Brew oh dear! what happened?

TheDetective · 12/10/2013 12:10

Been trying to put him down for a nap for 2 hours.

Lets just say, I don't know what the fuck is wrong.

I'm currently attempting to feed to sleep as I don't know what else to do. I've spent the whole of my Saturday morning with a screaming baby. Fucking fabulous.

Glad I wasn't intending to go out it anything.

The whole day is fucked up now. Hmm

Sophiathesnowfairy · 12/10/2013 12:15

(((((((((Hugs)))))))))))) don't know what to suggest, us it teeth, calpol maybe? Coming down with a cold, you know yourself the days before your cold comes out you feel shit but no outward sign of cold, tbat's when drugs are needed. I always feel awful when I get annoyed with the child then 2 days later they are stream g they prob had an awful headache and hot eye feeling and I did not tend to them.

TheDetective · 12/10/2013 12:19

I've calpoled!

He just took 7oz and fell asleep. On my lap.

I swear if he wakes when I move him I will actually start crying louder than him!!!!!

He was tired when I put him down. There is no reason why he shouldn't have just gone the fuck to sleep!

He's a pretty routine baby, and has clear tired signs. So I have no idea what went wrong.

Last time he did this was when I gave him tomato. He hasn't been anywhere near tomato!

Waaaaaaah!

I'm going to leave the snorer here for 10 minutes then try and put him in the cot. And eat lots of fecking chocolate.

ValiumQueen · 12/10/2013 14:47

Hi Smile

The bug seems to have passed over now thank fuck.

I was almost utterly depressed by the bf talk, but I am not going to be as I am over all that. I think it helps that I have had two good feeding experiences, and there are clear reasons why Jacob is no longer bf, plus I NEVER have to do it again!!!! I love the skin on hot milk though GrinGrinGrin chewy Wink But please people, do not let the bf/ff issues affect the wonder of the child we have.

Donnadoon · 12/10/2013 15:51

Thankyou everyone for the congrats Flowers Wine Cake for tonight in front of telly.
Today is the first time in months and months that Ive fancied a cup of tea, just bought some everyday twinnings from tesco half price to see what its like and Oh my its delish !

TheDetective · 12/10/2013 15:52

I was rescued by a friend and took O to the park. I thought it would wear him out. All that toddling around in his new shoes. Spent over an hour there! Walked there and back in the sling. All that fresh air, should knock a kid out right?!

No. It did not. Hmm

He seems to be going asleep now, but he has whinged himself to sleep, and he hasn't done that for ages. :(

Crapsticks. Please don't forget how to sleep again!!!! PLEASE!

ChasingDaisy · 12/10/2013 16:17

Developmental leap Det? That's my go to reason for any sleep related ishoos!

Enjoying my 'day off'. Went for a walk earlier and have caught up on some TV. Anyone watch Educating Yorkshire? I love it. Very inspirational and I have a new found respect for teachers. I have also been browsing My Single Friend and there seem to be some decent blokes on there Smile. I seem to see hot men everywhere on Saturdays when I don't have O with me. I think they are off my radar when I have a child in tow - either that or I assume I won't be on anybody's radar due to said child.

YellowWellies · 12/10/2013 16:47

VQ lovely to see you. Glad to hear the bug has fecked off! As for milk skin boak its all yours Wink .

Det wah every sleep hiccup we have, a wee voice in the back of my head screams 'that's it your sleeping baby has gone forever'. But it always seems to right itself somehow a few days later. Teeth or leap or first bug of the winter.

Donna hope you've got your feet up!

Chasing it's very different taking on someone else's kid but the right person will do it one day. Anyone put off by O is clearly a weapon Smile .

The inaugural Betsy dog walk was today and she was a pro on the lead (only nearly went under the buggy two or three times!) not phased by dogs, kids, cars anything just dead calm and so happy to be out sniffing the great outdoors. It was lovely to all wrap up warm and go for a stroll around a local loch. Am looking forward to a good walk everyday Smile

YellowWellies · 12/10/2013 16:50

Chasing a pal I knocked about with as a teenager was the outside broadcast manager in the filming of "Educating Yorkshire" his name's on the credits and everfink. #weakesteverclaimtofame Grin

ChasingDaisy · 12/10/2013 17:28

I got excited thinking you knew one of the teachers then YW Grin I have fallen a little bit in love with one of them.

ValiumQueen · 12/10/2013 17:41

Detective perhaps he is just happy to have mummy home and does not want to waste a moment sleeping when he could be with you.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 12/10/2013 18:20

Lots of house shopping today, toilet roll holders, blankets, bath mats! Great, now wine And nibbles at SILs, with other SIL and DN. All the boys are at home. I dare not ask!

ChasingDaisy · 12/10/2013 18:26

I love cosy winter evenings. Eating beef stew, whilst sitting on the sofa wrapped in a blanket and waiting for Strictly to start. Feeling rather content.

Also, I want to sell my Jumperoo and snug seat. Where is the best place? I have never sold on eBay before - is it easy?

Passmethecrisps · 12/10/2013 18:42

Evenin ladies. I think p is needing to learn how to self-settle properly. Every night now is taking an age and she wakes after 30 minutes and the whole things starts again.

Could this
a) just be because we are on holidays?
b) be a sign she needs to learn to settle herself?
c) be bugger all and will pass as quickly as it started?

Our normal routine is bath, bottle then cuddled up together for face stroking, bunny snuggling and some Ewan. Once asleep nowadays she generally sleeps completely soundly now until 6:30-7am. The issue is that it seems to be taking an eternity at the moment and it isn't actually settling her into a deep sleep. Tonight we were on Ewan cycle 3 when I gave up and just put her down. She cried a few times and is now rummaging around whimpering occasionally but not crying.

