Horrific night. Been up since 3am.

Now for work. Oh joy.

Wandathewindfairy · 12/05/2014 07:26

Oh nopikz is it your first day back as well? How did he sleep when you were away?

fatima I have the same problem. But hear how she dis's people who can't do jumping jacks. So I grit my teeth pull it in and get on with it. I am thinking of bracing myself and going to the gp about it, just to put my mind at rest. hopefully

pp O doesn't do any animal noises to speak of so I wouldn't worry. I'm not Smile

Think I need to do five days fast, 2 days normal this week never mind the other way round.

Pikz · 12/05/2014 07:40

I struggle with jumping jacks too Fatima

Yep wanda am stationary on m3. He slept really well while we were away but he's got jetlag and the house is a hell hole at moment. So he's not been sleeping.

Roll on hopefully getting pregnant some time soon and going on mat leave.

Wandathewindfairy · 12/05/2014 07:55

Presumably you are going for it now big time pikz

PetiteRaleuse · 12/05/2014 08:05

Morning quiche. Sorry to hear about bad nights.

My boobs are an endless source of fascination for both mine. LO is just interesting and DD1 wants to know why she doesn't have big boobies like mummy and daddy Hmm :o

BigPigLittlePig · 12/05/2014 08:35

Going for it Grin

For solidarities sake, we were also up for the day at 4.40 Envy

Is this the 18m regression? Whatever it is, if it could kindly do one that would be just fab.

PetiteRaleuse · 12/05/2014 09:45

Feeling so productive. Today I have done the nursery drop off, paid their fees, been to the post office in Lux and sent off my tax declaration, been to Germany to stock up on nappies and toiletries, done two loads of washing and cleaned the kitchen. I also went and had another look at the house I have my eye on now I know which one it is exactly. I still love it but the hill up to it is so steep it may be tricky in winter. The garden backs onto the primary school though. And the school only has 30 pupils !!!

In an hour I am off to enroll DD1 in our village school. Am also going to phone the agency for the house and put myself out of my misery and see if it is worth going for or if we should stay here.

GTbaby · 12/05/2014 10:20

3.6k. Mostly walking but 1k was a jog. 41min Confused very slow. BUT I now have a starting point. So my aim in another month is to add another lap of the park to that time. So rather then jog one lap I want to be able to jog 3 laps. Grin

YellowWellies · 12/05/2014 11:52

Wah good luck PR it does sound very exciting.

GT you've got to start somewhere - good for you lovely! Get the couch to 5k app on your phone to make sure you don't overdo it in the first few weeks as it is easy to damage your feet and ankles if you've not done much running in a while. Take this from a woman who broke a bone in her foot by upping my mileage per week too far too fast just because it felt ok to my cardiovascular system (it clearly didn't to my feet)! I got a fractured metatarsal (footballers injury!) admittedly I was barefoot running.... Couch to 5k starts really gentle and will build you up safely and left me with a fab sense of achievement after each run.

Pikz · 12/05/2014 11:55

Woweee PR that's going some!

Well done GT!

Yep wanda we would like ASAP and no infertility roadmap but we shall see. Will have to keep a PMA but already feel a little disappointed at no honeymoon baby which is ridiculous! I have had to promise DP that if it doesn't work I will not put my body through the total mill to get there but it's hard when I want it soooo bad

Wandathewindfairy · 12/05/2014 12:23

I know is hard pikz but be gentle with yourself.

Wow gt that is v good. Was it with pushchair or without?

PetiteRaleuse · 12/05/2014 12:23

School enrollment done. Now just got to wait and see if I have to unenroll her and put her elsewhere. Agent calling me this afternoon.

Nuisance thing is the French education system require you to have the BCG jab which isn't obligatory in Lux so I need to get that done by September. Poor kids. (I know you guys get to opt out of various jabs but we don't. Well, we can, but the school system won't let them in so would have to homeschool which would be My Worst Nightmare :o )

Going to pass the time til I get the phone call folding clothes and dreaming about living in the vineyards.

Sensible me says don't move. Wait a couple of years til we can afford to buy and then move to that area. I have fallen in love with that area. My health issues and my DH's age mean banks are unwilling to lend us too much € which is fair enough.

But.... If we wait that would disrupt the girls' education. And I would have to deal with my arsehole neighbours several more years.

YellowWellies · 12/05/2014 12:24

Pikz good luck lovely. It's a bit counterintuitive but I've always found unprotected sex followed by a few wild nights out of heavy drinking (so when you get a BFP you go OMG poor little thing!) seems to work. Blush I hope it happens soon but that you have lots of fun trying in the meantime xxx

PetiteRaleuse · 12/05/2014 12:34

(((Hugs))) pikz

Conception is very often easier second time round. DD1 took me two years and two mcs incl quite a late one then hormone supplements to aid conception and help the bean stick. Just a pill a day from the last mc to week 12 of pg. DD2 far quicker Hmm we were a little Shock though I had to take the hormones again from bfp to 12 weeks.

