Lol mogz I've got that image now Grin

stom I know exactly what you mean, also got to be true to some degree, getting germs lets our body know his to fight them off etc.

Definately should've NOT done Zumba, had no shoulder/neck/back pain thanks to mr panadol but oh my gosh! I'm paying for it this morning.
Plus I got up to feed Lleyton last night and walked right into the corner of our wooden bed post ouch fucking ouch ow! Sporting a lovely big bruise this am.

froubylou · 19/01/2014 12:51

Morning all.

Lol at babies fighting with herbs. Reckon seb could take basil and sage but rosemary double hard pmsl.

Grrr anyone else have a complete muppet for a dp? Mine is on the shitlist again. He went out yesterday afternoon which I wasn't happy about. It's very rare that either one goes out separately normally but since having the baby hr seems to be out every weekend at some point. Only for a few hours and only teatime or an afternoon but when I have been in all week with the baby bfing it's beginning to piss me off.

And then this morning he put his hand on the overhang bit 2 c sections have left and said it felt weird, asked how long it would take to go back to normal and then went on to say that there were some support knickers being advertised on tv. Be some jml infomercial he has watched.

Well thanks pal. I burst into tears. Again. Sigh. Just can't help myself ay the minute. I can be happy as Larry and still tear up ay the slightest thing. Got to be the hormones. Dp thinks I'm losing the plot I think. I'm not just can't help get teary at the moment.

Worked out ok though. Saw a tv for dds room and he darent say no pmsl.

Lots of luck for the weigh in tomorrow alyssa

Welcome rachie

This week was my first week without DH and I have to say Monday went brilliantly but then it went downhill and by Thursday I wasn't coping very well, DH bless him didn't go footy training in the evening so I could have a break and try to pull myself back together. James has been super clingy and if I put him down he was screaming blue murder and barely slept at all during the day, I just about managed to eat let alone get any housework done. feeling even more nervous for this week now Sad

mumofthreeboysS · 19/01/2014 14:33

mrsshrubs it's tough isn't it? I've been a bit frustrated by not being able to do anything. I'm Either feeding him or holding him! Have you got a sling? I find at least I can do a few bits if i put him in it.

Has anyone who's bf got pain free feeding yet?? Joshua is just over 3 weeks now and although tongue tie has been sorted it's still pAinfull to feed. Tho I sometimes find the pain does reduce during a feed tho not straight away. I have been trying to make sure I relatch as much as needed to avoid damaging my nips but sometimes think the latch is good so maybe I just have to put up with the pain. Feels like he's really clamping down with his gums sometimes.

Mogz · 19/01/2014 14:57

MrsS do try a sling to put him in, it really helps when they're being super clingy, means you can get a drink/go to the loo/eat lunch without the screaming soundtrack. I'm sure you've tried everything bu my dad used to swear by sticking me in my pram without a blanket and walking round the block a time or two, come rain, shine or snow. Used to shut me right up, and apparently I could scream for England. Hope he gives you some rest soon.

Alyssa1978 · 19/01/2014 15:19

mum mine clamped down with their gums but it was them stopping the glow to have a wee break.

Alyssa1978 · 19/01/2014 15:19

Flow not glow lol

MrsShrubs · 19/01/2014 17:18

I was thinking of getting a sling, at least I would be able to eat with two hands! What are people using? Taking him round tesco in the pram on Thursday saved my sanity!!!

froubylou · 19/01/2014 17:34

Mrs it does get easier I promise.

I drove myself daft at first worrying about what I needed to do around the house. Now I only do stuff that I can do while he is in the sling or it waits until dp is home. Unless he is asleep. It helps if you make sure things are top tidy before bed the night before. So pots washed, washing machine pre loaded and laundry put away etc. Hoovering and dusting I can do while he is in sling if I want.

I was thinking about when dd was tiny and how I coped. Once she got to about 3 months it got loads easier. And going for a walk when all else fails is a default setting for us lol. Luckily I have a dog too so there is always a reason to walk!

Plus it definitely helps with the weight loss!

Do you have to have a 6 week check? I am fine and can't really be bothered. Need to book seb in for docs though. Can't have his vaccinations until doc seen him for some reason. And he has his hip scan this Friday.

I have a caboo dx close. Like it a lot.

