Glad you enjoyed NZ Tallulah, where did you go in the end?

Engels I can't wait until the DC are old enough for hikes and things! We tried one a couple of weeks ago, it was fabulous for the first 90 mins but during the last hour the whinging made me want to pull off my ears.

TallulahPumpkin · 06/05/2014 22:05

Oh bum, just did a big post and stupid computer lost it all!

Engles erm, they were fun!

Pen we didn't get as far as we'd hoped. Had a few days in Auckland (loved it) and Waiheke Island (loved it), then picked up the camper and headed north to Baylys Beach and Waipoua forest, then over and down to Whangeri, then back through Auckland to Waihi Beach (loved it) via a cool gorge. Then down to Tauranga for the wedding. Then Hobbiton (very cool), Rotorua, then up to the Coromandel (Cathedral Cove, Hot Water Beach, Driving Creek railway and Coromandel town) (loved them). Then back to Auckland and home Sad. I was ready to go home by that time though.

TallulahPumpkin · 11/05/2014 12:26

Did I break the thread?

CallingAllEngels · 11/05/2014 12:56

Testing, testing. Still works!

Happy mothers' day to pen and everyone else celebrating today. Have just been round to see ILs for coffee and giveMIL flowers. M gave me a card he made at nursery and some jewellery I bought myself but the best present was a whole night uninterrupted sleep. Smile

PenelopeLane · 11/05/2014 22:30

Sounds like a good trip Tallulah. Any tips for the plane trip? We are off to Samoa in a few days so will have a four hour trip there. Hmmmm. Hope it's not too painful, although it's nothing compared to the UK/NZ flight I'm sure!

You saw a nice part of the country Smile Although I haven't actually been to Hobbiton to my shame ...

Hope you had a nice mothers' day too engels! Mine was OK. I ended up getting overtired and having a massive sulk though about not having enough time to myself! Feel better today after a good sleep but just had one of those weekends when we were really busy doing boring things, DH has been working away a lot too which has meant much less time for both of us to get real downtime. That working period is over now though and off to the tropics in a few days, which I am really excited about as need a holiday!

CallingAllEngels · 12/05/2014 08:49

Have fun pen. Supposed to be summer here but temp has dipped and lots of rain.

If I was travelling with DS now I would say lots of books and a handful of cars and a handpuppet. At the time we travelled last year he just wasn't interested, except in the handpuppet which was a godsend!

CheshireDing · 12/05/2014 12:24

Ooh lovely pene will have a look at fb pics. We did BLW with P and she used to eat like a horse ! Now she is more selective but not fussy, she will always try stuff. M is going to start this week now too as he is 5.5 months and very interested when we are eating, plus i am hoping it might help him sleep longer than 2 hours ! He will be trying toast soldiers, broccoli, banana and yoghurt with a spoon first and we wil see how he goes. We were just verg chilled out about it, let them mess withthe food and if they dont want it it doesnt matter. We hand the loaded spoon but P had to put itin her mouth herself.

engels i wouldnt worry about toilet training P has beentrained since Novemver and now keep pooing in her pants :(

strawberrypenguin · 12/05/2014 16:42

Your holiday sounds fab tallulah
glad you had a good time

Hope the flight goes ok pen

Can't believe M is nearly 6mo chesh that's gone really fast!

W is definitely acting out the terrible 2's at the moment, he's whinney, lashing out and stropping like trouper! Everything seems to be a negotiation at the moment (I think he may have just had a hormone surge) then in the middle of being a nightmare he'll do stuff like come and hug me randomly and say he loves me. Toddlers!

CallingAllEngels · 18/05/2014 10:08

Ah, bliss.....we seem to have cracked sleep! Nine nights of no toddler in the bed. This morning he wandered in at 7.45 and I put him back in his own room with the curtains open and a stack of books and he was reading happily to himself for another hour.

I could get used to this!

But yy to tantrums strawb !

8w today and feeling good. Early scan tomorrow night so fx.

KillashandraRee · 19/05/2014 07:15

Good luck for your scan tonight Engels!

Any tips on how you cracked toddler sleep appreciated, E had decided that 7pm is now too early for bed and isn't going to sleep until 9/10pm he just plays in his room. Still awake around 6am though so I'm worried he's not getting enough sleep.

In other news I am still pg no baby yet and I'm fed up, huge and cannot face potentially another two weeks of this! Not due until Wednesday but I am so ready for this LO it's untrue so any tips on how to get labour started much appreciated Wink

CallingAllEngels · 19/05/2014 08:50

M goes to sleep fibe now at 7pm after story, though in Nov and Dec it wasn't happening so we had to gradually move away - on bed, on chair, at end of bed, by door, outside door. The last few months I can just say goodnight, shut the door and go downstairs.

Our prob since October has been nightly waking and not going back to own bed. We've tried the softly softly approach, not talking, soothing him, bribery...but he also snuck back in. This time we got angry with him. Told hij very sternly at 2am that he was naughty, mama and papa are cross, put him b ack in bed j u st like we'd put him on the stairs during the day. He sat and wailed for a bit but didn't dare get back out of bed. Did in for about a week and (fx) has done the trick. He hasn't been in before 6.20 the last 10 days (and on work days we're up at 6.30).

