What's the deal with threads being closed? Is there a post limit?

I am soooooo tired today. Archie has been really unsettled the last few nights from about 4am onwards. Sometimes he's hungry, sometimes he wants to play, sometimes he wants his dummy. The last two nights he's ended up in with us as it's easier to replug the dummy, pat etc.
YAWN.

Naturegirl82 · 08/05/2014 20:07

that's good that he is so supportive million. Hopefully the gp will be useful. It's amazing how a good shower can make you feel better.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 08/05/2014 20:18

puggle chuck it out and say it broke. For sure. If you don't want it, don't keep it!

million you poor love. To cheer you up, I still have a bleeding pile, which is excruciating every time I poo. Creams, suppositories etc, not touching it. It's also cracked (hence bleeding), and just won't fuck off. I take Lactulose to soften poo, and either don't take enough so (bad) or take slightly too much (worse...). I feel your pain.

enormouse this is why we now have a cleaner. DH is shit at tidying, and pathetic about cleaning, so he pays someone to do it. It keeps the peace. You are not being at all unreasonable.

Going to read more now, just had to post before I forgot those things...

AMillionNameChangesLater · 08/05/2014 20:23

nature

Henry got a bcg jab because my dad had tb when I was growing up. They don't give them as standard anymore.

humpty ouch! That sounds really, really crap

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 08/05/2014 20:28

million big hugs. I know you're doing your best, and that's all you can do.

puggle PIL are fun for comments like that, eh? Wink My (ace) MIL comes out with corkers.

Swannykazoo · 08/05/2014 21:11

Big hugs million I know bugger all about it, but I'm sure saying you think you might have PND is the first step on the road of shooing the black dog out the door.
Who knew unwanted high chairs were so sturdy? I've been trying hard to crack the stupid tray subtly..Tomorrow its out and out war.

Swannykazoo · 08/05/2014 21:14

ps Tell me more Humpty - can you see my everyday forcefeeding and raise me?

Angelesque · 08/05/2014 21:18

Million you are doing a great job. Admitting you are worried is amazing and brave - hopefully your GP/HV can help you to get sorted and start enjoying everything again.

Nature F had the BCG this week, but only as we officially live in Manchester City Centre - if we lived a mile further south, in Trafford borough, we wouldn't have been offered it.

Gettingthroughthis · 08/05/2014 23:17

million sorry you're finding it tough, I doubt the stupid hv is helping adding to existing worries. It's amazing how much a good shower can make you feel better

Spged · 08/05/2014 23:19

felix So glad you've realised what was going on and can draw a line under it all :-) what a relief that must be! I've decided not to use any sort of hormone / invasive contraception at the moment as it would be nice just to feel normal for a while and feel like I have some sort of control over my body.

Thinking of you Million and fx your gp is helpful

Today was day 2 of our cloth nappy trial. Our local council does 3 nappies for £12 which is pretty amazing I think. However, am I doing something wrong or just expecting too much? All 3 nappies (mircofibre littlelamb, bamboo lollypop and tots bots easy fit) as pretty wet after 1.5-2 hours? The two which use a separate wrap are sodden right through and I think the tots bots one is too but it's just not so obvious. Also, if anyone uses tots bots, is there some sort of trick to getting the long bit of material out of the nappy for washing without getting hands covered in pee? I seem to be quite in to the idea of reusables but am disappointed so far.

Sunshineseeker80 · 08/05/2014 23:23

million big hugs. I don't know much about post natal depression but being tired and exhausted can't be helping the way you feel. You are a fantastic mum to those boys and it sounds like your DH is being a great support. Hope it goes well when you get to chat to the Dr x

felix - good that you have figured that out. I was the opposite....my friend told me when she took the pill she thought about jumping in front of the tube. I thought she was exaggerating until I was pregnant and the hormones completely floored me. Much happier now they have gone, but still can't quite believe how much impact they can have on your mental well being. Hope the removal is as painless as possible.

nature - we were offered BCG because we live in inner London. Although one nurse told me we only needed it if we lived on an estate as the terrace houses weren't high density or high risk ?!?

