Hi all - the old thread was about to run out so I started a new one.

Little Miss was up to mischief last night. Thankfully it's DHs day off today so he took her into bed with him while I slept in the spare room. She is just so excitable when she wakes up at night. It can can 90 minutes to scrape her off the ceiling.

No help with food from here I'm afraid. Fickle is the best way to descibe DS. Frustrated is the best way to describe me.

So, does anyone know about teeth? Might we have canine(s) on the up? There's a lot of drool and gum rubbing towards side & back of mouth...

AlohaMama · 27/03/2014 19:32

Mrs81 isn't it so annoying?? I would be less concerned, only when we started solids she went at it with such gusto she quite quickly reduced her milk intake, so now if she doesn't eat much I worry.

pinkbear82 · 27/03/2014 20:31

Dd has good days and bad days with food, some days she'll eat and eat and eat, others she won't gave any of it.

Have come to stay with my parents for a few days I think dp has been a huge knob, and apparently he needs space. So he has it, I think in my head I know what I need to do, but as always the heart feels differently Sad

Sunbeam18 · 27/03/2014 20:34

Oh pinkbear, I'm sorry to hear of your trouble. If it helps, we are having massive ups and downs at the moment, part of it lack of sleep and the lifestyle change. I hope you are ok x

pinkbear82 · 27/03/2014 20:42

Thanks sunbeam. Sorry things are up and down for you too. Lack of sleep is a huge part for me too, certainly is making me less tolerant.
Mind, lack of sleep doesn't excuse OH, he needs to work. Out if he wants to be in a relationship or not. His actions tell me not. I probably should have walked a long time ago, especially once all my suspicions were confirmed.

Sunbeam18 · 27/03/2014 21:07

Well, whatever happens you have a beautiful daughter and a loving family. You will make the right decision for yourself and Violet. Give yourself some time and space to think things through.

BeanCalledPickle · 27/03/2014 21:28

Pink I'm so sorry to hear that. I often feel like I know you girls, having been through our pregnancies and everything else over the last 18 months. I've always been impressed at how you've handled step daughters and all the prison stuff last year. I hope you can draw strength from your family and friends and make the right decisions for you and Violet. X x x

rrreow · 27/03/2014 21:50

Sorry to hear pinkbear. I hope you'll be able to decide on what is best for you and DD. Glad you've got a place to go to with your parents.

Aloha, I read a recommendation to look at food intake over the course of a week, rather than day by day. Like pink says, some days they eat loads, other days not so much. It's normal. I also remember from DS1 that from weaning age until about 2yo he'd only ever have 2 good meals a day. There was always 1 meal he'd pretty much not touch. We always just have what we're eating and if the kids don't eat it then that's their choice. The only time I make exceptions is when they're poorly (in which case they usually don't want to eat anyway).

pinkbear82 · 28/03/2014 07:18

Thank you ladies. Thanks

And Bean you're right about feeling you know everyone, I feel very close to you all, and poor you lot often share more here than I do in rl.

No idea what I'll do, I'm just taking some time out, as much as I can, and will see what unfolds. Thankful that mum and dad are so wonderful, and tell me frequently they will support me whatever I decide.

Bloody annoyed I didn't bring the frozen apple muffins with me they were lush, for dd obv, not me Wink

SunnyL · 28/03/2014 07:30

Aw Pink - here is a virtual spinach and feta muffin for you. Things do take their toll - lack of space, sleep etc can really affect people and are not necessarily who they are normally or who they want to be. I know when I go through one of my insomnia patches I'm barely hanging on by my fingertips. I do hope things resolve themselves soon.

We've been trying something new the last couple of days. We decided to take a stand against her nightly wake ups. It's gotten so she is in the habit of waking up rather than she is hungry. so we switched off the monitor and shut our door. We can still hear her if she cries but not the giggles and carry ons. Its working! !! For the last 2 nights I've not heard her til 5.30-6am when she's woken hungry but happy. Feels great to get some uninterrupted sleep Grin

Pink bear, sorry to hear you have that to deal with too, he's really put you through the wringer the last 18 months! I found that having dcs made me less tolerant of fuckwittery, be it due to lack of sleep, or lack of emotional energy to give to it. Or maybe it's because being a parent made me grow up a lot, so I'm less inclined to be forgiving of childish behaviour in other adults.

I hope you can work out what's best for you and dd.

HungryHorace · 28/03/2014 08:05

Oh, pink, I'm so sorry to hear that after everything you've been through in the last couple of years.

But as everyone has said, you have your gorgeous DD and supportive family, so whatever happens you'll be fine. xx

I have to admit to taking less shit too. I'm too busy and / or tired to even consider taking it!