Is it better to deal with this now? I don't want to be one of those people who spends all night on the landing but I don't want to be mean!

Passmethecrisps · 12/10/2013 18:50

Thought she had settled but no. DH came back from the supermarket and with all the clattering around the whole thing has started again.

Anyway, how is everyone?

Dog walking sounds like loads of fun yw as does chilly evening snuggling up on the sofa chasing

ChasingDaisy · 12/10/2013 19:01

Pass I wish I could advise about self settling, but I still rock Oscar to sleep Hmm. I know I need to crack the habit but I don't really have the energy for it. Bedtimes are fairly stress free here and it usually only takes 5mins of rocking so I am hesitant to change it.

Passmethecrisps · 12/10/2013 19:04

That was me a fortnight ago chasing. I called it my 'one indulgence'. It could be that her naps are all over the place because of being on hols but this was starting already.

Hmm. I keep thinking that is her but then she lets out another wail. And this flat is so noisy!!

YellowWellies · 12/10/2013 19:07

Pass Jonas is taking ages to settle just now I'm back on trace dairy. Difficulty in settling to bed is a weak CMPI symptom (one of the last before it goes) - is P eating much dairy at the mo? It could be that? The night (and sometimes the next night) I have dairy we always have two night wakings which is unheard of when I don't.

FatimaLovesBread · 12/10/2013 19:10

Evening all!
Weather is grim today isn't it, I've only left the house to go to the coop. DH took M to B&Q this morning so that I could clean.

I think M is getting the mini Poang for Christmas.

I've just won two winter coats on eBay for 99p. They're exactly the same (twin coats) but I figured she could wear one and I can sell the other or pass it on to someone else. It's in 12-18months though so still on the look out for a coat in 9-12.

My tenuous link to Educatig Yorkshire is that my mum serves the deputy head in the shop she works in, he loves down the road and is apparently a lovely man.

Passmethecrisps · 12/10/2013 19:11

Hmm. Nothing that I know of the last few nights. Trace dairy seems to have been ok but I will be especially vigilant the next few nights.

I am now in a total quandry over whether to crack and go in there to cuddle/rock her to sleep or whether to stick at it now I have started. Isn't making for a very relaxing evening.

ChasingDaisy · 12/10/2013 19:17

Fatima it is the deputy head that I am a little bit in love with Grin

MissMummy1 · 12/10/2013 19:47

Hoorah for dog walks YW hope M's viewers weren't more timewasters. Your post earlier did make me a little Hmm. We have a mortgage in principal that is probably now out of date as it is from about 8 months ago and our earnings have both changed significantly since then (for the better luckily so I am not seeing this as an issue). We also have very little in terms of a deposit left after months of illness and having to dip into our savings. BUT, with the new help to buy sceme (5% deposit) and other mortgage schemes in place just now, I do not feel bad viewing properties in our price bracket that are affordable, even if we had to go down a HTB route. It may mean we have to wait a little longer before putting in an offer than others while getting everything up to date again if we ever find something we like. Also, in the 8 months we have been looking, there is very little that we like so I don't mind that we haven't got all of our ducks in a row yet, so to speak. I digress, I just felt a bit Hmm that we might be considered time wasters like those viewers by some, when in actual fact if the absolute right place came up, it would be possible for us to get everything together and put in a realistic offer.

And breathe.

Glad illness has left VQ

Fatima DP bought M a mini poang, she loves throwing herself out of it onto her playmat Shock It is very cute though. The chair, not her kamikaze actions.

Sorry today has been tricksy det.

Pass my wonderful bedtimes have gone completely out of the window the past couple of weeks with another batch of teefs. Just when I had it sussed. No advice, but keen to read others thoughts.

I survived my first ocean diver scuba lesson Grin

Kyz · 12/10/2013 20:03

Evening all

pikz is all ok?

I was wondering how apple is too, hope all is well

yw I was panicking by that point, he wouldn't latch and wasn't taking much milk at all and by day 3 I just felt really panic stricken and really did think he'd die if I didn't feed him something, which is why I started expressing but I couldn't manage more than 8 days, it was completely exhausting, constantly expressing or feeding. Really do think Pikz is wonderwoman for the expressing she managed!

eliza I don't think you're to blame for E's feeding issues fwiw, I think you've coped with her tube/the rest of it really really well and sometimes I guess these things just happen and she did have the reflux too. I think you've done a fab job of what i'd find really very difficult to deal with

Glad exam went ok lily hope you get the result you're after

definitely think a J cuddle will work wonders yw how sad Sad

How did the dive lesson go mm?

ooh sounds like a bloody good night there fruit

glad the bug has gone vq really hoping you don't see another for a veeery long time

Hopefully O won't have forgotten how to sleep det and he's just having a shitty day

sounds like a lovely walk yw

pass if it started before your holiday it's hopefully just a phase? E keeps having them but they do not last long - he is currently on a 'waking up early in the morning' phase. If you leave her to it does she cry properly or just whinge and moan? I have found sometimes E will MMMmmmmm MMMmmmm himself to sleep, he tosses and turns and mmmoooommmmmMMMmmmmm's to himself but ends up dropping off after a few minutes.

E has walked 6 steps in a row now. Think I might've said that already but I can't remember :S

is Izzy Ok? And Luis and Catbag have disappeared as quickly as they reappeared! Hope you're all ok guys

Sophiathesnowfairy · 12/10/2013 20:07

chasing could you fashion a meeting with said deputy head?

pass self settling in our house consists of popping baby in cot and dealing with other children. By the time everyone sorted baby asleep. Confused
