Definitely stopping - and the relief I feel just confirms it's the right decision!! Hooray for nappies again!!

How did the brace coming off go Killa?

CallingAllEngels · 15/08/2014 12:05

After 3 horrible days we gave up. Were on holiday this week and couldn't face it. Trying to make a conscious eff, ort tosit him on potty after eating drinking and will be moving to pull ups once have used up our stock of nappies. Only improvment this week is he has mostly told us when he has done a poo (instead of running away and hiding).

Should be celebrating our wedding anniversray today but had booked meal for next week as couldn't get a baby sitter today. Just found out that MIL has to go to a funeral so we don't have a babysitter for dinner or our 20week scan on Monday. Trying to ring round and see we can find someone, otherwise DH can't come to the scan. DH would like to go to funeral but it's the other side of the country and no way he'd get back in time.

And just heard from my DF that my granny passed away Sad so will need to sort leave from first week at work and travel as well.

It never rains but it pours, eh?

PenelopeLane · 17/08/2014 21:55

Oh no engels hope you're ok Thanks

CallingAllEngels · 18/08/2014 07:19

I'm fine thanks pen . FIL decided he didn't want to drive to funeral today as too far (he wanted DH to do it) so DH drove them to the wake last night instead. SIL had agreed to babysit for our scan, but MIL is home now so can do it. Just need to wait for my dgm's funeral date to be confirmedmso I can book flight and request leave (hoping my school ismokay as mid week somcan see myself having to take 3 days.

M waking up up every morning by shouting, "I've done a poo!" Which is a big step for him as he used to just hide and deny pooping.

CheshireDing · 18/08/2014 23:04

Sorry to hear about your Gran Engels Flowers

Week 3 of new job and definitely made the right decision so far, it's super chilled out. Glad i didn't go back to my old company now. Daddy Daycare seems to be going well so far too Grin. We accepted an offer on our house and put 2 offers on others, one rejected (which we expected) and one we are waiting to hear back on (so still looking at other stuff tentatively). The cat left a mouse head in the kitchen this morning and M Has a massive snot nose which wakes him up all night so spend a lot of time trying to hide my yawning by the afternoon at work !

I hope bumps are all ok.

So pleased to h e ar J got his brace off killa he looks so big on fb photo in the sling too :)

KillashandraRee · 19/08/2014 08:12

Morning all bloomin phone keeps telling me there's no updates then I log into computer and see there are lots!

Engels how was your scan? Sorry to hear about your grandmother Thanks

MrsH brace coming off was fine and J is LOVING the freedom. A much happier baby (and he was really chilled or beforehand!) off to hospital for another scan today to make sure nothing has regressed.

Cheshire I don't seem to breed small babies....J is following in E's footsteps and is filling 3-6 month clothes already Sad because of his brace he hasn't been able to wear any of his newborn or 0-3 stuff it's really sad, like I've skipped that bit.

CallingAllEngels · 19/08/2014 20:33

Scan went well thanks. Baby is kicking away, but still finding it hard to believe I'm only half way through!

Booked my flight even though I still haven't heard from my line manager to okay the leave. Will mean I get 2 nights sleep at my mum and dad's without running after a toddler so will actually get some time to myself for a change.

Sounds busy at your end chesh . Is DH being a sahd permanently then?

J looks so happy and giggly killa . I can't wait to actually have a baby again..just wish I could fast forward through the next time months and labour

CallingAllEngels · 21/08/2014 07:12

M had the mother of all tantrums yesterday when I picked him up from nursery. Had to drag him kicking and screaming across the road and into the house. All because he wanted to stay and play with the new train set (even though he has 2 train sets at home).

Trudyla · 21/08/2014 08:21

Congratulations on all the babies and bumps! I haven't been on for a while (what's new)

F is going through a terrible phase at the moment. He's just changed groups at nursery and is with the 3-5 year olds now (including his sister) and it seems to take it out of him. He is exhausted and my word, does he want me to pay for it.

EVERY thing is a fight, putting on a sock, a shoe, knickers, jumpers, washing hands, sitting on the loo, flushing, reading a book, watching peppa pig, you get the idea.

I'm really losing my patience and keep uttering "it's just a bloody phase". His sister never had such agressive tantrums with kicking and screaming, she would just bust into tears, so this is all new to me.

Sorry for the me post. Just thought I'd share.

How is potty training going everyone?

Are all your babies (sorry toddlers) in big beds now? F is still in his cot and I don't want to change it. Do I have to?

Lots of love!

strawberrypenguin · 21/08/2014 10:29

Glad your scan went ok eng

W is still in his cot trudy he seems quite happy so we're leaving it for now. Might have to change to a big bed soon though as he's getting bloody heavy to lift in and out!

TallulahPumpkin · 22/08/2014 00:18

Hi all,
Been a while since I've been on here. Just skimmed the last few posts so sorry if I've missed anything important.
On holibobs in the lake district at the moment.
Guess what? It happened, it's taken almost three years....We were out for a pub meal. A miscalculation and last minute nappy change meant that we were out with only one nappy. Normally only use one so not too worried. Big mistake. Three poos later.... On second poo change, no spare nappy, kneeling on the floor of the pub toilet cubicle, trying to scrape poo out of S's nappy and off his bum to re-use when... his heel goes in pile of poo and manages to spread it all over my jeans! Big old splat right across my leg. I can't believe it's not happened before. And it would be while we're on holiday!
S is in a bed now. He loves it although he's fallen asleep by the door a few times. He doesn't look as tiny in a standard single bed as I thought.

