Stunt when Fs reflux is bad, bedtime is horrific, and she is beyond clingy in the day. The rest of the time she goes off without a peep. Sounds like J might be feeling similarly?

Elizadoesdolittle · 29/04/2014 21:47

stunt Sad It sounds like meds are the only answer if the poor mite is in pain. Hope he's settled now. hugs.

Talking of meds, I forgot to give E hers before bed. Arse wipes. Goodness knows how I forgot that.

No sign of the 18 month regression here but she is waking up much earlier than usual. Was 6:45 this morning sorry I realise that is not a particularly early morning time for a lot of quiche babies but it's very early for E. She has stopped having any bedtime milk and I think she is quite hungry. I am trying to come up with a non messy bedtime snack that E can handle and the only thing I've come up with is digestive biscuits Blush

She did eat a corn on the cob at dinner tonight without throwing up any lumps, I was gob smacked.

Jonas said "night night Mumma" when I gave him a goodnight kiss. First night he's ever said goodnight back to me. I melted! Almost made up for a ten minute bath time meltdown. Solo bedtime as I booked DH on the Yo sushi school - nom! Have just been eating his handiwork Smile .

StuntNun · 29/04/2014 22:15

I'm a bit confused as to whether J has reflux or not. I'm still waiting for a paediatrician appointment for him. The GP gave me omeprazole and Neocate but advised starting the Neocate first to see whether there was any improvement before starting the omeprazole.

OP posts:
YellowWellies · 29/04/2014 22:28

The docs always want to try anything and everything else but omeprazole as its so bloody expensive. The fact they've given out such an expensive drug is because they think severe reflux is a possible diagnosis. The only way you'll know is to try him on a good dose (2mg/kg is the magic number here) I find it works best split between brekkie and teatime (we now mix a whole tablet with a teensy bit of water and mix with fruit puree as he's on a whole tablet now). Give it a fortnight. No dairy. No other allergens. Reassess. I'd do it before the paed appointment as the way they will determine if he has reflux is whether he responded to the meds and if you've not tried that'll be what they ask you to do next. They don't do the oesophagus pH test at this age so noting behaviour / symptom changes on and off meds is the only way they diagnose. In fact not all trusts do the pH test at all - they didn't do it on the island.

I've fucked up my back. Its got worse all day. Got so much to do before Istanbul this weekend.
And I'd planned for dinner and movie tomorrow with sis.
Thursday am dropping boys to mum and putting them to bed before a 5am wake up and rush out on friday. Tonight was the only time I'd allocated to packing their stuff. Damn.
Cancel movie? Rush Thursday morning in the hope ill get it done anyway?

I'm hoping it sorts itself out over night. It's really bad. Pain is working down my thigh muscles now as they are so tense.

Sry for me me me post. Am feeling sorry for myself
ThanksTo those who need them.

PetiteRaleuse · 29/04/2014 22:53

GT I sympathise with back pain. Pick the easiest solution when you see how it is tomorrow. Don't overdo it. Just go with easy peasy. Cancel anything that can be cancelled if it hurts ( cinema always hurts my back- despite being a lazy couch potato I can't sit for very long - v frustrating)

StuntNun · 29/04/2014 22:55

J's childminder suspects chicken pox as her youngest had it last week. Hmm Ffs he only goes there for four hours a week.

OP posts:
PetiteRaleuse · 29/04/2014 23:18

Arse stunt that'll be a nuisance. It is v contagious. Wait and see eh? I'd still try the omeprazole so you can deal with that as the pox won't make things easier.

GTbaby · 30/04/2014 00:31

Oh no Stunt!
Are our babies at a stage where it is "ok" for them to get chicken pox yet?
Too young and it's to mild to old and complications I think it is?

Pr. think movie will have to be canceled regardless. Dont want to risk it getting worse/prolonging it.
Also have a hair cut Confused arghhhhh

ValiumQueen · 30/04/2014 04:11

Good news : J slept until 3.

Bad news : our day has started at 3.

Good news : we went to bed early.

Bad news : I cannot stop coughing.

Good news : we woke Daddy and he is cleaning the kitchen. (I would rather he sent me back to bed though!)

StuntNun · 30/04/2014 06:37

There's definitely something wrong as J was up every hour last night. Right now he's playing with toys and singing though.

OP posts:
GTbaby · 30/04/2014 07:33

I'm miserable. Awful sleep. A did not help his mummy out despite being told I needed to rest.
Now deciding if I should cancel hair app. Gutted as I wanted it done before holiday because my pictures will look yuk lol
Sis is coming over when she wakes. Just hope it's not at 11am. Waiting for h to wake up. Not looking forward to carrying him down the stairs Confused

Vq can you not tell him your going to bed. Will be clean while watching the kids? Or is it to late now...

Lily311 · 30/04/2014 07:44

Feeling awful. It's Leo's birthday today. He should have turned 37. I did not sleep, my throat hurts and I'm crying my heart out as O has gone out with the sitter for an hour. I need strength to survive the day, it hit me harder than I anticipated. 2 years ago I did not think that within a month I lose him.

ValiumQueen · 30/04/2014 08:02

Oh Lily ThanksThanksThanks I am so very sorry. Would it help to talk about him? Pop over to FB, start a thread with pics etc?

ValiumQueen · 30/04/2014 08:04

Will you be seeing anyone? Friends? Family? O will be home soon so hopefully that will help give you the strength to get through today xxx

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/04/2014 08:11

lily I am so sorry. Thanks words seem really inadequate. Thinking of you xx

ditsygal · 30/04/2014 08:19

lily big hugs, nothing we can say will help - but know that we care about you and are thinking of you x

ditsygal · 30/04/2014 08:22

I was just on the CMPA support website and it list nesquik banana and strawberry and DF and SF and choc as just DF. If its not, I'm worrying what else they have got wrong!

Well F's teething dribble, then turned into a high temp over monday night and he woke feverish yesterday morning and just wanted to sleep on my - poor baby. The Dr suspected a throat infection so we are on AB's now and he slept 12 hours last night and seems so much better this morn.

StuntNun · 30/04/2014 09:12

I'm sorry to hear you're feeling so down Lily. I do think it's a natural response though and you shouldn't feel bad for feeling bad if you know what I mean. Is there any way you can commemorate the day, for example looking at a photo of him with O later and telling her how proud he would be of her.

Lily311 · 30/04/2014 09:34

We have been doing that stunt. We will let a balloon go by the river later, did it last year as well. I won't be seeing anyone I think today, my parents are at work and friends here are not like friends back in the uk.

GTbaby · 30/04/2014 10:14

Lily this is such a hard time for you. And the balloon idea is lovely. Hopefully you can have a few nice things arranged for the next couple of weeks to help x

Zamboni · 30/04/2014 10:40

Lily ThanksThanksThanksThanksThanksThanksThanks

Wish I could give you a big, big hug. Cannot even imagine what this must be like for you.

PetiteRaleuse · 30/04/2014 11:15

((((lily)))) I can't imagine it. You are doing a wonderful job with O though xxx

PetiteRaleuse · 30/04/2014 11:20

I drove on the motorway today for the second time in my life and 16(!!) years since I last did it. At rush hour. Right round the crapital. Lots of switching to other motorways. I was a wreck but only had one near miss (objects in the rear view mirror really are closer than they appear!!)

In other news I have a car seat we bought about six months ago that has hardly been used and doesn't fit in either of our cars. I wouldn't buy a 2nd hand car seat but wibu to try and sell it? It's a good one.
