GT I think it depends. We had first steps at 11 months and at 12 months 2 weeks he does a good jog and walks 90% of the time. But others had months between it.

PetiteRaleuse · 19/12/2013 19:29

LO took a few steps at 12mo and was trying to run within weeks. DD1 took a couple of steps at 13ish mo then nothing til 15mo when she got up and ran. They're all different, they will all be running us ragged in a couple of months. And we'll yearn for the non mobile days I already am

PetiteRaleuse · 19/12/2013 19:30

Cables, like cat poo, are prizes for puppies. And older dogs Hmm

DDog nicked my fresh baguette this morning. Twat.

PetiteRaleuse · 19/12/2013 19:37

I had to brake suddenly to avoid a twat coming out of a blind exit today. Regular occurrence. You shoukd crawl out of that exit but people are twats. Dangerous ones.

Anyway, I bit my tongue this morning.

DD1 didn't.

'Kin twat! Is what I heard from the back of the car.

Ooops.

Blush

She was right though; I said nothing. But rofl'd internally Blush

The French would never understand twat. And she didn't pronounce the fu part of fucking.

PetiteRaleuse · 19/12/2013 19:39

I have been spectacularly sweary the last few days. Not at the kids. But deffo since I heard the ils are coming.

YellowWellies · 19/12/2013 19:55

PR I'd be well proud of that outburst!!! Grin

Well my pal is having a boy. Hurrah! And another pal has just texted me to say she is literally being induced now. So exciting. Proper broody much!? Smile

My sis is over for a sleep over to keep the bear and I company. I love how he climbs up her for big cuddles too. He's such a cuddly boy at the moment. I love it! Hopefully we'll have a good night but it's nice to have back up.

PetiteRaleuse · 19/12/2013 20:05

I'm kinda proud. It was well in context.

Cuddly-but-not-clingy phases rock.

I don't think I've ever been broody. I think I missed out on the broody dose at birth. I'm so take it or leave it re child bearing and rearing I feel guilty sometimes.

PetiteRaleuse · 19/12/2013 20:11

Disclaimer : love my two to bits. But DH was v much the clucky one. Is that bad? I'm a good part time mum. I don't miss them when I know they are safe with their dad or at nursery. There is not a moment in the day when I think I'd rather they were with me, but I love the moment I go to pick them up.

And the best special times are when one of them is off sick. I love being able to spend time with one of them. It's so special. As long as they're nottoo sick. But conjunctivitis for example gives me precious one on one time.

Just being honest. Hoik the judgey pants up good and proper Xmas Wink

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 19/12/2013 20:20

Ahhhh yw Ime boys are more affectionate than girls. DS1 daily says "I love you my mummy" or "my lovely girl" and even "my mummy darling" He is just a scrummer. My girls are v affectionate now but that is cos we have to squash all our cuddles in, comparing them at this age when I was with them there were not so cuddly.

I have descended into Christmas a bottle of wine, cosy knee tea with the hubster and candles.

Family group are taking us to soft play tomorrow. I amreally excited, what a treat. I find it hard to go on my own with a preschooler and an emerging toddler as I need to be in two places at once, with family group there are lots of adults and childless lady volunteers to help me achieve that. ( obviously as I have no friends I just can't go usually. I could go with SIL but she has been unexpectedly working full time (she is a sub teacher))

Am on a Wine hyperbabble. Sorry.

PetiteRaleuse · 19/12/2013 20:30

Am on a hyperbabble too but [coke]

And I mean the drink, not the Nigella Special. (Would insert joke about ham in coke but I like Nigella so won't)

Would love to go to soft play as DD1 would love it, but with LO too would be impossible.

A year ago DD1 was starting to get ill with the cold that turned into pneumonia. I had one friend to call on but she has inexplicably dumped me this year. If it happens again the ILs will be here just after xmas

TheDetective · 19/12/2013 20:42

O took 6 weeks from first steps to confident walking all the time. :)

Passmethecrisps · 19/12/2013 21:00

Once p walked she never crawled again. Now she runs most places. She sometimes crawls but does it in a sort of exaggerated "being a baby" way. Funny.

Love DD1s assessment of driving pr. I could do with her in the car with me some days.

Sophiathemistletoefairy · 19/12/2013 21:17

Oh yes hi5 big mini pr love it!

PetiteRaleuse · 19/12/2013 21:33

It's half past 10 and my swearing lovely dd1 is still refusing to go to (my) bed.

Mil is going to have a field day.

PetiteRaleuse · 19/12/2013 21:47

Re affectionate boys. DD1 humiliates me daily by refusing a kiss at pick up or drop off time IF I already have LO in my arms. Might reverse the drop off/pick up routine to see if I am allowed a kiss. Never thought of that. I automatically deal with LO first as she found it so hard at the beginning.

horseylady · 19/12/2013 22:06

Pr I've never been broody either.

Thanks for the well wishes. Cough calmed down loads now. Yay! Hopefully this is it!! Well of this illness.

Been to Olympia today!! Was fab!! Bought a new hat :)

PetiteRaleuse · 19/12/2013 22:34

Xmas Envy horsey re Olympia

YellowWellies · 20/12/2013 00:25

Oh crap another f*cking tooth or maybe it's another edge of the same premolar. Poor bear. Am glad my sister was here to cuddle him whilst I got ready for bed, tucked the dog up for the night otherwise he'd have had to accompany me or been left to howl. I got upstairs and he was asleep in her arms. He clearly recognised an old hand. Sadly he woke on transfer - a sure sign its teeth so I'm rocking him back off in the rocking chair. I hate seeing him in pain Sad

HoLilyChristmas311 · 20/12/2013 03:00

O still doesn't walk. She hardly holds my fingers but not brave enough to let them go. It's ok. One day she will :). Insomnia here again. And o is restless too, I can hear her crying sometimes but she is quiet after 10 seconds.

O has cuddly days but in general she is not. I cuddle her but she just moans at me.

I've always been broody and having O just made it worst. I so want another one.

J did not sleep. He cried all night. Hmm Poor DH has his appraisal at 9 a.m. He's going to have to fake it. Christmas-dinner-gate keeps getting worse, apparently DNephew demands chicken and even wrote it on his Christmas letter. So now we are having turkey, ham, beef Wellington, chicken and sausages wrapped in bacon. As DH says, we're not a restaurant. Then DH asked why we aren't having any appetisers and should we have - get this - figs wrapped in Parma ham, chicken drumsticks and cocktail sausages for when our guests arrive. Ffs the guy is deluded, they're going to pitch up here after breakfast, I'm sure they'll be able to wait until lunch. I have a huge box of chocolates and mince pies it's not as if the house will be empty of door.

Stunt you HAVE to say no. They all clearly think you're a doormat. I'm stunned by how rude they are. Shock Shock Shock Shock

We had a better night than I dared hope up twice, fair enough when teething.

PetiteRaleuse · 20/12/2013 07:59

Sorry to hear about your night stunt and about how rude your ILs are. Enjoy your weekend with your mum though.

Successful night and morning drop off. No swearing by anyone this morning. Everyone was being careful because of the fog.

I'm having a panic about food. Too early to buy the meat and veg I need. Don't want to take the girls on my own to the packed supermarkets next week though.

StuntNun · 20/12/2013 08:05

Been awake since 1 with a spewing, screaming M. Phoned work to say I'd be in late and they weren't impressed. So I am here on no sleep surviving on coffee. Looking/feeling like shite Sad
