I've just caught up...ish

Thanks to fruit and yw for Wishing J a happy birthday. The fact only two people mentioned it is probably why I don't really come on here much. I feel ignored so will give up on posting now.

til I'm laid up after surgery in a week and a half no doubt and want the company!

GTbaby · 01/11/2013 23:32

Aww det. Your work sit sucks. I've mentioned before I have same issue at work. Staff of 50+ and only 2 ppl texted me to say congrats. My direct work colleague sent an email to tell everyone, so i know everyone has been told.
A colleague said to me a few years ago that I seemed so confident and made such an effort to make everyone feel welcome. I thought it was lovely thing to say, but now when I think of it, it reminds me of how not confident I am.
Working in a school is like being in a school. I'm the kid who everyone knows. But like you I never get invited to anything. I'm not really part of any group. Before staff events some of the girls get together to get ready have a few drinks, but I'm not a part of them. The boys go to the pub. I'm not invited. Now I have kids, it's just going to get worse!

Sad I'm going to sleep before I start thinking about it too much.

Kyz · 02/11/2013 01:47

Hey all, not been on for a bit as erm the floor caved in after we decided to decorate and now the house is entirely upside down :| e is at mils and I miss him like crazy but it isn't safe and unless I stay here to sort things it'll be a mess for god only knows how long!

Anyway I am alive and nobody is hurt

Got lots to catch up on! I know I've missed birthdays if nothing else, so happy birthday to quichelets! I know izzys j was yesterday as I remember her referring to him as her wee pumpkin! :)

Hope the quiche is well ? If it weren't two and I didn't have to get up at 6 I'd catch up!

Hope everyone is ok, anyway :) any summaries going?

GTbaby · 02/11/2013 03:39

Shock Kyz what a shocker. Hope your all ok and no one got hurt!

Lily311 · 02/11/2013 05:09

izzy I'm sorry you feel ignored. I did wish happy birthday on Facebook though not here, you are right. I am really bad at mentioning people in posts and I don't reply to everyone but that doesn't mean that I don't read or miss a poster. Hope you are ok.

sophia a diary is awesome?that will help the girls understand things when they are teens. Any chance you can fight for them and get them later?

evil great news on house. Very well done. When is moving day?

det hugs! nothing more to say.

Pr yes! I need to make a decision career wise soon as well. I pretty much decided tó stay át home for another year with O but I need to think what I want to do after. No idea really but for now I can't care less, finishing open uni is my main priority.

O slept till 6, I had to go in once at 1 as she sat up and couldn't lie down. She cried up numerous times but settled back within 15 min or so.

Zamboni · 02/11/2013 05:30

izzy sorry you have felt ignored. I think everyone does from time to time. Hope J had a lovely day. How are you managing sleep wise?

kyz oh no!! Hope it gets sorted quickly.

stunt good news on a moving date.

pennie hope the lessons are fun!

det sorry to hear about work being crap. When it's such a big part of life it can really affect everything. Fingers crossed something better crops up for you soon.

PP thanks for the cake suggestions!!

Zamboni · 02/11/2013 05:32

lily will finishing your studies give you specific options?

Lily311 · 02/11/2013 06:02

I don't think so, I'm doing the open degree. But at least I will be more employable as I already have a degree in economics. Hungarian companies love foreign degrees so if we stay here I will have a good chance at getting a job and negotiating terms.

GTbaby · 02/11/2013 06:13

Oh dear. Scream a thon from H. Even when picked up and cuddled made no difference Hmm no idea why he woke like Taft.
Mum has taken him down now while I feed A.

ChasingDaisy · 02/11/2013 06:22

Blimey kyz! Shock

Izzy I'm sorry that you are feeling ignored but I hope you can remember all of the support you have received from the quiche too. I hope your little pumpkin had a great birthday Smile

horseylady · 02/11/2013 08:09

In which case look for a different department or community work? They always seemed much nicer to me. And happier. I guess on wards there's so many shortage. Esp post natal. It was carnage. Labour was ok when I went.

What I'm saying, is there's always options, if you like your job, work as well as you can. You can try to change some things, others you just have to work with. It will get better. The nhs is just shit. Which trust are you under? Say in fb? That has a lot to answer for!!

horseylady · 02/11/2013 08:11

izzy I have no idea whenanyonesbirthday is!! Sorryxx

PetiteRaleuse · 02/11/2013 08:35

izzy I hope what you said last night wasn't true. I often think of you and LO and would hate you to feel ignored or unsupported in any way. I also have trouble remembering my own family's birthdays. Honestly. I hope you and he had a great day :)

ValiumQueen · 02/11/2013 08:45

Izzy, I too said happy birthday (I am pretty sure anyway) on FB, but not here, so I apologise. I guess that just means to me you have graduated from quichelet to proper RL friend status. I would never ignore you.

