figgy as long as the understanding is there the words aren't really a problem yet.

hop DD1 is very much like your DS, she's a mad thing and doesn't sit still. She's currently sporting a green forehead bruise where she ran into the table, she's just usually in such a hurrying doesn't pay attention she doesn't see things until she's crashed into them.

OiMissus · 07/11/2013 18:08

A damn fine excuse to Christmas shop online, I'd say!
Will you be answering the door in your best negligee from now?

BobaFetaCheese · 07/11/2013 19:12

If I did that Oi there's a chance DH might catch me & want to do the sex

DS1 has learnt how to hop on one leg, badly, so he's spent the afternoon crashing into everything. The uncoordinated fool.

mopsytop · 07/11/2013 19:50

Hop and Seven, Minimopsy is also constantly sporting spectacular bruises. She is a dare devil. She is always getting bruises at nursery from falling off chairs or climbing over stuff. Recently the poor girl at nursery was nearly crying saying 'she was right beside me, I don't know how she managed to fall' but I reassured her that it is the same at home! I'm glad she's adventurous and tough but a few fewer bruised would be nice!

Faffin · 07/11/2013 20:21

Thanks to hop for adding me to the FB group. So nice to put real names and faces to the MN names, and great to see seven's fab new kitchen Smile

DH bday today, he was at work but had a nice time with cards and presents from the DC's this morning, and I had fun today making him a cake with them: "birthday daddy cake" as DS called it. Mum offered to sit so we could go out but DH exhausted due to work and project managing our build, so we're having takeaway curry and a filum instead

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 07/11/2013 20:48

DH has man flu and the noise of him sniffing, sneezing and coughing, plus the constant sighing and generally sadz he is giving off are not invoking sympathy and loving feelings in me. I think I have PMT beacuse I'm about ready to beat him to death with a plastic ruler.

ChipAndSpud · 07/11/2013 22:21

I have man flu too although I was dedicated and still went to my aerobics class! Feeling better for it!

DS went on the rampage at nursery yesterday and kept pushing over other kids (including babies Blush) which is not like him at all! Luckily he was very well behaved today! I said to the nursery staff I was worried he wasn't very confident as he can comes to me for reassurance a lot at playgroup, but they assured me he's got plenty of confidence at nursery which I was relieved to hear about! They said usually if a baby is crying and he knows they have a dummy he gets it for them or brings them toys so he is caring - so nice to hear things like that!

Will try and do a proper name check tomorrow as I'm off work then!

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 07/11/2013 23:12

Thanks faffin. Takeaway and a film sounds just as good :)

Off to Somerset tomorrow.

Figgygal · 08/11/2013 07:44

Sorry to hear about all of the lurgy ladies

DS decided it was time to get up today at 6:30 today which was a bit of a shock as he's been sleeping until after eight for the last few weeks........ and my nonworking day too Angry at least I can go and get the shopping done early I'm already sat in the car waiting for the windscreen to demist. It's far too early and cold for this shit Grin

Figgygal · 08/11/2013 07:44

Obviously sympathies for those of you who had to go to work today!!

Faffin · 08/11/2013 11:46

Irritating morning. Just about to take the DC's out to musical minis when I couldn't find my keys anywhere. DH took my car to get takeaway last night. Turns out he's taken my car and house keys to London with him. Found spare car key but battery has gone in it and it just set my car alarm off. Putting keyin ignition didn't stop it, had to wait a long time before it stopped. So now stuck indoors all day (there's nothing walkable from here). Worst of all, today was the day when the photographer was coming to minis. Got some great natural photos of the kids the last two years, and they made nice little Xmas presents for grandparents too Angry

QueenofClean · 08/11/2013 12:30

Sorry to hear some of you are feeling poorly.

Figgy...Sky wakes every morning by 6:30am...doesn't matter if she goes to bed late is still up by 6:30am. However, means I can clean etc first thing and then have the day to play :)

Faffin. That's crappy. Can you snap a few photos of the DC indoors?

Well I have got had the xmas music on and been wrapping xmas presents. Feels good to be organised.

Also had a productive meeting to get Darcie some extra support for her Apsie emotions etc. So that will be getting put into place soon and she will also get to go to a group where it's just for kids on the spectrum and have fun and see that she's not the only one who is different and see that she is special and clever in a great way.

All things are going well at the moment and DH is being really supportive of me and my decisions, especially when it concerns the girls and Darcie's Aspergers.

OiMissus · 08/11/2013 12:31

Oh no! That's bad!
taxi ??

OiMissus · 08/11/2013 12:32

Other news: DH got the job at my place. Yey!
Going for my new shorter hair do now! Grin

QueenofClean · 08/11/2013 12:34

Congrats MrOi

Oi Make sure you post a pic of your new do!

