Wow that's going to be one very pleased person who buys it as I'm sure they won't have it on for what it's worth- although considering it's for charity they should.

5 years post wedding I've been trying to sell my wedding dress on preloved but not had much luck.

With ergo has anyone had older dc that not keen on it? Dd loves it front carry though as she's still tiny (in 3-6 months clothes still!!) but 2yr old ds refused again to go in it (on back)-total meltdown saying he was scared. Thing is even though he's been walking since 10 months he still likes to be carried when gets tired or just when fancies a cuddle. Dh can put him on his shoulders but he's just too big & me too small to do it.

Love the expression 9 month cling- so true. Dd will at the moment refuse to go to anybody else if I'm an option & will crawl around following me everywhere till I stop when she proceeds to cling onto my leg and climb!

WLmum · 07/09/2013 22:31

Yep, I made several attempts to sell my dress and I only had person msg me about a viewing which never materialised. Decided to donate it as I need the space and if it ends up moth eaten or discoloured with age etc then no-one gets any benefit.
Your dd is tiny compared to my hunk of loveliness - 21ish lbs and in 9-12 month stuff. Just shows that they come in all shapes and sizes.
I tried dd2 (3.5) in the ergo at home and she loved it. I was curious as to how heavy she would feel - she's within the weight range but I wouldn't fancy it for long. I'm sure I couldn't manage her on my shoulders. Does your ds like a piggy back or only shoulders? Maybe DH could try getting him used to piggy back for a bit. Is it because he thinks you're not holding onto him?

ISpyPlumPie · 07/09/2013 22:43

Yay to crawling Spotty.

Sounds like you've got your hands full 3boys but wow, what a change in two weeks.

Think it's lovely that you've donated your dress WL. DM has mine stored away together with hers and DGMs. We thought having the three generations would make a nice collection. Doesn't look like I'll have a DD to add her dress to it, but who knows one of the DSs might be interested in fashion or something.

We've had a real breakthrough today. I was doing an all day voluntary thing, and we'd arranged that DH would look after the DC and bring N along if he needed boob. He managed the whole event without, and settled fine for his nap. Think he transferred his clinginess to DH, but shows it isn't specific to me. I was out of the house from 8.00 am until 5.00 pm. So proud of him. Also far less stressed about going back to work now.

lazzaroo · 08/09/2013 06:13

Morning. Hope some good sleeping has been going on. Not so here unfortunately. And I'm totally fed up with it. Baby lazza woke twice last night but each time for over an hour. She's gone back to sleep now but on dh. He goes away tomorrow for the week and I'm not sure how I'm going to do it!

Sorry, that's a whingey start to the day!

Baby lazza is getting around so quickly now and also keen to be on her feet.

That's good Ispy. I felt the same this week when I was away 7-4 and everyone survived.....although admittedly she was pretty pleased to see me by 4! I won't need to be away that long again.

lazzaroo · 08/09/2013 07:55

Anyone tried their little ones with pate? Is it ok at this age or still to be avoided?

WLmum · 08/09/2013 08:09

That's nice ispy it will be a fashion find in the future! I've got the longest marriage in the history of my family so there were no other dressed around!
Glad everyone survived with you away for the day. I'm getting better at realising that everyone is ok without me for a bit and its ok not to do everything exactly my way!

Boo to poor sleep lazza. T was up for a quick feed once but dd2 was up 3 times! I fed T from 5.45 til 6.40 in our bed, I guess there was a bit of dozing, then DH took her for an hour.
No idea about pâté I'm afraid.

utopian99 · 08/09/2013 08:17

I've read that pate is best avoided till 1yo due to very high levels of vitamin a (cause it's made from liver.)

Sorry to hear about poor sleep. We had a Day of Many Doses while teeth moved some more, but might be out of the woods on nights as he then slept 8-4.15!

IsThatTrue · 08/09/2013 08:55

He woke 10.30 (just after I'd got to sleep), 12, 2, 3, 4, 5 and I brought him into our bed as I was done in and needed to lay down.

Tired is an understatement!

WLmum · 08/09/2013 09:26

Poor you isthat that is extreme! Do you ever get a chance to rest? Your well being is important.

MaMaPo · 08/09/2013 10:19

Hi all - can't keep up with you at the moment. Brew for the sleepless ones. Isthat, that sounds like a tough night.

ISpy, well done with your breakthrough! I still haven't been apart from C for more than 3-4 hours. She's not bad using a sippy cup now, especially the free one from the HVs which we stupidly left at our friends' in Copenhagen! I was thinking of trying her on some milk in the cup during the day and seeing if my husband can manage her. It's not at all crucial as we'll all 3 of us be travelling for 5 weeks. I have a bottle of formula in the pantry that I bought when C was about 8 weeks old, but I still haven't used it. Maybe I'll give it a try.

Not sure if I mentioned it but I think we have had chicken pox! C came down with some spots about 3 weeks ago, on a Sunday right before we were going on holiday. I spoke to a nurse on NHS direct and saw a pharmacist, both of whom thought it was just a viral reaction as she wasn't at all unwell. Anyway, we saw the GP for her 8 month check (though she's 9 months) and the spots haven't yet gone, although they're faded. And the GP thinks she's had a mild case of the chicken pox! I hope so and that she's now immune, as she didn't scratch or have any bother. They vaccinate for chicken pox in Australia so either way she'll have to have a blood test to check immunity status.