Mogz · 19/01/2014 19:34

Frouby I've got my 6 week check on Tuesday, got a few things I want to ask the doc. I'd like her to have a look at Genevieve's spots, as they're getting quite bad over her scalp. And I'm still having some muscle pain in my groin, so I'm a bit worried I've done more damage than expected to things.
MrsS if you'd like to PM me your address I've got a Victoria Sling Lady fabric wrap sling that you can have. Was bidding on two on eBay as I didn't expec them to go for cheap, but they did and I ended up with both! I've got the paperwork/insructions too. I like it for when I'm round the house as its really light. I've got a Caboo dx for when we're out shopping and walking as its just that bt more sturdy and the shell makes it warmer.

mumofthreeboysS · 19/01/2014 21:17

alyssa yeah I've heard babies do that (clamp down) if the let down is too fast- so maybe he's doing that. Also not sure if he's doing it as sometimes he's so hungry it's like he's chewing his way through-lol!

mrsS I use a Moby sling - it's one long piece of material you wrap around and there are different ways to wrap it- baby is very snug and he often naps in it at some point during the day.

mogz I have pain below my stomach near my groin- I notice it when I sneeze or cough- feels like the muscles are basically fooked! I guess they are and maybe strengthening exercises will help- maybe you have something similar? I'm going to ask at my 6 wk apt too tho still 3 weeks to go before that.

Alyssa1978 · 19/01/2014 22:20

Lol mum got visions of your baby trying to chew your boob off Hmm lol

Mogz · 19/01/2014 22:25

mum I'm getting it mostly when I'm walking, a real dull ache like everything is overworked. It probably is just a case of gently getting back to exercising.

Sangelina · 20/01/2014 04:55

Hello all, newbie here! I just found you all. J was born on dec 16th, 7lb 5. We were in for. 6 days, forceps birth, I had strep b, he had jaundice. All ok now! Awful time at first with no sleep, he won't settle in basket so were co sleeping. He was mix fed in hospital to shift the jaundice but is bf now. DH gives him ebm from bottles and it hasn't given us a problem with breast latch thank goodness. He seems to be a pretty relaxed baby. No routines as yet, not sure when to start with that. Just getting him off to sleep now; he lives to be nosey in the middle of the night!

Mogz · 20/01/2014 06:31

Hi Sangelina welcome Smile

mumofthreeboysS · 20/01/2014 07:49

Welcome sangelina!

My god I've had the worst feed ever. At 3.30am got up to feed him and the pain was excruciating. I'm talking off the scale searing pain which left me sobbing. I don't know if it's thrush but I'm phoning the doc this morning. One side of my boob is really sore/tender too. God I have to feed him from it this morning but can't face it. I'm doing the other side and may try a nipple shield but the thought just makes me upset again. I'm so upset that this is happening after getting over the tongue tie and weeks of pain....

Stom91 · 20/01/2014 09:33

Hahha mogz I should really proof read !! Lol.
Well taking dd to the dr today a she's still constipated and seems in pain when going. Tried everything to no avail :(

hotcrossbun83 · 20/01/2014 10:49

mum stay strong if you can, I have met someone who has just been through Tt and thrush as well (they seems to go hand in hand) and she described it as the hardest thing she's ever been through, which put it in perspective for me. It is sooo hard, you're in extreme pain and that tied up with the emotional aspect makes it overwhelming.

Ds is almost six weeks and I think we've had a sleep breakthrough! Colic seems better although still has flare ups, and he settles much more quickly after night feeds. Most importantly he will be out down into pram bassinet and so me and dh are back in bed together without ds, that hasn't happened much recently! Typical that I bought a beautiful co sleeper and he hates it just wants to sleep in pram, we've been at my mums so using pram and he has settled much better. Going home now and going to remove the co sleeper for a bit and just have bassinet on the floor. Maybe when he's a bit bigger he can go back in the co sleeper...

mumofthreeboysS · 20/01/2014 11:08

Thanks mogz doc has actually diagnosed mastitis. I have a hot red patch on the painful boob. She said the sore nips are more likely dur to bad latch. So have anti biotics now- fingers crossed they start working ASAP. In the meantime the nipple shield is my friend/saviour.

froubylou · 20/01/2014 12:32

Mum have you got anyone to check your latch for you? I don't think I believe anyone when they say it doesn't hurt if you have the latch right. Certainly for the first few weeks. Seb is just over five weeks and I would say it hasn't hurt for the last 10 days bar the odd sore day after a massive session.

Just had new nursing bra delivered. Omg it's so comfortable compared to the ones I have. Going to order another one identical. Its a Royce one from the nursing bra shop I think its called.

Million and one things to do and seb being a cling on. Sigh. But he is just having a big poo so he hopefully might settle.

The farts this baby can do would put grown men to shame!

Mogz · 20/01/2014 15:19

Frouby Seb should challenge Genevieve to a wind off! She's a pro!

MrsShrubs · 20/01/2014 17:00

mogz are you sure? That's so kind of you!

MrsShrubs · 20/01/2014 17:06

Welcome sangelina !!

James for 2 nights running has slept the whole night through so I feel awful complaining about how clingy he is in the day when he's a champ at night at the moment!

Dusty04 · 20/01/2014 18:52

hotcross how did you solve the colic issue? Ds is colicky on an evening and won't sleep in either Moses basket or pram and we're struggling!

Mogz · 20/01/2014 19:35

Of course MrsS, drop me your address and I'll get DH to post it when he goes to work on Wednesday. I really hope it helps you out Smile
