Afternoon all. I got a bit caught up in the commitments of rl over Christmas and new year, so just checking back in with mn now. It was nice having DH home over the holidays, but it did cut into my normal mn time a bit ;)

Hope everyone had a good festive break, and exasperated all the awful flooding etc.

DS turned one, and to celebrate we've moved him up into new 9-12m clothes. We're having to turn them up a bit but he looks super cute. I can't believe he used to be one of the big babies, consistently 3 months ahead on clothes sizes. We've got him eating properly now (mostly) and putting on some weight so hopefully we'll get a nice growth spurt too. He's also got his first pair of real shoes, he's only size 3.5f, and Clarks only had one style of shoe in his size. Luckily they're cute though, so we're happy. Just need the rain to stop so I can take him out to the park.

SpottyTeacakes · 10/01/2014 15:00

Good news on the eating stacks Smile

Sorry to hear that 2blessed Thanks

If it makes you feel any better dp will be working every Saturday for the next six months to pay for it all Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 10/01/2014 16:37

Exactly two weeks after jabs ds has a fever. That's the most likely cause isn't it?

Stacks · 10/01/2014 17:25

Yeah, we were given a timeline for reactions. 6-10 days for measles (rash), 2-3 weeks for mumps (fever and swollen glands) and 12-14 days for rubella (possibly a slightly raised temp and a rash [perhaps up to 6 weeks later]).

SpottyTeacakes · 10/01/2014 17:41

Oh thanks for that stacks I had in my head 2+ weeks but didn't have that detail Smile

I get my ring back tomorrow!! Have to buy dd new shoes though as she's grown. Have already got slippers just need wellies, boots, trainers and ballet shoes Hmm

utopian99 · 10/01/2014 19:34

Hurrah for your ring spotty! And thanks for info too stacks, we have jabs in feb..

dh has accidentally put some rather dramatic classical music on O's cd player but I can't change it till he falls asleep. He doesn't seem that bothered though. Hmm

utopian99 · 10/01/2014 19:45

He has just fallen asleep to ride of the valkyries. I will never understand this baby.

PurplePidjin · 10/01/2014 20:06
Brew
WLmum · 10/01/2014 20:06

Haha utopian
2blessed hope he settles down soon
hales how are you and H today? I hope you all managed some rest.
Can't remember anything else that was said up thread!

Dd1 won a tesco colouring competition today - so cute, she was so proud. I'm totally proud as colouring/drawing has come late to her as she really struggled with pen control.

WLmum · 10/01/2014 22:33

Argh - have just completed my tax return. Bleurgh - why do they have to make it so complicated.

halestone · 10/01/2014 22:43

She finally went to sleep at half 1 this morning. The screaming from 10pm till 1:30am was rather upsetting for everyone though. Then she was up on and off till 6:30am whinging. 6:30 till 7 equalled screaming all over again and then she slept again till 11:30 but alot of whining throughout so me and DP didn't really settle much it must of been bad for him not to settle i suspect her bottom fangs are on the way up though. She seems to have a slight temperature and is very irritable again.

2blessed sorry to hear about your family member. We're here if you need usThanks

Stacks, i hope you had a lovely day for DS's birthday.

WL congratulations to your DDThanks

Spotty, i bet you can't wait to get your ring back.

My mum looked after H and my niece tonight whilst i was in work, and when i went to pick H up, she has a mark on her forehead where shes bumped it in my mums. My mum was trying to explain what had happened when i said to my DN awww did nanny hit H? And she replied yes, she punched her because nanny doesn't like H. Hahaha my poor mum was gobsmacked and saying she hadn't luckily i've seen DN make up a few stories so knew she was playing make believe haha.

He has only just woken up hales! This is unheard of. Maybe it would work on H? Hitherto undiscovered technique of baby lulling based on strident organ music. came in this morning to peer gynt, obviously that's pushing it

SpottyTeacakes · 11/01/2014 06:50

Ds woke at 6:20 but has since just been lying in bed with me sort of humming/moaning. Need to get some medicine into him!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 11/01/2014 08:57

Aw Hales I hope they pop through soon. Ooh your niece is a little monkey, they all go through that lying stage.

