Love the photo.

It was A waking up last night, but a quick feed and he went back in his cot. He stayed there until 1.30 and then we had a slightly less unsettled night, so fx he's getting over whatever it is.

SpottyTeacakes · 09/01/2014 07:27

Ds has just stolen dd's hot chocolate Hmm

Equimum · 09/01/2014 07:36

Glad J liked nursery and that Spotty's DD got on well at the hospital. Good to hear that A looks to have turned a corner Beasty.

Isn't that moment of feeling someone may actually learn an important lesson satisfying, WL. Congrats on being an auntie, BTW.

DS had his jabs yesterday and so far, you wouldn't know he had, and (apologese if this causes offence) slept through last night Grin.

Barbeasty · 09/01/2014 09:16

The jabs made A sleepy for ages, just not at night!

We've banned hot chocolate if A is in the room. He grabbed DD's on Sunday and it went everywhere. He likes to grab the rim of a cup/ glass and tip it over....

SpottyTeacakes · 09/01/2014 09:34

Dd had hers in a lidded cup luckily!

The whole contents of my sitting room (minus two sofa cushions) is now in my kitchen and I decided to make a shepherds pie Hmm

FriendofDorothy · 09/01/2014 09:51

I put a little cup in the microwave and when I got it out the lid blew off covering me in warm cows milk. Lovely!

SpottyTeacakes · 09/01/2014 09:52

Oh yes always leave the lid off and make sure the spout is open when you put it back on!

WLmum · 09/01/2014 09:52

Sorry for the double post! It got stuck on my phone last night and seems to have posted again this morning.
Hope some sleep was had. After a settle at 5.15 T slept til 7.15. That's almost 12 hours!!! The latest sleep ever! Hope her jabs today don't derail it!

WLmum · 09/01/2014 09:56

Oh equi hope we have the same!

Ah yes, my big 2 have their nightly hot chocs in sippy style cups since T got so mobile/grabby/strong!

FriendofDorothy · 09/01/2014 13:55

What would you do? My aunt is looking after my one-year old son today and she has just phoned to say that they have found him with an ornament from India in his mouth and the paint has come off. They have wiped around and in his mouth but don't think he has ingested anything.

Would you do anything or just keep an eye on him to see whether he has any side effects?

SpottyTeacakes · 09/01/2014 14:07

I would just keep an eye. Sure he'll be fine Smile

FriendofDorothy · 09/01/2014 14:21

It's horrible. Since Mum died I am finding that I am completely over-reacting to stuff that I wouldn't have given two thoughts to before! :(

halestone · 09/01/2014 14:41

FoD i would just watch him as well. Also i think its completely understandable that you think your overreacting to things since your mums death. (BTW i don't think you have over reacted i would of asked on here as well). Please take care of yourself not only have you lost your mum your pregnant as well, so your emotions are bound to be all over the place.ThanksThanksThanks

Spotty, i'm glad the hospital went well.

Willyou i'm glad J's day in nursery went well.

Beasty, i hope your sleep was better last night.

WL and Equi yay to a good sleep last night. H also slept well.

I have started weaning from formula onto whole milk today so hope that won't affect tonight. FX

SpottyTeacakes · 09/01/2014 15:39

I totally agree with hales fod. Stop being so hard on yourself Smile

WLmum · 09/01/2014 18:51

fod I would just keep an eye on him as it's most unlikely that there will be any effects. However, if that happened to my pfb I would have freaked out and been very cross about their irresponsibility etc. my poor dm and mil must have lived in fear! You could always phone NHS direct for reassurance. I don't think you're overreacting at all, and I can't imagine how you're feeling without your mum Flowers

Barbeasty · 09/01/2014 19:22

Arggh. The down side of having them sharing a room- we get A settled, then DD starts shouting downstairs that her ear hurts and she wants medicine.

So now A is crying in his cot and really chewing his hands. DH is off to dose them both with calpol!

And the climbing has progressed- he started to climb the chest of drawers in their bedroom tonight! As the bad mummy I am, I had to stifle a giggle when he trapped his toes in the drawer. But he was clinging to the top drawer and clinging on, giggling.

