Hello ladies,

Thought I would start you off. We can just keep this a stats thread until we all deliver and then move across if you like.

Humpty - I think I'm on edge of getting pnd. I'm starting to feel how I did when I had it with ds1. So solidarity here!

FelixFelix · 08/04/2014 14:31

Angel hope you can keep the germs at bay!

Nature hope you're feeling better soon.

Million enjoy your day out Smile

Humpty glad you've seen the GP. My anxiety has come back with a vengeance over the past couple of weeks so I'm really trying to keeps an eye on it before it gets really bad. Weirdly, it totally disappeared when I was pregnant! Fist bumps all round.

MrsG hope the sleeping improves for you soon. Lots of Brew in the meantime!

enormouse · 08/04/2014 15:21

angel you and wee one should be ok, just ostracise him for a bit. I remember everyone in the family getting ill but Cal was unscathed. Even when he was getting cuddles from a snotty DS1.

pidgy toby posted something a while back about the amount of alcohol that gets into breastmilk when I was fretting about having had some whisky. It's a very very tiny amount.

Speaking of toby, has anyone seen her netmums thread?

Solidarity all round Smile Brew. Today was a really bad day but today is much better. I bought a load of Next gros for Cal off ebay and they look lovely on him. He's firmly.into 0-3 and some 3-6 and I'll have to pack the newborn stuff up at the weekend.

enormouse · 08/04/2014 15:22

*yesterday was horrible I mean. Smile

AMillionNameChangesLater · 08/04/2014 15:42

Toby's netmum thread? I'm not on netmums. Can you link?

enormouse · 08/04/2014 16:30

It's on here. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/2048523-Ive-just-had-some-terrible-advice-from-my-HV?

Toby' s tale of being mistaken for an NMer.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 08/04/2014 17:12

Just read it and chuckled. But, three month check? Anyone had theirs? No one has said anything to me

TobyLerone · 08/04/2014 18:27

Ha! Am I on NM indeed!

FelixFelix · 08/04/2014 18:48

We had a 3 month check. HV turned up when I was sat in my pyjamas as I forgot she was coming Blush are you sure something hasn't been booked and you've forgotten about it? The date was in my red book Grin don't see her again until the end of august now.

TarkaTheOtter · 08/04/2014 19:01

We didn't have one. I just went to the baby clinic to get Alex weighed but only because I wanted to know - no one ever mentioned an official thing.

Angelesque · 08/04/2014 19:16

Thanks for advice everyone - F and I went to Sains and bought a haul of Dettol products and bleach. DH has been instructed to clean main bathroom as soon as he's well enough which had better be soon - in the meantime F and I are using the little one. We're both okay so far... Fingers crossed...

Right, once I get F down it's time for a little glass of wine and Friends I think. Finding DH being ill really stressful.

HV did final visit today - F is 13lb 5 at eight weeks! Chunky monkey!!!

Naturegirl82 · 08/04/2014 20:27

Urgh, still feel rubbish. O decided sleep was for wimps today so wasn't able to have a nap. O is going through the next wonder weeks leap which is perfect timing not so is mega crying today as well. Dh was lovely when he came home though and took O so I could have a nap but sods law I couldn't sleep. Now the pooch has started throwing up as I think she ate something funny in the park! Just what we needed! Sad

Angelesque · 08/04/2014 20:48

Oh God Nature, hope O goes down soon and the dog has finished with the puking! Fx you get a decent kip tonight...

Pidgy · 08/04/2014 20:53

Seems to be a lot of vomit!!
What did the dog eat?!
Ugh, a few months back my friends dog ate the contents of her daughter's potty. It happened so fast neither of us could stop him! I secretly found it quite funny as her DD was hysterical as she didn't get to see her poo get flushed! I'm really not a dog person and especially not now!

Had a chuckle at you thread Toby. Can't say I've used NM but it does sometimes come up in searches. Too many 'Huns' for me. HATE it if someone says that to me, or 'babe'! Ggrrrrrr!

Naturegirl82 · 08/04/2014 21:04

I don't know what she ate that's the annoying thing. But she generally doesn't eat stuff just chews it and spits it out. She is now sat on the sofa feeling sorry for herself!