My DH (dick head) has just come home from his leaving drinks absolutely plastered. I don't mind the going out but I don't understand why he has to get sooo drunk. He texted me 5 times to tell me he was coming home, walked into the wall in the hallway twice and peed all over the bathroom floor while telling me he wasn't that bad. Have banished him to the spare room and told him if he tries to go anywhere near Emily I will kill him. My parents never drank (my mum has been teetotal since 18) so I have funny (strict) ideas about parents being drunk around their children. I suspect this row will continue all weekend as we are having a Bon voyage party at sat. Was due to be a picnic in the park in the afternoon but looks like if will be rained off so will start in the pub at 3pm. He will be hammered again by 9pm and I will get pissed off with him. He is also COMPLETELY useless with a hangover. Grrrr.

Naturegirl82 · 09/05/2014 07:00

spged I trialled the totsbots and a few like that and didn't like the fact you had to faff about with them when they were wet/dirty. I didn't find any tricks unfortunately, but it is a big part of the reason I opted for smartipants as those just go in the wash with the insert in and they sort themselves out when in there. Is your lo complaining of a wet nappy or are they leaking? if they are a heavy wetter you may need to try a different type of nappy or add an extra insert. if you wanted to trial some alternatives the fill your pants website does a trial of 7 different nappies for 3 weeks for £10.

Thanks for the info on the bcg. I looked on the nhs website as well and they say not part of the routine immunisations now

AMillionNameChangesLater · 09/05/2014 07:03

Spg we are using Bambino Mio, and change Henry every 2-3 hours. When he's weed they are really wet, there's no chemicals to pull the wee somewhere.

sunshine I would be very pissed off with dh if he did that. Make lots of noise this morning, be ruthless

TobyLerone · 09/05/2014 07:20

million & felix, sorry to hear you're both struggling. Hope you can both get sorted ASAP.

Grrrrr, sunshine. I'd be raging. I really hate drunk people and am very careful when I drink so as not to get properly drunk.

Re reusables, we use Little Lambs, but the bamboo ones, which are more absorbent. They are very wet when we take them off, but it doesn't seem to matter. The LL wraps are called 'bombproof' for a reason and they rarely leak. We use them overnight, too, and they're fine.

Meredith had her last jabs on Wednesday and yesterday she was a bit warm and whingey. She's currently asleep next to me, but she seems to have recovered just fine :)

BookTart · 09/05/2014 07:38

Thanks million. I hope you get the support you need. I'm glad your DH is being supportive too.

I would just like to say that I bloody LOVE the 16 week growth spurt. Persephone slept 10-2, had a quick feed and then did 2.30-5.30. I'm sure normal service will be resumed shortly, but hooray for her best sleep ever Grin

TobyLerone · 09/05/2014 07:43

That's great, book :)
I'll be over your way later if you need anything and cba to go out.

FelixFelix · 09/05/2014 08:10

Million I'm glad you've recognised what it is and had the courage to speak to your DP about it. Hope the doctors goes well today!

You only get the bcg here if you're Asian. How odd that all the areas are different!

I'm at my mums for the weekend in Notts as DP is going to the lakes, and I had a great sleep last night! The A1 was closed at Doncaster so we had to take a massive detour through the back and beyond and it took us 2.5hrs to do a 40 minute journey, but it meant Sylvie slept all the way in the car. She woke up for a bit then went back to sleep at 11, woke at 4 for a feed then just woke again at 7.30 Grin it's not back to the old times of sleeping through from 11-6 but it's better than last week where she woke up every half an hour. I feel gooooood Grin

Gettingthroughthis · 09/05/2014 11:59

felix glad you had a good night. H has pretty much been up since 2am. Now is finally asleep but I need to get up as meeting work people for a long boozy lunch (dh will pick h up from restaurant)