DD woke before 4 because she had a wet nappy last night. She won't sleep in it if she thinks it should be changed. Then she wouldn't sleep again, so DH gave her 60ml of water and she went sleep. First time we've done water, but we don't want her thinking she can wake for a snack! Good job she loves water is all I can say. :-)

MadameJ · 28/03/2014 08:25

Sorry to hear that Pink I think having children tests even the strongest relationships, sounds like a good plan to take some time away!!

Sunny I have being tempted to not take the monitor to bed as I think I'm rushing in too quick, but I'm so paranoid that she will wake dd1 up! I tried leaving her a bit last night but she just got louder and started kicking the cot bars, it took me bloody ages to settle her then :-(

SunnyL · 28/03/2014 09:10

MadamJ it was a tricky decision. We've been going to her really quickly since the beginning because it meant at least one of us might sleep through it. Also like you it tended to be quicker to settle her if we went quickly. BUT she's been giving us signs that she is ready. She has had patches of 3-4 days when she slept through, she never cries when she wakes up - just giggles and chats to bunny. The other sign was how she'd take a bottle out of habit but wasn't necessarily hungry. It's only been 2 nights so I'm not saying we've cracked it just that there are encouraging signs it might work.

Sorry to hear what you're going through pinkbear.

And I can't believe how awful your work is being, Mary. I hope you've had some advice and you get it sorted out soon.

What a pain that you've got to move again, MrsBri. I'm glad the scan went well, I can't believe you're 20 weeks pregnant!

No dogs here but cats who won't leave DD alone - they try to sit on top of her regularly (when she's asleep on me during the day). Also good hoovers, they eat anything (they're fans of the cheese and broccoli muffins!).

DD eats everything, she isn't fussy (there hasn't been anything that she won't eat). She has foods that are obviously her favourites but we don't give those more often. She eats more on some days than others but her appetite has massively increased in the past month. It took a good couple of months for her to want more than one bite of food. I'd persevere with giving a variety of stuff as I heard somewhere that if they eat a large variety before age one they're less likely to be fussy in future.

Glad the sleeping is going well so far, Sunny.

Mrs81 · 28/03/2014 17:02

Am on phone so name checking is reliant on sleep deprived memory, sorry!

Pinkbear- hugs. It sounds like you're having a soul searching time. I hope things work out as you want them to xx

Congrats on the scan Mrsbri! I am in total awe of you and Sweetpea for being pregnant already. I told DH that I wouldn't even consider it until I had a week of solid night's sleep (which could be some time)! Grin

So I did some teething googling at 3am; I think we have molars coming in a little earlier than we'd ordered them. There's definite bumps in the molar direction (and it seems canines generally come later). May I suggest that you all take out shares in Calpol? We are racing through the stuff.

Despite some awful nights, we are getting to grips with cot napping. At last. I've not done anything in particular, he just seems to be getting the hang of it so maybe those who still struggle with naps will have similar joy soon.

Happy Fridays one and all Smile

rrreow · 28/03/2014 17:15

Brew and/or Wine for you mrs81 whichever is needed to cope with the teething! I think we're going through a quiet patch right now (KNOCK ON WOOD!) after months of non-stop. We've got 6 teeth now.

It just figures that on the very very rare night that DH and I are having a date night, I feel like death warmed up. Some weird stomach bug but luckily (so far) no D&V. It's been coming on for a couple of days and today I feel like I have a HUGE hangover teamed with stomach cramps. Not sure what this is, never experienced anything like it (well, apart from a hangover). Still going to try and go out though as seriously, date nights are like gold dust.

Mrs81 · 28/03/2014 18:33

Thanks rrreow. Wine would be welcomed but Brew would be wiser given the night wakenings!

Hope you feel better and have a lovely date night.

pinkbear82 · 30/03/2014 07:22

Happy mums day all - be proud of the way you are doing things, your little ones have the best Mum who is doing a fantastic job. I hope what ever you do today it's filled with love and hugs. Thanks x

SunnyL · 30/03/2014 10:02

Well done Pink was coming on to say something nice about Mothers day but you put it much more eloquently than me Wink

Happy Mother's Day! Grin Hope you're all having a lovely day x

SunnyL · 30/03/2014 20:09

Soooooooo no one told Lily the clocks have gone forwards. DH has just eaten his dinner with a wriggly baby on his lap after she refused to go to bed. Twas an interesting experience trying to eat roast pork while someone tries to do root canal surgery on you with their snot covered finger Grin

MaryWestmacott · 30/03/2014 20:55

I hope you all had a fabulous mother's day! DD has been practicing standing without holding anything, then took one step unaided, then promptly sunk down again, but still, I'm calling it!