KillashandraRee · 22/08/2014 07:44

Oh tally! Poo incidents are too common here I'm afraid.

Engels so glad scan went well. I've found having a second baby is so much easier than being pregnant with a toddler. Fingers crossed the next twenty weeks fly by.

Trudy we've been in a big bed for ages but it does mean E gets out of bed and plays with all his toys rather than go to sleep.

We're on week two of no nappies and still have accidents but he has started to recognise when he needs a wee so we're sticking with it unless my washing machine gives up

strawberrypenguin · 29/08/2014 20:03

Well it seems like there is still hope for potty training even after you give up! Yesterday at nursery W took himself to the toilet, threw his pull up in the bin and told his key worker he didn't want to wear pull ups any more! So the sensible woman said 'ok' an he spent the day in just his trousers, he went in wearing pants today too and has only had a couple of accidents over both days! Stubborn little so and so, I knew he could do it if he wanted!
Hope everyone had a lovely bank holiday weekend (seems ages ago now!)

KillashandraRee · 02/09/2014 09:20

Strawberry that's great. Has he carried on?
We seem to have cracked it here, no nappies apart from night time for three weeks and we now have very few accidents, most days he's brilliant. I just gave to remind him if he's absorbed in playing with friends.

Looking forward to E being at pre-school two days from next week he's being quite challenging at the moment. Confused

CallingAllEngels · 03/09/2014 19:23

Great news strawb

M is finally starting to recognise and tell me when he has done a poo or wee and getting more in the potty.

But I'm really struggling with pg atm so am in no rush if he's not.

KillashandraRee · 04/09/2014 06:04

Oh Engels what's wrong? It's tough being pregnant with a toddler. X

strawberrypenguin · 04/09/2014 10:26

He's sort of stuck to it killa sometimes he asks for a nappy on in the morning so I've decided to just follow his cues and that he will do it at a pace he is comfortable with, he's normally in pants by the afternoon though. We have discovered that he doesn't like the potty so we've got him a toilet seat and step that he's much happier using and he likes to do it without help!

Thanks and Brew for you eng sorry your having a tough time

CallingAllEngels · 04/09/2014 21:10

Struggling physically. Feel so heavy and so big and am only 23 weeks! Was planning on working till 36 weeks like last time but may have to rethink and stop at 34.

BP is still low and have blood test tomorrow as iron is low. Going back to work was a total killer this week especially after the week before with having to go back to uk for funeral.

Mw measured me and said everyhting looks great so baby is fine, my body is just taking a real battering this time round. With M I was walking up hills at 6 months pg , faster than dh. No chance of that this time!

And I just want to eat cake...ALL THE TIME!

Can't believe I still have over 3 and a half months to go!

strawberrypenguin · 06/09/2014 20:41

Just put W to bed in a proper bed for the first time, we're on holiday and there's no cot, we did take the chance and not bring our travel one as we knew there were enough beds. He looks settled so just have to hope he stays there (more worried about him falling out than getting up!)

CallingAllEngels · 06/09/2014 20:56

Good luck strawb !

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 06/09/2014 21:28

Evening ladies. Have been reading along but just not had time to post anything!
ThanksWineBrew To all potty training! It's hard but by sounds of it, they are all getting there!!!
Eng maybe the low iron is causing you to feel so rotten. Have they put you on supplements? I always have low iron and know how crappy it can be. Go eat cake!!!!

Mrsh, when are you due?

Hope everyone is well! 24 days till S turns 3. Oh.my.god Shock

It's unbelievable isn't it duck ?! M said to me when I put him to bed, "And soon it's my birthday, isn't it mama?".

What's everyone getting for birthdays? We have him a few smaller bits rather than one big present: Gruffalo dressing up costume, Julia Donaldson book and colouring book and a Doctor Seuss book.

I know my mum wants to buy him a balance bike.

Had a blood test Friday duck and they'll get back to me this week.

M is now telling us every time he's done a wee or poo so he recognises the sensation now. Maybe time to try again.

TallulahPumpkin · 07/09/2014 20:57

We are rapidly approaching this thread's first birthday! Come on girls....!

Straw How did W get on in the bed?. When we're away we tend to put a mattress on the floor so he can't fall far. He will get out not matter what we do! Hope you're enjoying your holibobs. Where are you?

Engles we're also just got a few little things: remote control lightning McQueen, bigish toy tractor, cup and straw thing (better than it sounds!), Hmm I can't think what else.... It's dumped placed lovingly in the spare room. He's got a balance bike but he just sits on it and asks to be pushed! Same with his scooter. He tends to get bored by the end of the drive (we took it for a walk on friday Hmm)

TallulahPumpkin · 07/09/2014 20:59

btw, when I refer to our drive, I don't mean a sweeping 'Downton Abbey' type drive, I mean one the length of our car, maybe another metre. And it takes him about 5 mins to get there Grin.

KillashandraRee · 08/09/2014 08:06

Tallulah Grin at downton abbey drive!
