Fingers crossed for you Killa xx

How are you feeling Engels?

So, anyone got any good, EASY Halloween costume ideas? L was an owl last year (featuring her fabulous Dolly Pegs hat!), and I'd love to do another home made outfit but don't have much time.

I'm on holiday now for our October break and the house packing is about to start in earnest. Unfortunately DH and I are suffering with bad colds - sounds very pathetic but we both feel horrendous!! We just need to man up now though and get on with it.

Not feeling too bad thanks mrsh - last time the nausea kicked in at 6 weeks and I felt rubbish till week 12. Am 6 weeks today so hoping things will be different this time round!

M is celebrating his last day of being 1 by having little tantrums. Just picked up some new wellies and he started screaming in the shop because he didn't want to put his shoes back on, or new wellies...so was in the buggy with no shoes on on this autumnal day.

No ideas for Halloween....we won't dress M up but I have a Halloween party at school in the afternoon so need my best Zombie face on.

Thank you everyone all is fine Grin. There was something looking remarkably like a jellybean in there with a heart beating away. All spot on for dates so can relax now.

No idea for Halloween am struggling with birthday cake ideas for Wednesday and it's our first wedding anniversary on Friday haven't planned anything so I'm panicking! X

Glad to hear everything's alright killa, what a relief.
Have a look on the tesco party website - loads of stuff on there including a fab toddler Darth Vader costume I have to get N for his nursery Halloween party Grin

Our 1st wedding anniversary was over a week ago and we've still done nothing. Family fallings out (over a ridiculously misunderstood text) meant we had nobody to babysit. DH is going to have a word with MIL and try to get something sorted and try to get a couple of evenings out before our little kicker arrives. I'm so glad I'm due just before Christmas. We have the perfect excuse to stay home this year and avoid yet more IL family drama. And people wonder why I moved so far from my own family!!

Looks like I spoke too soon. Little bean wasn't so sticky after all Sad

On M's birthday as well but at least I could give him an extra big cuddle tonight before bed.

I really have to get myself down to the fancy dress shop or raid the drama cupboard for Hallowe'en.

I'm so sorry Engels. Have you been in hospital?

Be kind to yourself and I hope you are being well looked after.

Hope M had a nice birthday! xxx

IBelieveInEngels · 15/10/2013 20:17

No hospital but bleeding all day and exactly the same as the last mc I had (also at 6 weeks). Spoke to mw and she thought it sounded like a mc. Will take a pg test next week to make sure.

M had a great birthday. He got to play all day at nursery, they made him a crown, I let him eat cheese scones for breakfast, he didn't nap so was a bit of a horror this evening, pizza and profiteroles for tea and lots of birthday cards and shiny new cars to play with. He went to bed a very happy boy.

I am now curled up on the sofa MNing while DH plays with our new TV package. And really looking forward to the rest of my week off!

Good to hear that things are ok killa

Hope the family stuff sorts itself ips and you get your night out. Family are a real pain sometimes.

Think W was just having a bad dream! Was startled out of watching bake off by him yelling No,no over the baby monitor and flinging his arms about! He settled down again without us going in so not too bad.

Aww Engels, sorry to hear that Sad. Have a relaxing week off work ( hard I know with a 2 year old!) Thanks
Glad M had a lovely birthday!

Glad all well killa Smile

Birthdays are coming thick and fast now!! I still find it crazy that I have a 2 year old. How did that happen? Grin

We are staying at my mums tonight. I was out with friends for my birthday and they are closer to town so cheaper on a taxi. Listening to S snoring away beside me Smile. Ill second what you said pen about the long conversations. The things she's saying now are unreal. Her imagination has def taken a huge leap forward in the past few weeks. She has a thing for picnics (?) and every day puts a blanket out in the hall, brings out her doll and teddies, candles(!!!) and other random items then sits down looking all happy with herself. It's really cute as she's talking away whilst she goes about her business. I honestly don't think my heart can love her anymore

Engles so sorry to hear that.

Glad to hear all the birthdays are going well so far. Loving seeing all the cakes.

Keep thinking of things to mention on here and then forget it by the time I log on! Seb counted to 10 (correctly, not missing any numbers out) on his own this week! He's got a book of words and can tell me most of them from the pictures. He's still not got the hang of colours though. Everything is 'reen' still, then 'lello'. Sometimes he doesn't look before guessing! We got a guess of 'not-reen' once Grin.

Pene we're sticking to the North Island, how much will we be able to see in two weeks? We have the first two days in Auckland then pick up the camper for 2 weeks and have got the wedding in Tarunga in the middle. Looking into hotels for Hong Kong and Auckland at the moment. Anyone got any suggestions?

Decided against lugging a car seat about but think we will get a CARES seat restraint for the plane instead. They don't seem overly available here but look quite good (if not cheap).

Morning all.