FoD I know the feeling. Something that before you wouldn't have considered asking about, now that you can't you suddenly feel the need to.

Maryland2013 · 09/01/2014 19:41

Oh FoD I would have asked about this too. It's not over reacting at all..

Reading Beastys post I wondered if people have their nursery/ bedroom furniture attached to the wall with those things I can't name but stop you pulling the furniture on top?

Good to hear about improved sleep! I'm hoping next jabs won't be unsettling -- and I will be

Maryland2013 · 09/01/2014 19:43

I will be sending DS for his with his dad ;)

I'm glad to hear other mums send out thank you cards. I know it's probably old fashioned but I always made DSD send them- she was outraged cos her mum never asked her to do it..!!

SpottyTeacakes · 09/01/2014 19:57

I don't screw anything to the wall.

Dd got weighed at hospital yesterday. She's 3.7 and weighs 28lb!

Ds had a horrendous tantrum/meltdown after dinner. He had a whole bowl of shepherds pie with red cabbage and parsnip plus a yoghurt. Took us a while to realise he was still hungry Hmm

Our carpet is down and he loves it! Both dc went to bed together tonight for the first time ever! Dd usually stays up until seven but she said she wanted to go to bed when we took ds up. Haven't heard a peep she must have been really tired.

Finally got a letter from the HV team. 'Ds is due his 10/12 month check please phone to arrange' Hmm he's almost 14 months!

WLmum · 09/01/2014 20:39

28lbs!! Bless her little cottons - she must be just like my friends little un. T is probably not far off 28lbs already!
What a great tea - can I come over? Dd1&2 would never eat red cabbage.
Poor little T seems to be suffering after her jabs. I do feel sorry for her.
maryland I'm all about the thank you letters! If someone is kind and generous enough to give a gift, I think it's the least you can do to send a note. I always do photos as some people that send gifts we don't see from year to year so I think its nice for them to see who they're buying for!

WLmum · 09/01/2014 22:47

beasty that is some climbing!
We do have some of the taller stuff attached to the walls.

halestone · 10/01/2014 00:49

Arghhhhhhhhhh!!!! No sleep since her 3pm nap today and shes being a terror! DP has took her downstairs. I genuinely do not know what to do with her one day she sleeps great then for ages shes a nightmare.

SpottyTeacakes · 10/01/2014 06:28

You're welcome anytime WL. Dd wouldn't touch any of it even though I told her it was purple cabbage as that's her favourite colour Grin

Hales I hope you got some sleep I really don't know what to suggest.

Equimum · 10/01/2014 10:01

Oh Hales ((((unmumsnetty hug)))). how frustrating. when did she eventually settle?

I hope LO was okay yesterday FoD, and like everyone else, I don't you were over-reacting; these things are scary.

I hope T is feeling better today WL. Horrid jabs Sad. I'm just hoping the lack of immediate reaction here isn't followed by a massive one when the live jab kicks in.

Spotty are you out to make me Envy this week? A holiday and a carpet? We have grotty laminate downstairs and even grottier carpet upstairs, 'donated' by the previous owners.

Had planned to go to a toddler group this morning, but having to defrost the car this morning made us ten minutes to the horse, so we weren't back in time. Really wish we could rehome DHorse now, but nobody can take him on Sad.

2blessed · 10/01/2014 13:16

FoD there is no way you are overreacting. Hope everything ok today Grin

My gosh its jabs time again. Hope LO's coped well.

I'm also a bit Envy at your holiday Spotty. No idea when we'll be able to go away.

I'm also a big believer in thank you notes. I only have one other friend who does them.

I've been awol for awhile and probably will be again quite soon. We were all ill over Christmas/New Year then we went straight into preparing for DS' birthday and party which was last weekend. We had a house party! I cannot tell you how many people attended. It was tiring but good fun.
This week has been crazy. Back to work and received some really bad news about a very very close family member that has completely rocked my world. Constantly bursting into tears at the moment.
Aside from that, my baby does not sleep! His sleeping pattern is like the newborn baby that he never was. He sleeps for maybe 2/3 hours and then is up screaming for me and/or boob. I don't think I can bring myself to do CC but need to try some strategies quick.

Hope all is well with everyone.
