Sorry I missed the glands bit. It wouldn't hurt to get him checked over.

YellowWellies · 24/02/2014 19:37

BP argh Brew good luck with the hissy fit! Luckily the MW led unit and consultant led unit are under one roof and I should still be able to give birth in the MW led unit, it just means a couple of additional appointments with the consultant. Am v glad the hospital is literally a five min preggo lady waddle away from our house Smile

YellowWellies · 24/02/2014 19:37

He was 36 weeks on the nose.

PetiteRaleuse · 24/02/2014 19:48

Hmm French bureaucracy has thrown a spanner in my freelancing work. I want to do it but am unsure of earning very much. As of July I would have the right to unemployment if needed. But it appears that by doing freelance work I would be signing that right away. Which doesn't make sense. I think I am going to have to take an appointment with them and see what's what. I totally understand not being allowed to claim unemployment if you are earning a living wage freelancing, but what if I am only able to earn, say, €100 a month? There must be some way round it. Apparently if I was already unemployed and wanted to set up as a freelancer that would be fine - they'd top up payments until I was on my feet (for a year anyway). But it is just the fact I won't be unemployed until July. But I want to start now. They can't expect me to twiddle my thumbs til then right? I've been thumb twiddling for months.

Ugh. Hate going into town and actually dealing with people especially French bureaucrats

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/02/2014 20:01

Surely it is not all or nothing iyswim?

PetiteRaleuse · 24/02/2014 20:09

That's what I need to work out. I need to do something and have so much planned but none of it will being in much money for ages. If then.

BigPigLittlePig · 24/02/2014 20:13

Hmm F was earlier than that by a few days. If we are still here in a year or 2, then mw and consultant are next door to one another. But we may have relocated by then hopefully near to my parents

PR sounds confusing, as ever! I hope you are able to sort something out.

ChasingDaisy · 24/02/2014 20:56

It's a complaints handler job, pig. I am so well suited to it, it's ridiculous. Have had to cobble together a suitable outfit though - I haven't worn office clothes for two years Shock The hours are perfect - 3 hours a day - and it's a short bus ride from my house and near a Costa I'm excited.

Are we watching OBEM tonight? I take it you will be watching YW? Grin

ChasingDaisy · 24/02/2014 21:04

FGS, I'm crying at OBEM already...

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/02/2014 21:09

I will watch it tomorrow. I am hoping for some sympathy this evening. Wink

Elizadoesdolittle · 24/02/2014 21:33

DH put obem on for me on the iplayer and then buggered off to have a bath Smile What hospital is at at chasing do you know? sounds like a fab job. good luck x

I'm always amazed how many people have more than their bf/df/husband in with them whilst giving birth. My friend ended up having her husband and her mum and dad in with her. I couldn't think of anything worse!

ChasingDaisy · 24/02/2014 21:38

It's the big one in Bristol I think Eliza. It's interesting watching the Chinese/English couple having the induction - that was me not so long ago.

Elizadoesdolittle · 24/02/2014 22:10

I enjoyed that episode. I started to go off it a bit in the last series as not many babies seemed to be being born. Certainly brings it all back!

PurplePidjin · 24/02/2014 22:14

Oops, my mum left me a glass of wine and I forgot to drink it Blush looks like I'll be up for a bit then! I'm happydancing a bit though because someone posted in a local selling group asking if there was a local baby class. A friend tagged me, but further upthread someone I don't even know had mentioned it :o:o:o

ChasingDaisy · 24/02/2014 22:21

That's awesome Pidj Grin

Eliza, don't you reckon the Chinese/English baby was the cutest? Wink The only time I get broody is watching that darn programme. Definitely brought back all the painful memories.

YellowWellies · 24/02/2014 22:25

Sniff that was lovely! Smile

ChasingDaisy · 24/02/2014 22:30

Ach, you're all hormonal YW Grin

I lost count of the number of times I cried during that

Elizadoesdolittle · 24/02/2014 22:35

Hmmm I didn't cry, and didn't cry at either of my daughters births. must be something wrong with me.

Great news pidj.

Just out of interest did anybody else not cry at the birth of their DC?

flouncymcflouncerson · 24/02/2014 22:49

Popping in to update on night 3. He was put in cot by DH and had stopped crying by the time h had left the room. Just had 2 mins of crying there now but all quiet on the western front!

Went to visit my friend and her teensy newborn tonight. 6lb14 she was and so perfect and lovely. Mum doing well after nightmare birth but having feeding issues and midwife issues.

Work left a msg on my answer phone.....I'm shitting myself about calling them back!

J is stirring and moaning again....I won't go in til it's been 5 mins....

PurplePidjin · 24/02/2014 22:51

Bit teary but no actual crying here

PetiteRaleuse · 24/02/2014 23:00

I didn't cry when I had my two.

I was happy though. Maybe the drugs dulled my tear ducts.

GTbaby · 25/02/2014 00:12

I didn't cry with H. Felt very removed from whole thing. Cried with A tho. Fh cried with both.

GTbaby · 25/02/2014 00:54

Bp hope things get worked out with dsd seems a sad situation.

Pp what a testing time the last year has been.

We had a mini break thro today. A settled himself to sleep with only a tiny bit of shushing from me. Not sure what next step is from me.
He feel asleep while bf downstairs but woke when I bought him up. So I say down with him kinda rocking but he wouldn't sleep. So put him in cot. N he was ok. A lil whine n I shushed. Decided to leave the room. He was awake. He was quite but awake so I went down. Hour later I realised he hasn't made a peep.
So do I just replicate this tomorrow ?
If he can put himself to sleep at bed time I guess it becomes more likely he will do this at night wakings. Hope so. As night wakings are killing me.
I napped for 3to5 then fh woke me to feed A, so I fed him in bed and we both slept till 6.30 lol.

Waiting for him to finish feeding now so I can make transfer.

Lily311 · 25/02/2014 06:40

Getting the jabs this am, I guess we are the last ones in the quiche. Had a slightly better night although still a very early start.

ValiumQueen · 25/02/2014 06:49

For the first time ever DH gave up his bed to a child. J was in with me all night, and slept all night. Like a baby Smile I did not hear a peep from the others, and it was lovely cuddling him all night not having to worry about him waking DH. He woke up singing Grin

He has eaten a breakfast for a mouse, but seems fine, just weary.

I got quite a bit of sleep, but kept checking on him.