Poor you, especially with the heat wave. Hope baby makes an appearance soon!

m was in fine fettle yesterday in public. Had about a million tantrums, fell hard onto paving and bit lip bumping his mouth on table, and got scratched on face next to his eye by a very young puppy (he was on his hands and knees pretending to be a dog....but who lets a scratchy bitey untrained puppy wander round with lots of tiny children about?). Another excellent tantrum at home because I tipped away the paddling pool water (that he proudly peed in). Ah, toddlers.

ipswichwitch · 19/05/2014 09:13

Hi everyone!! Hope you're all well. Can't believe D is 5mo now - where did the time go? The boys are doing great. N still loves being big brother - he's very protective which is sweet, and will shove me out the way to get a cuddle with D!

N is going in this morning to have tonsils and adenoids out. Finally! The consultant says we should have a massive improvement in his sleep and the apnoea resolved so fingers x it works.

D is a wonderfully happy smiley little boy, such an easy baby compared to N. It helps to be organised and get out every day killa, even if it's just to the local park. I've relaxed my housework standards and go with the flow a bit more. There have been tough days - N having tantrums or D teething like crazy and feeding awkwardly, but on the whole it's great :)

CallingAllEngels · 19/05/2014 21:03

Hope tonsils op went well ips

Good scan - strong heartbeat and measured excatly 8w so edd 29th Dec.

Of course ds had trouble going to bed and woke up while we were gone, so was downstairs with mil when we got back!

KillashandraRee · 19/05/2014 22:01

Engels that's great news Grin

Hope op goes well Ipswitch nice to 'see' you Smile

TallulahPumpkin · 19/05/2014 22:21

Pen Sorry didn't see this before. Hope you managed to entertain on the plane (I'm a poet and I didn't know it Wink). Lovely long distance planes show Peppa Pig Blush. Also lots of circuits round the plane.

Chesh how did M's eating go?

Engles Go sleep! and congrats at 8wk scan.

Loving the toddler tamtrun descriptions; Seb's in fine company!!

strawberrypenguin · 19/05/2014 22:42

Yay eng that's great Grin

How did N's op go ips hope it was nice and straight forward and he's not feeling too bad afterwards

ipswichwitch · 20/05/2014 20:59

Congrats Engels that's great news. Another Christmassy baby eh!

N's surgery went really well. He was so good and only freaked out when the sedation started to wear off just before they have the anaesthetic and again in recovery. DH stayed overnight with him and he came home this morning. We can already hear the difference in his breathing and that's with the post op swelling so should be even better once he's recovered. Have to keep him away from crowds/nursery/soft play an people with colds for 10 days so unless the weathers nice we could be climbing the walls in a few days!

CallingAllEngels · 20/05/2014 21:15

M was exactly the same ips, went nuts when the anaesthetic wore off and was trying to rip his line out of his hand. Glad he's on the mend.

boiling here...phew. proper mini heatwave but wondering if we'll have storms tonight.

CheshireDing · 21/05/2014 12:49

Strawberry we have mass whineing too (not sure if that's how you spell it), the other day P was just wondering up and down the hallway whining for no reason. I have had to say to her quite a few times recently "just stop the noise/whineing" :(

Very jealous of your lie in on Sunday Engels and very excited for your Christmas Baby. Does everyone in the Family/Friends know now? How is DH about it, chilled out ? Your stories about M do make me laugh (sorry not very helpful/supportive)

Killa is it still in there? If so have you tried the Raspberry Leaf Tea Bags and Tablets and pineapples and some floor scrubbing? Grin worked for me with P and M they were both early.

My housework standards are now very low - I recommend a RobotVac for Aldi - I only vac the stairs now (I don't dust anyway - lazy)

Tallulah so far M has had broccoli, peppers, yoghurt, bread, toast, pear, apple, banana, orange, spaghetti, tomato, humous, cheese, boiled egg, nothing in the nappy yet so he is either storing it up or he is just mauling it rather than actually eating it (which is probably the case). Def harder when it's the second one though, with P we could watch her like a hawk, now we only notice when M starts coughing, poor guy Grin

Glad everything went okay with N's op Ips. Amazing you can hear an improvement already, fab !

KillashandraRee · 22/05/2014 12:37

Great news on op Ipswitch Grin

Baby is definitely still in there Cheshire, am 40+1 and waiting impatiently eating French fancies am going to try scrubbing kitchen floor in hopes it will start something off. It's that or sex Shock

Midwife couldn't do sweep today as head isn't engaged so just need to wait and see how late this one is going to be now hopefully not as late as E was I cant cope with another week!

CheshireDing · 22/05/2014 18:15

How big is number 2 likely to be if he/she doesnt turn up soonkilla Shock sending baby eviction vibes Grin

KillashandraRee · 22/05/2014 18:38

I know Shock E was 8,10 and they say second is normally bigger....

Think I have had a show this afternoon so hoping that means it's imminent......

ipswichwitch · 23/05/2014 08:54

Ooh let's hope LO is on the way then Killa
Fingers x

CallingAllEngels · 23/05/2014 10:21

Fx killa

cheshire I'm glad to amuse you Grin

TallulahPumpkin · 23/05/2014 21:39

Come on babyKilla (erm, that sounds completely wrong!) Hmm

Seb's discovered blowing raspberries on skin and spent about 5 mins blowing them on my neck/shoulder when I was trying to dry him after his bath tonight. I couldn't stop him as I was laughing so hard Grin.

He's also a hugh Frozen fan now. Three times in a week already. But he assures me it's not overtaken Cars as his favourite film. So that's OK then!
