I was delighted to discover today that finally, my hair looks better than Jennifer Aniston's!!! :o

Or it did when it was cut.

fruitpastilles · 07/11/2013 21:20

horsey you are not a failure, you need to do what is best for you and the horse and if that is to sell it, then so be it.

yw I bet the cake will be lovely, your dh sounds so thoughtful.

gt that is so sweet, can't help with the hernia though I'm afraid. Best to get the gp to look at it.

pr do you speak to dd1 in English or French? Lol at the nursery teaching her to tell you to fuck off politely.

GTbaby · 07/11/2013 21:33

PR someone's description in the oct13 post natal thread makes me suspect a umbilical hernia. Doesn't seem to be an issue tho. Will get gp to check it. Need to take his GP registration form tomorrow.

In bed already. Thought I'd watch something on Netflix.

YellowWellies · 07/11/2013 21:40

GT I think Pumpkin's M had a suspected umbilical hernia but it turned out fine.

DH's dairy free cake looks better than the one I made for the Bear. He he guess who's going to be on cake detail next year! Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 21:41

I went through that with pfb DD1. Take him to a doctor, they'll pick it up easily. Don't dr google- their abdomens look funny for years.

I do serious commands in French, like get away from the edge of the river, or don't jump on the dog or the dog is not a fucking horse. Urgent stuff.

But day to day stuff, and TV etc is in English. But 9 hours a day is in French nursery so she generally answers in French. She understands english though and shouts shut up at the dog when he barks :o

ValiumQueen · 07/11/2013 21:42

If would not surprise me if Js first proper word was fucksake. Not that it is a proper word, but YKWIM. He laughs when we get the carpet cleaner out. My poor carpet.

ValiumQueen · 07/11/2013 21:45

One of my pals is setting up a cake mail order business so I have requested dairy free goodies. Free cakes for feedback on how they look after posting, how they taste etc. Of course now I wish I had ordered the creamiest chocolatiest one she had. Bugger.

Pikz · 07/11/2013 21:47

VQ L says uh oh and throws his hands up like I do. Also oh wow like I do. Therefore by rights oh fuck will be next.

He's also walking...but he looks so shocked when he does 5 or 6 steps he falls over. DP and I laughing a lots.

I also wanted to give hope to those still struggling with eaters. L had been horrendous recently. In the last week the transformation is amazing. He's just eating our food as a hot meal for lunch and sandwiches, fruit etc at 5pm for tea as it follows what they do at nursery. He eats rice, grapes, raisins, slices of pear and raw veg etc which he would never ever touch!

GTbaby · 07/11/2013 21:50

A looks so darn cute in his sleep. He was just giggling. Shoulder shaking giggles. And keeps raising his eye brows. Shock

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 21:50

I am v relaxed about swearing. As long as they use in context am not bothered. But swearing is not frowned upon here, in context. Kids come out with stuff which made me Shock at first but as long as it is not a direct insult to another person it is ok. Which is a good way of looking at it. By all means swear at a thing but not at a person. Healthy attitude imo. But my mum gets all shocked when she hears my relaxed 'oh fuck, don't do that darling'on the phone. There's just a difference between expletives and insults.

ChasingDaisy · 07/11/2013 21:51

I swear in front of Oscar far too much. Meh. I like swearing.

YW your DH sounds so lovely.

fruitpastilles · 07/11/2013 21:54

Hehe dd1 sounds like such a character pr I think I've said that before but she really does.

ChasingDaisy · 07/11/2013 21:54

I use swear words as expletives a lot but rarely as insults. If PR says it's ok then it's ok Grin

No real words from Oscar yet. He tries to imitate me singing 'Row your boat' but that's about it.

fruitpastilles · 07/11/2013 21:56

I swear in front of S, her second word will be bollocks for sure Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 22:00

What I mean is the toddlers at nursery say merde when they fall over for example. But if they told another kid to fuck off they would get in big trouble. It's a different attitude to sweariness which removes the taboo but keeps respect for other people.

GTbaby · 07/11/2013 22:01

Did I tell u H first word. He says lots of words. Mum dad FH nick name. But none of then have a meaning.
His first word, where there is an actual meaning, he says it correctly, is baby!

Other day he pulled on to tip toes. Looked into the carry cot, going baby ! baby! baby ! Then when he saw it was empty went "baby?" Lol

His babbling has kinda changed. Before he had a few sounds he would make. Now it's like he is saying a sentence, it just doesn't make sense.

Oh oh H is crying. Please please please self settle. Please.

