Did you have the sausages Stunt or just realise there was egg in them? I guess it's a binding agent.

L was awake for 1.5hrs in the night. Didn't seem to be in discomfort but was just unable to sleep and wanted to be held. Hope it wasn't the omelette Sad

Passmethecrisps · 15/09/2013 12:19

We have no power. Sod it.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 15/09/2013 12:35

Thanks for the welcome back Smile Smile

Very pleased to read that stuntsJames is sleeping through! This is very promising! I've scrolled back and read your post. I mean going to have a look at that site and see if we can attempt anything with our James. I'm sure that he is no longer in pain at night and that it's simply a learned behaviour of waking.

pass no power and wet work clothes doesn't sound good! Sad Sad

Kirrin · 15/09/2013 13:04

well done J - thats brilliant :) stunt You must feel like a new woman.

glad you had a good holiday izzy - but sorry the sleep was so shit.

i love your typos sophia Grin or should that be [grint] Your posts wouldn't be the same without them and sometimes its the only exercise my brain gets all day Grin

YellowWellies · 15/09/2013 13:45

JJ our paed reckons sleeplessness is a symptom of CMPI (and other food intolerances) but at the milder end of the spectrum of intolerance responses - so its sounding to me like he's nearly growing out of it and to say that's a reaction from something he ate directly rather than through BM that's really encouraging!

Stunt really chuffed for you Smile .

MM the more bugs she has now the better for her immune system / and a massive reduction in the risk of autoimmune conditions and asthma, eczema etc. So don't beat yourself up. Jonas got whammed by every bug going when we moved off the island and began spending our days with his cousins. I figure its better now than he get floored at nursery?

Newborn cuddles at 2.30 whoop! Smile

Passmethecrisps · 15/09/2013 13:48

Power back on. Thank goodness! No child needs to see me sans clothes!

P is mad for fruit. It's costing me a fortune!

StuntNun · 15/09/2013 14:23

JJ I couldn't understand why J was still having symptoms when I had cut out egg so I was wondering whether he had another intolerance I didn't know about. I can't remember when I last had sausages but they were from the butcher so I have no idea whether they had egg in or not. If I tell DS2 we aren't having sausages again there'll be a riot!

Izzy I think that once the reflux / intolerances had been resolved, our sleep issues were half down to habit and half due to the way we were putting him down to sleep. I've just done controlled crying with J for his afternoon nap and it only took fifteen minutes before he went to sleep by himself. Not fifteen minutes of crying you understand, there were a couple of minutes of loud crying and periods of silence with the occasional cry.

That's really good to know YW, will keep monitoring things and see how we get on.

Stunt that is such a pain, it is amazing how many things have egg/milk/soya etc in when they are such common allergies & intolerances. Hopefully you can find some non-egg ones that are acceptable to DS2!

Walk up in the cornfields at the top of the village followed by apple and hazlenut picking in the garden. The apples are gross, am not sure whether to chuck them out or not. And I don't have a nutcracker, so I have to buy one to eat all my hazlenuts. Didn't go to the forest to get wood, which was stupid of me to forget. Hopefully next weekend the wether won't be too bad.

There was a north wind at the top of the village and I could smell the sea. I miss the sea, it's four hours drive away :( was able to close my eyes and imagine it though.

PurplePidjin · 15/09/2013 19:10

Fab day. Absolutely shattered and in bed watching tv with leftover asti Wine

Highlights include:
Friend's dd toddling up the aisle to tell me "Nini go wee wee" (she's potty training)
R starting a cold and doing a massive sneeze so i nearly miss our cue trying to wipe snot off the whole of his face
Severely autistic 8yo dn being the best behaved child there
The cake: baked by mil, iced by me, decorated by my Aunt. The one that lives in America.
Friends leaving at 5:30am because their hotels fell through.
Card from MIL saying how glad she is that we're having R christened and giving him solid morals :)

GingerBeerAndTinnedPeaches · 15/09/2013 19:31

Sounds lovely pidj

DH wants our two baptised. I'm a bit uncertain about it.

ChasingDaisy · 15/09/2013 19:32

pidj that really made me smile. You deserved that day Smile

PurplePidjin · 15/09/2013 19:39

We basically promised to bring him up "right" and then had a party. Twas vair chilled, tea/coffee and biscuits immediately, sarnies/quiche/crisps/salad and wine/juice at lunchtime, bubbles and cake around 2ish. You can do a register office one too iirc?

