Hello ladies, can you believe we will be entering into a 6th year of this thread this year?

Thanks Jam, bit better. Just felt it was all getting away from me! Just back from SA yesterday. Bitter sweet as dh had planned to come with me as he'd entered the bike rice in Cape Town, but loads quickly filled up and we even had BA staff on our spare crew seats so wouldn't have wanted him to be tortured in one of those for 12 hours home then straight to work! There was a not so text book school run with DH I'm told! [sigh] trouble is he sets himself up for the drama - he's just not around them enough doing school runs etc to know what to do to get them out the door and mentioned at one point to me about "them riding bikes to school while I was away" which I quickly said "no way" (which ds overheard)- a big problem is ds associate's dh with riding bikes so melt down tastic when it wasn't going to happen to school and he thought he could sway dh!

Arti I may have been confusing writing that post - I meant dh thought he could get off his rotation eraly to take a fellowship post (twas in Bournemouth) but they have changed the rules and made him withdraw his resignation at C&W so he'll have to stay put there until either July or maybe Oct.
Apart from that awful GP sticking her beak in (she keeps seeing notes and referring me to a local hospital after I've since seen a different GP at the same practise who has since referred me to C&W!) but hopefully dh is going to get me moved up the list to see his mate there. Just waiting to get a revised clinic appt Wink and am going to see the physio there at the same time about the shins, although they seem to be fine at the moment. Will let you know when I'm incase of potential meet up possibility!

Lady hope the tiredness passes soon - so excited for you - sorry I keep meaning to get back to you re meet ups and still haven't! I'm desperate to. Just seem to be consumed with moving plans (or lack there of at the moment) and viewings here are constant (7 this first week) which I want to be around for due to the dog etc (or take her out) Prob on a Monday the most likely as I could stick ds in after school club. Our lovely tenant is on the move too but fortunately e have two months notice so can get marketing however it badly clases with us moving ourselves - not ideal.

Have looked at a few houses and having trouble with what to compromise on since we will be paying a lot more in rent than we do now. But hey ho.

ZJ - agree with you, really wish schools would teach kids the big picture - quite annoying. I actually factored in with our move that at least one place we are interested in is closer to the farm shop! I still get Ocado, but always try to buy local farm shop for fruit and veg when possible.

Kayz - great news on the driving test. You'll be great! And Lady - don't delay - DEF do an intensive before #3 comes along!

Jealous of all the hols - we will be going nowhere (as a family at least) until all this housing malarky is sorted. Will have to bite my tongue and enlist mil to stay while dh comes on a trip with me again sometime.

Bro still struggling. But calling me less so I'm seeing that as a positive.

Right, must get on with a million things on my list. DH not home again tonight and there's a viewing again here. ds in Spanish lesson after school again - so funny he just comes home saying "hola" and telling me he can talk like Dora. Oh well - it's a term of socializing with his mates one afternoon!

Mckayz · 11/03/2014 14:46

ZJ, Mevagissey is gorgeous. I don't know if it's on your list of things to do but the model railway place in Mevagissey is awful. DH went when he was 8 and it hadn't changed in 18 years. But the place itself is lovely.

JamInMyWellies · 12/03/2014 20:38

Can someone lend us the stamp duty so we can move here love it

Honsandrevels · 12/03/2014 21:05

Evening all, marking my place for a proper post tomorrow. Love the hol talk, we're off to Norfolk in the summer. Early night for me. Dd2 has a cold and her sleep has gone to pot again, just when I'd got used to sleeping all night.

ZuleikaJambiere · 13/03/2014 08:24

We went to Norfolk last year Hons, I highly recommend Bewilderwood for a day out, it was fab - like Go Ape but for kids. Where are you staying?

Mckayz · 13/03/2014 09:10

I grew up in Norfolk. Banham zoo is really good and so is the dinosaur park.

I keep meaning to book a caravan in Norfolk and take the DC to the places I used to go as a kid.

JamInMyWellies · 13/03/2014 09:21

I know lots of people who have been to bewilderwood apparently its fab.

JustRubes · 13/03/2014 10:54

lovely Jam. Stamp Duty didn't help our plan to purchase here either! 22k - madness.

JerusalemArtichoke · 13/03/2014 15:55

We spent half term on the north Norfolk coast and i was amazed at its beauty. There is an old boat moored at Wells-On-Sea and you can crab off the edge while drinking at the bar and eating yummy pancakes.

Lovely house Jam.

Im so ill. I think its sinusitis. I have a terrible fever and can barely move for the head pain.

ZJ, idc love to meet, will reply to you on FB.

ZuleikaJambiere · 13/03/2014 19:28

We had pancakes on that boat too Arti, was ace!

Honsandrevels · 13/03/2014 20:18

Ooh thanks for the recommendations. Dd2 has given me her stinking cold.

beans37 · 13/03/2014 22:02

just been to see Miranda at the O2. Surprised by how funny I found it! had to leave in interval sadly as don't want to be home too late. exhausted by the older 2 not sleeping through, not the baby!!

JustRubes · 14/03/2014 06:54

I LOVE her Beans!!!! EnvyEnvyEnvy

JerusalemArtichoke · 14/03/2014 10:23

I love her too. I'm not sure why but I really do. She lived on my old street and I always hoped to strike up conversation but she was uber shy.