Went to a nurseyy visit today and loved it :) need to see if I can do 9-4.30 at work as will take me over an hour to get there from work and it closes at 6

Spged · 09/05/2014 16:59

nature, million, Toby, thanks for your help. DD isn't complaining about the wetness, but I feel bad that her bottom is wet all the time (PFB!). Good to know that it doesnt matter if they are very wet and that's the way it's supposed to work. I have ordered some fleece liners which I hope will help. We are away next week so I'm going to put the trial on hold and then I may order the fill your pants £10 offer when I get back if I'm not doing any better with the tots bots. The offer includes all of the kinds that you recommend which is handy!!

flyawayblue · 09/05/2014 16:59

million glad you are getting help.

getting yey for finding a nice nursery :)

I'm feeling like an idiot. Thought Alice was bad (bit of sick and screaming hiccups) looked up the smoothy I had at lunch and it has yogurt in! Idiots at the shop said dairy free.

I guess the only good is we now know she really does notice it in my milk.... Sad

Spged · 09/05/2014 17:00

getting glad you liked the nursery. That's a massive plus!

AMillionNameChangesLater · 09/05/2014 17:25

getting brilliant news on the nursery.

I've been to the Drs. Having bloods taken next Friday to see if my iron levels are low and if my thyroid is iffy (technical term) if they come back normal, ADs it is, if they don't, we know what to work on.

The Dr asked me what I wanted to do, and it was my suggestion above which is the game plan.

Angelesque · 09/05/2014 17:46

Anyone been reading Wonder Weeks recently? F has been super fussy the last few days, his sleep is shot and I'm exhausted... Just reading WW "World of Events" and I want to cradle the authors in my arms and kiss them. Just reading that F is 'supposed' to be being a tiny bastard at the mo us helping, and that it's okay to find him sooo draining makes me feel so much better.

TobyLerone · 09/05/2014 18:53

I just read it, angel. Thanks for reminding me! It certainly explains a lot...

Pidgy · 09/05/2014 20:42

million sorry you're feeling like that and hope you get it sorted ASAP so you can enjoy your boys again.

felix that's so interesting you said about the hormones as yesterday I decided to stop taking the mini pill I'm on. Im sure it makes me a total bitch towards DH. I blame him for everything, everything he does annoys me and I really don't want any kind of sex. This all started when I started the pill and now I think about it, it happened when I was on it before. I'm going to have the copper coil fitted. No hormones.

Lara has had a bad flair up of eczema. It's all in her neck crease, her face and behind her ears. It's better on her arms and legs but now appearing on her back. :-(
Is it common to get it more if you've had a cold?
I'm washing all her things in non bio with no softener but she's been in our bed which might explain her face reaction as I used bold on our bed, which is biological and has softener.
I must get some oats to try in the bath. Feel sad about it.

enormouse · 09/05/2014 21:24

pidgy don't feel bad, flares ups happen and they usually don't last long. DS1 has them when he teethes, has a cold, I use the wrong washing powder etc. I've got one at the moment brought on by stress. You've done really well to pinpoint the cause.

Million hope you get the support you need. Xx

getting glad to hear about the nursery. Must be such a relief

felix yaay for great sleep. Smile

humpty I wish I could get a cleaner.

Took DS1 for his speech assessment yesterday and basically he hasn't got any underlying developmental issues thankfully. But his priorities are slightly skewed, his fine motor skills are extremely well developed (4/5yr old level) but because he's so absorbed and single minded in doing things himself he won't ask for help so has no need to talk. The SALT was lovely and recommended activities to focus his attention and concentration.

I just feel slightly flat after this, overwhelmed with work deadlines (have exams next week) and feel like I'm not giving the boys the attention they deserve. Sad I'm ashamed to say I had a small cry after the assessment (in pizza express of all places).
