Done GT :)

I'm watching Grey's Anatomy Grin.

With Cookie Dough Ice Cream.

PurplePidjin · 04/11/2013 22:48

I have a screamer Hmm well i did, a nice drink of (cows) milk sorted him out and a fuckload of calgel should i have bf though? He ate enormously today and i don't want to go back to night feeds Sad

We have Daisy Roots for indoor walking, proper shoes for the park and thinsulate bootees for wet weather. And thick woolly socks for sling warmth when not getting down. I'm on the hunt for proper red wellies in a size 4 if anyone sees them

misslaughalot · 04/11/2013 22:50

Hi peeps, been absent from the thread for a while due to lack of wifi when we moved house, but all connected now so spent ages catching up!

Evil you're such an inspiration holding it all together for you and N, and doing what you need to do to get away.

Chasing am loving your dating tales. Has O been better through the rest of today?

Donna I saw some retracted posts from you, hope everything is ok?

It's been lovely seeing how you're all celebrating first birthdays. I too am rubbish at remembering who is when, aapart from Chasing's O as he shares it with babylaughalot.

It's also been good to see positive reports of nursery time. We have our settling in sessions next week and then she starts the week after, although I will send her for shorter days then as I don't start back at work until the week after.

So she has been sleeping horrendously recently, and isn't the only one judging by what I've read here! The first week in our new home I couldn't work out what it was that was waking her so often: teeth, growth spurt or just general change in circumstances. Didn't help that the neighbour we share a wall with thought that banging his side during her crying was going to help somehow. Seriously, does he think I was waking her every 2 hours just to piss him off? Anyway, the last 5/6 nights have been much better, she's now going for 12 hours with just one waking about halfway through. She even slept through me setting off the smoke alarm tonight Blush

Sleep clothing for us for the last week is short sleeved vest, babygro and 2.5 tog sleeping bag. It gets quite chilly in her room during the night.

Elizadoesdolittle · 04/11/2013 23:07

yw I love Ken Follet too and historical fiction. My fave Ken Follet book is winter of the world which is the one after fall of the giants so add that to your reading list. The next one in the trilogy is out next year so crack on with it Smile

E is in a short sleaved vest, sleepsuit and 2.5 tog grobag as well. Our house is quite hot (I have heating on constant with the thermastat set to 22o) although it is colder than that upstairs but E's room won't drop below 18o. I hate being cold!

GTbaby · 04/11/2013 23:59

Thanks for sending me the crochet pattern det.

Sry. Still not been able to catch up. Spent last hour on Pinterest looking at things I can do for Xmas day lunch/ dinner which are high impact low effort.

Thinking I may have everyone over for nibbles at 4 and dinner at 6. Ill have Hs nap time to get nibbles ready, then our guests can entertain him while I get dinner done.

I know I know I have enough on my plate. But planning Xmas is something nice to distract me. And if I start planning now it will be easy. And if it all gets too much ill make a curry and be done with it. Lol

Actually I'm looking forward to it. Got loads of lil ideas to mk it lovely :)

itsnotyouitsMeals · 05/11/2013 00:19

Have updated stats to include me and I (baba), not my alter ego. Must name change now as will be v identifiable!

Hope everyone well. Happy birthday to babies and mummies.

Got a work dilemma. May post on FB.

Also I want to learn to crochet. But video tutorials I've found are too quick. Any ideas?

Have clingy, teething, sleep dodging baby too. Not ideal for return to work poor darling.

Love to you all. Stay strong. Xx

YellowWellies · 05/11/2013 00:47

Cheers Eliza! that's awesome!

GTbaby · 05/11/2013 01:28

H sleeps in short sleeved vest. Never bought long sleeve vests until now, to wear under tshirts. He wears a baby grow. Until recently he slept with a cellular blanket, which would always come off, now he has a 1.5tog sleeping bag. His room hovers around 18deg this time of year. 16deg when very cold.

A is in cot. Feed and transfer took 1.5 hours Hmm but hope he sleeps till 4 FC. Oh oh he is stirring.

Kyz · 05/11/2013 03:02

Morning quiche, apologies for just skimming, can't remember anything at this ungodly hour. Sorry for not being on, only the floor caved in the dining room today too. Have just painted half the upstairs ceiling. It is e's birthday tomorrow and I have seen him for a handful of hours for almost a week now and I am broken. I can't be without him much longer, I want my baby back but this work won't do itself. Fucking ceiling. Am 5ft 2 so need more than a cunting ladder to bastard reach! It's a fucking high ceiling too!!! Bastard!

