I'd like to claim the award GT. O saw me projectile vomit everywhere and was scared witless. I could barely feed him any dinner as I was so sick. I literally cannot stand up. O is in bed thank goodness.

PetiteRaleuse · 05/11/2013 19:58

gt sounds like a normal day at mine until nursery kicked in. 2 under 2 is hard but I can say honestly that it is worth it. Alomost every day the girls have fun together. It will be a long year for you but in a few months you'll be able to say H, go get a nappy, H go tidy your toys, and he may well ignore you, but be cute with it. HOWEVER if you praise him effusively every time he is good, he will be lovely. In a few months. How are you doing with your planning? Focus on that and remember that the best laid plans of mice and men...

YellowWellies · 05/11/2013 19:59

Wow it's been a tough day in the quiche Sad. I was going to rant about middle aged bike wielding train commuters but it isn't really so bad.

OK I still will because I want to rant....

So I get on a delayed train convinced I was missing our Sainsbury's delivery slot with griping teething bear wanting to be out of the buggy and held (but I've no hands free until we're on the train), buggy full of shopping, bouquet of flowers rapidly getting crushed to shite and knackered dog (all after a six mile walk so I was tired too!). In the only buggy space is Mr Middle Aged Cyclist commuter and his amazeballs folding bike. Does he bother folding said expensive piece of kit so he can sit anywhere? Noooo. He wants the only buggy spot on the entire train for 'leg room'. I stagger on with loaded buggy, screeching child and assorted wildlife; laden like a fucking silk road camel at a caravanserai and balance said load in the buggy bay. He visibly flinches that my travelling circus is within inches of his man toy and informs me that he's getting off in three stops and it's not convenient for us to be there 'in his way'...... By this time the bear is hysterical for a cuddle, Betsy is tangled round my knees and the overladen buggy is threatening to keel over backwards. 'That's a shame' I say and sit down anyway looking harassed. Grin He got my hint and somehow, gosh darn bravely, managed to get his childless, dogless, shopping bag-less ass off the train with his toy like a big boy.

I of course thought up some cracking rejoinders after he'd got off. L'esprit de l'escalier! But seriously middle aged blokes with boy toys fook off out of the buggy seats!!!!!

First world problems eh? Smile

GTbaby · 05/11/2013 20:00

Kyz Shock hope no one was hurt

Chick. I think it's a grow bag from tkMax.

Jupiter, long sleeves n tshirts. My baby is too cool. Lol

Stunt. I usually do same, pre prepared meat from tesco. Thinking ill send H to my mums. So he can open gifts with them. In terms of veg it will be pretty bog standard Sunday lunch stuff. I just need a few Indian vegi dishes for mil as she is veg and doesn't eat Xmas dinner.

A has had a 10min feed (after 2hours) and gone to sleep in his carry cot. Hmm This surely means lots of feeding tonight.

Going to have to cancel cinema tomorrow. But will still do lunch and shopping.

Off to google Xmas ideas

PetiteRaleuse · 05/11/2013 20:03

chasing focus on the O is in bed. He won't remember you being sick and even if he does, it's a life lesson, no harm done. You now have a few hours to relax, puke, rehydrate and remember that stomach bugs only last a couple of days. Clean up what you cba to clean, drink water if you can and go to bed. You've both had the bug, it won't come back, and you have nothing to be ashamed about. Relax, get a washing up bowl and lie down. And drink water when you can.

YellowWellies · 05/11/2013 20:04

But we didn't miss Mr Sainsbo so hurrah! Smile

GT this year is going to be tough but you're doing it - every day it'll get easier as A gets more independent. As for BF it'll be hard whatever way you feed A - it was always going to be with such a close gap but you've beaten your own target and are doing amazingly well so whatever you decide you should feel really chuffed.

YellowWellies · 05/11/2013 20:06

Chasing Sad have some flat coke Wine

Passmethecrisps · 05/11/2013 20:11

Evening ladies.

Poor everyone!

Sound advice from pr for you chasing. I so feel for you. I hope the wee man sleeps soundly tonight and you get some well-earned rest.

gt p used to wear one outfit every 24 hours as normal. Fresh one after bath ready for bed and that was it. Nice an a comfy! I hope you also have a restful evening.

