Qumquat my DS is a really quick feeder - feeds between 7-10 minutes and only takes one boob per feed but he does seem to feed more regularly which I think is because of this, usually around 2 hourly through the day. I think I'm lucky really on how well he feeds.
Mum hope you have managed to grab some sleep!
My LO had his jabs today too. Has been sleepy since and had about an hour of refusing to feed and screamed but that seems to have settled after calpol and infacol. Fingers crossed it doesn't affect him too much Smile

Dasie · 10/02/2014 17:41

Crispy my DS sometimes gagged initially with the dummy but is fine now. I found if dummy was warm and put in slowly it helped Smile

Hi all. Hope your ok mum - sending positive thoughts to you- can't imagine how hard it is for you but sounds like your doing amazingly.

Storm could I please join the fb group?

My ds had injections today- was a little grumpy but now sat playing and giggling at DH- strange child!

Dasie - I don't want to speak too soon but seriously - why did no one mention warming the dummy?! He was fussy... dipped it in a bit of warm water for a few seconds... and he is sitting there sucking away. Grin If this works long term I could kiss you!

Well after a truly shitty night it seems we've turned a corner! Doc came round and said he could have his oxygen tube removed and try bf. He latched on and fed and was sooo content. But since I've had no sleep in 3 days DH is staying over whilst I stay home and sleep- bliss! I'm so glad he's on the mend, it's been heartbreaking seeing him so ill. Thanks for all your support! I'm so emotionally and physically drained!!!

Mogz · 10/02/2014 22:35

Wonderful news mum, I'm sure he was so so happy to have boob again after such an ordeal. Get yourself rested now.

froubylou · 11/02/2014 01:25

So happy to hear that mum. Get some sleep tonight cos I bet he is home in a couple of days and ruling the roost!

lisbapalea · 11/02/2014 01:52

Great news mumof - hope you enjoy a decent sleep!

Hotmad · 11/02/2014 05:57

Really good to hear mum, I hope he gets even better and be home with you soon!!

Mogz · 11/02/2014 07:12

Oh joyous day, Genevieve went to sleep at midnight and is still snoozing away! I'm tempted to have a shower but as I've already mucked about on here for 20 mins I might be pushing my luck.

lisbapalea · 11/02/2014 08:19

Well done mogz that's brilliant! I feel like we're edging our way towards just one night time feed as Hannah goes down around 7 - 7.30, and now wakes around 1.30 and again around 4.30. I'm hoping that both of those will move gradually later until we're just doing one night feed, and then hopefully none!!

froubylou · 11/02/2014 08:37

I am very jealous of all of you getting long blocks of sleep.

Seb goes down between 9 and 10 then wakes every 3 hours. He is like clockwork lol.

Really hope he starts getting better soon.

Had a brilliant afternoon in the pub with my friends. But am pissed off with my supposed best friend. She has seen the baby twice since he was born and one of those times was because she wanted me to help her do her tax return. Then whilst sat with my dd who is 9 and the friend who came down to see us she was effing and jeffing and talking about her job. She works in a care home so her work stories can be a bit yuck. I just don't think stories of scrapping shit off peoples backs and swearing like a trooper is appropriate conversation in polite company.

I swear I admit but there is a time and a place.

Alyssa1978 · 11/02/2014 08:49

Brill news mum hope J is home soon and enjoy your sleep xx

Lost 3 and a half pound at slimmers so I have officially lost one stone and half a pound in 4 weeks Grin

Alyssa1978 · 11/02/2014 10:18

I swear it like night and day in our house, I feel like I'm happy for about 5 minutes before fap is a complete wanker Angry
It was L first injections and rotavirus today and that star knows how upset I get at them and I hate going in at all never mind alone.
So we pack all 3 kids into the car and when we got there made it very clear it was pointless us all going in, so I had to take ds1 with me and Lleyton on my own, carrying the carseat when my back etc is still killing me while he sat on his useless arse in the car with ds2 Angry I am so angry I could drop kick him in his smug little face.
Had the nerve to ask why I was in the huff on the way home, I told him he should have come in with us, he's the dad and its not just my responsability the twat

Alyssa1978 · 11/02/2014 10:19

Not star twat

lisbapalea · 11/02/2014 11:23

frouby glad you had fun with your pub lunch but I know what you mean about swearing friends - does she have kids? I am definitely a potty mouth myself but I rein it in if kids are around but am amazed by how many people don't bat an eyelid with swearing in front of children.

alyssa hope you get your 'fap' to see sense!! And also hope your little one is Ok after the jabs. And a huge well done on your weight loss - how close are you to your target now?

I started my own health regime last week after shocking myself on the scales, and have lost 4lb in a week from cutting out the crap! Really pleased and hope I can carry on, even though I know i can't lose that much every week!

Alyssa1978 · 11/02/2014 13:08

Well done lisb that's brill
I put my target at 10 stone so I still have nearly 3 stone to loose until I hit target but hopefully ill keep going like I am and I'm hoping its off by the time the years out xx

lisbapalea · 11/02/2014 14:23

Wow - you are my inspiration!

I also want to lose 3st, to take me to 11.7 (not sure if I've even been 10st in my adult life!!). I reckon end of the year is a good timeline to work to but it'd be nice if it could be sooner!

Mogz · 11/02/2014 14:25

Well done to all of you with your weight loss.
I'm going to kill my DH, the bastard had the audacity to buy me a box of chocolates which I of course had to snaffle my way through last night, I'm pretty sure it's undone all my efforts. They were damn tasty though!

froubylou · 11/02/2014 18:05

Every Monday I start my healthy eating pledge.

Pub lunch yesterday. Bought myself a box of chocolates today.

Hotmad · 11/02/2014 18:54

Ahh the weight loss subject, I have been on diet my entire adult life until I was pregnant and it was really hard to let go of dieting but now I'm being so bad! I figure it's ok to eat a bar of choc on my way home cos I live up a hill and I'm pushing a pram!!
Pls can anyone help with ideas on how to get my DD to take gripe water, she won't take a dummy so not sure a medicine dummy would help, I tried a spoon, a syringe in side of mouth she just spits it out, don't blame her though it's an odd taste .... Any ideas??

mumofthreeboysS · 12/02/2014 01:31

hot sorry no other suggestions- keep persevering with the syringe?

Re weight loss-well the stress of the past few days has helped me shift a few pounds! My goal is to tone up mainly- and shift that wobbly tummy! I'd like to start running but don't think my pelvic floor is up to it yet!

So I think we have a sleep problem and not sure what to do- Joshua was put on his front in hospital due to it being better for his lungs whilst he was recovering- now he won't sleep on his back. I have him laid on my chest as I type this as he won't settle in his Cocoonababy. What to do?! I'm too scared to put him on his front due to higher risk of SIDS. (Tho know my friend gave in and let her baby as it was the only way he'd sleep) I could try normal Moses basket mattress and half swaddling I guess? I'm still so knackered from our ordeal I just want him to sleep!...

mumofthreeboysS · 12/02/2014 04:58

Managed to put him in the Cocoonababy once he was asleep on me. I guess it's early days and he's still recovering so I need to be patient! The Routine we had is gone too- but at least he's getting better.
