Eurgh. *there were. Not 'there was'

Shatteredmamma1 · 15/06/2014 20:10

Happy birthday something ! Cake Wine

dolicapax · 15/06/2014 21:34

This cannot be happening. Not only have I gone of tea... peanut butter is history as well Shock.... but pork scratchings stop me feeling sick Confused

I'm turning into a stereotype Grin

Happy Birthday Something Cake

dolicapax · 15/06/2014 21:35

of??? Off of course!

ecofreckle · 15/06/2014 21:59

Hello something and happy birthday! Your cake looks awesome. The thing of my dreams. I love the idea of your lovely boy having a cuddle and
twiddling your hair. Sweet!

Doli thanks for those ideas. I wonder whether the extension may be less likely due to their mortgage offer having spanned this period of time where new regulations came it. I'll explore that. Our IFA been speaking to my sister today as they use him too. They're looking at options. I don't think there are many or any. We've drawn up eight possible ways forward and have
discounted two so far. We're heading away tomorrow as there no longer seems a rush to pack up the house. Sounds to me as if your wise body is calling the shots for fatty protein. Lovely combo. You'll be munching on coal and soil next Shock

Shattered and Wotta I fear with our reduced holiday period and your work we'll be unable to hook up this time Sad If you happen by puddletown this week let me know!

Stormy cute factor here is wandering around like that boy from snoopy with her head tucked into her bunny and sucking her thumb. Dancing is pretty cool too. We can now do three moves: side to side shuffle, hands up and pumping or bum squat. I'm also loving wellies and shorts as a look. How's DSIL been?

Yummy that sounds frustrating. Good to get an answer though. How's he feeling.

Low key fathers day here. There's been beer, football, lovely food and bickering about which shite option of those available to us we should take house wise I think he's just happy to be with his girl after not seeing her for a week. They had plenty of fun together whilst I took the chance to do some overdue work. The salted caramel went down very well. Envy

WottaMess · 15/06/2014 22:10

Passes Doli a gherkin...

yummychocolate · 15/06/2014 22:11

Happy birthday something

Anyone fed up with the football yet? 3 bloody matches in one day.

eco ds is actually quite ok thank you. He has had the odd scratch as 2 have scabbed over. I gave him antihistimine to help with the itching. Ive read it can make him drowsy but it hasn't worked with him. He had 9pm bedtime again.

I have had a productive day of cleaning the fridge and feel a bit better.

WottaMess · 15/06/2014 22:12

X post.

Passes Eco a Wine

yummychocolate · 15/06/2014 22:15

Oh doli. I feel for you. The baby has clearly had enough of peanut butter. Soon you will craving food you would never eat. Mine was milk and it helped my heartburn.

Out of interest in the hot weather where do you store your peanut butter? Mine is really soft in kitchen cupboard and tastes a bit yucky.

WottaMess · 15/06/2014 22:16

I defrosted the freezer yesterday. Sadly it was because I found the door had not been shut properly since Wednesday and do I had to bin an entirely rammed freezer full of food. I actually cried.

WottaMess · 15/06/2014 22:17

Glad to hear chicken pox is on the mend.

Plonkysaurus · 16/06/2014 11:47

No pb Doli? I'm mortified! Actually I'm in the same boat. I'm low-carbing again for a bit and peanuts = legume. Thankfully almond butter is fine, phew! Oh well, just look forward to a huge mound of pb on a doorstep slice of granary in February. Or just a tbsp of the stuff!

How's it going anyway? Did you book a scan?

Eco does this mean you're backtracking on your house sale? Or is that not an option? Must be lovely to have DH back with you both. I'm always amazed at the calming effect of having a non-babbling, potty trained adult around. Going anywhere nice? The break sounds lovely.

Yummy I think for most kids chicken pox is a hurty, boring few days but mostly flash in the pan.
Hope he's recovered soon. And hey, when he does start nursery or whatever you choose, he'll be well ard.

Stormy I had a dream that you'd name changed. To 'StatinsandPainkillersAreNotQualityofLife'. Except you'd spelled it 'staytens', but I still understood .

I'm so sick of the World Cup. It made us miss Fargo last night, my current fave TV. 3 matches a night for like a month...kill me now? Oh well, at least I'm getting through them books what I like.