YellowWellies · 07/11/2013 22:01

I love swearing too. PR I love that attitude but I still hope J doesn't pick up 'cunting FUCK' too early. That's hypocrisy though as I luff a bit of Anglo-Saxon Grin .

Chasing my DH is honestly the kindest, funniest, most gentle hearted soul I've ever met. He's just ace. I never thought I'd end up with someone who makes life and love so easy. I pity him for being married to this ranty fizzkig hissy fitter but he seems to find me his perfect match too Hmm Shock Smile .

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 22:03

Yeah but your kids will get bollocked for using swear words. Mine won't as long as they aren't insulting someone.

ChasingDaisy · 07/11/2013 22:07

I think that's a great attitude PR. My dad used to tell me off for even the slightest 'bad' word - I got told off for saying bum instead of bottom Hmm and I totally rebelled against that and swore fa too much.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 07/11/2013 22:10

So much to say, so much to say.

DS1 s retort to me today when I asked him to do something was "I don't think so". He has been great actually while I have been flailing around with the buttercream and the spatula.

horsey am with chasing and pr , if it is not working then you are doing the right thing, it I understand how hard. Xx

fruit Grin trying to imagine the scene! Would also feel a bit spooked if there was, say, a Sophiatheshitfairy or indeed a hepzibahthesnowfairy. Hmmm quite like the name Hepzibah maybe it is time for a NC here too.

I read a funny thread the other day about CBeebies and it made me Grin that there was a Mrs Ranj! Although I have noticed that every time anyone asks Dr Ranj something he says " ask the nurse" Hmm

Can't believe all the walkers. If I let go of Os hands he stands there, looks disgusted at me and then sits slowly down. He must have thighs of steel the amount of squats that he does. But climbing, yes. Anything to climb and he will climb it. DH admitted to me that he likes to take him to the window and make him hang of the handle Confused . I imagine him dangling there like a Christmas decoration.

I too checked out Chasing Daisy Blush I will be downloading it when I have eventually finished the Jodie Piccoult. You can not beat a. It of chic lit. Have to say I mix them up. I like a chic lit then something more lit lit. After years of reading what I was told at school, college and uni it is lovely to read "airport novels" me and mum used to call them. today the anniversary of mums death feel ok, just have thought of her a little more often than usual and have Os bday tomorrow to look forward to

Elizadoesdolittle · 07/11/2013 22:11

fruitpastilles If I saw that name on another thread I would assume it was you. Your bath tale did make me giggle.

pumpkin Don't think I commented before but hope everything goes ok for you and M. For what it's worth I think you're doing a very brave thing, but the right thing.

Evil How goes things with you?

lily Is nearly over. SOunds to me like you've coped marvellously.

chick Big happy 40th birthday wishes.

PP Glad vvvvvdp got to witness such a magical moment.

horsey Sad You are doing the best thing though.

Talking of hair cuts, I got my hair coloured today for the first time in 5 years. Needed a bit of a lift. Is very subtle though which is good as I won't be able to maintain it. My hairs looking nice at the mo if I do say so myself. It's all about the blowdry though. I'm crap at doing it myself so only ever looks decent just after I've stepped out of the hairdressers!

So tomorrow I am off to a hotel over the other side of London and deserting E on her first birthday. I've accepted that I'm not going to see her on her birthday and even made the decsion that it was the right choice to go to the hotel on Friday. I would never have made it to the wedding in time if I'd driven up Saturday morning. But I feel so awful that I won't see her. Still, I guess I can't feel that bad as otherwise I wouldn't go to the wedding but it's a very dear friends wedding and my DH is best man so really don't want to miss it. I am bitter that they've bloody chosen the one date this year that I didn't want it to be on! have to say I'm looking forward to a lay in on saturday and getting ready in luxuary, and as it's my birthday on Sunday I deserve a treat too. (will be hungover on sunday so a lay in that day doesn't count). Will have to make it up to E in future years and hide the photos of DD1's massive first birthday party before E can make comparasions with hers.

fruitpastilles · 07/11/2013 22:12

Dr Ranj was on this morning the other day, I didn't know he was actually a real doctor!

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2013 22:13

Ha ha yw I remember the day in history at school that our teacher let slip all those one syllable swearies were ancient words. My poor mum.

fruitpastilles · 07/11/2013 22:14

eliza e will have no idea it is her birthday so don't feel bad.

YellowWellies · 07/11/2013 22:16

Wine big squish Sophia Sad it's a horrible date on the calendar. I'm not religious but I do believe the Mums are always close xxx
