Fx WL!! I'm all coldy again today. Both dc cried at being woken up but were happy by the time we left. Now to get some lunch!

WLmum · 08/10/2013 15:51

My god a child has been hit by a car in my village. I feel sick.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/10/2013 15:59

Oh WL that's awful Sad

2blessed · 08/10/2013 18:34

Awful news WL.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you on the job front.

WLmum · 08/10/2013 20:00

Phew, news is that the little girl that was hit is not seriously injured.

jackandjilly · 08/10/2013 20:03

That's awful WL have you heard anymore? Hope they are ok.

Fx on the job front

Well I have been back at work a grand total of 5 weeks and today I resigned! No one particular reason, just feel I can't juggle everything and do each thing justice. I'm not actually making any money, just holding my job for longer term. I will worry about it in a few years time.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/10/2013 20:05

Good news WL Smile

Envy Jack good for you

WillYouDoTheMonsterMash · 08/10/2013 20:11

Glad to hear it WL. FX on the job.

Wowzer Jack

DP is entering his 14th hour at work or he's left me and has a 14 hour headstart don't worry I'd still hunt him down

Today J has been in the wars. One of his favourite things to do is push the clothes airer around and today he shoved it over and it collapsed, trapping his fingernail. He then pulled the radio over onto his other hand. He cannot be trusted for a second.

jackandjilly · 08/10/2013 20:13

Cross post WL, that's good news.

Barbeasty · 08/10/2013 20:37

Also Envy jackandjilly. Just waiting for my numbers to be drawn on the lottery....

WL good news and fingers crossed.

I got to MIL's today to pick the DC up and A was asleep on her lap. She was telling me about how he's definitely ill, not been himself etc. Then he woke up and had a feed.... all smiles and absolutely fine.

DD is just confusing with her imaginary games. It's so hard keeping track of what she insists she's called each day. Normally various cousins, with a sister who has her name. Last night she slept on the floor with a duvet wrapped around her to be a sleeping bag for her sleepover. DH says she woke 4 times (I still got the worse deal with A!)

halestone · 08/10/2013 21:25

WL i hope the little girl recovers quickly.

I spoke to soon this morning, H has been a nightmare with crying i've gave her Calpol, Anbesol, ice cubes for her teeth pieces of cucumber. But shes screamed and clung to me i havn't eaten as she won't leave my arms. I feel so sorry for her i don't know whats up and i feel abit guilty for feeling angry at all the crying. Shes finally fell asleep in my arms but everytime i try to lie her down she wakesHmm Looking like another long night tonight.

Willyou that sounds like a day with my DS Grin. DS has pulled the washing airer on himself, last week he upturned a watering can - which he thought was brilliant and he keeps manoeuvring to sitting on the changing table at the momentConfused I do my best to change him super fast (while he is scratching at sore bits & I'm trying to distract him with something) with his legs hanging off the change table so he can't use them for pushing....

Hales I'm really sorry to hear H has been hard work! Hope she isn't in too much discomfort.

WL fx that little girl gets better fast!

jack well done you! It's not an easy decision to make and follow through.

DS has been super hard today Sad he has refused almost all food. He cried every time he hit his head on anything. He is definitely not well and I feel horrible for getting so wound up at him Confused I feel a bit of a failure that I can't cook and do simple chores because DS keep me busy running around after him.

But in other news, I'm not sure if this is from last week's growth spurt, but DS has started proper crawling! It looks really cute. He still goes back to commando belly crawls if he wants to speed up though Smile although he is still trying to cruise - hence the numerous times he bumps his head on a daily basis.

Utopian and someone else mentioned the dance lesson. They're quite keen on dancing in Germany and we had a few lessons before our mammoth wedding year in 2011 - I think we went to 5 but were invited to 6 or 7....
I also went to a Tupperware party a couple of weeks ago.... It is all a bit 1970s isn't it Wink

WillYouDoTheMonsterMash · 08/10/2013 21:50

Poor H Hales, hope she settles for you.

Yay good news on the crawling Nutella. Our holiday with lots of time crawling on stone flags in bare knees completely cured DS of commando crawling!

Hales I saw this thread and thought of you Grin

DP's still at work, 15 hours and counting! I'm off to bed. Night all.

2blessed · 08/10/2013 21:54

beasty I'm like you waiting for my numbers to come up. Good for you jackandjilly!

WL really pleased to hear that.

hales have you tried ashton & parsons for H? R hasn't been troubled too much by his teeth but a friend of mine swears by it.

