W likes Frozen too tallulah although I think it's the songs he likes as he normally gets me to skip to them! He loves Shrek too (its the only film he's seen all the way through) and bits of Tangled but gets quite scared at the darker bits and asks me to make it go away. He loves the scene when they're on the boat with all the lanterns though. Despite the 'scary' bits he still asks for them though.

CallingAllEngels · 25/05/2014 10:59

DS 's TV and films of choice are Bambi, Dumbo, Cars (known as Race Cars in our house!), Scooby Doo, the Gruffalo and occasionally Frozen.

He drove me crazy yesterday, some ridiculous tantrums again at stupid things (nappy changes, shoes on, shoes off, going outside, coming inside, not playing with toys, cue me putting his toys away and floods of tears, getting in the shower, me turning the shower off). Aaargh! Was just about ready to screM! And if he had called 'Mama' onemore time! Phew! He made up for it by sleeping through till 6.15, then crawling in with us for an hour and a half so we didn't have to get up till 8.

9 weeks today and feeling good!

KillashandraRee · 26/05/2014 21:50

Am finally home after hospital stay, DS2 (Jonah) is absolutely gorgeous but made a hell of an entrance into the world naughty boy!

E is very excited although possibly more about the presents he's getting at the moment.

I am battered, bruised and sleep deprived after 48hrs with minimal sleep and lots of intervention at the end but it was all worth it Smile.

TallulahPumpkin · 26/05/2014 22:20

Yey, well done Killa, congratulations Thanks. Can't wait to hear the story - you can't say that and then not tell us Grin. Get a bit of sleep first though...and a big slice of Cake

ipswichwitch · 26/05/2014 22:23

Congratulations Killa Flowers
Hope you get plenty of rest now (as much as 2 DS's will allow!) and enjoy those lovely newborn snuggles

CheshireDing · 26/05/2014 22:27

Awww loving his name killa, does he have a middle name too ?

Congratulations Flowers looking forward to the story (better be gentle as there are still some babies to come yet) Grin

strawberrypenguin · 26/05/2014 23:13

Congrats killa lovely name Smile hope you are on the mend quickly Thanks

CallingAllEngels · 27/05/2014 17:45

Congratulations killa !

KillashandraRee · 28/05/2014 06:40

Thanks all Thanks

If you really want to hear about birth I'll try and keep it short and apologies MrsH and Engels but I am clearly just crap at giving birth Blush

Due date last Wednesday. Crux started Friday early am, built up to quite regular then everything stopped around 6am. Spoke to hospital as thought my waters might be leaking, they said no just discharge (sorry!) Odd ctx in day but no pattern then from 4pm started again and built from every half hr to every 10 mins. Ctx then slowed down again. Called hospital as again thought waters gone as pink fluid, they said to head in to get checked even though ctx not at 5mins yet.

Went to hospital at 2am they confirmed waters had gone but ctx had stopped in car and had only had two in last hr. Had 3 close together while in exam room so they sent us up to ward to wait in room for them to build. Told would have to be induced 24hrs after waters broke if baby not out.

Waited in room all day, no ctx at all. Asked to be induced but told by very uninterested midwife (day shift) that labour ward wouldn't as too busy. No monitoring of baby after initial entry (Angry).

Night shift came back (midwife who admitted us surprised we were still there) she monitored baby as soon as arrived. We asked again if we could start induction earlier and she said no problem! Pessary put in at nine pm. Ctx started again quite quickly and Stage 2 labour established by 11pm. Bloody painful, baby was OP position and ctx really strong. On labour ward given g&a and 5ml pethadine. Only 4cm dilated and ctx not regular. By this point is had 4 hrs sleep since Thursday night and was shattered.

Senior midwife suggested epidural which was done and we settled down for long wait (same happened with E who was OP and my ctx never regulated so we knew it could be long haul).

6am checked and only 4 possibly 5 cm dilated but baby happy and all ok, then suddenly heart rate dropped low twice. They put a clip on head (still 5cm dilated) and we watched heart rate drop from 140bpm to 47. Consultant called for emcs and we were rushed to theatre. Suddenly 11 people all round, transferred across bed and they check heart rate which was back at 140bpm. Consultant decided to take blood from baby to check if needed emcs or whether whatever causing distress had been moved during transfer. She discovered that I was fully dilated and head down so got ventouse and we pushed/pulled him out. He was taken by paediatric to be checked. I then had placenta stuck so after an hour of trying various things they had to physically remove it (bloody horrific) and then I finally got to see/ skin to skin/ feed my baby.

We had to stay in for observations for 24hrs as "you delivered 24hrs after your waters broke".

(I cannot figure out if there are risks to baby who isn't born within 24hrs if waters breaking, why the policy is to only start induction 24hrs after waters break...?)

We are home and fine now, I've for various antibiotics, injections and painkillers to take and feel very batttered and bruised but so thankful to have Jonah home safe.

Everyone at hospital was amazing except for this day midwife. It was very scary for a while and according to my notes it took me 8 mind to go from 5-10cm dilated (I think the shock!)

KillashandraRee · 28/05/2014 06:41

Oh my god that's so long I'm sorry...!

PenelopeLane · 28/05/2014 11:10

Congrats Killa and hope you heal soon. It must have been hard to say the least. Jonah is a lovely name too Smile

We watched Frozen recently although A was scared by the Snow Monster. The other movie we've watched is Lion King except the sad bits which he really liked but I've not let him watch again since he had a nightmare about hyenas. He's so scared by so much now! Not in an inhibiting way, just a bit of an active imagination.

