We needed a new thread!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SpottyTeacakes · 05/04/2014 15:09

If it's any consolation ds has woken up super miserable Hmm

Barbeasty · 05/04/2014 16:03

Please bear in mind that last night was a good night, with just 3 wakings- I'm not counting the one as we went to bed, or the one at 6am!

Yes, counting down to the 16th. Just a week and a half to go...

That epic sleeping does usually involve a wake up for a nappy change btw, and I don't see any difference if I use disposables over our regular cloth. On a good night, he wakes at 6 and we doze till 8. On a bad night it's 2/3am and he gets upset because he's tired so takes ages to go back down. The last couple have been bad - night before last I had to resettle him 5 times - but he's picked up his eating again, constantly grazing between eating full meals, so I'm assuming growth spurt. He has 16 teeth showing, 14 fully through and two broken the surface.

I'm praying this is the 18 month disruption a few weeks early!

Poor buba T has really been in the wars today. She fell over at the park and got a bump on her forehead this morning then this aft in the garden dd2 bounced her off the trampoline (just a little

WLmum · 05/04/2014 20:03

One with a handle) and she landed on her face on the patio - another bump on the forehead, scraped nose and nosebleed, and now just before bed she dropped a pack of 8 spot books on her foot Sad

I saw an old friend today and completely abandoned DH and dds as I ran over the road and into a coffe shop with no explanation - I saw her going in with a pram and last time I saw her I was pg with T and she was telling me that they'd been ttc for years and tests showed she had v few eggs (she's younger than me but had cancer in her 20s) so they were looking at donor eggs. I felt terrible already having 2 babies and a big belly. I was so thrilled for her today I just had to chase after her and give her a big hug. Best news ever.

SpottyTeacakes · 05/04/2014 20:27

Poor T what a bad day! That's lovely for your friend. My sister is pregnant again following 3 mmc so fingers crossed there too.

Barbeasty · 05/04/2014 20:56

Ouch WL.

DD bit her tongue and it bled, so DH put some frozen peas in a freezer bag to stop it swelling. So what did she do? Poke a hole in the bag and eat them!!

She and A have had a lovely afternoon with 3 of their cousins. All pleas for a sleep over are being ignored until Thursday, after the dance show. We might make the most of it and try to wean A off night feeds. MIL said if it goes well in Thursday DD could stay on Friday night too, so we'd have 2 nights to break the back of it.

Probably wishful thinking!

Fx spotty. Has she checked out foresight? They advocate a nutritional programme to aid conception and pg - we followed the programme for dd1 after 2 years of ttc and then for dd2 after 1 year of trying and a mc.

beasty good luck with that. I kind of feel that I might be doing a night feed forever and weirdly that's ok - she's my last baby and I don't get so much time with her as I'm spread quite thin.

halestone · 06/04/2014 00:55

I am ignoring the good sleepers outs of pure jealousyWink

WL thats great news for your friend.

Its looking like my sister is starting her new job next week so i will be looking after her daughter to save her the nursery fees. I'm nervous but i'm sure the girls will be ok.

Ddas how did it go yesterday? I hope everything is ok.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 06/04/2014 00:58

I've been trying to night wean this week but it's all gone out if the window as poor J has yet another temperature.

Just came up to find him thrashing in his cot talking to himself. I've given both calpol and ibuprofen, he's down to a vest, he's in my bed and the window's open. Fx he cools down soon.

SpottyTeacakes · 06/04/2014 01:08

WL she has other medical issues no probs conceiving. She's on progesterone(?) injections daily.

Ds just woke up no idea why. Dp had to take over as I needed a wee, shame Wink

Barbeasty · 06/04/2014 07:44

WL a night feed I'd have no problem with. 4-6 night feeds between 10pm and 5am I'm struggling with! Although if this new job happens I probably wouldn't have to get up at 5 any more.

WillYou hope he was ok in the end.

I'm just soooooo tired. And although we haven't got the rush of getting the DC up and ready for church this morning so no child free time for me either we've got DD's technical rehearsal for her show, then we'll have to eat out somewhere because it's just down the road from their swimming lessons, then I think DH still intends getting them their tea out, so we'll be out from 10 am until 5 or 7 this evening. Mad.

And I'm really struggling to prepare a 5 minute presentation for another interview on Tuesday. Every time I think it's done, I read through it and decide it's crap. No time left to prepare it now though except the train journey there!

OP posts:
ddas · 06/04/2014 08:15

Wow I'm amazed you've managed to keep going with 6 night feeds and still function at work!! & given you're getting interviews you clearly are!!

hales news was good. Spleen had reduced in size which a positive sign as with sinister causes would have got bigger or stayed the same. & she then came up in a viral looking rash so we think likely glandular fever. Fever has finally gone after 2 weeks and better in herself. We'll see them again in a couple of weeks to review everything.

ddas · 06/04/2014 08:18

spotty that's good news. Hope her pregnancy progresses well. Most of my best friends is struggling with fertility issues and really feel for her. Can't wait for the moment I hear she's pregnant- just hope it's soon.

