What's the deal with threads being closed? Is there a post limit?

I am soooooo tired today. Archie has been really unsettled the last few nights from about 4am onwards. Sometimes he's hungry, sometimes he wants to play, sometimes he wants his dummy. The last two nights he's ended up in with us as it's easier to replug the dummy, pat etc.
YAWN.

Yeah, I know she's talking bollocks, don't worry Smile She also told me to wean her as soon as she sits up to help with reflux, and that her lack of sleeping through will delay her development of speech Hmm. I just nod, and then worry that I'm the worlds shittest first time mother for a bit. I'll get over it and man up!

No need for you to man up book that dozy hv ia the problem, not you!

Hugs to everyone with feeding and sleeping problems. Xander seems better today, no poonamis and keeping his feeds down better, thank goodness, running out of clean tops!

Quick vaccination question... F is due to have his first rotavirus vaccination tomorrow (delayed from his other 8 wek jabs last week as DH had norovirus...). How did everyone find their little ones reacted? And did anyone choose not to have it?

Report
TobyLerone · 14/04/2014 16:54

Fucking hell, book. She actually sounds dangerous.
How did it go with the paediatrician?

Angel, Meredith had no real reaction to the rotavirus drops. A slightly gross nappy the next day, but that's all.

Report
BookTart · 14/04/2014 17:07

I didn't notice any reaction to it at all angel

Paediatrician was lovely. Persephone is now on Ranitidine (tiny dose) and she prescribed Domperidone too, but we're to try the Rantidine for a week first. No change yet though, but still early days.

Fingers crossed that it sorts her out!

Hi -thought I'd lost you all!
Also getting some pressure from DH on the duvet front but little puggle will usually only sleep in the sling during the day and tucked into my side at night-neither of these do it for me on the feeling sexy front. He also seems to think I'm making this up as he keeps putting him in his cot when crying and expecting him to go to sleep as if by magic, then huffs if I take him to settle him. Grrrr!

Also teething here. Have got anbesol, need to get some of these powder/granule doodas. My DM says they tend to teethe/settle/teethe for a wee while before any teeth actually come through
He's also wrecked with eczema and a funny red rash too. Need to get the oats in the tesco value pop sock....

On the plus side - Hugh has rolled front to back and a red squirrel looked into my window today when I was breastfeeding! I am so annoyed my camera was just out of reach -

Toby Book thanks! Just needed some reassurance after my Internet research - why is it I only focus on the one in a million negative comments and not the positives?!!

Puggle I love red squirrels! They're such pretty, delicate things... Just a bit too far south here in Manchrster to see them :(

Report
TobyLerone · 14/04/2014 19:41

Ooooh, I forgot! Meredith rolled back to front the other day at MILs. Twice. She hasn't done it since, though!

How lovely to see a red squirrel, puggle :)

Hi,

Just found this thread, feeling a bit silly for not realising you were all here!

Puggle glad I'm not the only one stuck with no duvet time and a sprogling that will only sleep on me.

Any advice on getting him to sleep elsewhere?

FelixFelix · 14/04/2014 20:26

Angel we had the rotavirus thing a few weeks ago and Sylvie was fine. She had a slight temperature but not sure if it was from the other jabs so I just gave her some calpol.

angel Alex had a bit of an upset stomach for a day or so after rotavirus, but he was on antibiotics at the time so was already a bit runny!

Dh and I are trying to make the most of Alex sleeping well and are having romantic Friday nights. The rest of the time he's either abroad or in the spare room.

toby haha Meredith is showing you up because you said back-to-front unlikely so early! Alex has also not rolled since that first day.

Hi spinner funny I'm married to a geologist.

I've tried -Ewan the dream sheep, lambskin under sheet, bednest, tilted cot, moses basket and hotwater bottle in cot (though haven't tried that for ages) my top in the moses basket, cuski comforter, shifting into bednest when deeply asleep - little puggle has had none of it. However, he has more recently tried to get off my chest at night to sleep beside me so I'm trying hard not to fret and realise he'll get there eventually.

I keep trying to remember he used to scream the place down for nappy changes but that slowly changed and now he loves nappy off - and I did absolutely nothing to make that change happen Grin

I've put a wee saucer of bird peanuts out to tempt my squirrel to visit again.......

Henry has started waking at nights. We were up from 1.30-4 for the second night running. Any ideas? He's so tired at the moment.

last night soup and shloer was good. I was still home and in bed by 10.30.

i have really stinky trumps and wicked bad heartburn at the moment. That, along with being bloated, makes me feel pregnant. Which would be a sodding miracle. We've had sex once since 18 Feb because I've been constantly bleeding. I'm waiting for the tablets from the Dr to kick in

Today I'm making Easter cake pops, yellow chicks, and shredded wheat baskets to go on them. I'll upload a picture when I'm done

book your HV is mad, even my pretty tough and uncompromising DM told me to chill out about routines/sleep times as she's still too little. Believe me, my DM will be the first to suggest it, when it's an appropriate time.

million sounds lovely!

nature hope you feel better soon.

How old is Henry now, million? Your Easter treats sound amazing!

I got out of bed on the wrong side today I think. Finding toddler hard work already. Hopefully day will get better!

Sounds delicious, million. I think DS and my nephew might make some rice krispie nests later. My sister is lobbying hard for shredded wheat nests instead, but I don't think the roof of my mouth can take it!

book I'd complain about your hv, she's causing you more stress for no need

I have another no sleeper! Last night h woke up every 1 1/4 hours ALL night! Not hungry just crying. Was the worst night he's ever had. I did have a cheapy nappy on that I'd got given and was trying to use up so don't know if that caused it? Hoping so as hope it isn't how he's going to be

million we've had three nights in a row where Percy has been awake for 2-3 hours from around 2am. She desperately tries to feed herself back to sleep, but no dice. Her size 2 Pampers don't seen to be up to the nights anymore, so I've got some BabyDry ones to try tonight in case that helps.

Thanks for all the HV solidarity. She's just phoned to say she's copied her favourite book on sleep and us going to drop it off later. I've just tried to put Persephone down for a nap three times, but it didn't work. She always wakes up the tiny bastard

book your hv sounds more of a hindrance than a help!

Thanks for the support. Feeling much better about everything now. Just got a heavy cold now which is helping as was worried it was turning into a chest infection. Had a lovely day with O yesterday and she has been a dream so far today. I think she has come out the otherside of the wonder weeks leap so has settled again.

It's gorgeous weather up here so making the most of the sun Smile
