Ooh you cant beat a nice bit of ironing.

Thanks for goddess chat. Am currently rocking a slob-ess look in PJs nomming a lindt reindeer.

Passmethecrisps · 30/12/2013 19:28

Thanks for the tips vq! I shall keep those in mind. Seeing p with her wee chums was adorable and well worth any screaming and racket. She was only in for a few minutes really but it made her very, very happy.

It also opened my eyes to the weirdness of meeting random children who chat away to you with great intimacy!

Fuck the ironing stunt! Spread yourself on the sofa and do nothing.

Will update when I get a mo. Have nipped out for a fag. Voices are raised in the house.

PetiteRaleuse · 30/12/2013 20:07

New Year Resolution: will stop the fags. Have gone up to 5 a day in the last few days.

BigPigLittlePig · 30/12/2013 20:13

Emergency fags, there's a rule or something, makes it ok if iqt staves off world war 3.

StuntNun · 30/12/2013 20:13

Not surprising PR if only to get you out of the house.

Changing the subject somewhat.

I am hoping to sort and get rid of almost all of p's old clothes in the next week because a pal is giving us bag loads of more as her room is a tip and the attic is very full. How do you decide what to keep for sentimental value and or next baby and what to get rid of? And where did you get rid of things to? I am not sentimental at all usually but I got myself a bit twisted in knots over certain items.

PetiteRaleuse · 30/12/2013 20:29

Tried to ebay some. Failed. Took everything to red cross. But only because I know am not having anymore.

ValiumQueen · 30/12/2013 20:37

Pass, the bits that you feel a bit emotional about are the ones to keep. Anything else, pop on local FB page - I can link you to two good ones. Even if you only get a few quid, it will help towards the huge expense that is parenthood, and someone will get a bargain.

ValiumQueen · 30/12/2013 20:39

The bits you keep you could use for the next one, if one ever appears, or get made into a memory bear or quilt.

I find it hard to part with anything. Even odd socks.

Kyz · 30/12/2013 20:43

Evening! I have made it online for the second day in a row, woohoo! E hasn't seemed quite as snotty today, and has cut a back tooth that I only just noticed there's another 1 so close to being through and another 3 really swollen. Poor soul. His eating really has gone to pot :(

Anyway...

Glad you all liked last nights epic post :) It was a good long one!

Have you sorted out the second date thing chasing?

Argh vq your dh does need a good slap sometimes I think!

what humidifier do people use? Are there any particularly good ones or are they all about the same?

Sorry to hear of horrible nights, I didn't come on but was up a fair bit too sadly!

Weather has been awful here too bplp, really going for it with the wind and the rain.

Glad you've got a second appt zamboni it's awful you were made to feel that way and hopefully your concerns will be addressed when you see the other gp

sophia you sound like such a fab in control type person, always cooking lovely food and getting things done or having fun with the boys :)

Not had anything like that jj :/

E is quite tired since walking everywhere Lily He sleeps 3 hours in the day and 12-13 at night.

Aww pass that sounds really lovely! E loves other children. He sees Ely regularly and hugs her all the time, but any children he will squeal at and go up to, it's quite sweet! He's very much not like me, as I am really not very good at socialising. I am trying to encourage him to be sociable obviously!

hope lo is better soon pr, sounds like you need a bit lots of cake and calming thoughts!

see i'm a terrible ladyperson stunt, ironing is the furthest thing from my mind when I have a sniff of freedom! I think I need some ladyperson lessons! When are you expecting them back?

No help pass I have saved everything so far, I am rubbish!

YellowWellies · 30/12/2013 20:43

PR my love if I had your in laws I'd be on a pack a day! I think you are coping admirably. We're staying with the ILs this week and other than assuming that all of J's dinner should be mashed they've not made any suggestions. And MIL baked some dairy free mince pies am Shock and Smile . Jonas has happily been trashing their house yet they still think the sun shines out of his wee behind!

PurplePidjin · 30/12/2013 20:47

Vvvdp isn't vvvdp any more...

YellowWellies · 30/12/2013 20:49

Pass you could get some of her baby clothes made into a soft toy but given the biggest expense of patch working is the material I think at £50+ they are very cheekily priced! can take the girl out of Yorkshire etc I'm keeping all of J's stuff (other than clothes trashed during weaning) for when we hopefully have no.2.

YellowWellies · 30/12/2013 20:49

Oh no Pidj cross post Sad

Passmethecrisps · 30/12/2013 20:55

Thanks vq. It was a wee poppy coat that got me a bit misty eyed. I was thinking about donating to Good Green Fun for the most part. We have some unused stuff still in bags - might Facebook sell those.

I have never smoked but I would take it up if I had pr's inlaws here.

We are only just recovering from our visit. Sounds like you are having a fab time yw! Dairy free mince pies?! Nice one

BigPigLittlePig · 30/12/2013 20:55
Brew

Tell us all about it pidj xx

Passmethecrisps · 30/12/2013 20:56

Sad and Shock pp!

Please say nothing too serious. Just dropped a V somewhere along the line. . .

ValiumQueen · 30/12/2013 20:56

Do spill PP.

YW I rarely disagree with you, but I do in this instance. A patchwork memory thing takes quite a lot of time, and it is the time that costs the money. Each piece needs to be backed as baby clothes are usually stretchy material so not conducive to patchworking, and there is quite a bit of jiggling to make the best of the fabrics, patterns etc, and working out what bit of clothing can do for which bit of animal. It would take a day I reckon to make one.

PurplePidjin · 30/12/2013 20:58

I think vvvdf has a nice ring to it Xmas Wink

ValiumQueen · 30/12/2013 21:00

I need sleep. Hope you are ok PP x

Passmethecrisps · 30/12/2013 21:00

And I know what you mean kyz! sophia sounds like a proper akshal grown up. As opposed to me who is faking it.

And I am like you and very shy - despite what people say! I am good at pretending otherwise but social interactions can leave me a bit breathless. I love seeing p so comfortable in her own skin. I know she is only tiny and there is time for all these anxieties to build but right now I am revelling in her knowledge that she is invincible

ValiumQueen · 30/12/2013 21:01

PP a proposal? You tease! congratulations WineThanks

YellowWellies · 30/12/2013 21:01

VQ my sis is a keen quilter and reckoned she could do two a day but she'd not be patch working by hand. I suppose (like many crafts) considering the time it's not a huge expense but for a toy it's eye watering or you'd not have to let the LOs near it until they've almost outgrown it! or is that just the bear??? Grin
