Retested Friday and a very obvious line so as long as it sticks 5w 2mrw! Obviously early days but Grin

How exciting about nz Tallulah ! We flew through HK on tge way there but were delayed jn Ams so didn't do more than run to the transfer desk then run to the gate. Who are you flying with?
You are not mad! I am very jealous Envy

Ended up taking M to out of hours gp yesterday as he was running temp of 40.5. Of course the little blighter perked upand was running round like a loon by the time we got there. Still has a temp of 39, 1 this morning but perkier.

ARGH!!!!!

I've been up since 2.45AM with L, she dozed on me till 4.30am then was up for the day with bigs shouts of "C'mon Mummy!". I've been singing, dancing, feeding, playing since then. I just woke up DH to look after her while I had a shower, 5 minutes later, I'm out of the shower and she's FAST ASLEEP on daddy's shoulder.

I could cry.

And DH is off to work in 30mins so just as she's waking up he'll be waving goodbye and I'll have to face the day on 3.5 hours sleep.

I repeat...ARGH!!!!!

Oh no mrsh !

M has been asleep on me for the last half an hour. I'm trapped on the sofa!

MrsH Oh no, that's typical. Fingers crossed she'll have another nap later and you can grab 40 winks.

Engles We're going Cathay Pacific but the NZ leg both ways is with Air New Zealand. Hope they're both good with grumpy toddlers, lol! 5 hours to Cyprus was not much fun! He will at least have his own seat and be catered for. Think we're going to get a cheap car seat to use on the plane so it's more comfortable and we can use in the camper as well. How was M on the flights and with jetlag?
Oh and Grin, looks hopeful.

Congratulations Pene. How are things?

And congratulations Engels. How very exciting. Btw, unfortunately I'm nowhere near you. I am in fact as far away as possible, even further east than Berlin.

Birthdays are coming thick and fast here now, ey. We've still got more than a month left.

F is being both hilarious and infuriating at the moment. He's talking so much and repeats everythings his sister says. But my word is that boy stubborn. I have no idea where he gets it from, I'm the biggest push over in the world. Even in nursery they commented on him being rather "strong willed" Hmm

I'm sick of feeling big and fat so have started my new exercise regime (Davina DVD) tonight. I am now shaking.

Have a good evening all!

Things are going well thanks Smile Lily is a delight and while I don't want to get my hopes up that it will last, has slept really well the past few nights, only 1 wake between 11ish and 8ish. So, I actually feel better with a 10 day-old than I've felt in ages as I don't have that bone tiredness anymore.

M is still ill Sad Had temp of over 40 again during the day and had dipped a little this morning but made him an appt wth our GP this afternoon anyway as it's still too high. Glad I did because it's gone up again. Doesn't look like I'll be going to work tomorrow at this rate.

Tallulah we found Air NZ were brill - both of our flights weren't full with them and they gave us the bulk head seats with an extra one between us (we hadn't paid for a seat for M). I think a car seat is a great idea - will keep him contained, if he's sleeping it'll be easier for you to sleep (M slept for 8 hours from Ams to HK but I couldn't sleep with him on me) and it means you don't have to wonder what's happened to a renatl car seat (M barfed on ours 3 times. I did wash it but doubt whoever had it before us did!). We flew KLM out of Europe and I was not impressed wit them, but maybe oit was just circumstances (both our KLM flights were chockfull and we were delayed on the tarmac in sweltering temperatures out of Shanghai as they had to throw someone off the plne and we missed our take off slot).

M dealt fine with jet lag. He slept for between 6 and 8 hours on 3 out of our 4 long flights. I was the one with the problem as on the outward leg I only managed 1 hour of sleep over 2 flights.

Trudy thought I'd ask! Would be a novelty having someone on the thread a short drive away. I ahd to go to NZ to see Pen for a MN meet up Grin However, there's someone on my new ante-natal thread who is relocating to Amsterdam so you never know. I may get my Dutch MN meet up after all!

I was swearing by the Shred to shift the baby weight last year and have just stopped running with my running partner as we were training hard for a race (that I now have to drop out of) and I think I need to do something a bit gentler now. Weighed myself yesterday and I'm still 3kg heavier than my pre-pg weight of early 2011. Annoyed that I didn't manage to get it down befoire getting pg again. Still, have been training this year for races so feeling pretty fit even if I'm not light as a feather.

Supposed to be a BM at my best friend's wedding next October though. I looked rather full in the face when I was a BM a year after M was born...so what the hell will I look like only 4months post-partum!

Pen It must be quite an adjustment for A. Glad to hear that things are going well with L. A lot of people say the 2nd is easier unless you have twins

Okay, epic post (in fact, looking back on this thread I do post far too much!). I know I should get on with some ironing or schoolwork now (just popped M in bed) but cba.

Engels Hope M feels better soon. Oh, and if you are looking after a sick child, it is actually against the law to iron Wink

I liked the Shred too but find Davina more challenging (I know I'm alone on this one)

Fingers crossed for your Dutch meet-up!

Pene That sounds like fantastic sleep patterns. Long may they continue. As for A, he might just be doing his best terrible two impression and might have done even without L there. So nursery expected you to pick him up over a tantrum?

Sounds like L is a great sleeper pen glad things are going well. I would not be impressed with nursery calling me to collect over a tantrum though!
I'm sure A will soon get used to his new home set up he looked very pleased with L in the fb photo anyway!

