Same here. We turned DD'S cot into a bed between 18 months and 2, at the point where she could undo her sleeping bag. Really so she wouldn't fall from such a height if she escaped. We used a duvet from that point.

A is still in a cot, although we're using a duvet because he hates being restricted by a sleeping bag. He'd climb out in seconds, but for now his legs are too short! I'll turn it into a bed as soon as he's big enough to climb over the side.

DD was fine with the change from day 1. But we do have a stairgate across the doorway.....

SpottyTeacakes · 17/01/2014 14:32

Dd's cot went into a bed too. She was fine to start with but once she figured out she could get out.... I think it doesn't matter what age you do it it just depends on the child.

WLmum · 17/01/2014 19:52

I have had a boobilicious baby today! That and the cling leads me to believe that her Peggies are a bit sore. Poor lamb.
DH came home sporting a new tattoo yesterday - dd2 and I played tattoos today with her tattoo glitter pens (washes off skin with just water). It was quite fun! I've got a bumblebee, a ladybird and a crocodile, she's got a butterfly and a monkey that dd1 thought was a cat. Guess that's not a career change coming up for me then!

SpottyTeacakes · 17/01/2014 19:55

Ooo they sound fun WL I think dd would like those!

MrsNutella · 17/01/2014 20:39

Where did my post go Sad Stupid phone!

WLmum · 17/01/2014 22:30

spotty they are nicer than they sound - a friend had them for her daughters bday party late last year - drawing fairies etc on hands and forearms instead of face painting which my dds thought was fab so Santa stepped in. It also stops them drawing on themselves with ordinary pens which take days to get off.

Barbeasty · 18/01/2014 07:46

That last comment makes me think we need some of those! But my tip for getting felt tip or biro off a child is to go swimming.

I got home from work a bit late yesterday (I got on the train in Birmingham at the time I'd usually be home) and had a lovely welcome. DD was on the doorstep to greet me, and A got cross when I took 30 seconds to take me coat off!

Then DD told me that DH had changed A's nappy "and he did really well, and didn't need any help or anything".

Shame it leaked wee though....

utopian99 · 18/01/2014 08:07

It's been a week since O's last feed and my right boob feels bruised. Help! Though they would be going down by now..

SpottyTeacakes · 18/01/2014 08:14

Have you got a lump utopian? Is it red or hot?

FriendofDorothy · 18/01/2014 08:55

I switched The Little Mister to cows milk in the morning about 10 days ago and his nappies are absolutely horrific. His poo has the most peculiar texture to it now! He also has a really sore bum because he is pooing much more.

Is this normal and just the body getting used to the cows milk?

utopian99 · 18/01/2014 09:41

Hi spotty, a more solid area maybe but not red or hot no..

SpottyTeacakes · 18/01/2014 09:46

Sounds like you might have a blockage? If it's still there Monday I would see a dr as it'll quickly develop into mastitis. I'm not sure how to clear it if you've stopped feeding but I'm sure if you search on here there'll be some good advice?

Fod not in my experience. My little sister couldn't drink full fat milk as it made her ill so had to go straight to semi skimmed. Could be that?

MrsNutella · 18/01/2014 10:10

Ok, I'll try again. Smile
WL your DD's thank you card reminded me of an oooooold story. A friend at school wanted to say "I have shiny tights" but instead came out with "I have tiny shites" it still makes me laugh.
Like the sound of tattoo pens too. Sounds like something my niece would love -makes mental note for birthday present.

utopian you could try a warm or cold compress on it but otherwise I'd be off to the dr ASAP on Monday.

Tiny has not adjusted well to the time change... He slept well on the flight home and in the train but at then at night his sleep is a little disturbed and last night he was awake for about two hours. DH and I are hoping it will sort itself out and he will sleep how he was before we went away but at the moment we are all shattered!
But then it could also be the molars that I can feel coming at the back of his mouth or it could be walking.... Who knows!

halestone · 18/01/2014 13:51

Loving the funny stories.Grin

Utopian i also 2nd getting your breast checked out. Also could you look on the Kellymom website, i think thats the one with loads of BF advice.