On the upside the hall floor was sorted this morning and I couldn't be in the house for that myself never mind e so I took him out for the day :D I miss him so bloody much.

Anyway, enough about me, and I'm sorry for not being about for all of you :( I hand on heart miss you all and just haven't had time for anything never mind posting :( I need to sleep now as e has his 12 month check tomorrow at 9:30 so alarm set for 7:30. Then his bday is weds and party sat. How am I going to manage all of the above? Without a functioning house? Fucksticks!!! Am so grateful mil has had e because otherwise would be in hotel and yes would see him but would've barely done anything as would have needed to be with him all the time.

CharleeWarlee · 05/11/2013 03:22

Sorry to butt in but I need to moan! Had a BFP yesterday morning and have a poorly Zara. Took her to the docs and they said nothing was wrong. Then why the fuck is she boiling to touch, crying constantly and keeping me awake. Have not even had 5 mins. Dp on the other hand is fast asleep and has been since 11, bad the 5 mins he was awake whilst I was crying my eyes out through lack of sleep and stress but happily left me to bring Zara downstairs whilst he caught up on sleep. So angry, hormonal and stressed. Shall I take Zara to out of hours and see if they will give antibiotics???

Lily311 · 05/11/2013 05:15

charlee how do you feel about the bfp? Is it good news?

How is Zara this morning? Take her back to dr if concerned.

kyz oh my goodness! I have no idea how you cope. ((Hugs))

We had screamathlon last night for over an hour. I nearly lost it :(. She had some medicine and milk and went to sleep at 5.30. I didn't try to put her to go back to sleep, just switched light on and we started the day. Explosive nappy this morning, pretty much it's teething. She has been having calpol for a week, one dose at night time. Is it ok?

O is in 2.5 togs, long sleeve vest and pyjama trousers. She had pyjama top as well 2 weeks ago but it's warmer now.

Starting to wonder if the rash is a reaction to the new milk I introduced about 5 weeks ago. But that would be weird right? To react a month later? yw ? It has to be the mmr. Didn't sleep anyway and woke her up accidentally at 5 by going to the loo. She's been up since. Happy and playful but obviously itching when she thinks about it. Whatever the cause I want anti histamines.

Tooth 8 is coming through.

kyz I'm so sorry you are going through all this Flowers

lily a dose of calpol a night is ok. It's when you dose every six hours for several days that you need to see a Dr.

charlee congratulations !

sophia it's the film zamboni mentioned. It's trashy action but enjoyable and easy to watch.

Thechick · 05/11/2013 06:11

I've been awake since 5 and didn't go to sleep until 11.30. I'm going to be tired today. H keeps waking and falling back to sleep.

Kyz my goodness. I hope everyone was okay. Is it an old house. How much work is it oing to take??
Charlee congrats on your bfp. I'm so jealous of you having more babies. I would love to have another but we just can't afford to. Childcare is so expensive and we'd need to move house or sort out the attic and there's no extra cash for that. Could the dr have meant that its viral and would go away on its own rather than there's nothing wrong. Because there's definitely something wrong. Talk to dp. You shouldn't be dealing with a sick child on your own. Hope she's better ths morning.

Thechick · 05/11/2013 06:16

Purple I give H random bf during the morning if I'm around and I feed him to sleep and he sleeps through.
Gt where did you get 1.5 sleeping bags. I think maybe 2.5 is a bit warm for my house so I'm looking for 1.5 or 2

MsJupiterJones · 05/11/2013 06:52

Charlee congratulations :) but yes I would take her for a second opinion.

Kyz sorry to read about all the stress, sounds like a horrible situation. Hope you get to enjoy tomorrow when it comes, happy birthday miniKyz.

GT the long sleeve babygro under t shirt is a very cool look ;)

I seem to be recovered from norovirus and back home without infecting anyone (including DH which is a minor miracle). Had forgotten to take phone charger so was v boring weekend in quarantine!

Re. books, I was also an avid reader before L but struggle to read anything new now, I just re-read Poirot to switch off (even though I know whodunnit). I did read a book called Room which my MIL gave me but I do not recommend it to mothers of young children. Harrowing. Also plodded through bloody Wolf Hall.