Arse yw. Total fanny.

How is the rash pr?

GTbaby · 05/11/2013 20:15

Chasing. Hugs. Hope it's a quick sickness bug and u wake up feeling better.

Pr I thought about nursery today. Few half day sessions a week. Going to call and arrange a visit.
Wondering which is easier morning or afternoon?
Morning. A bit of a struggle to get everyone ready and there. But means I have a few hours to do stuff. Then bring H home he can have a nap.
Afternoon. A bit easier to get out on time. But think H would nap for a long time while there. Also pick up at 6 would rush bed time a bit.
Not sure.

YW. Well done for sitting anyway. I would have listened to the idiot.

Need to sort out my double buggy. As in buy it. As I can't rely on baby sitters to keep one kid nor can I stay at home all the time.

PetiteRaleuse · 05/11/2013 20:19

gt indian veggie food : reheated takeaway? Or something you can do now and freeze ? I'd suggest something more elaborate but it's your mil and she's a pita...

PetiteRaleuse · 05/11/2013 20:27

I would definitely go for mornings gt , and get lunch included if you can. It will be a faff to get them ready but The activities done in mornings are better, then he can come home for his nap.

pass the rash is still there but I'd expect 24 hrs worth of ah to get real improvement. She's conked out now :o Fx for tomorrow. Lesson learned, with a baby with sensitive skin don't try a new soap a few days after a jab. Am v reassured that if no improvement by Monday we will see a paed dermatologist specialist next week. That is good to know. And her face isn't bad enough to make her scratch, yet.

Had a sarky convo with nursery this evening. Was nice revenge for all the stuff they said yesterday. Paed told me to tell them to call her directly if they have any questions.... Says they are a great nursery but stuck in the 50s as far as illness goes, so tend to panic very easily. Complimented me on my lazy laid back attitude.

GTbaby · 05/11/2013 20:32

Well I'm going to have some tandoori chicken at our Xmas meal lol
Sil had paneer, so thinking something different. Whatever her Xmas meal is will need to be easy. May ask her to help. Lol.

ChasingDaisy · 05/11/2013 20:46

Oscar keeps stirring. He better not wake fully otherwise I'll have to decide between leaving him to cry and potentially vomming all over him.

Just Friends Guy just came over. I have literally never looked this shit. He cleaned up all the stuff from dinner that I couldn't face and washed up everything. He even offered to clean up my vom stained bathroom Envy I declined that offer. All the while, he is actually more ill than me right now and shouldn't have driven over here. I love him.

I am going to sleep on the sofa as I can't face clearing up the sick in my ensuite.

Evilwater · 05/11/2013 20:49

Sorry to read of all the sickness gt and chasing

p has been sickly sweet today.
I helped my friend at the atos appointment, it was so hard for her to go over all the stuff that's happened over the past 18 months. I just hope she has a good night.

I have work tomorrow. :(
Evil

PetiteRaleuse · 05/11/2013 20:56

Look away now sick people. I roasted the most expensive chicken I have ever bought tonight. It was vvvvv good, but am angry at myself for buying it. There is enough for several more meals though. Which is fortunate as I said earlier it used up my food budget for the week!

Elizadoesdolittle · 05/11/2013 21:04

chasing Wise words from pr as always. You have my deepest sympathies. Dealing with kids when you have a sickness bug is the absolute worse. But O will be fine, he won't be disturbed about you throwing up. In fact he may well be relieved to know his mummy is sick too and it's not just him Smile. I hope you manage to get some rest and keep some water down.

yw What a dickhead. Glad you didn't let him dictate to you.

charlee congrats. I'm sure once Zara is better and you see the scan pic the shock will soon turn to joy.

MsJupiterJones · 05/11/2013 21:09

Oh poor you Chasing I am so sorry you are going through that alone. Just what you don't need. Hope Oscar has a peaceful night so you can recover.

L has a rash (just to join the quiche trend), it's an odd one as he's had a couple of patches of dry skin either side of his waist for a while, I thought it was just where the nappy met the skin and it didn't seem to bother him, but in the last week more patches have appeared and tonight they are quite red. Still don't seem to be itching or worrying him though. I will put a (bad) pic on fb. May go to docs tomorrow in case it is something like ringworm & needs a cream or is that pfb - what do people think?