We have recently had a lovely holiday to Samoa Grin It was great, I was a tad worried about how it would be with 2 kids, but I had a fantastic time, as did the rest of the family as well. Turns out resort holidays are the way to go for us for the medium term! I'd love to go away again this year, but don't see it happening as going back to work in Sept Sad

MummyDuckAndDuckling · 28/05/2014 21:18

Hello all! Had to reset password from ages ago and never got round to it!

Huge congratulations killa lovely name and glad you are both home safe and well, if not a little battered and bruised!!
Glad to see little bean is sticking too engels!

All good with us. Still working away and endless fun with S. Reading about the tantrums from the other toddlers, I can confirm it does pass! We just seems to be getting passed the really bad tantrums. Seems her speech has taken another huge leap so don't know if it was down to frustration too. She is a very independent (and stubborn) little girl who I think believes is older than what she thinks!

We had a rough month end of April into May. She seemed to be very unwell on and off with sickness and back to accidents through the night after being dry during night for a month or so. Then it was a fight to get her to use the toilet, not wetting herself as such but holding it till she was bursting! After a trip to doctor and waiting a week for test results (due to gp not testing there and then!) it was discovered she had a really bad uti! Explains why she had been so ill and just generally miserable, she was probably in agony! Onto antibiotics but after the week was finished she was still crying in pain whe using toilet so had to take her back to OOH to get more AB's. The GP did phone me when her results came back to say that as it had potentially been left untreated for 3 weeks that she would have to go to the hospital to have her kidneys and buffer scanned to check for no damage/scarring. I felt truly awful for her that she had been suffering for so long! It only really became aparent to me when she just couldn't sit still like she had ants in her pants. I figured it was either thrush or uti but I'm annoyed the doctor we saw wouldn't test there but rather sent it away. Delayed the AB's for another week. Still waiting on her apt coming through but hopefully not be much longer!

Right I need a cup of tea. Hope everyone is well and will be back posting more often! :)

Hey dick good to 'see' you Smile poor S that sounds horrible, is it an ultrasound she'll need to have? Kidney ones are pretty straight forward (W has a yearly one) , they scan from the front and then get then to roll over so they can scan from the back/side as well. They don't normally take long. Can't believe the GP didn't just test though I'm sure they can just do a dip test in the surgery and then send off if unclear (although luckily W has never had a UTI)

Gosh killa it must have been scary watching his heart rate drop like that. Glad everything was ok, hope your getting a relatively good amount of sleep.

strawberrypenguin · 28/05/2014 23:27

Ahem duck sorry Blush that's what I get for typing on my phone while in bed!

strawberrypenguin · 03/06/2014 10:25

W says the funniest things to me sometimes, went to get him out of bed this morning and I still had my hair down (I usually wear it in a pony tail) he looked at me and said 'put your hair back' we had a bit of a chat and I tied it up and he gave me the biggest smile and said 'that's better, now you're mummy'
Funny how their little minds work sometimes!

KillashandraRee · 03/06/2014 14:54

Aw Strawberry that's so cute.

I often wonder where E picks things up from, he told me he was doing his exercises to make him strong the other night as he bobbed up and down - he certainly didn't learn that from me Wink

PenelopeLane · 04/06/2014 01:17

That's so cute! When I wear my hair tied up in a bun, A calls it my "hair hat" Grin

TallulahPumpkin · 10/06/2014 21:13

Quiet thread this week....

Seb can get the milk out the fridge; he gets a cup out, gets the milk out puts it all on the worktop and then comes to get me to pour it out. So sweet. He does love his milk. Grin

Straw Love it.

CallingAllEngels · 10/06/2014 21:21

Aargh...so hot and humid here since Friday. M back to waking up and strops at 4am. Massive thunderstom at 5 this morning as well.

11 w and had good scan on Friday. Due date is 28th Dec! Heading back to UK for a weekend with my DM. DF and DB are away so will be just us with M and my Dsis will pop in. Giving DH the gift of 4 nights uninterrupted sleep but he's still being a martyr about it. Good lord, if someone gave me the gift of 4 child free days I'd be in heaven!

the other day I said to M, "Do you like your dinner?" And he replied "I'd like a dessert!" Cheeky little bugger!

strawberrypenguin · 16/06/2014 16:32

Is anyone else's DC still in nappies? We tried W in pants this weekend thinking he was ready as he does know when he needs the toilet he just doesn't say. I expected him to get wet a few times, hate it and get the idea but he didn't do one wee in the potty all weekend despite sitting on it regularly. He's now back in nappies! Have come to the conclusion that he's just not ready yet, guess we'll have to try again in a couple of weeks! He looks like he's getting to big for nappies though iykwim, bit I guess he'll get it in his own time.

Hope everyone had a nice sunny weekend Smile

CallingAllEngels · 16/06/2014 17:09

M is still in nappies. Going to have a crack at potty training in summer holiday.

TallulahPumpkin · 16/06/2014 21:22

Seb still in nappies. It's a bit hit and miss about knowing when he needs to go.

CallingAllEngels · 16/06/2014 21:41

M will actually deny doing a poo. At the moment anything that has taken place in the potty has been total chance!

mrsh not heard from you for a while - how are you getting on?

quiet thread this week, month, year! Only on 18 pages! We2'd better get a move on - Duck'll be making a new thread for 3rd birthdays before you know it Grin

CheshireDing · 16/06/2014 22:09

Was ok until i got to the bit about the placenta killa, wanted to cross my legs then ! Are you having a third the. ? ;)

DH has been away this weekend,P was randomly sick all over the bathroom Friday night and M is a rubbish sleeper. Too knackered to write anything interestjng, sorry :(

CallingAllEngels · 17/06/2014 18:29

Sounds like hard work chesh .

I took M to UK this weekend to spend some time with my dm and dsis. DH got the whole weekend to himself, no 6am wake up calls and the bugger was really soppy when I got back and said he hates being on his own .Still, I suppose this means he appreciates me!