It's dp's stag this weekend so on Friday ds, DSis and I are flouncing down to my parents place in Dorset. Except he's 15 months and she's about 27 weeks preggo. Wonder how many stops we'll have to make on that journey!

OP posts:
dolicapax · 16/06/2014 18:27

Yummy I'm already craving food I never eat, on the basis everything I usually eat appears to be inedible at the current time. Pork scratching, sausage rolls, and supermarket lasagne. So in summary salt and grease. I am so sick of feeling sick. Please tell me this will end soon I know it won't

Not booked a scan yet Plonky I'll wait until 8 weeks. They can't see a lot before then so there doesn't seem much point, and I don't want to book it too early in case I don't make it to 8 weeks. Realist here. I'm a bit ancient, and last time was a bit hairy scary at the outset.

Not much else to report here, other than I feel sick. Did I mention that already? Bleurghhhh

Wotta I feel your pain. Happened to me once, kind of. The freezer had simply upped clogs and died on me... whilst packed to the gills with peas I had lovingly grown, picked, podded, bagged and frozen. Literally months of work. I may have kicked it. I have also never grown peas again. Or any vegetable for that matter.

Just discovered a good friend's DH is having an affair . Sometime I hate men. In fact often I hate men. Why are all the 'nice' ones, the 'ones who'd never do that' often absolute ar5es. I am losing count of the 'nice family' men who have done this. I guess I'm at the age where it happens. My last words on this are when you are 40, if your DH goes a bit cold and 'stressed at work' on you, kick him out and ask questions later.

And on a lighter note, the toddle is chatting to DH and it is very very cute.

StormyBrid · 16/06/2014 19:20

doli definitely stay away from the Feb 2015 group for a while yet. In these early days a fair few posters have had bad news there already, and probably more will. There's realism and then there's needlessly working yourself into a great big fretting heap of salty sausage rolly panic.

New word today: ball! Except Fartypants isn't very good at final consonants, so when she says it she sounds like she's from the East End.

Gerrythetootallgiraffeswife · 17/06/2014 08:04

Today's lesson learnt: don't try to cut your own daighter's fringe. She'll end up looking like a 1970s Soviet gymnast.

Gerrythetootallgiraffeswife · 17/06/2014 08:06

Daighter? Daughter obvs.

yummychocolate · 17/06/2014 10:47

gerry we cut ds hair and it's uneven from all the moving around he did. Don't worry it grows out quickly.

ecofreckle · 17/06/2014 11:47

Ha ha Gerry. Seventies soviet gymnast is a good strong look for a toddle! Photos on Facebook please Smile

Doli you poor thing. It feels relentless at this stage doesn't it. Have you had chance to retreat and loll around in bed watching nonsense on I player or is that not your style? Each hour that passes is an hour closer to that blooming second trimester when you will look and feel invincible.

Plonky we did decide to just call it all off. We are the terrible people that feature on TV property programmes who ruin other people's property dreams Sad It was beyond sad calling our agents and telling them they had to tell the enthusiastic first time buyers who'd waited patiently for five months for our house that they couldn't have it. And to call the man whose hovel we were buying and
say the same. And the removal company. Blah blah blah. We Decided to come to Dorset to lick our wounds and bury our heads in the sand for a few days. And you're right, it is divine to have my man back! How many week now plonk? It's our anniversary today and I'm needing a wedding fix!

Yummy a clean fridge makes you feel virtuous doesn't it! It's the last thing I do before leaving to go on holiday. Couldn't possibly enjoy myself knowing there's a dirty fridge back home Shock

Wotta I too have suffered that freezer crap. Full of lovingly made healthy stuff. Bum it.

Stormy I've been saying ball in a London accent all morning.

So I'm sat in a sunny courtyard in a dress dh gave me as an anniversary present about to start a jigsaw (therapy for me) whilst I look at the hollyhocks and roses nestling under the thatch. It's not too shabby a place to be to lick wounds shame about the puking baby and dodgy bug I seem to have picked up

StormyBrid · 17/06/2014 11:49

I had to do Fartypants's fringe the other week. She was starting to look like a sheepdog. Terrifying, isn't it? One wrong move and it's goodbye eyeball.

There was a tiny squishy newborn at our baby group today! He was so lovely and tiny and squishy and adorable and I want one!