Figgygal · 08/11/2013 13:40

DS has been possessed today everything is screaming and flailing over nothing I have had to wrench him into every item of clothes he has worn today. This afternoon we are making the most of this morning's Poundland visit with paints a3 pads of scribbling paper new crayons a peppa Pig book and a little plastic basket of fake shopping. If that doesn't work he is going out in the garden Grin

Aethelfleda · 08/11/2013 18:11

DS stole my sauerkrat at lunchtime. Didn't want the ham and mayo sandwich, did want the sauerkraut. Weirdo.

ChipAndSpud · 08/11/2013 19:42

Oh no what a pain Faffin! Hope your DH was suitably apologetic!

We'll done MrOi and hope you get a nice haircut MrsOi!

Glad things are going well Queen long May it continue!

Cold he be teething Figgy? Anyway, hope DS cheered up with his painting :)

Toddlers are weird with food, but sauerkraut?!

DS isn't keen on meat at the moment with the exception of minced beef, I'm kind of just ignoring this and just keep putting different meals on his plate. I guess if he won't eat chicken or pork it won't hurt him! Also getting picky over vegetables, again these still get put on his plate!

I'm not sure if ds is having a growth spurt or what, but I can't keep up with him at the moment...today he's had two bowls of shreddies for breakfast followed by a very large portion of yoghurt, 4 biscuits (he just kept eating at playgroup), about 8 rice cakes, more than half a tin of beans on toast (toast was ignored), strawberries, grapes, about 4 cream crackers, packet of quavers, two bowls of tuna & tomato pasta, and a bowl of dry Cheerios, and sultanas.

DM thinks he will be eating us out of house and home by the time he's a hungry teenager!

ChipAndSpud · 08/11/2013 19:43

I wonder if he would be more full up if he had more protein?

Faffin · 08/11/2013 19:52

Lovely hair oi and congrats to MrOi

chip yes, he was v apologetic and was even thinking he'd try and get home early this afternoon. Fortunately a friend came here for a playdate and ignored the chaos here due to the building work which saved me from the madness of being cooped up all day with two bickering children!

NorthernChinchilla · 08/11/2013 20:07

Evenin' all!

I was away at a conference again on Thursday, so off Wednesday night. Journey from hell to get to Winchester (too much to go into here) and then when I got there my hotel room hadn't been paid for by work and I had to shell out £125 Shock
Then the room door wouldn't open- I could see the hotel staff's confusion turning to worry at the fear there was a corpse in there... to their credit though, they then put me in the bridal suite Grin!

Congratulations to MrOi, what with figgy's DH feeling better, Queenie's OH being supportive and my DP's job success we're not doing too badly on the bloke front.

That did make me laugh yesterday hop, it's so weird when they drive us completely insane but we still love them.

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 08/11/2013 21:28

Greetings from Somerset.

Just a quick one to say glad things are going well for oi and queen :)

Figgygal · 08/11/2013 22:24

Seven where in Somerset are you? Northern hope you are homke now.

Ds had to be taken out in car this afternoon as he wouldnt sleep and i. Really needed him to as he was beyond tired. He has also eaten like a scavening beast today he had 2 lunches a whole pack of melon and grapes, a satsuma, fig rolls, a smoothie and then a chicken and veg dinner Blush hopefully he will sleep well. I have to get more teething powders in the morning in case his teeth contributing to the general moodiness these are his last 2 teeth i think.

My. Evening went tits up tonight was meant to be out with work chums, been booked for weeks and weeks, Wednesday 1 person bowed out as had something on last night and his mrs didnt want him out 2 nights in a row, fair enough other friend said to just come round for a takeaway and a gas, turns out she went out on the same thing last night got pissed and then at 5.30 tonight decided she was too rough to have me round......well thanks a bunch!! Have been consoling myself with wine tonight not because i could have gone last night as have nothing to do with the group they were out with but they are out all the time, i dont have the same opps and they prioritised last night over something with me .......got a bit of a hump on about it. Dh is out all day tomorrow and feeling a bit lonely for a proper friend. Despite living here 10yrs i dont have a "best mate" here but 2 back at home really missing having someone to call on at short notice, go for lunch with etc.

Ignore my self indulgent rambling!

mopsytop · 08/11/2013 22:27

oh dear figgy Sad I'd feel cross too

I'm on train back from airport. V tired.

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 08/11/2013 23:30

Sorry figgy that's pants. I only have one friend, and our lives have both taken such different turns since our DSs were little (I've had another 2 DCs and she's now sleeping with a 22yo and getting divorced) we're not that close anymore. We're staying about 5 miles away from Weston-super-mare.