FoD could you swop to semi skimmed or soy milk for a few days and see how the little mister is then?

My sister announced shes moving back here for a year last night, so it looks like shes moving in with my dad and me and DP are moving into a house together. Not sure how i feel yet.

I've had two glasses of wine and feel a bit tipsy Blush

Nutella I can imagine it's a bit of a nightmare but I'm sure it'll settle down not sure what to suggest, if mamapo is about she might have some tips.

Hales if you still feel it's too soon to move in together don't do it. What is it about it that makes you unsure?

MrsNutella · 18/01/2014 20:27

spotty I've got a feeling (and I'm hoping) it might be the walking... The cheeky monkey took three little steps to reach the coffee table (so he could bash it with a hammer) and another couple of steps to hang off of the oven in the kitchen. DH managed to miss both! Even though he was standing by the oven!
I am very excited about those little steps though Smile

hales Where has your sister been? - sorry if that's too nosey.

Better go. Tiny is awake Sad

WillYouDoTheFandango · 18/01/2014 21:08

Evening all, MiL is pushing my buttons today. She keeps feeding DS food out of her mouth. As in she'll have a spoonful of soup, suck the broth off and then take it out of her mouth and give him the veg. Even DP told her to stop it. It's disgusting.

She also picked up DS took him to he other side of the restaurant and put him on the floor next to some people we don't know and let him play on the stairs to kitchen Hmm We told her and told her to bring him back, she only did when the waitress said we'll be carrying food through there and I smashed a glass earlier. She was pissed and is a knob Angry

MrsNutella · 18/01/2014 21:29

willyou that is gross! Perhaps you should invite her over for a serious chat with a cup of coffee and pre-chewed slice of cake or biscuits? I might bite something in half for DS (usually something I'm eating that he has decided he would like) but taking food out of your mouth is just weird. Was she the one giving him popcorn at Christmas?

Well DS is up enjoying himself. Have posted a vid on Facebook. He does a little dance to various tunes, it's usually shaking his booty. Tonight he started shaking his leg which just crack me up!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 18/01/2014 21:31

Yes she does it because she knows DP and I don't like it.

I've seen your video Nutella, he's so cute Smile

halestone · 18/01/2014 22:59

Spotty, i suppose i kind of scared that something will go wrong. I'm hoping it won't we've coped together so far and i do love him to bits, but if it goes wrong i'll be left with a house to run alone. The thought scares me.

Nutella my sister and her husband where in the RAF. Sister is out now but BiL is still in. They live in Norwich at the moment, but BiL has a posting to Afghanistan in June so will be gone either 4 or 6 months. Until June though he has a lot of courses to go on. So my sister has decided to come home and get a job by her family so we can help with childcare.

Willyou i agree with Nutella, invite her round offer her some food and when she says yes, chew it up, take it out your mouth and give it her. Also if you could film her reaction i think you should post it to the fb group haha.

Spotty, i hope your still enjoying your wineWine

Nutella, he looks dead cute on that video Grin

Ok, I've had enough. Where do I sell this baby? He doesn't like cuddles and will claw at your face if you try to cuddle him to sleep. Oh and he doesn't sleep either. Confused

WLmum · 18/01/2014 23:26

Loving your work ladies! It's one thing for mummies to share food but totally another for someone else. My mil has done a bit of that and I've forced myself to ignore it like do many other things she does
hales maybe dp will become more of an equal partner if he sees more of what you do?
nutella cute little groover!

SpottyTeacakes · 19/01/2014 05:51

I was in bed by nine Blush good job too as dd woke up at five and woke everyone up AngryAngry so cross with her.

WillYou that's disgusting.

Nutella I hope you're getting some sleep.

I've left dp in bed with the hope of an afternoon nap later Wink

halestone · 19/01/2014 14:57

Nutella, i hope you managed to get some sleep and that your ok now. Thanks

Spotty, haha a few glasses of wine and in bed for 9 you sound just like me haha. I hope you get an afternoon nap.

WL i hope so although today he sent me to bed for a few hours as i slept on the couch last night. I'm full of cold and was scared of waking everyone while i was coughing so came downstairs.