Shatteredmamma1 · 17/06/2014 20:45

Ah eco wotta shame we won't see you (do you see what I did there?!) Grin glad you're enjoying your time away with DH.
Soviet fringes sound interesting gerry! How near is The Jump now?!
Can't remember anything else! Just back from work Sad hope everyone ok Smile

yummychocolate · 17/06/2014 21:29

eco i misread your post I thought you said you was watching hollyoaks and I never thought you was that type.Smile sounds like you had a lovely relaxing day. You took me back to when I got a 1000 piece puzzle of the world to do when I was on mat leave. Of course I gave up and dh refused to give up until it was all pieced together.

shattered sounds like you had a long day at work.

betty how is dd at nights now? I know I am being smug but ds slept from 11-6am last night. It didn't stop me from waking up though.

plonky you are a brave woman for doing that journey with a toddler and pregnant lady. Hope it all goes well. Pack empty bottles to piss in and nappy bags to be sick in for your dsis and lots of toys for ds.

Anypants · 17/06/2014 23:41

It's all occurring here, hey?

Eco sorry about your house shenanigans - it sucks that there's no way round it but I'm a great believer in everything happening for a reason so there must be something amazing waiting around the bend.

Doli a constant intake of mini cheddars was my vice for helping me not to puke for three months. Salt, cheese and biscuits? Yum.

Hello to everyone else (on phone and can only remember those two points)

Oh, and DD is all about giving me a ball then throwing her head back and going 'oh' so I will throw the ball up. Rinse and repeat infinitum. Oh, and some very enthusiastic rocking horsing - I swear she's going to go over it's head any day now... Along with the mountaineering of the furniture and windowsills Confused she's all about being a stunt woman I reckon.

Happy Wine Wednesday (in 20 mins) Grin

Plonkysaurus · 18/06/2014 09:44

Wow Any sounds like she's keeping you very much on your toes. How are things with DH these days? I take it no news is good news.

Yummy it's a very ambitious journey, isn't it? But we'll be off there after the wedding too, so it'll be good to have already done it and know where to stop etc. Thankfully DSis has 'only' suffered the all-day nausea, and not actually been sick this pregnancy, so not too worried on that front!

Love the thought of Eco sitting down to a Hollyoaks marathon. I would make a joke but I have no clue what happens in that programme.

Doli glad to hear all is well. Keep those feet up eh? Sounds like you don't have too much choice though (maybe it's a boy this time? Grin )

Very proud of DS this morning. Not only did he hold up a puzzle piece of a duck and say 'quack' (we have a lot of animal sounds now) but he went off to nursery HAPPILY. We went in, I felt the familiar guilty pangs and nerves that he would Not Be Put Down, and all three keyworkers were giving much younger babies their bottles. He proudly held Monkey aloft, declared 'iya' ('Hiya' I think, bloody Derbys accent) and sat down happily.

I'm sharing this for all of you who know what it's like to drop your wailing kid off and worry about it every morning. They get over it. Or maybe he's just BSing me and we'll be crying again tomorrow.

rainbowtoddle · 18/06/2014 10:33

eco house situation is so stressful but hopefully you will find the right way forward for you all. In the meantime your relaxation time in the garden sounds like bliss!

plonky animal noises are so lovely aren't they? DD has quite a few now with meowing being the favourite. She is also saying one or two new words everyday. This morning the new word was snowman or "noma noma" which she found a picture of on an old vest we were putting in a pile of clothes to pass on to a friend. We also had a first 'sentence' yesterday of "bye bye bye dada". I love this stage - you can see the happiness in her when she gets her message across. However walking is still frustrating her greatly with regular howls of range when she lands on her bottom yet again!

doli I highly recommend graze boxes for those early pregnancy snacking to keep sick feel away. They get posted to you at whatever frequency you want and I would slowly munch on them through the day when I couldn't face other food. Yummy but healthy too!

StormyBrid · 18/06/2014 13:00

Did I mention Fartypants came out with a donkey noise last week? Shame she hasn't repeated it, I was in stitches. Today's new word is an approximation of advert, while pointing excitedly at the telly.

Aside from the verbal delights she's being a right grumpy bugger at the moment. When's the next wonder week?
