Our very first Thread :)

I thought everyone might have switched to fb. I may be being silly but feel like I don't want to share family photos etc. Are they visible to the group?all you ladies have been so great with support over my pregnancy and beyond but it is somehow easier being anonomous IYSWIM.

I'm also happier here than on fb, not sure why?!

Urgh, dreading the teething! DD1 started at 3mths, got her first one at 5mths and had every single tooth including molars by the time she was 1! It was awful! Hannah does have her fists in her mouth a fair bit, but seems reasonably happy (apart from at her witching hour of 5-6pm which continues....) so I am convincing myself that teething is a way off!

We seem to be making progress with sleep - Hannah actually slept through until 6ish on Sunday and Monday night (going down at about 7.30 after feeding at 6.30ish). Last night she woke at 3am so the sleeping through is definitely not guaranteed but it's good to know she can! Last night was her first in a sleeping bag (she's usually loosely swaddled), so I don't know if tht affected the sleeping.

Are everyone else's little ones still fitting their Moses baskets? Hannah is pretty long so is now right up to the top end. I think we might put her in a travel cot in our room instead, especially as we're going on holiday in 10days and she'll be in a travel cot then, so I thought I might give her some practice in one first!!

lisb thats great that Hannah slept through -even if it's not every night! The best Josh has done is 5am so I guess we're getting there, though the last few nights its been around 3am too. And he projectile vomited on me last night - was such a shock! not sure why tho he was a bit snuffly so maybe his nose was a bit blocked.

He's still possetting a bit- Im still not sure why as he never used to?! I'm not sure if he's just being greedy and feeding when he should stop. He never pulls off when he's full, just wriggles around then I burp him so I'm not sure whether to put him back on or think he's had enough? The benefits of bottle feeding- you can see how much they've had!

Oh bugger. After tempting us with two nights of sleeping through, Hannah's been up twice tonight. I know that isn't bad compared to some, but it does feel like we've gone backwards a bit - I thought the sleep regression was 16wks, not 12!!

She doesn't even seem hungry so god knows what it's all about!

Hopefully it's just a blip! Josh has been waking around 4-5am then he woke at 3 a couple of times and I was miffed thinking he was going backwards. I guess it can vary depending on if they've had enough during the day. I just feel like Josh sleeping through is a lifetime away! Oh well we'll get there eventually so don't lose hope!

We've had a lot of sleep ups and downs recently. He went from 2 feeds to 3, now back to 2 but has been really hard to settle last 3 nights, so up longer than 3 easy feeds :( but last Saturday I had the best night since he was born, 2 feeds (12 and 5) and both were really quick and straight back down. There is light but it's a very long tunnel and also dreading the 4 month regression...

Hi, still here, been lurking without posting...
DS has been trying to sleep through the night in that he has woken at the usual times but only drunk a little before going back to sleep... until 5am when he has woken with gas pain or colic. It is like he is trying to stay asleep, though, and he is upset if he wakes up fully. Still breastfeeding, with one bottle of expressed milk from DH after DS' bathtime while I get my bath. He doesn't seem to be putting on weight quite so quickly at the moment though - his face was quite chubby and round a couple of weeks ago but he seems to have grown lengthwise.

I really hope it was a blip. I totally don't think she needed the two night feeds, as she vomited after her proper morning feed (she very rarely voms now), so I think she had overdone it with drinking in the night.

Tonight she woke at 12 but wasn't really crying, just half moaning / chatting, so I left her to it and she went back to sleep after a few mins - I probably should have done that yesterday instead of getting her up and feeding her. She then woke at 3ish and was much more awake so I have fed her and she has drunk much more effectively that at last night's feeds, so hopefully we're moving back down to just one feed.

Nothing is a straight line of progress is it? Just when you think things are moving in one direction something comes along to jolt you out of knowing what's going on!!

Still 2feeds here :( it becomes degrading when you haven't had a fall night sleep since the day they was born right? Or am i being selfish?