DS has had 2 dreadful nights and still no molars. They're as close to the skin as they can get without coming through. He just screamed on and off all night. We've been up since 6 and he's got a mild temperature. Not stopped him demolishing breakfast though. Hope he perks up, we have a play date at soft play.

halestone · 11/01/2014 09:21

Willyou i feel your pain, we've had an awful night again. H is so tired but fighting her sleep ....... And me. I hope DS's Molars pop through soon.

Utopian yay to a brilliant sleep.

Spotty i hope DS is ok.

Well hello again! I've only been missing for about 4 months! Been busy travelling with baby C, arriving back to Australia, and organising our flat/a job/unpacking/baby C's birthday/Christmas and New Year. No wonder I've missed a lot.

A quick skim of the last couple of pages shows that we're all still in the same boat. C is really lovely at the moment, I just adore this age. She is all grins (squinching up her whole face and showing off her teeth), zooming about crawling (no walking yet), and lots of interactive play.

Sleep has also finally sorted itself out - after feeding to sleep for night and naps while we were travelling, we tried CC again once jet lag had worn off and she started settling within the first day. I'm still bfing 1-2 times a day.

She starts nursery on Monday - I'm a little trepidatious! It's also going to be 38-41ºC for her first week, so that will be tricky.

It sounds as though some of you are expecting again? Congratulations! It's the first time I've started to feel a little pull in that direction since C was born (and just as my period returned too). Maybe we'll start trying again later this year...

Anyway - hello hello everyone! I hope you're all well!

SpottyTeacakes · 11/01/2014 12:27

Welcome back mama!

Think I might be sick....dd's new trainers were £40 Sad

Barbeasty · 11/01/2014 12:51

We stick to 1 pair of shoes/boots and a pair of wellies which seem to last a couple of sizes for that very reason!

We're having a rubbish day. DH went to ooh Dr this morning, because he bit his tongue earlier this week and it's infected! He's on 2 types of antibiotics and stinks of tcp.

DD has a temperature and isn't herself. She won't take medicine and just sat there at lunch so ate nothing. And A just whinged and whined all through lunch and refused to eat or drink anything.

At least I have a freezer full of Highland pheasant and mash to feed them another time!

Welcome back mama. Sounds like you've settled well back in Australia.

SpottyTeacakes · 11/01/2014 13:01

I decided not to get her anymore boots so she just needs wellies now although she can't wear her insoles in wellies so they might fit her a bit longer. Hope so as she needs two pairs Hmm

Hope dd is ok. Eugh at tcp!

halestone · 11/01/2014 13:50

Welcome back Mama, hows life back in Australia?

Beasty i hope your day improves. Thanks

Spotty wow i didn't realise girls shoes cost that much.

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 11/01/2014 13:55

You can get then cheaper hales but dd needs decent shoes so no supermarkets, clothes shops or Clarkes. Can only be startrite or European brands Smile

Barbeasty · 11/01/2014 19:09

We went on a useless trip to get DD some wellies and a coat. She wants a butterfly coat, and I suspect Sainsbury's did one a while ago and someone at nursery has it, but nowhere does one now.

Then for a drive so both DC slept. So of course now A isn't particularly tired. Ah well.

SpottyTeacakes · 11/01/2014 19:21

We're off out for an Indian super excited Grin

WLmum · 11/01/2014 20:44

DH and I just had a lovely day out in London minus the dds! We went for lunch and to see Charlie and the chocolate factory - he arranged it as part of my Xmas pressie. It was so nice, just wish we had twice as much time!
Hope all the pesky teeth sort themselves out soon.
hales not the nicest thing dn could have said but I have found that dc can say quite shocking things in all innocence.
