Morning all, yes utopian your phone is correct.

We went to Brighton beach yesterday in the lovely sunshine, F got the workout of his life walking all over the pebbles and wet sand. He slept for over 13 hours which is his personal best!
He seems much better after his horrible doctors experiences. spotty and hales hope you're all doing ok.

MrsNutella · 30/03/2014 10:27

Happy Mother's Day everyone!
I was looking forward to brunch at a place near us sitting outside enjoying the day and generally having a nice relaxing day.
Instead PIL rang yesterday and because my mum is here we have to visit. I don't want to go. I have avoided going since January and was planning my next visit to be Easter. I hate going there. I know mil going to be over enthusiastic about me wearing my hair in a ponytail and tell me that my belly is growing - well yeah I'm 22 weeks pregnant soooo it's growing. And she will somehow managed to generally just make me uncomfortable. Don't know what FIL will be like. I'm probably still the demon DIL for daring to stand up to him at Christmas when they don't have problems in their family. Ever.

Argh why am I so wound up about it? Why am I moaning on here... Sorry everyone Hmm.

SpottyTeacakes · 30/03/2014 11:11

Oh no Nutella! I would stamp my foot and not go Wink

halestone · 30/03/2014 12:41

We ended up in A+E as her temp was 39.1oc after calpol and her breathing wasn't normal. We came home at 4 this morning and she finally fell asleep at 5. So from 7am yesterday till 5am today she'd only slept for 2 naps both lasting an hour. She has got yet another chest infection and has slept in our bed but been very restless.

Nutella pretend you've got a headache and don't go.

SpottyTeacakes · 30/03/2014 12:52

Oh no hales! Wine For you and lots of sleep

ddas · 30/03/2014 13:36

hales hope she gets better soon!

barbeasty that's so sad- always think it must be so hard to outlive your child. Hope you managed to raise lots of money!!

spotty hope your 2 are better now. Low grade temp post op normal but if high not normal and likely he has dd's bug.

Hope everyone having a lovely Mother's Day! I'm post nights so half asleep but trying to spend some time with the kids. Ended up falling asleep on sofa whilst they climbed on me as so tired lol. Don't worry dh was on duty too! On plus due to clocks changing I had to work 1 hr less!

SpottyTeacakes · 30/03/2014 13:39

Ddas I was wondering how that worked when I was in a&e yesterday! Do they dock your pay?!

ddas · 30/03/2014 18:03

Nope as we don't get paid per hour so it's either just good or bad luck depending on what side you get. To be fair work late so often past my 'official' end time that think probably owed many extra hours!!

Barbeasty · 30/03/2014 19:18

I may have tested each baking tray of cookies, just for quality control you understand.

It's very sad, she was only 37 and leaves 2 children behind. It must have been almost a month ago now and he's not due back until May.

DC are in bed and we're having a quick beer in the garden, watching the sun go down over the cotswold hills.

SpottyTeacakes · 30/03/2014 19:31

That's really sad beasty Sad

Ds was in bed soon after 6:30 and dd's just going now so no problem with the clocks changing even with the random lie in.

Why is it when I don't wear make up I always get told I look knackered?? Thanks mil.....

We stayed in today, popped to the playground. Dp let ds go down the big slide on his own Shock then I made blueberry muffins but I over mixed it Hmm

Hales I hope h is feeling better

PurplePidjin · 30/03/2014 21:26
Thanks

Happy Mothering Sunday all

Mine was lovely, went to see the ILs who laid on chocolate croissants and bought me a giant box of Thorntons :o Tomorrow will be spent on the phone to my insurance, I got bumped at traffic lights Sad luckily no R in the car but will need a new car seat, plus it's an old car so probably a write off Sad

WLmum · 30/03/2014 22:21

Yay and boo pidj
I had a lovely day too despite DH working an 8-8 shift. I arranged to take dm to pils and stopped at waitrose on the way to buy nice bread and cheese etc for lunch. I was an hour late though as I had been getting ready by the only bloody clock in the house that hadn't been changed! Pil have a decent garden and access to a field right behind their garden (rather than our postage stamp that backs onto the mainline to Waterloo!) so we all went out and played various games. I did get the inevitable remarks about why am I still bfing and when am I going to stop. Er because it's good for her and me and I'll stop when we're ready thanks.

ISpyPlumPie · 31/03/2014 00:05

Hope everyone had a lovely mother's day Thanks.

Yet again I'm being hopeless with keeping up. Have increased my hours at work (still only 20 per week, but now split over four days so feel like I'm there loads) so everything's a bit manic atm until I readjust.

MrsNutella · 31/03/2014 10:30

pidj sorry about the car Hmm but glad you had a lovely Mother's Day!

WL do they say why you should stop? It is definitely a cultural thing and I'm sorry I've got no tips except to say "it's my baby, let me enjoy being a mum in whatever way pleases me".
I still call DS baby although he isn't... He is so huge now. It's crazy how fast it goes.

Great session with my therapist lady this morning. Feel much better.

I couldn't get out of going to the PIL yesterday. Next time will be Easter and I will talk to DH about how we will work it for us for the future.
Anyway, I'm going to buy me some cake on the way home Grin a chocolate doughnut if they have them. Then all really will be right with the world.