Well, the terrible twos are here! We have had three crazy tantrums since Tuesday - all just before breakfast or dinner. DH and I ended up in fits of hysterics at the dinner table on Tuesday - M was obviously straving and overtired. When he finished throwing himself around he attacked his bread like he was possessed. From now on we will rate the hungriest level of hunger as "Satan hungry" Grin

Took myself out for some retail therapy on Wednesday so that I can look chic through the winter (lovely winter coat and some thick tights so I can stay in dresses).

I have to decide what to do about the 15k I was training for. I stopped when I got pg so have now had 2-3 weeks with no training and the race is in a month. Think I should bite the bullet and give ii a go (which means I have to go running today!).

All pg symptoms are gone and bleed has almost finished. Will take a test next week to be sure but..well...I'm sure that it's gone. Able to feel a bit more matter-of-fact about it now, just couldn't on Tuesday when it was actually happening. Now trying to look forward (and remember that 2months after I had my last mc I got pg with M!).

Tally I would definitely make sure you go to Taupo (one of my favourite places in NZ) and up to the Bay of Islands and 90 mile beach (and of course down to Wellington to see pen !).

And am exhausted in a nice way from the stream of chatter that comes out of M's mouth.

Our trip to the zoo yesterday (half term birthday treat as DH was also free) went something like thi...

"Bus! Car! Lorry! Motorbike! Tree! Cow! Sheep! Bird! Cloud! Careful! Kiss! Mama! Papa! Book! I see you! Shoe! Sock! Trousers! Water!" For 30 minutes.

God love him Smile

I'm sorry to hear the bad news engels (((big hug)))
Soundls like M had a lovely birthday - his chatter sounds just like N. this morning on the way to nursery we had ...
"tractor!tractor! car, bike, lights, 'reen (not got the hang of red or yellow yet!), LOOKLOOK!, horses, 2 (his favourite number!), porridge" (that was on arrival at nursery). i love their chatter, it's too cute for words :)

family are still being crap (well, one family member in particular), but MIL is now keeping out of it and babysitting tonight so me and DH can have our anniversary meal (yay!), and it's at our favourite place that do a truly awesome sticky toffee pudding (drool!!!)

I realise this is a minor problem but I'm really pissed off that the only nice dress I have that fits has bastard bleach marks on :(
Wore it for a christening a month ago and I remember the baby change facilities smelling strongly of bleach but thought nothing of it. Now I will be going out tonight wearing a navy dress with pink splotches. Great. Looking for a navy marker pen to try n colour in the worst of it.
I'm so annoyed and been looking forward to this all day and its a lush dress when it's on too. Hope the restaurant is nice nd dimly lit so nobody notices!
Ok rant over. As you were :)

Ipswitch could you die it navy again? Dylon washing machine dyes are good. Have done it for some housekeeper work t-shirts that had bleach on and it worked a treat. no help for your dinner out though

Good idea Killa!

How is everyone? We are still the house of the lurgy! On the mend now though.

Anyone else have a wee one with a film/tv programme obsession? L has watched The Wizard of Oz about 20 times, in a WEEK!!! She saw it for the first time on Friday night (when DH and I were both feeling awful and needed something to help get through the evening!), and between us all being ill and bad weather, not to mention tantrums from L, she's now seen it that often!

Ips, I was about to suggest the dye for your dress. Hope you had a lovely meal Thanks

Mrsh, S really enjoys watching films now. She doesn't watch tv much so I don't feel guilty about putting something on for her to watch. We have had such a lazy day today and watch Aladdin twice along with strictly and X factor results Blush.

My turn to moan. The job I got offered a few months ago, I was wondering why I hadn't heard anything back yet as I filled out forms, PVG etc back at start of sept. planned to phone tomorrow but happened to get a letter yesterday from the HR dept. the bloomin PVG form hasn't even been sent yet! They seem to think I still have it and was sending a reminder to get it away, but I filled it in in front of them and they were to send it off Angry. I'm so annoyed as it will be another 4 weeks or so now till I get it back. Ill be lucky to get any work now before Christmas at this rate!!!

M hums the bob the builder theme tune randomly and shouts either THOMAS! BOB THE BUILDER! Or SCOOBY DOO! everytime I turn the tv on Blush

Had M's birthday party today so all cream crackered here. Mostly adults, though DH's friends with 3 boys under 6 came late in the afternoon and swept through our house like a tornado - I really don't know how they cope (my money's on lots of gin).

Get well soon MrsH.

That's awful duck how rubbish of them not to have sent it. Hope it gets sorted soon.

mrsH W usually asks for Pat, Tumble or Night. (Postman pat, Mr Tumble aka something special or In the night garden) although we only let him have Night as part of his bedtime routine. He doesn't stop for long enough to make it through a film! I've found a good way of stopping him watching too much Pat (his favourite) is to have some Pat books and offer those instead - it works at least half the time and he's learnt now that I won't always put the tv on for him. He watches most first thing in the morning while he's waking up and we are getting ready for the day