Still feeling crap. Not fair in this sun.

beans37 · 14/03/2014 11:07

I did her make up on a pilot for a show once. She wasn't v friendly. Maybe the shyness. And she was at school with my sister in law and friends with her husband. Small old world. It was v funny.

Vagolajahooli · 15/03/2014 08:23

hi ladies got the lurgy here too. I'm at ds1's swimming club this morning and the heated pool area is making me feel worse. Have to go to dh's boss' house for the entire afternoon grrr. At least she is easy to deal with. She is one of those people who just talks about her work problems constantly, so I've found if I just look interested and nod she is happy. As a result she loves me and so keeps inviting us over, which could be quite dull....except that my boys play happily with her boys, and her DH is a faign waine trader so I'm sorted for the afternoon. Kids are sorted, wine constantly topped up as long as I nod and make all the right noises.

Kayz I meant to say of all the places I've been around the world there are two that I really wanted to do but haven't yet, they are Sicilly & Newquay. Sad story, I actually got to Newquay several years ago when pregnant with DS2. DH had a client down that end of the world, so ds1 & I went with him for the weds til Friday & then on the friday we drove across to Newquay with the plan of camping for the weekend & going to the eden project. The first night of camping ds1 was really unsettled, we just though it was going from the posh hotel (DHs work was paying for that bit) to the tent. When we woke the next morning he had a raging fever and the weather was horrid. So we did a quick drive by Newquay beach and headed home. I'm still sad about it to this day. I'd love to go back and have a surf sometime.

Mckayz · 15/03/2014 11:27

Just a quick post but the special needs people have finally got in touch about DS1's assessment and they think he's got ADHD. Feel a bit crap Sad

beans37 · 15/03/2014 18:14

Oh Kayz, what a bugger. what are they suggesting?

So I went out last night. didn't drink that much, but am wiped out. guess 2 nights in a row too much for an old bat like me.

lovely day in the garden. DH off to India on Monday. quite looking forward to not having to ALWAYS put the fecking loo seats down after him. I keep finding DD2 sitting on the rim hanging on. rank.

Mckayz · 15/03/2014 19:24

Beans, that is grim. I keep having to remind DS2 to flush the toilet.

They haven't suggested anything yet, we need to have a meeting. Hes been absolutely brilliant the past few months.

IAmDeids · 15/03/2014 19:49

Kayz who instigated the meeting you or school? Also what behaviour leads them to think its ADHD?

The reason I ask is DS had to see an Inclusion Officer in pre school because of his behaviour in pre school, she talked a lot about the schools SENCO being involved I. His transition into school & to watch him. I had his parents eve this week and his teacher said she has had no issues with his behaviour and had not seen what nursery saw. In short she raved about him!

I think my point is that don't worry to much ( easier said than done the whole thing made me sick). If he's been fine lately it may just be a development thing. DS definitely took longer than his peers to mature and realise what is acceptable behaviour.

Am thinking of you x

Mckayz · 15/03/2014 21:20

School have instigated it. Well the senco people have. It's to be at my house. It's meant to be Wednesday but DH has been delayed so I want to try and rearrange it so he can be here.

JamInMyWellies · 15/03/2014 22:55

Kayz I would ask to see a report beforehand so you are aware if what they feel is happening.

Beans so know what you mean the amount if times I have gone for a midnight pee only to sit in the cold rim. ConfusedConfused

I think I have thrush my nipples are on fire. BF lovely type people any tips until I can see the GP on Monday.

beans37 · 16/03/2014 08:08

Oh Jam, that sounds sore. I have no idea I'm afraid.

Dropped the 10.30 feed last night. DD3 slept from 6.30-6.345. Longest ever! Sadly the older 2 were up at 5 as I'd told them they were allowed to go downstairs and watch telly on their own first thing. But they had to wake me to tell me. Poor things. The telly hadn't even started then, so I sent them back to bed with a proper flea in their ears. Yaaaaawn!

Vagolajahooli · 16/03/2014 09:11

kayz how are you feeling about the ADHD? not sure if it helps but I was diagnosed with ADD in high school (like ADHD but I was quiet and shy as apposed to hyperactive). I was ritalin for a while but actually kept forgetting to take it. I found high school ok but didn't excel. However, something clicked at University and I did really well. I am fine now, I find I am easily distracted and can lose focus if I done find something interesting, though I think that is the same for a lot of people. I jump from idea to idea and change plans constantly, but these days I see the advantages of planning ahead and being focused so can control it a lot better. I've managed to get a degree, a grad. dip and am now working towards a masters (not that university is the bee all, just showing I can focus) plus I was trusted enough to manage a department at a major London hospital. So anyways, what I'm saying is, the diagnosis is helpful but it's not indicative of his future. I would go into this meeting and be asking them "what do we do now?" make sure they don't just focus on his behaviour, focus on the future and how they want you to support his school work and behaviour at home.

Jammy, can you get to a pharmacist (maybe in a big supermarket) and see if the oral thrush tablet you take for fanny thrush would work? It's the same bacterium but in a different place. Worth a shot? I suppose you can't really put yoghurt on it on your boobs. get well soon.

Off out today. Lovely in the sunshine. Hope you are all well and happy XXX