2blessed · 08/10/2013 21:57

R and I have just had a singing session and now he's fast asleep next to me in my bed. Fx for the transfer.

WLmum · 08/10/2013 22:30

I don't feel so bad about T and the slug last week now !

hales and nutella sorry about hard work babies, it is awful when they're like that and would literally try the patience of a saint.

jack good for you. That's why I left my proper job after dd1 (although I was making money - foolish woman!). 5 years later I'm ready to try again.

utopian99 · 09/10/2013 08:48

jack good for you! I left my job was pushed when I told them about pg just before O was born, and now run my own practice but am so much happier, and flexible.
That being said I now have enough work we're interviewing babysitters to come and play with O on Mon and Tues afternoons so I have time to get everything I need to run the business done..

utopian99 · 09/10/2013 09:07

Has anyone else deliberately night weaned? Last night was our first - water on hand for drinking and unlimited cuddles rather than boob. He wasn't very happy but wasn't crying his heart out as I never put him down till asleep again but it took an hour! So last night was 8pm-2am, 3-6.45... Not bothered about the lack of sleep but trying to do it for fertility, just wondering how successful anyone else has been?

SpottyTeacakes · 09/10/2013 09:42

Utopian I kind of did as I wouldn't feed him if it was less than four hours and he just stopped waiting. Had he continued I probably would have gone up to six hours then eight etc

PurplePidjin · 09/10/2013 12:50

I did, utopian, we're now getting 6-6:30 with a bumchange and self settle around 2 :)

WillYouDoTheMonsterMash · 09/10/2013 17:40

I did a huge post earlier and it's gone. I cannot be arsed to rewrite it.

DP worked 7am-11:45pm last night, then was on call all night, luckily he didn't get called out. He's not seen J in 2 days. I'm pissed off, he's pissed off and his boss who worked 9-5 yesterday has come in today and said "Oh you shouldn't have done it like that, do it like this." He's not best pleased.

Someone has smashed into a lamppost just around the corner and you can't get anywhere near our house in a car so god know when he'll get home again.

itsMYNutella · 09/10/2013 18:21

willyou I'd be angry too! Honestly, I'd be tempted to say something... But I do know its never easy. DP's boss is a twunt and does a really crap job. Other people DP knows on the same level as his boss say things like "yeah, I don't know how Xstill has a job"Shock

I had an err interesting day. DS is still poorly and I think I might take him to the dr tomorrow. His cough isn't any better and I reckon his throat must be sore because he is refusing all food except fruit purée pouches and soft white bread buttered. Sad

The weekly course we go to finished today, there is a new course starting in two weeks which we will definitely be going to! The lady who runs the course asked how I was and I couldn't stop myself from bursting into tears Sad. I'm so worn out DS is a very active baby and I don't get a break. Winter is coming and people are talking about winter tyres which really doesn't help. She was so lovely and gave me some tips and had promised to email me more info later. I'm going to look for a child minder who can take DS for a couple of days a week. So off to the dr for DS tomorrow and also for me.

SpottyTeacakes · 09/10/2013 18:34

Oh Nutella are you ok? Do you have much of a support network where you are? Baby sitter sounds like a good idea so you can get some 'me time'.

WillYou that's rubbish I hope he gets home soon.

Any ideas on what dp and I can do in London? Going to see Micky Flanagan in two weeks and want to make a day of it....

Fourth try at posting Angry

jackandjilly · 09/10/2013 20:33

Thanks ladies for your kind words and support.

Nutella I feel for you it does sound tough. Hopefully a regular break should help. Let us know how it goes at the doc (hugs)

Will you your dps boss sounds lovely! What a crap situationConfused on your behalf!

Utopian I did night weaning but only had to do it for one night! He was a fast learnerGrin same as you I cuddled plenty and just offered water in a beaker. It wasn't a massive deal for him but I did feel a meanie! He sleeps 12 hours solid now. Fx O sleeps well tonight.

Had dd's first parents evening tonight, I am one proud mummyGrin love my girl!

WLmum · 09/10/2013 21:34

Grrrr I just wrote a long post and lost it.

nutella hope you're ok, some time out sounds like a good idea. Remember, a refreshed mummy is much better than a half dead one!
spotty oh so many things to do - I'd visit a museum or gallery - national portrait, v&a, Tate, Tate modern, etc, walk along the south bank and have a meal, visit the oldest wine bar in London - Gordon's just by embankment station, have a drink in the Punch and Judy overlooking Covent garden square...

I had an email from the job share lady saying her circumstances have changed so its no longer a goer. Harrumph.
