.

Elizadoesdolittle · 02/06/2014 09:01

Same here fruit. Although DH was at work DD1 was on half term so we've been out loads. I never understand how the house can get in such a tip when we've hardly been here!

Wandathewindfairy · 02/06/2014 09:07

fruit my house is always a tip at the weekend and really tidy in the week when DH is at work. Confused one would imagine with two adults to keep on top of stuff it would be tidier.

BigPigLittlePig · 02/06/2014 10:22

Ditto.

Back on night shifts tonight, our day began at 6.10 Confused Really hope I sleep when F naps!

Have just had a v enjoyable hour or so moving dsds room around, tis all clean and tidy now Smile

F had her first night without sleeping bag, and with duvet. Seemed ok, she was nice and warm when I went in this morning. She is a proper little girl now, v unbabyish.

BigPigLittlePig · 02/06/2014 10:29

So far today, F has had a weetabix, banana, 7 or 8 strawberries, slice of toast and is now tucking into some organix animal biscuits. This is heaps for her! She has also started sort of panic eating, eg. putting all the strawberries in at once, bam bam bam, as though she's scared someones going to steal them. Do any of the other babies do this?