SpottyTeacakes · 31/03/2014 10:59

Pidj that's rubbish Sad

WL I'd probably give a sarcastic reply that as she's your last dc you'd like to keep going until she's ten.

I'm so tired and stressed I think everything's catching up with me.

I took dd to nursery for nine (she didn't get up until 8 and we leave at half past), then I've had to pack up fifteen eBay parcels and I've got to leave in a minute to post them then take ds to the nurse for a check up at 12 and get to work for 1:30 (opposite directions). I'm definitely running on empty.

I'm waiting for ds to finish his biscuit so I can change his nappy but he's taking forever!

Stacks · 31/03/2014 13:39

I had an ok Mother's Day. PIL came over and fixed my tumble dryer. DS still isn't well though, he's happy while being played with, but miserable left alone, also still off his food. He ate lots this morning though, so I'm hoping he feels better. DH was up throwing up last night, so is home today feeling sorry for himself. Last time he had a stomach bug was 14 years ago, so I'll allow a bit of melodrama :) Really hope I don't catch it though.

Pidg, sorry about the car. Hope insurance sort everything out quick.

How's H hales?

Barbeasty · 31/03/2014 16:32

Purple shame about the car, last thing you need really.

I was really pleased this morning, when DH brought me a cup of tea in bed. I really wasn't expecting that. But we had a bad night with A, and I'm still shattered from going out on Saturday and getting home so late with the clock change.

Sad this afternoon though, it was the last playgroup ever. But they gave the DC some chocolates and bubble mixture. We've been going for 3.5 years and I'm not sure what we'll do on Mondays after Easter instead.

Oh no beasty, it's sad when you have something favourite which ends.. Glad everyone had good mother's days although bummer about the car pidj and glad no one was actually hurt.

Dh has started his new job so has Friday off with O now- iit's lovely for them, plus I get to have breakfast and lunch with him in between work, which is always jolly when I'm otherwise working alone (O's conversation skills leaving something to be desired on the office banter front!)

nut glad you had a good session - how's the pregnancy? (And stacks and others - forget who) I am really in the thick of morning sickness and it's so much harder than last time, with a perma-turbo 15 month old! 6 weeks left if it follows pattern, urgh.

WLmum · 31/03/2014 19:58

nutella sorry pil are still a pita. Glad therapist and chocolate donuts help though (I had 2 for Mother's Day brekkie!).
spotty hope you got everything done and to work on time. We all got up late following the clocks change so were in a total rush. I normall so say something like until she's 10 and laugh, although it pisses me off. Pil are not really pro bfing beyond a couple of months and think that really it's easier all round to give them a bottle. They used to say all the time with dd2 that she could stay over if I have her bottles. I stopped bfing dd2 at 9 months and she absolutely refused all previous attempts at bottles. I think their hearts are in the right place but a bit misguided.

MrsNutella · 31/03/2014 20:40

Sadly the chocolate doughnuts are no more :( I don't know why but they only have them for a few months. Probably just as well. I had a regular doughnut instead :)

wl the other option I suppose would be the standard MN response of "did you mean to be so rude". I read that in Mongolia they say that all the best wrestlers are bf until they are 6. That might be an interesting one to try out on the PIL?! Wink

Stacks I hope your DH has started to recover and isn't still "at death's door". It is horrible having a tummy bug so I sympathise; although throw in melodramatics and I can only really manage sympathy for about an hour.

utopian sorry about the morning sickness here Biscuit I hope that helps :) I'm fine. Just tired running after DS and I'm fairly sure I didn't spend as much time getting up from playing on the floor in my last pregnancy, that is definitely not getting any easier. This one is a bit of a wriggler. Although I bought some larger normal jeans so she (my guess is pink- but otherwise we are firmly team yellow) is probably getting the hump with the waistband intruding her space.

We move in ten days ish HURRAH. I CANNOT WAIT. Except DH wants to involve the PIL in the move in some way so that they don't feel useless.
Except FIL is having a little exploratory heart thing (where they put a little camera in what's it called in English? Terrible brain fail today) this Wednesday. I've tried to explain to DH that a 72 year old heart patient who had general anaesthetic recently is unlikely to be of help at a move. And MIL is generally less fit than FIL so even less help.

Gaaaaah I have at least managed to say we should wait until after FIL's procedure and we can talk about it again then, when he has a diagnosis.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 31/03/2014 20:49

Angiography Nutella?

Hope all the poorly babies and poorly parents feel better soon.

My laryngitis is now a chest infection. I am coughing up some truly rank stuff

How's DS Spotty?

SpottyTeacakes · 31/03/2014 20:55

He's fine thanks you honestly wouldn't know he'd had anything done. I'm still sore over the hospital parking cost though Hmm

I've read all your posts but I've mainly forgotten. Must go to bed!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 31/03/2014 21:23

Ha I got fleeced when pregnant. Some weeks id have to go to the doctors and the diabetic clinic twice. It'd cost me £9-12 a week for just clinic parking Hmm

Maryland2013 · 31/03/2014 21:41

Spotty how is DS and Hales how is H?

Pidj sorry about the car but glad to hear you are fine.

WLmum · 31/03/2014 22:08

Love it nutella I'm def going to use that one!
Oh dear willyou
Sorry for those with morning sickness - my poor friend has hyper-emersis (sp?) and at 34 weeks is now only sick twice a day!