Hope your dh is feeling better angel

Toby your thread made me laugh.

The hv has never looked at O. Just sat in the same room as her. Is that normal?

Angelesque · 08/04/2014 21:26

Nature what do you mean by never looked at? Mine talked to F whenever she came over, especially if he was crying at all. My HV has a baby of her own so don't know if that makes a difference? :S

Naturegirl82 · 08/04/2014 21:30

As in has never been within 3 metres of her. Didn't know if they were meant to look at them in anyway. The hv at the breastfeeding group has spent more time looking at her than my hv has. Not that I'm bothered. O is seeing so many drs anyway.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 08/04/2014 21:39

I don't have an appointment booked, not that I could see. But i also don't have anything in my book saying he should have a 3 month check

MrsVDB · 08/04/2014 21:50

million I don't have a 3 month check as far as I'm aware

Naturegirl82 · 08/04/2014 22:05

I opted to have my 3 month app at the clinic so they will send out an appointment closer to the time so maybe this is the same for you guys?

AMillionNameChangesLater · 08/04/2014 22:06

Oh good, I'm not alone with not having one. I saw from the red book I was supposed to have a 8 week check with the hv but that hasn't happened, poss because I've gone to clinic, but who knows.

Angelesque · 08/04/2014 22:11

Nature in my (v limited, first baby, only got three visits) experience, that seems a bit odd and a bit of a shame, but nothing to worry about. Think you're not a million miles away from me (I'm south side of Central Manc - are you Warrington way?) so not same NHS area but neighbouring.

My HV didn't do anything vital that required close contact/interaction with F, but she seemed to have a natural maternal way with her that was reassuring.

Spged · 08/04/2014 22:41

Just trying to catch up on messages and memory is next to useless at the moment so can't remember much.

Nature your sleep pattern sounds very familiar. I can't get C to settle early in the evening but this morning she slept till after 11 (after feeds at 5 and 8 am). Would probably prefer it if she went down earlier but at least we're getting some sleep. We are still cluster feeding in the evening and her new thing this week is shouting when she's not happy. Especially the word Gu which seems to mean "are you &@€%ing kidding me?! Don't leave me in my cot! I will not sleep!" Followed by extensive eye rubbing and yawning. Am hoping it's all part of a growth/development stage as she seems to have changed a lot in the last week and is much more interested in toys. Also she now gets bored-cue more angry shouting. When she was born C screamed a lot in the hospital and so we called her the angry elf and I think that actually it has proven a pretty appropriate nickname!

Can't remember who said it, but sleep is our new obsession too. If I can put C down in her cot at the first eye rub then she sometimes naps but otherwise no chance. Any nap advice would be most welcome as we keep having to resort to long walks in the pram as she won't nap at home. At least the dog is happy!

We haven't had a three month check either. Hope there isn't an impending visit.

Had a bit of a barny with oh yesterday although it was pretty uneffectual arguing as couldn't really make my point well. He keeps organising golf matches and defending them by saying he's only played x times in the last y months.... I get all irritated and say that I can't just swan off and do the things I would like to do, and so I would like him to be here with us or organising something for the three of us to do. His retaliation is that I should express milk and go and do whatever I want to do, but he knows that I won't. C has never had a bottle and I don't want to risk her going off bf or risk my supply going wonky so I'm not going leave her. Sigh. He later apologised and we agreed he would try to do more with C.

Right, enough moaning. Am off to read Toby's NM post :-)

Spged · 08/04/2014 22:43

Just wondering, does this group have a Facebook group? Generally It's easier to Facebook with my phone

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 09/04/2014 06:29

million and felix sorry to hear you both feel rubbish. It's pants, eh?

angel fx that you and F stay healthy.

nature ugh! You poor thing. Hope today is better.

enormouse A is only still in 0-3 of Boots and Gap stuff, which seems to come up longer. Otherwise it's all 3-6 except crappy Mamas and Papas stuff which is teeny and just makes me hate them more.

3 month check: my HV called yesterday to suggest coming on Friday. When I said I had plans that day and would need more notice of spots, she was a bit Shock. Surely by 3 months they expect you to be up and out and doing stuff?

Off to my mums overnight with A, wish me luck for the drive (first longish solo trip)!
