We needed a new thread!

J quite literally will play with anyone. He went up to everyone (especially men Blush) in the softplay centre today giving them blocks and balls. He just legged it in all directions and never looked back for me. He's a happy little soul and I've done a great job despite DP working 72 hours a week for the first year of his life.

There's nothing wrong with my self esteem - I, ladies, am a catch! Grin

Barbeasty · 26/03/2014 21:22

Another day off work for me tomorrow, with a sick child (when I tell them, that is!).

Both DC giggling in the back of the car after a good day at nursery. Turn into the drive and A was copiously sick.

Although DD said he had his fist right in his mouth at the time, which would mean he was silly rather than ill, he kept retching for sone me. Finally went to sleep on a towel.

Not impressed that he has now been sick 2 weeks in a row. And worried that since he brought up all his dinner he's going to be hungry tonight...

willyou sounds like his mum is getting in his head. Nod, ignore & carry on doing a great job. 1 day a week compared to every wkend- he must be mad!!!

Has anyone read this thread : www.mumsnet.com/Talk/parenting/2036163-I-would-be-a-bad-mum-if-I-still-lived-in-Germany-Or-differences-in-traditions-and-guidelines?pg=8
I grew up as mainly an expat in several countries and DM is Spanish so mad me laugh as all so true.

Dh away for the week on business- every time he does this one of the dc is guaranteed to be sick. I'm exhausted but can't get to sleep.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/03/2014 07:08

Oh no beasty hope he's ok.

I've read it ddas so funny, and interesting.

I've arranged a night out Shock on my own with my friend, in London (she lives there). She's my all time bestie who I haven't seen properly for years! I'm going Easter weekend and I'm so excited!

Barbeasty · 27/03/2014 08:46

Best night we've had in a while- just 3 wakings! Grrr!

And a lie in!

ddas I saw that. DH's aunt has lived in Germany for at least 30 years, and raised her 3 boys there. To be honest when she comes over her I put a vest on the DC, whatever the weather (usually mid summer!) because it's easier than the discussion about it!

And our mothers day plans are all changed now. DD has just been invited to her best friend's party on Sunday. That'll be me cooking lunch for MIL then!

Poor little boy beasty watching/feeling them retch is awful.
Go spotty go! Hope you have a super marvellous time.

WLmum · 27/03/2014 21:40

Hope A is ok now beasty. T and I both had dodgy bellies today, she was really miserable for a bit this arvo while I was out and then later was a little bit sick which really upset her. I've just been up to resettle her though which is unusual and may not bode well...

SpottyTeacakes · 28/03/2014 05:38

It's operation day Shock wish us luck.

My friend is popping over first to cut ds' hair (again!).

WL hope you're both feeling better.

I keep waking up at 5:30 despite everyone else being asleep....

SpottyTeacakes · 28/03/2014 05:47

Also those with eczema...dd has small patches (getting more and more) of eczema(?) on the backs of her thighs, crease of elbows and wrists. I was leaving it as she said it wasn't sore or itchy but last night she was really scratching it in her sleep. I don't have any double base/aqueous/sudocreme all I have is some antibiotic steroid cream Confused should I leave it or put some of that on?

utopian99 · 28/03/2014 06:17

Good luck with the op spotty! Re eczema I have steroid cream for mine but not sure about age suitability. When O has little patches I've put sudocream on him which seems to help?

SpottyTeacakes · 28/03/2014 06:43

The steroid cream is hers anyway just for something else.

Equimum · 28/03/2014 06:50

I hope DSs op goes well Spotty.

F has steroid cream for his eczema, so would imagine it'd be fine for your DD (not that I'm a dr).

WillYouDoTheFandango · 28/03/2014 07:36

Good luck F. I hope everything goes well Thanks

Barbeasty · 28/03/2014 07:54

Good luck Spotty and little Spotty.

A is fine. Slept ok (for him!) and ate well yesterday.

He and DD have gone off to MIL's this morning with balloons and sausages & sticks. It's her birthday and DD was adamant that those are the things you need for a birthday. I think she's expecting it to be an all day party... Then MIL will come back to ours when I pick the DC up so we can cook her dinner. It feels a bit mean asking her to do the childcare on her birthday and not offer at least that!

Thanks Smile

Beasty that's so sweet. I love their little ideas.

We've got the menu options for our wedding. It looks amazing but I'm a bit worried about my grandparents and little sister finding something they like!

SpottyTeacakes · 28/03/2014 08:01

utopian99 · 28/03/2014 09:58

Mmmmm spotty they sound amazing! I'd go for menu1, partly because it has more things I like on it (and obviously my taste is irrelevant), but also because there's a bit more range of options and a more interesting sounding veggie option...

My dh's ex and her gf have just got engaged - they're good friends and always throw awesome get togethers so looking forward to that wedding! Have three this summer to go to, in various stages of fatness - will be a clothes challenge I think.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 28/03/2014 10:04

Oh no I was going to say Menu 2. I think it has more "safe" options on it for fussy eaters (i.e. most people would eat ham hock or potato aand leek soup). I would eat either one and I rally fancy the lamb shank now Grin

My friends are always being invited to weddings, I have only been to about 4 in my entire life. I'm going to a friend's wedding in Belfast in August and as it's so expensive to go, my friends and I are leaving partners behind and having a girls weekend. CANNOT WAIT!

WLmum · 28/03/2014 12:51

Good luck little spotty!

halestone · 28/03/2014 14:00

Good Luck F Flowers Spotty i hope your ok as well Flowers I would prefer menu 1 but think that more people would prefer menu 2.

ddas · 28/03/2014 14:34

They both look great- making me hungry! But prefer the options on menu 1.

Hope op goes well.

SpottyTeacakes · 28/03/2014 15:03

Ds currently under just waiting....

Votes so far are for menu 1 Smile

Barbeasty · 28/03/2014 15:47

Do they get to choose from the menu, or do you have to choose what everyone has? Of you have close family who might be fussy could you call and ask them if they think there's something on menu 1 either menu that they'd eat?

Or ask if the venue could do something simple for a few people with "dietary issues"?

I'm off to pick up the DC and see if anyone notices my new glasses.

Hope J is feeling better willyou. And as for you being over protective, your DP hasnt me. Im team Willyou on all of those points. Some people may think its a bit pfb (I have been accused of this many a time in the past year) but for me it just feels pretty standard.

Hope today goes well with DS op spotty. Lots of cuddles this weekend Im sure.
Both menus look good to me. Im a fussy easter, yet I would be spoiled for choice from either of them.

I keep dropping off the thread ladies
Work and home still stressful, roll on May when I start mat leave yay!!
Amongst all the madness is my DS, my joy even though he has had a few nightmare nights of sleep this week. Last night he slept through in his own bed which is quite an achievement for him so heres hoping for the weekend.

I have no plans for this weekend, first time in ages and it really really suits me. I fancy lounging around reading glossy/gossip magazines and eating bad food.

coffeeandcream · 28/03/2014 16:23

Hope things are going ok spotty. I can eat like a horse so would chose both your mouth watering menus.

F, DH and I have had a tough two days. F has had a horrible cold and cough which turned into trouble breathing later yesterday afternoon. We went to the OOH doctors and they put him on a nebuliser to help him breathe which he was terrified of. We had to forcibly hold him down, poor boy.

They prescribed him steroids, antibiotics, inhalers and recommended calpol and neurofen too for his fever.

Then this morning we were in a&e for four hours as it was no better. Lots of tests later and they think he has a viral infection. Been a tough few days Sad

We're going to a medicinal chocolate festival tomorrow so I'm sure that will improve things enormously!