SpottyTeacakes · 06/04/2014 08:30

Ddas that's good news Smile

We've just woken up and ds is still asleep Shock he was awake for two hours in the night though Hmm

WLmum · 06/04/2014 08:39

ddas that's great news. I was thinking about you. I would recommend foresight to your friend too.
beasty amazing indeed that you're still alive let alone functuon

WLmum · 06/04/2014 08:40

Functioning. I did night weaning with T a while ago as I couldn't handle the 3 feeds and she wasn't eating much in the day - vicious circle. We compromised with one feed which I'm ok with and sometimes now that feed doesn't come til 6!!

WLmum · 06/04/2014 14:57

DH just dropped a massive spider in the car! It's been living in our bin cupboard for years and is absolutely huge. I've told he's got to Hoover it out later as we couldn't find it but the fucker will hide until I'm driving down the motorway. I not happy.

Stacks · 06/04/2014 14:59

Is it ok that I mostly just lurk here? I'm exhausted with this pregnancy plus ill/teething/grumpy/all of the above DS. We have a first word here finally "more" he's been saying it for ages but we've only just acknowledged that, yes, it's a real word in context (and often with a demanding tone to match). DH insists "miaow" was his real first word though, as it was his first verbal communication of something specific.

Really sorry to be reading of so much illness all the time. Makes me feel super lucky that DS has missed out on most of this stuff. Though I guess we had reflux causing issues for months, it's different looking back on something than living through it over and over.

Really need to wean DS completely. I think I've probably lost my milk anyway, but he still likes a feed before bed to relax him, and occasionally a feed during the day when he's feeling miserable - which is all the time recently!

MrsNutella · 06/04/2014 18:40

Evening ladies!

beasty 6?! The mind boggles, I would be in no fit mental state to work if DS was getting me up that often. I struggled when it was three ish times.

wl that spider will definitely get you when you least expect it

spotty it's weird when they sleep longer isn't it. I wondered what would happen with the clock change... DS was waking around 6:45 quite regularly and this week he has been waking up later, sometimes almost an hour later - sorry everyone else- it has been amazing

Stacks of course you can lurk - I sometimes do :) I bet you're not the only one.

DS seems to be cutting his canines Confused. We've had a few pink cheeks, lots of dribble and he really enjoyed chewing some frozen peas this evening. He insisted he be given some when he saw the bag (made the food sign like I'd been starving him), then he chewed a couple and spat them out a bit later and demanded more. So I think they must be good for sore gums. :)

SpottyTeacakes · 06/04/2014 18:42

Mmm I love frozen peas my nan always used to give them to us Grin

utopian99 · 06/04/2014 21:05

We're halfway between people in terms of sleep - on a good night O sleeps through but from 7.45pm-6am, on a bad night we get a wakeup around 4 and or fully awake from 5.30am.. I was fine with this till the sickness kicked in with this pg, and now it's killing me!

Sorry to hear of poorly babies and hoping for speedy recovery!

We have been up to Oulton Park and to see gps and friends - dh had a great time and O got to sit in the supercar beside a very jolly racing driver who didn't seem bothered at having an excitable 15 month old in his cockpit.. Will try to put up a picture.

WLmum · 06/04/2014 21:31

My back aches from having a Velcro girl this aft. I ended up with her in the ergo (and me passing strips of cheese back) while I was making tea. I think she was just really tired and I've had to be away from her quite a bit this weekend and she is a mumas girl. Poor little sausage.

WLmum · 06/04/2014 21:34

utopian sounds like a lovely day. Sorry about the morning sickness but just remember why you have it - another lovely little un on the way! I'm all done but still a bit jealous of pgs and impending tinies. So exciting.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 06/04/2014 22:43

Hey all. I'm in a right state and I need a safe place to hang out without judgement (please).

DP went out to "pick up some work keys" 3 hours ago and then immediately text me to tell me a mate had asked him to have a quick pint so he'd see me in an hour.

He's still not home, he's not answering calls. I text to say I was going to bed at 10 and should I leave the door for him? I got a reply that he was on his way. The pub he said he was at is 10 mins away. Someone pulled up 30 mins ago then reversed away at speed.

I have no idea WTF is going on and I'm a raging ball of anxiety. He's either going to come in and finish it for good or maybe make me out to be controlling as he told me he was going for a pint (albeit after he'd already gone) or pretend nothing's wrong.

I'm driving myself crazy and I feel like a fucking mug when I'm anything but.
