Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I've met some lovely mums at baby group. There are groups within the groups but not cliques. People with similar aged babies tend to sit together (which is good so the older babies aren't clobbering the newborns) but everyone's friendly enough. I tend to think if you don't want to talk to me I don't want to talk to you so I don't let it upset me there (massive change for me as I was such an anxious worrier pre-DS).

My friends and I have a lord of the flies situation going on, we let them govern themselves Grin Not really but we don't get upset/shouty about a bit of hair pulling/shoving as they're all so tiny. It's a oops sorry, he'll get him back next week and move on vibe!

That said the groups I go to are split into non-walkers and steady on their feet, so no marauding 2 year olds. My friend's little boy is not at all like you describe, my nephew is (as BiL spoils him rotten) but luckily as he gets his own way at home he's completely taken aback when other children don't let him get away with it and so is a perfect angel at nursery/play group!

Told you she can sense weakness WL, on your "I-mean-business" days she knuckles under!

SpottyTeacakes · 06/10/2013 10:32

Ds just tried to put his sock on his foot Grin very unsuccessfully!

SpottyTeacakes · 06/10/2013 10:35

Now he's just found a rogue carrot stick from dd's dinner last night (she must have dropped it somewhere we didn't see Wink) and he's crawling around with it in his mouth

jackandjilly · 06/10/2013 11:33

So sorry FOD can't imagine what you are going through. My thoughts are with you.

We have kissing to add to our list of achievements. Awwwww

Barbeasty · 06/10/2013 12:20

A has slept through lunch. But he needs to wake up soon or he won't have time to eat before we leave for his swimming lesson.

But DD won't be going swimming. She came back from church, had some water and a jelly bean, and threw up. Looks like she has what DH had. I'm hoping it's what I had the other week and that I'm not going to go down with something else.

And my arm hurts! I had the flu jab yesterday. So far it's been hit by DD's doll and by A.

SpottyTeacakes · 06/10/2013 13:26

I've got my flu jab next week. I hate jabs!

Poor dp didn't get to his grandad before he passed away Sad

WillYouDoTheMonsterMash · 06/10/2013 13:47

Oh no Spotty, that's really tough. Hopefully DP can remember him as he was not terribly ill in a hospital bed. Thanks For him.

WLmum · 06/10/2013 14:26

Sorry to hear that spotty. Hope dp is ok. Maybe your turn to but him chocolate!

halestone · 06/10/2013 16:15

Spotty sorry to hear about your GFiL hope your all ok. Your in my thoughts and prayersThanks

jackandjilly · 06/10/2013 17:07

Ah spotty thats toughHmm poor dp

Barbeasty · 06/10/2013 17:16

Really sorry to hear that Spotty.

Is your DD having the vaccine? DD had it yesterday too, so I suspect that didn't help with how she is today.

I got home and DH is feeling very guilty. DD felt better so he put her on the swing. He'd just finished cleaning up when I got back from A's swimming lesson, and DD was fast asleep on the sofa.

They missed the lesson where A got thrown in the pool.

SpottyTeacakes · 06/10/2013 17:43

Thanks everyone. Dp seems ok I suppose it helps that it was expected so not a shock.

Beasty no she's not she doesn't have anything that requires her to have it.

itsMYNutella · 06/10/2013 18:23

Spotty sorry to hear that, and sorry for your DP.Thanks

Beasty when you say DH was cleaning up the mess... Was DD not very well on the swing??

DS is driving me potty this evening! He is happy one second, screaming banshee the next (and its about 70% banshee to 30% smiling). He didn't eat much dinner and threw himself around in his high chair. He managed to hit his head on the high chair, more screaming. I wiped his hands apparently too hard because they were covered in dinner, more screaming!
DP cuddled him after I couldn't take it anymore and he did settle down. Then changing for bed.... Ooooohhh that was fun! I'm not sure where teeth end and this growth spurt starts! Shock I just hope it is all over soon.

I'm just putting DS to bed and then I'm going to need a dark quiet room to sit and rock in while repeating the mantra this too shall pass Confused

Barbeasty · 06/10/2013 18:39

Yep. I was warned not to walk on the lawn.... he pushed her on the swing and she was sick. She's come downstairs now, complaining that DH had out her to bed.

Spotty DD doesn't have any factors any more, but they are meant to be vaccinating all 2-3 year olds, so DD came under that.

IsThatTrue · 06/10/2013 18:47

Sorry to hear do didn't get to see his GF spotty I had that with my nan and my auntie.

And I hope dd is better soon barbeasty imagine putting a sick child on a swing Hmm

Well he slept 7-3, 4-6.30 and then sleepy fed in our bed and didn't wake until 7.45!! Hurrah! Now all he has to do is the same again. I can cope with that. (The 7-3 stint is the longest he's ever slept for and therefore the longest I have slept in approx 14 months!)

Things are progressing slowly with my parents house but there's a 75% chance we will be moving into it. Which is great, but the thought of moving is stressing DH out. I'm just trying to declutter as much as possible.

SpottyTeacakes · 06/10/2013 19:07

Beasty I didn't know that? (And I work in a drs surgery Hmm). Off to investigate....

SpottyTeacakes · 06/10/2013 19:43

Hmm was it a nasal spray beasty? Dd hasn't been offered it but then I never do either I have to ask Hmm she has vaccinations in a few weeks so I will ask then

WLmum · 06/10/2013 19:48

spotty I second beasty. My letter says they are doing all children under 5 but starting with 2-3 yos. Dd2 had hers last week with no ill effects.
nutella T absolutely hates being wiped so I just carry her over to the sink and run her hands under the tap and use my wet hand on her face. She's at the great stage of wiping some of every meal on her head and in her hair, so my wet hand goes over that too.
isthat that's great sleep - fx its the new pattern! L

WLmum · 06/10/2013 19:48

Yep dd2 had nasal spray.

SpottyTeacakes · 06/10/2013 19:55

Hmm I don't understand why I haven't heard anything

Barbeasty · 06/10/2013 20:37

Yep, nasal spray. Really quick and easy and let me jump the queue

2blessed · 06/10/2013 23:54

Night all , not posted in a while been a bit busy prepping for going back to work.

FOD that's really shitty about your cat.

Beasty once again I love yout tales of your DD, breastfeeding her doll and MNing at the same time... Hope everyone feels better soon.

spotty sorry for you and DP's loss.

R is getting more confident standing unaided and I'm sure he took a step before stumbling into me on friday but hasn't done it since Confused. He's on really good form at the moment, think he'll be ok in nursery.

SpottyTeacakes · 07/10/2013 06:57

Why are both my children still asleep?! I got woken up my next door's music Hmm

Ds is nowhere near standing unaided although he has let go of the sofa a few times; he just fell straight back and hit his head...

halestone · 07/10/2013 09:06

2blessed when do you start back at work?

I'm in shock H fell asleep at 10:20 last night, woke at 7:15 this morning. I changed her bum and she fell asleep while i was doing it. Shes just cried now so i have given her a bottle and shes back asleep.
