Never had a temp? Wow Pass! I think in two weeks time it will be the pox as it is doing the rounds

ValiumQueen · 23/05/2014 05:58

As a general rule of thumb Pass, temps up to 38 can be left unmediated if toddler is not in distress, indeed it is good for them to have a temp to fight the bug. Over 38 I medicate as mine vom and get very distressed with it. Mine have all had temps up to 40 and just over, and that is terrifying, but I am getting used to it. Febrile convulsions are more to do with the rapid climb in temp rather than the very high temp.

The highest temps both my girls have had were just prior to the pox, and there were no other symptoms like a cough or streaming nose.

It sounds as if P is coping admirably. She is a tough little cookie like her Mummy. It is very reassuring if they are bright and active. When they have a vacant look or are delirious, that is horrid. I have only once called an ambulance (at home anyway) and that was with DD1 as her temp was through the roof, she was slipping in and out of consciousness, and she didn't recognise me. The little sod was fine by the time they arrived, and I felt such a tit. They were lovely though, and said they would rather come out 99 times 'unnecessarily' than miss one little one who was seriously ill.

Zamboni · 23/05/2014 06:23

Sorry for high temp Pass.

Glad you had a good night Wanda.

I was working! V important marketing work which will result in lots of new actual work. I picked a specialism where marketing is vair important and I have to do a lot. Purely with the strategy of winning work in mind. I'm just lucky that I get to do some fun stuff Grin

Paisleychick · 23/05/2014 07:19

Oh I understand now Stunt

GTbaby · 23/05/2014 09:29

Shit night here. A is snotty and teething. Top two teeth have the pre eruption blister. H never had this thing with the blisters. Or I never looked maybe.
Anyway he was up in night had to calpol because he wouldn't settle, finally got him to sleep then fh getting up for work at 5.30 woke him up for the day. It's only 9 and I'm ready for bed

StuntNun · 23/05/2014 10:05

If it's any consolation GT I did go back to bed this morning... only to be woken up by the doorbell Confused

Morning. I bloody hope the weather picks up for my weekend away tomorrow. Grrr.

Guests for four days next weekend. Need to menu plan.

GTbaby · 23/05/2014 10:48

H had a strop as I gave A calpol but not him. I'm so tiered I can't face doing anything. I'm just falling asleep on sofa.
Waiting for A to have a nap. Then can let H play in garden. And I can try to sort lunch. He doesn't like being in garden alone so may be tricky.

The shred DVD is just taunting me. Think ill have a nap with the boys during afternoon and do the DVD when fh gets back. As he promised he will take H out to give me a break and get him out.
Stunt can you put a note in the door?

PurplePidjin · 23/05/2014 12:28

Morning all Brew

GTbaby · 23/05/2014 13:17

Oh no pp. you too. Bad nights. I did consider at 4am if I should give up trying to get A to sleep and crochet a couple 6inch hugs instead.

Had a mini arghhhh when I looked at clock and it showed noon and did a jig when realised the clock has stopped/slowed down! It was almost 1. Woop.

Today H choose Cheerios. Well he pointed at weetabix then got annoyed when I took Cheerios away. With milk. But he was in a mood half hour later asking for biscuit so I gave him toast which I managed to feed him most of.

He had a a lil bit of his eggy bread, a few crisps and a yoghurt. And milk. Hoping filling him up with milk will mean he won't wake up hungry and in a mood.

MorningConfused

Well, pr the chicken and asparagus baked risotto when down really well with grown ups and kids,, I did bruschetta for starters, but when they arrived then the risotto with bread and salad for main then this meringue strawberry layer cake for pud, it was (except the bruschetta) a very English Summer meal and a lot of prep could be done In advance so I just had to do the glamorous bits when everyone arrived.

I think we will just be fish and chips tonight, curled up with a film.

PurplePidjin · 23/05/2014 13:29

Not as bad as the last 2 but nappies at 12 and 6:30, and a resettle at 5

He's just waking from his nap, but I've done my little sewing project and cleared the machine away so I get to go to my favourite haberdashery and look at pretty ribbons this afternoon :o

StuntNun · 23/05/2014 13:44

Nope GT it was my mum!

ditsygal · 23/05/2014 13:46

Morning all PP can I share them matchsticks?!