A good night here, but I feel like I have been run over as I slept.

Kyz that sounds dreadful. I am do glad nobody got hurt.

Hope M is better soon Pumpkin, and how is J today YW?

How is your scabby leg Pass? Hopefully it is a lovely itchy scab now.

Passmethecrisps · 02/11/2013 09:03

izzy vq said it beautifully. I am sorry that you feel ignored on here. I do love looking at your Facebook pics though.

Shock kyz! That sounds horrendous! Were you injured? Hope all is fixed and you get E back soon.

vq I took the advice of various quichesters re my scabby leg. I spent the Sunday with it undressed and my trouser leg rolled up. Then I just went for it and left it uncovered. It is now a rather fabulous itchy scab which I luxuriate in scratching like a big Labrador

PumpkinIsles · 02/11/2013 09:11

Izzy what vq said! You are fab and I follow all your movements in a non creepy way on fb Grin But I understand how crap it is to feel ignored, so sorry if I have contributed to that xx

Hope it is fixed soon kyz

M is still poorly vq. Properly croaky and congested. My mum was meant to have her today but we are going to take her diving with us and sit her at the side of the pool in her carseat. GP assures me the humidity will help Hmm . If no better we will be back to docs on Monday.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/11/2013 09:55

izzy I too am sorry you feel like that! I think we all have "I am being ignored" days but I think we all receive the support when we really do need it. I am sorry for not wishing J a happy birthday. I too do not know when anyone's birthday is and can oly wish the happiness when prompted. Blush

I am doing some comfort baking today so will virtually whizz you over a batch of scones and some wheaten bread. Xx

MsJupiterJones · 02/11/2013 11:12

Jims so are we! Mini quiche meet!

Izzy no-one would have remembered L's birthday either if I hadn't mentioned it. I know how you feel but I think a lot of us have felt like that at one time or another, it's inevitable with such a lot of quiche members all going by pseudonyms. When I did mention it lots of people wished him a hb Smile I think of you as a much loved member of the quiche and I don't think anyone would want to upset you.

I am stuck in bed at my ILs (abroad) after a horrific night, assuming I must have the norovirus. I don't even know how to admit this but it involved pyjamas and bedsheet that now need a wash. BlushShockConfused Mortifying. It's ILs Ruby wedding party tonight & I don't want to ruin it but also don't want to spread it around. Never had anything like that before, I felt like I child and may even have cried for my mum at some point.

ValiumQueen · 02/11/2013 11:42

JJ when I was a student many moons ago we wore a white uniform and I also had a similar experience on the staff minibus on the way home. I was not popular. At least it was in bed eh?

ValiumQueen · 02/11/2013 11:42

I don't think you should go to the party though as you will be infectious. I hope you feel better soon x

FatimaLovesBread · 02/11/2013 11:44

Morning all. Still trying to catch up.

Thanks for all your comments re. MIL and the car seat. DH is going to mention it. Hopefully she'll change it no question, if not then M is not going in her car.

Think we're going car shopping today. My list of wants is terribly restrictive and when we've looked I just can't get myself excited about any. We're looking at a Skoda Octavia, a Ford C-Max and a Grand C-max at the moment. Any opinions?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/11/2013 12:29

fatima live my grand c max that I bought I t he summer. Really flexible but not too big.

PumpkinIsles · 02/11/2013 12:37

fatima my mum has just bought a cmax and loves it! Do what we did and go with the intention of buying a big car and fall in love with a fiat 500 Grin . We're going to swap our megane estate for a 4x4 next summer, either a toureg, freelander or kia something.

Elizadoesdolittle · 02/11/2013 13:18

fatima I have a ford c max and love it. However if I got a new car now I'd go for the grand c max.

stunt great news re the moving date. Finger crossed it all goes smoothly.

kyz sounds horrific! Hope you are all ok and it's sorted quickly.

Completely forgotten what else I was going to say as this has taken me ages to type! Will check thread.....

FatimaLovesBread · 02/11/2013 13:22

DH loves the Grand C-max, but I don't know if it's a bit big. I feel like people will be saying why do we need a people carrier with one child. But it would easily fit all the camping things in. We need big boot for cricket/pram/camping and those three all have big boots.

Glad to hear you all like your c-Max's though
