What's the deal with threads being closed? Is there a post limit?

I am soooooo tired today. Archie has been really unsettled the last few nights from about 4am onwards. Sometimes he's hungry, sometimes he wants to play, sometimes he wants his dummy. The last two nights he's ended up in with us as it's easier to replug the dummy, pat etc.
YAWN.

AAAAAArse! Going to visit DH in his (ex) bachelor pad in the big smoke tomorrow, see the bastard outlaws then visit my mum+ gran.
Puggle masterplan was to buy a bed rail, as little puggle sleeps beside me anyway so bed nest is a pretty massive and heavy safety rail really. Only need it for 3 nights as lo and I will have a double bed to ourselves at my mums

Anyway, panic ordered bedrail Sun on Amazon and have spent all afternoon putting the sodding thing together. Finally completed it and have noticed the big letters saying for children over 18 months only
I'm assuming it doesn't count co-sleeping ...........
What would you all do?

I would use it anyway puggle

Please find the pictures of the Easter birds/nests. We went for Rice Crispies, didn't think my mouth would be up for the shredded wheat. We bought the wrong thing for the face, and cake pops are trickier than I thought!

DS1 ended up with a moustache as I bought icing gel instead of the pen icing

Puggle it's probably just because they don't want to fork out for the licence for something suitable for babies...

Saw this posted on FB today www.adweek.com/adfreak/24-people-who-applied-worlds-toughest-job-were-quite-surprise-157028 worth a watch, especially if you're having a slightly crappy day. I may have cried a little bit Blush

I'm a December mummy (27th) but can I join anyway?

Dd 15wks now. On ranitadine for reflux, usually sleeps 4+ hrs at night, has been known to sleep up to 7 but only a few times. Doesn't nap much in the day. Not rolling over yet but has learnt to suck her thumb in the last 2 days. Joy!

Baby pumpkin has been successfully sleeping through since 4 weeks but now at 14 weeks she has woken 2 nights in a row at 3am for a feed. Wonder why she has regressed?Hmm
Put her up to 7oz today to see if that makes a difference.

Got her a cute easter chick outfit from Asdas the other day, a kinder lamb and im hoping to get her a lindt bunny (stuffed not choc) from sainsbos for easter Smile

Welcome rachir!

pumpkin how odd. Although Henry has been waking up, not for milk, just for giggles I think!

Cheers all - the instructions helpfully say under 18 months should be sleeping in a cot - little puggle tells me he can't read and will be staying in the big bed...

Hi rachie & tmae :)

million, I don't think I realised that Meredith and Henry share a birthday.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 16/04/2014 08:12

They do :) that's why, secretly not now that I'm telling you i judge Henry's weight gain against Meredith's. Only weight, so I'm not a total cow, but I know i shouldn't be doing that anyway. But I can't help myself.

the 0-3 month clothes I put Henry in, and I was so proud about? They were first size from Asda. They were on the wrong hanger and i didn't twig. We've bought them again in 0-3 but they are still huge. As is the other clothes. So he's still in up to 1 month clothes. I know it isn't a big deal in the grand scheme, but it's getting tedious that he's worn all the same babygrows etc for ages, but I don't want to buy the next size up because surely he can't have long left in newborn? He's grew out of tiny baby stuff by the time he was 6 weeks.

sorry, rambling there! What's the plans for people today? Dh is off so we are going to take ds1 and Henry to a park with rides etc

million just seen the fantastic cakes further up they look really good! me and the sprogling went to the local sensory room yesterday and then out trawling the charity shops today for some bigger clothes (out of the tiny baby cloths at last). Fun filled day tomorrow with the second set of injections and packing for the dreaded trip to the in-laws....

Fingers crossed the jabs will make sprog drowsy again so packing can be achieved with two hands.

Rant alert... We're hoping to go to a friend's wedding in Italy first weekend of May, but have had to do the whole booking an appointment at the passport office and then doing the fast track for F's passport. Deadline for them to send his passport to us was yesterday... Phoned passport line to ask what was going on and why hadn't arrived (particularly given we've paid a huge whack for their 'premium' 7 day 'fast track' 'guaranteed' service... They've just been really dismissive, said it might turn up today, and if not to call back tomorrow.