Donnadoon · 05/11/2013 06:52

Hiya all miss I was giving some advice to a quiche member and I mentioned her DCs name Blush so then I put " oops sorry I'll get them to delete it"
And then " I've asked them" yada yada :)

Donnadoon · 05/11/2013 06:55

kyz Flowers :( you'll get through it, us mums do x
charlee Flowers congratulations woo x but get well soon Z x

Pikz · 05/11/2013 07:06

Oh darling Kyz. Massive hugs xxx

Charlee congratulations and u hope zara is well soon!

PR really hoping the rash calms shortly. L face liking better after a load of cream. Will slather him before nursery!

Off to work today eek

And we just had a first wobbly step!

Pikz · 05/11/2013 07:08

JJ glad you are better and chick hope you are not too tired.

We are in short sleeved vest, pjs and 2.5tog or 1.5tog bag depending on temp. Last night it was cold so 2.5tog.

Evilwater · 05/11/2013 08:07

Thank you for all your support, it's helping me a lot here. Again mr. Nice, but you are right, it won't last. It didn't the last time.
As for the MIL, it's true it's none of my bees wax but I'd like to leave on good terms with her.

N temps are over, :) and so the runny nose is flowing well. It's ok to have paracetamol each night as long as you don't go over the recommended amount.

I'm supporting my friend today, as she is having her ATOS assessment. She's so scared and afraid. Any advice is welcome.

I hope all the toddlers are behaving themselves.
Evil

PetiteRaleuse · 05/11/2013 08:13

I have no advice re ATOS but am ashamed that they are French and doing so much damage Angry

StuntNun · 05/11/2013 08:18

Detective if it's properly fitted and it hurts then you're not scooping enough. Put it on the loosest hook (it should feel tight under your bust and it will stretch over time) then lean forward so your boobs fall into the cups as you put the straps in. Then you need to scoop all the breast tissue towards the centre of the bra making sure you get all the breast tissue near your armpit in or it will dig in. Sorry if I'm preaching to the choir but I had a MN bra intervention earlier in the year after being given completely the wrong size in John Lewis and ending up in pain. JL fitted me as 34E but when I went to Bravissimo they gave me a 30H - bit of a difference there!

GT my go to for an easy Christmas dinner last year when J was small was M&S. They're pricey but you can get preprepared things that are no effort. We had a roasting joint that was already stuffed and in a foil tray so all I had to do was take the film off and bung it in the oven. For alcohol and BF, one unit doesn't make much difference, any more than that and you'll need to avoid feeding for 1-2 hours per unit.

There's a Christmas market at Belfast City Hall every year Sophia and Victoria Square is good for shopping.

We had an eventful evening yesterday. J seemed hot after the school run so I took his jumper off but when he was still hot I took his temperature and it was 40.5 so we went up to A&E. It looks like he has a viral infection as he has a rash too. There was some screaming in the hospital but his temperature gradually came down and they let us go home just after 10 after initially saying we would have to stay in overnight. We thought it might be chicken pox but the rash hasn't spread over night so it's probably something else.

PetiteRaleuse · 05/11/2013 08:28

stunt that must have been scary glad the temp went down.

Hmm, this morning since 5 the rash has spread to her forehead and neck. After staying on her torso for the last 6 days this is surprising. Not leaving the surgery without an antihistamine because if it gets as bad as on her torso she will scratch herself to bits. Still wrackîg my brains to work out what it could be other than the jabs. She is well in herself though, no temperature. When i popped in to the nursery this morning to drop off DD1 they couldn't resist another dig, 'maybe it's because of all the creams you put on her'. What, the ones the doctor recommended? Possible, but they are making me out to be at fault. Why the fuck do some people always do that? I have done everything right, followed instructions to the letter. The guilt trips don't work but they do piss me off.

Right, an hour to kill before the appointment I think I will take her to the park.

ditsygal · 05/11/2013 08:29

Det it will feel tight for a while and even can feel uncomfortable while you get used to it - I remember when I first got my new size at bravissimo it felt uncomfortable so one day I put my old bra on but that felt terrible as too loose, so neither felt good! it took about a week to adjust and then the new bras felt great and not at all uncomfortable. Its a bit like when you start wearing a bra as a teenager!