Anyone else's baby started waving? C has just worked it out and it's adorable. Last night we had friends over, and it was a funny evening, and she started social laughing too - laughing just because we were. So delightful. She's a really social little creature.

PrunellaDeVille · 08/09/2013 11:46

hi, sorry been awol.

isthat really feel for you with your tough nights, is it teething waking him? or is this usual?

feeling v PFB - i've got a poorly baby today. i don't let it get to me if i know what's up - he's had plenty of colds but this is quite upsetting for both of us.
earlier in the week he had his first ever fever out of the blue and for no apparent reason, it went away by morning with calpol and co-sleeping. now today he's vomitted loads, really curdled, not like the vomit he used to do regularly.
he's realy upset and howls with distress if i put him down for an instant.
i think he's teething though no sign of teeth yet (lots of ear pulling). and he hasn't pooed since tuesday morning!
any ideas what it might be/what i should do?
he won't take anything except breastmilk - i keep trying to get water into him but no chance Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 08/09/2013 13:33

Mama if they get it before a year chances are they'll get it again especially if it was a mild case. I've had it twice.

Ds is refusing to feed today just grins at me every time I try Hmm hopefully he will have a feed later on!

MaMaPo · 08/09/2013 16:15

I've had it twice too spotty - ages 3 and 10! Horrible.

Prunella, sounds awful. I'd keep in bfing as much as possible, don't worry too much about water if trying to et it in is tough.

ISpyPlumPie · 08/09/2013 17:59

Aw poor thing Prunella - hope he's better soon. I'd agree with keeping on feeding as much as possible. Maybe GP if he's no better tomorrow/gets worse tonight.

Mama - glad C hardly noticed she'd had chicken pox. Fx that it is over and done with for her now, though I have heard the same as Spotty about the likelihood of them getting it again if they're under one.

Isthat - think you are the deserving recipient of today's sleepy dust.

Had a lovely afternoon. Met up with my NCT group from when I had DS1, so it's now four years since we met. We now each have two DCs of the same gender. Was a not entirely successful mission trying to get all ten of them in the same photo, but they all had a great time.

SpottyTeacakes · 08/09/2013 18:05

Oh pru I missed your post Sad I think I would be ringing gp tomorrow or HV for advice. Hope he's feeling better.

IsThat I don't know how you keep going Brew

lazzaroo · 08/09/2013 18:09

Evening. Been away from baby lazza for a while today (did a sponsored walk....4 miles....feet aching!). she was pleased to see me again but didn't take much milk. Nice to know she's missing me not just my boobs!! Wink

The rash on her chest is getting worse though. It's spread and is really red. Am wondering if it could be ezcma? Think a trip to GP's is needed to check it out Sad

Isthat fingers crossed for good nights sleep tonight

mama we're getting random arm flapping....which I like to claim as waving!

prunella hope your little one is feeling better

Thanks for pate advice utopian Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 08/09/2013 18:13

Well done on the walk lazza!

I put on the r&r earlier, dp was the last to wear it, and the waist clip fitted perfectly HmmSad

WLmum · 08/09/2013 20:32

spotty maybe your DH is very slim?

We had a lovely day at Legoland, the ergo was great and I even managed a quick breast feed with her in it! I did have to use one hand to shove my boob up and had loosened the straps so she sat a bit lower but it meant I could feed her in a queue which was super useful.
Dd2 even warmed up and went on a few rides.
Everyone is exhausted now.

lazzaroo · 08/09/2013 20:38

WL that's good to know. We've got free tickets to lego and in a couple of weeks Smile looking forward to it.

WLmum · 08/09/2013 20:39

mama glad C wasn't too poorly. Dd2 had the pox army about 8 months (caught from pre-schooling dd1) and was so poorly I ended up at the walk in with her on Xmas day. My brothers partner is a gp and said it was the worst case he'd ever seen Sad. Thank god I was still bfing as she couldn't tolerate anything else in her mouth due to the spots all around her mouth. She was so hot poor lamb we co-slept with her in just a sleeveless vest and no covers and I could feel the heat radiating off her. Poor thing always gets everything badly - dr said its because her immune system is constantly under fire from her ezcema.

lazzaroo · 08/09/2013 20:39

Oops, Legoland Blush

WLmum · 08/09/2013 20:39

Pox army?! The pox when she was...

SpottyTeacakes · 08/09/2013 20:43

Grin At pox army

WLmum · 08/09/2013 20:43

lazza my top tip would be to use the baby change in the bricks resto - it was not busy, nice and clean and had a great mobile above the change station. It's near the Atlantis ride which is like a submarine thing with fish and sharks swimming about so great for the babes. We had 2 free tickets from the sun and did tesco points for the other 2. The only money we spent was 1 cup of tea so I could bf inside and the car park Grin.

utopian99 · 08/09/2013 21:18

lazza O had a rash on his neck a few weeks back that the doctor thought was excema that had got infected. If the red areas are quite sharply outlined it could be fungal, apparently. Definitely worth a trip to a doctor though, as they could prescribe an anti-fungal or anti-bac cream?

His new teeth are coming into their own today; ate his entire portion of our roast dinner (aside from courgette skin Hmm) and came back for more.

In other news I have taught myself to make a croquembouche for his naming ceremony next weekend. Great fun!
