Raaaaaaaaaaaaaah why are they always at their most impish when you feel rough?!

Hi Ivana

Zebra also a hit here and i haven't even put batteries in yet Blush

Ride a cock zebra across the Transvaal
To see a fine warrior upon a fine zebra
With rings on his fingers and feathers in his hair
He shall ride zebras wherever he goes

Well, it amuses us Hmm

WLmum · 15/01/2014 20:14

Hello ivana!
beasty T is getting very good at self access! She's started to want to feed more during the day lately but I think it's just a bit of comfort as there's teeth a poppin in there. I could live without the biting though.

ddas · 15/01/2014 20:37

We've been very lucky with biting as apart from a small nip when she got her first tooth nothing since. That said she only has 2 teeth! It may change now the top 2 have just popped through with the 2 next to them close behind.

ddas · 15/01/2014 20:41

beasty owww poor bloke- straight tcp on a small cut stings, can't imagine how it would have felt on an infected tongue. But then again I'm a big wuss

WLmum · 15/01/2014 22:32

I haven't had any major bites but the nibbles are bad enough!

halestone · 16/01/2014 01:00

Whenever i tell H no, she laughs in my face Hmm I told her off yesterday for biting DN she literally looked at me smiled and laughed. She bit DN today DP told her off and she cried. Then shes bit me at bed time tonight and last night and laughed again when i've told her off.

Don't take it personally hales she probably thinks it's a fun game. I expect you play with her more than anyone else so that's what she thinks you're doing. Try not reacting and walking away for a minute?

Barbeasty · 16/01/2014 07:43

I was told that if they bite put them down on the floor for a few minutes and ignore them.

This worked well for DD, but A uses a bite as a way of saying he wants to be let down to play!

halestone · 16/01/2014 08:10

Beasty Thats what i use to do and it worked in a week but now if i try that she gets up and walks to her toys. Damn this being able to walk malarky haha. Spotty i hadn't thought of it that way, its a good explanation. She always seems more bitey when she gets a tooth through. Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

Try walking away from her instead, before she walks away from you? It's hard at this age but try not to worry that what you do now will effect them later. Dd was an angel toddler and is now a monster Grin

MrsNutella · 16/01/2014 08:51

Hello everyone!

I've tried to keep up, but have definitely missed loads.

Hales DS is the same. When I say "Ow!" He usually replied "ooohhh" to sort of copy the noise. But it doesn't stop him from biting my toes, leg, face. He laughs too. giggles like a maniacal maniac more like he also thinks grabbing at your nose/cheeks/eyes with his razor sharp claws is hilarious. I am trying to teach him "no stop" and put him down on the floor. If anyone has any tips to help with that I'd appreciate it!

Barbeasty · 16/01/2014 09:12

A's added pulling DD's hair as a way of getting things from her usually something she's taken from him first

The clawing is a sign of affection, obviously. And the more dribble there is on the hand, the more affection is being shown

Yes, biting is worse when new teeth arrive. I think it changes their latch etc as new teeth come and they have to get used to it.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/01/2014 11:09

I just had a blood test and dd was holding the cotton wool. The nurse said to her 'you could be a nurse when you grow up!' To which dd replied, 'no, I'm going to be Cinderella' HmmGrin

utopian99 · 16/01/2014 11:43

Apparently on my first day at school when I was little spotty, I was the last name called so the teacher said to me "ah, and you must be utopian", and I replied "no, actually I'm banana man." Blush

SpottyTeacakes · 16/01/2014 11:56

GrinGrin That's so funny!!

Dd's just walked into the stair gate and is now sporting a bruised eye (currently red but I suspect it'll go black!)

WLmum · 16/01/2014 14:12

Love it spotty and utopian! One of my childhood besties lived in acacia drive!

Biting def worse when new teeth are appearing, T only does it really when she's had enough milk and is messing about. She's cutting two new teeth at the mo so they rub more on my nips so feeding can be little sore.

MrsNutella · 16/01/2014 14:32

Ha ha spotty Cinderella. How cute. And utopian I'd love to know why Banana man?! Grin

Yes, new teeth definitely make biting worse. DS managed to sprout four new teeth at the front between Christmas and now. I think he also has molars coming /through one or two on each side. The left ones were very close to breaking through when I checked a few days ago. Made sleeping next to a wriggly baby that bit more fun.... I think he likes the space of his cot and the security of the bars to roll into. He moves around a lot at nigh.

WLmum · 16/01/2014 20:43

Dd1 was writing Xmas thank you letters after school...'thank you for the tits'!! That would be tights!

SpottyTeacakes · 17/01/2014 02:03

Can't sleep Angry

utopian99 · 17/01/2014 06:45

wl that post has made my morning!

SpottyTeacakes · 17/01/2014 06:47

Did you leave it or show her how to correct it?!

utopian99 · 17/01/2014 07:28

Just wondering when you drop one side of the cot? We have a stokke and they say 18 months "once they reachthe curious climing stage", but O is definitely at that stage already!
And in that case when do you switch to duvet rather than sleeping bag?

SpottyTeacakes · 17/01/2014 07:39

We didn't drop a side of the cot. Dd just went into cot bed at two. It's not fun Wink

utopian99 · 17/01/2014 07:59

Why? I'm hoping to avoid bed transfer issues because O's one turns into a bed so stays familiar..

WLmum · 17/01/2014 10:02

DH showed her the correct spelling, I was too busy giggling into a cupboard!
We didn't drop the cot side either, just went into a toddler bed at about 2 - had a rail for a bit but no issues at all. Dd2 went quickly from the toddler bed to the bottom bunk. Lots of praise for being a big girl so you can sleep in a big bed like mummy/daddy/dd1 etc.