Unfortunately the medecine I took is banned in the UK and US. Not sure why.

I hope you get your bfp soon.

Passmethecrisps · 12/05/2014 13:17

Good luck pikz lots of hugs

Well, ageing pussy has been dropped off for her 3 week stint of radioiodine treatment. Frankly I think she will enjoy the peace and quiet! We will miss her little furry face though

YellowWellies · 12/05/2014 13:21

Pass what's wrong with her?

Our aging pussy has started going bald (stop giggling at the back) on his legs and head and has lost a lot of weight. It seems to have come on really suddenly - in the last month. The vet thinks thyroid issues so he is booked in for a blood test on Wednesday evening. Am a bit cross that they couldn't have just taken blood when we went for the consultation on Saturday but I guess this way they get two consulting fees. Am glad he's insured.... I have a feeling he's about to get expensive.

Passmethecrisps · 12/05/2014 13:31

Yep. She has hyperthyroidism. She suddenly got bony thin and was being sick multiple times a day. Her temperament changed as well - skittish and unhappy with lots of yowling at night. She was on pills but they made her unwell in different ways and made her very stressed to the point that was weeing on P's toys.

She is now at Glasgow vet school where she will get radioiodine treatment. She will be radioactive so will be in for 3 weeks with minimal human contact and even when she comes out we have to limit contact for another week. It will be extremely expensive but will likely lengthen her life and she has been in our family for over a decade.

The success rate is 95% on first treatment and 100% on the second. Life expectancy is also another 5 years after treatment in comparison to 2 years of pills.

YellowWellies · 12/05/2014 13:43

Crikey so I should prepare Mr Cat that he could also become Yuri Gagarin puss sent off for brave and radioactive scientific experiments in honour of the motherland. Sounds like a much better option than pills. Not least that getting pills into a cat is hellish. Is it super heart stoppingly pricey? Mr Cat is 12 and I've had him since he was a kitten. He's moved house and country with me and run away from horrible exes with me so I couldn't bear not to do the best by him. Don't get me wrong he's misanthropic and hates us but he is a dude and utterly part of the family.

Passmethecrisps · 12/05/2014 13:48

£2000. But the pills really rack up as we have spent over £500 on the 3 monthly blood tests and pills in the last 6 months

Wandathewindfairy · 12/05/2014 13:59

Shock Shock

YellowWellies · 12/05/2014 14:08

Oucha that's a lot in the scheme of maternity leave and being down to one income for a year or so... Unlikely to be covered by insurance do you think? Hmmm. I know all of his blood tests etc from one year of first symptoms are covered but alternative treatments and complimentary therapies are only funded up to £500 on our policy.... I'm not going to count chickens until the results come back but I'll put money it's his thyroid. It does seem to be the achilles heel of the aging pussies Sad.

PetiteRaleuse · 12/05/2014 14:17
Shock

Bloody 'ell that's steep. I hope ageing pussy gets well soon.

YellowWellies · 12/05/2014 14:56

With our policy, if it covers this treatment (and it's a big if) that would cost us £450 which isn't too bad. Am so glad I didn't just splurge on the woodburner installation. I had a feeling we might need that money. Stunt what you said about better to have the money to be able to use than to look at an expensive purchase and regret it is sooooooo true. Phew. Ten years ago I would have splurged it and now been feeling awful.

Mr Cat if needed, and the policy covers it, you can go the ball radioactive lab.

MsJupiter · 12/05/2014 15:40

Hi everyone, hope you are all well. I've been keeping up but finding it hard to post. Well done Lily and Zamboni on your recent achievements! I am off to Slimming World this eve as need to sort myself out a bit physically and mentally.

Anyone been to tumble tots? We went this morning for a trial and I think I'll have to shell out for a course. L really liked it and I think it may help his coordination and social skills. He is very enthusiastic (I had to restrain him before they started) and I thought he'd just run around but he got really into it and liked working out how to do different bits of the apparatus. It's not cheap but we don't do any other paid activities and if he learns a bit of patience and taking turns then it could be well worth it.

persepolis123 · 12/05/2014 17:25

pikz loved the wedding photos. How did you get on with keeping LO amused on the plane? We are flying on Wednesday. Looking forward to seeing ILs and Istanbul but nervous about the flight and keeping C still. Any tips quiche?

It’s our first proper month this month ttc. Are you doing opks and all that pikz or are you trying to be more relaxed about it? I’m not doing opks, temping etc yet but wonder if I’m wasting time. Having barely used contraception since C was born, I’m fairly in tune with my body though and have a good idea when I ovulate. Hoping we aren’t both too knackered this week with packing and travelling.

pass bloody hell that’s expensive but can be justified if you can afford it by the excellent success rate.