Fantastic news Engels!!!! When are you due aprox?

Mrsh, how annoying Confused. S has started waking at 5.30am and comes into my bed which is fine but very rarely does she go back to sleep and is such a fidget that I don't sleep either!! I usually give up and by 6am she has her DVD player on with peppa pig so I can get just half hr more Blush. I might try tomorrow putting her back to her own bed but I'm sure this will just result in tears

I've arranged to meet up with S dad in a few weeks. I had a bit of a meltdown over it last week and came close to telling him to forget everything and leave us alone. He text the day before her birthday asking when he could see her to give presents but nothing on her actual birthday and def no 'happy birthday, hope she's had a lovely day!' Angry I mentioned it and he said he had no texts left on his phone and so she's not worth the extra 12p. But I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and said he can see her for a few hours. I'm really nervous about it but I'm just going to try put my negative feelings to the side. Easier said than done. Another thing, how do I introduce him to S? No way am I calling him dad yet, so maybe 'S, this is mummy's friend...'?

Mrsh M has come into our room for the last 2 nights. Scared the life out of me at 4am this morning!

The nursery called as it wasn't a tantrum as such - he'd been inconsolable for about 30 mins, crying and really upset, and they couldn't calm him down. I think they called as it was out of character - it's happened once before though, and last time I could hear him crying from outside the building it was so loud! He never used to cry like that, it happened at home the other day as well when his cousin (2.5) hit him, and he cried like the world was ending. I wonder if it's just a release to all the conflicting emotions he's feeling. Kinda like when I am hormonal and watch a sad movie like Lion King and end up crying, then feel better afterward. I hope so anyway! He is SO clingy to me though, poor boy.

Engels you may not put on as much weight this time? I didn't due to chasing A around.

Duck Maybe just don't say what relationship he is to you at all, just his name? I have such a complicated family with step-sisters and cousins that aren't biological relatives and biological cousins that were adopted so my legal uncles and a step-niece that lives with my mum so we tend not to specify relationships at all. Or you could just give him a name like 'the loser' and see if she uses it tee hee

Ended up putting side back on M's bed at 1am last night as he got out of bed and shuffled into ours 6 times! If I could work out how to stop him hitting me in the face with a cuddly toy at midnight I would have let him stay in with us Grin

Am looking forward to having a proper night's sleep for the first time since Thursday!

Hello all! Massive congrats to pen - Lily is a lovely name -- and to engels too Thanks

I'm now 30 weeks and massive! Having major heartburn, swelling legs and feet and also anaemic so I'm shattered. Both me and N have just got over a nasty bout of tonsillitis, but thankfully we were well again for his birthday Friday. I've manage to buy him the most irritating toy ever - a toy kitchen with "realistic" noises, damn thing sounds like its going to take off every time he turns the hob on! Think it may need to go the journey and I'll invest in a less irritating version :) he also got a Doc mcStuffins doll that he adores. Keeps putting her on the potty and announcing that she's having a wee Grin

Potty training is sort of under way. He knows what to do and what it's for, and will happily follow us to the toilet and sit on his potty shouting "wee!" or "poo!" enthusiastically. The only thing he won't do is take the nappy off while he's on it! He is actually having a wee while sitting on it though so I guess we're one step away from him using it properly.

His speech has come on leaps and bounds since moving to the 2-3 yr olds room at nursery. Sleep is not great - waking 1/2 times a night and still needs us to hold his hand to get back to sleep. We were doing gradual withdrawal but can't seem to get past the holding hand stage in order to move away. Frankly I'm too tired to put any real effort into it! He seems to be having nightmares too -waking up really scared and needing cuddles before going back to bed again.

Only 6 weeks left to work (and counting!) can't wait :)

I think I would have to "lose" that toy ips!

Took side off M's bed again last night and he stayed in, though came in at 8 this morning to get me out of bed!

Half term here now so can breathe easy. Lots to do, both in house and work for school. Going to try and keep busy and keep my mind off the 5 week wait till my scan Smile

Fx for you killa

Eew at poo eating eng I assume you declined his kind offer Grin

Has everyone else found that the little ones are suddenly not so little anymore! It really hit me when I went to collect W from nursery on Friday and he was upstairs with the under two group how big he looked and how much he's talking now (he spends most of his time in the older group now although he's not 2 til the end of the month)

Hope the bleeding comes to nothing Killa

Lol at M trying to eat his own poo. A lunged at his in a nappy a while ago yelling "peanut butter" and we had to have a talk about how they may look similar, they're not

Arg I always hated that "secret" stage of pregnancy, and it seems cruel that the first trimester is the stage when with the nausea I wanted to tell people the most to explain why I was eating crisps non stop at work!

A is starting to act like such a 2 year old! He wants to do everything himself, every third word is no, and we end up having the longest conversations about the funniest of things - yesterday it was about trucks being asleep. So cute.

Baby L is sooo windy at present, does anyone have any tips? I never had this problem with A really

Hope all is well tomorrow killa, I'll be keeping everything crossed for you.

Envy (sick face) at poo eating engels. They're adorable but so disgusting at the same time Grin

Had some progress in potty training - just letting him decide what he's doing really anyway. Yesterday he said "i want a wee" and fetched his potty. I asked it'll he wanted his nappy off and he said yes. He did the smallest micro wee ever in his potty so I clapped and was all enthusiastic, he was chuffed and got all excited then promptly weed all over the carpet! Bless him, he did help clean up though!!