A bad night here. THe first one in a month so I can't complain, except I thought maybe we were over random wakings now that he self settles in his cot at bedtime. But nope 2 hours last night I was up with him, from 2am-4am the little sod screamed everytime I tried to sneak back out his room. And I am doing the 5, 2 diet and today is a fast day, so very little food and very little sleep. Cbeebies is worth its weight in gold right now!

PetiteRaleuse · 23/05/2014 15:15

Would love the risotto recipe wanda pretty please. Sounds very nice and oven baked is a bonus :) Thursday is a bank holiday here so won't be able to spend hours cooking as the kids will be around.

ChasingDaisy · 23/05/2014 16:38

Afternoon quiche,

Sorry to hear of bad nights Brew

Today I am feeling like the wickedest mummy in the west. Have just got home from dropping O off with XMIL as he is staying with XP Fri and Sat night this week. He sobbed and sobbed when I left, even though he adores his grandma, which broke me heart. I'm not sure if it helped or made it worse that I had today off work so we spent a lovely morning together, which we never get to do anymore. I hate feeling like I abandoning him on a daily basis. And the reason for my desertion today? I'm off galavanting tonight Hmm The company I work for has a new nightclub opening tonight so head office are going down en masse to get the VIP treatment. So it is technically a work event, which I am expected to attend, but bloody hell I feel crap about It.

Wandathewindfairy · 23/05/2014 17:42

Oh chasingdon't feel bad. It is great to get out socially with your work colleagues it us how you will develop a little network and you know
O will be fine. Thanks

What are you wearing?

Wandathewindfairy · 23/05/2014 17:43

I will onto the risotto recipe and send over pr

ChasingDaisy · 23/05/2014 18:01

Ha, what I am wearing has been the subject of much debate between me and Lily (she hates it Wink) - leather look leggings Grin

PurplePidjin · 23/05/2014 18:11

After all that, I fear I've fucked up bedtime! Went off on our jaunt to the haberdashery, came home via Sainsburys but I lost track of time as he wasn't screaming apart from a couple of minutes when I wouldn't allow him to eat his tee shirts and insisted that breadsticks are better so we didn't even get home until 4:40 Shock managed to tickle his tea into him, established that he really doesn't like Timmy Time, quick splash in the bath and he went quiet about 10 minutes ago. FX I haven't fucked the whole night Hmm He hasn't weed all afternoon even on the floor at nappy-free time so I expect I'll be back up to change his bum in a couple of hours. He did, however, ask to go to the toilet while we were at playgroup this morning although as it was 5 minutes after I'd changed a sodden nappy, I wasn't surprised when he didn't produce anything. Still, progress if he's asking! And I had a nice chat with another mum whose lad is over a year older but is also potty training and it seems as if we're doing the same things. Although I'm putting no pressure on him at all, just giving him the choice iyswim.

Wandathewindfairy · 23/05/2014 18:39

Oooooeeeeee. What with? What do they look like? What do you wear on your feet?

It is on trend is it not?

ChasingDaisy · 23/05/2014 19:07

Depending how it looks, I will post a piccie later. But I am wearing black, heeled shoe boots and an oversized white shirt, with gold jewellery.

Elizadoesdolittle · 23/05/2014 19:17

I'd wear that if I could get away with it chasing no hope for me now!. And don't feel guilty. I know it's not easy as seems to come with the mummy territory but really, don't.

Qq to those that use the app. Are yours working okay? Mine keeps saying connection failed. I have tried reinstalling but still the same.

I'll log on again later on laptop.

YellowWellies · 23/05/2014 19:52

Eliza my android app has been unable to connect for two days now. Am having to log on via the website. Boo!

Elizadoesdolittle · 23/05/2014 20:03

Thanks yw. Stupid thing. I know the app isn't great but I find it so much easier than logging into the website using my phone.

DH just arrived with fish and chips yum. Am eating so much lately. I seem to constantly be hungry!