ChasingDaisy · 15/09/2013 19:44

Tiring day here. I only managed about 3 hours sleep last night and I had a glass of wine at lunch which was a big mistake. Good day though. Went for sunday lunch with my parents, brother and aunt & uncle who had come down from Yorkshire. Oscar had hardly any nap time all day but ate his sunday lunch like a pro and survived pass the baby without so much as a whimper. He loved my brother too which was lovely as I don't get to see him very often. He has a cool new trick too, he holds his hand out for you to give him a high five Smile He looked quite disappointed when the door didn't respond to his request Grin. I have been doing high fives with him since he was born and it is our little thing so I love that he has started doing it spontaneously.

Lily311 · 15/09/2013 19:53

pidj must have been a lovely day. O won't be baptised for now, she can be later if she wants to be.

Tiring day here too, my sister came with her 3 kids for lunch to my parents so no resting for me. It was nice though.

chasing o showed up her new skills too, we played Humpty Dumpty all week and she fall at cue and shook her head at couldn't put Humpty together again. We did it over and over, was showing off.

She started to grind her teeth. It's so loud and annoying. What can I do to stop her doing it??

GTbaby · 15/09/2013 19:54

Bil said last night "you need to reach him no" as lo crawled towards tv "we didn't even have stair gates with our two, stop him now or he will get worse"

Oh so that's were we are going wrong? We don't stop him! Angry

Det I thought of O at this point. That's where you've been going wrong.

Hope you can all read the sarcastic tone of my post tonight.

GTbaby · 15/09/2013 20:03

Reach? I mean teach him.

ChasingDaisy · 15/09/2013 20:12

Lily we have the teeth grinding here too. I hate it!

Passmethecrisps · 15/09/2013 20:15

Evening.

What a lovely day pidj. Enjoy the Wine

Sounds like you are feeling a bit better today *chasing]? Has the tosser been well and truly exorcised?

Chuffing knackered. I have cooked for what feels like all day. Fish pie, lamb and apricot tagine and corned beef hash. The only one we get to share is the corned beef hash. All the rest has been bagged and frozen.

Passmethecrisps · 15/09/2013 20:16

P has no teeth to grind! Grin

I am very impressed with the high 5ing and the Humpty Dumptying. Nothing the like happening here.

YellowWellies · 15/09/2013 20:20

GT cuddling my newborn niece today and watching the bear dashing round trying to trash their house and / or do himself an injury made me v glad you'll have lots of family around to help and with a childcare expert such as BIL in the family you're in luck! Wink Envy

Newborn was v lovely but seemed so teeny at 8lb 6oz - like a sweet smelling, soft skinned, squeaky beanbag - so helpless compared to our wee ones. Can't believe J was over 2lb lighter he must have been so dotty! Was v lovely but reminded me why we're getting a puppy and delaying baby making until we see how we cope / how much of a wee shite the bear is as a toddler! He is already a keen electrician Hmm Confused .

PP sounds like a lovely day Smile . As one of us is a pagan and the other a committed Darwinist there'll be no christening here unless he chooses to when he's older but I still really appreciate the sentiment of a christening Smile . My mad (but lovely) fundamentalist Catholic nan is now too senile to press the issue but my sister got a lot of hassle for not christening her kids. This is the same Nan who did a secret DIY christening of me and my twin sister when our parents explained they wanted to leave the choice to us!

Sophia hope the flight was OK?

ChasingDaisy · 15/09/2013 20:29

YW Grin at secret christening. I am quite anti-religion so won't be doing anything like that for O but I will completely respect his right to his own religious beliefs as he grows older.

YellowWellies · 15/09/2013 20:41

Pass we have hi-fiving since Friday but it's all swings and roundabouts - I can't see him walking for months. They all focus on their own preferred superpowers!

Izzy lovely to see you back.

Passmethecrisps · 15/09/2013 20:42

Grin p's preferred superpower is taking tiny steps and singin along to one direction. I don't know how it happened but she appears to have the musical taste of a tweenager

PurplePidjin · 15/09/2013 20:43

Shock @ secret baptism. Kitchen sink job?

Dp and i discussed sneaking a wedding in but decided our mums would be disappointed not to get to plan something