Anyone had any experience of the passport office's apathy? Any tips?

Pidgy · 17/04/2014 15:44

Hi all!

If be angry too angel as can't imagine it was cheap. I'd request compensation from them for 1/7th of the 'premium' fee for every day they are late. Hope you get it soon!

Lara is wiped out after her jabs. Just slept for 3 hours when she's usually a power napper in the day. DS is asleep too. Bliss!! ;-)
She's now asleep on me again otherwise I was going to attempt to separate some baby aloe Vera plants from the 'mother'.

Excited here too as it's the long weekend!! Hope it's nice weather as we're heading to my parents on the south coast for sat to mon. Love going back 'home'!

I had Lara weighed and she's dropped down a band. I'm not worried as she's still pretty chunky (with cellulite!) but they don't half panic you. It was a different hv this time at the clinic and she was asking if I knew why, has she been ill, am I eating/drinking enough? Made me think I was doing something wrong but I've checked DS book and he dropped a bit at this stage too.

angel I'd be ticked. We have to get dh and Henry a passport. Dh will also have to go to the office. Not looking forward to it.

pidgy the whole experience with Henry and his weight has told me that if you aren't concerned with the weight, don't let others make you worry. Iyswim.

angel can you get hold of your mp? The passport office is likely to have a special mps line and they might be able to hurry them up for you. We did this recently with hmrc about something and it really got them to get their act together. We had a response in days from them when we had been waiting months.

Hi everyone,

Just back from a few days in montpellier, which was lovely. Saw DB and DF plus DBIL and lots of friends from when we were living there last year. It was so hot though, I thought I would die and it didn't help that I had decided to leave the buggy at home to travel light. The sun was really hot too, though luckily no one burnt. We were recommended mineral sunblock for N because he is so little. I really liked it, except for the smell. It really does smell like algae, though it goes away after the first few mins.

Got to try out the ergobaby ventus. Unfortunately N is too short for it and even with a rolled up towel under his bum isn't sitting well in it so will leave it for a month until he (hopefully) gets a bit taller. He seemed nice and cool with the mesh back, but the waist and shoulder straps are all quite big and padded and you do still have a baby plastered to your chest, so it wasn't quite so cool for me! I have not tried the original ergo or the performance one, so I can't really comment on the differences but it seems like a good solid carrier which will be excellent when N is a bit longer but not as cool as a ring sling or others that carry the baby away from your body. I am reserving judgement and will report back once short arse here has had a growth spurt.

angel that sounds crap. I hate the passport office at the moment too. Still waiting for N's passport after just over six weeks. This is the minimum time it now takes for a first time overseas passport application, so I don't know how much longer we will wait. DD's was issued the same day her application reached them and was with me less than a week after I sent the application from Egypt to the issuing office in Paris. Now it takes at least six weeks to apply from France to the UK. It also costs double the UK price excluding postage and takes twice as long. It makes me so annoyed because we can't visit my 94 year old granny until this passport arrives and at this rate we won't make it to the UK at all before we return to Egypt.

MrsV how are you? Hope things are getting better and the future is more clear for you.

I am pretty sure that you can't use the same day service for first time applications. They are usually a three week job, though the one week service may be available.

N is being a tiny bastard all the time, doesn't want to sleep and has become velcro baby. Also crying all the time. He is 15 weeks and this is quite a sudden thing. Anyone else had this? I will take him to the docs next week to try and get some gaviscon just in case (I am sure this was what was wrong with DD and he has been gassy and a bit sicky recently) but am getting seriously fed up.

million good luck with the next set of tablets. You inspired me to make rice krispie birds nests for sham el neseem (An ancient Egyptian festival still celebrated in Egypt which coincides with Easter Monday). We colour eggs, spend the day outside in the fresh air and eat herring, eggs, salad and (eurrghh) pickled fish.