Nope super it can be really hard. Is there anyone that can have baby for a night? I'm lucky as Amelia only wake once now! X

We're on holiday and Hannah is being great, but it is amazing how paranoid I am getting over her seeing any sunshine! She is very fair-skinned, much more so than her sister, so I am keeping her slathered in suncream and entirely in the shade, which means she is probably quite chilly while the rest of us enjoy the warmth! It's only the low 20s but that's pretty hot compared to what she's been used to at home!

She was a bit poorly last week with a horrible cold and temperature and still has a lingering cough but seems pretty much back on form now. The cough meant she was throwing up most of her feeds and I was terrified she would do that on the plane over me and/or some passengers but thankfully she held it in!

She also treated us by sleeping through on our first night here, but was back to feeding once in the night last night.

Just got a babycentre bulletin which said that 3mths is when they usually laugh - I know DD1 laughed very early but so far nothing from Hannah, although she smiles and coos a lot, and does now bat at toys etc. Anyone else had any laughter yet?

Hannah is 3mths today - cannot believe how quickly that time has gone!

Lilah laughed a few times but shes a little older! So jealous of all you lucky ladies going through the night with 1feed!!! Im off to tenerife in june and not looking forward to a holiday were i wake up in the night!

DS started laughing at 10 weeks, (13 weeks now), just little chuckles but it's so cute it makes me wanna cry!!

We are still having mainly 2 wake ups a night really (ebf). Last night was 23:30-02:;45-06:20 and then awake for the day which was rather tiring Most of the time he will go back to sleep at that time of morning but not today!

He seems to be more colicky this last week as well which I'm not sure what has brought that on

Anyone got signs of teething emerging? Hannah's had fists in her mouth for weeks but I have put that down to either comfort or just working out what her hands are! But recently I have noticed her cheeks are quite red and this afternoon we had several incidences of really horrible crying for no real reason. The crying has subsided now and she seems happy so I am hoping it was a brief blip!

We have had fists in mouth and lots of dribbly bubbles for a few weeks too LO has a tooth just waiting to bust through, don't think it'll be too much longer. Haven't had the rosy cheeks though! Had a few poonamis though!!
Have most people disappeared to facebook now? Seems so quiet here these days!

Yep I think we have lost everyone to Facebook! I am still checking in on here from time to time though.

Wow dasie can't believe you have a tooth really emerging already! How old is your LO?

I am quite confused about the lack of pattern for our night feeds - we're (fortunately) up just the once, but that can be anytime at all, from 1.30 to 5.45! I had thought it was getting later and later but then a 1am wake up will happen to blow that theory!
Dh is fretting that she isn't sleeping through as dd1 was by now, but I am trying to reassure him that one wake up per night is still pretty good at 3mths. Mind you I am looking forward to the wonderful time when it really does happen!

Hi, I know this thread has been dead for a while but not sure where else my question would sit.

I have a six-month old daughter who is currently ebf but over the last few days we have been trying to introduce solids. She's had a few spoonfulls of puree but she is always still hungry for breastmilk afterwards. She will drink water/breastmilk from a cup but again it seems to be a snack - not the main event.

I asked her grandparents to babysit her this weekend for an evening while we attend a party. The intention was to give her a big bf before I left and that she would settle shortly after (as it is around her usual bedtime) and that if she woke to give her expressed milk/water and comfort. and phone us if any problem.

Now they've told us that they're going to a function that night "for an hour" but intend to take her with them. Aside from all the car-seat/buggy logistics etc, They seem to think this will be ok but I'm really not sure. I think it will unsettle her and worry that it's past her bedtime. I have visions of daughter getting very upset and more often than not only boob will comfort her.

WWYD? I think I should probably take her with us (even though I've been looking forward to my first child-free evening for months) but just wanted to check I'm not being a bit too pfb/paranoid about it?