PetiteRaleuse · 05/11/2013 21:17

Wouldn't assume ringworm unless you think he may have been exposed to it (has he been rolling in lud or do you have a pet with it?) Would moisturise with your aveeno / vaseline/ or any sensitive skin moisturiser until you get it seen. Not pfb, simple things like hard water or wipes can cause rashes, but always worth getting something on prescription to get rid, or just advice. Never feel pfb about seeing a doctor - no point in rushing in and taking an emergency appointment for something which is not bithering them, but always worth getting whatever worries you checked out, especially if it is getting worse.

ValiumQueen · 05/11/2013 21:22

Chasing that young man sounds like a gem :-) I do hope you feel better soon.

J is all blotchy too, and he has not yet had the jags. I think he ate something he should not have done, or maybe teeth. This morning nursery said it was chicken pox. I told them not to be so daft.

He has just vommed again. Just sitting there quite happily playing with his feet, and vom. All his dinner, which he had actually enjoyed for a change. He had that three hours ago and had a bottle two hours ago. Poor boy. Poor carpet.

So PR, how much was the chicken? I have to know. I just have to. Pleeease? I am glad it tasted good.

I feel like a hamster on a wheel, and I am not allowed to stop as too many people rely on me.

ChasingDaisy · 05/11/2013 21:35

VQ he is my favourite person in the world, after Oscar.

Can't keep water down. Phoned my dad who is going to come over tomorrow.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 05/11/2013 21:39

yw I hope no one was hurt!!!! Bellend. (Rediscovered word of week)

Hugs chasing, he sound like. Good mate. Good mates are gold dust. Hood you recover soon.

gt you are doing good girl. That's just the way it rolls sometimes with a toddler and a newborn, not to mention someone in hosp. Xx

I have just has Os appointment for hIS MMR. In Ascot. Seems our paperwork hasn't even left yet, never mind not caught up!

Funny old day. DH grandmother has been admitted to hosp with a chest infection. He hasn't been to see her for ages, much to his fathers dismay. Everyone panics, DHs uncle contacted in the middle of the med on a cruise. I told DH he should go and see her, just Incase ( and also to avert any future rows between he and his dad) then I stood back and honestly prayed all morning for him to do the right thing. DH is stubborn like his wife. So I just passed on messages and let him make hugs own mind up.

He did go. Que much relief. Not sure what will happen. Am on standby though to take over with Bruce and nephews or ferrying PILs about if necessary. See, am not such a bad egg! Hmm

Sophiathesnowfairy · 05/11/2013 21:41

Not Bruce. Niece. Though Bruce can join in if he so desires, I won't notice one extra!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 05/11/2013 21:42

Poor vq xx

PetiteRaleuse · 05/11/2013 21:43

Oh the hamster feeling is horrible. I learned the hard way though that people can cope when they have to. They really can. Hop off the wheel and recharge before you really need to.

It was 46€. That's about 40£. You don't get cheap 5£ chickens here you never pay less that 10€ for even a basic one which has enough meat for a roast, a curry and soup. I saw 20€ on the label but that was per kilo not per chick, and I thought, ooh, one of that rare special breed that they mention on Masterchef for 20€, never had one will spoil self. Then was too embarassed to admit to the mistake and sat in my car thinking, aaaargh but oh well I have stuff in the freezer. We're on a tight budget but that chicken will feed us for days. My goal is a week with what I have already. And the carcass will be soup and stock forevermore.. It is called 'poulet de bresse' and is very special if you're a French food snob But never again will I buy one. Unless I win on the lottery in which case I will buy one for every quiche member :o

I shed a few tears when I was roasting it thinking this is the stupidest thing I have ever bought, but it did taste very special. And it is a full kg bigger than the ones I normally buy so will get more from it. But not four times as much.

YellowWellies · 05/11/2013 21:45

Pidj ta for that recipe!

Charlee I meant to say congrats too!

PR I'm with VQ how posh a bird are we talking?
