New thread for us ladies. :-)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

def ask again hh. if not, it may be worth looking for a private physio, and one who specializes in post natal. it might be worth the cost for a couple of sessions to get the exercises and info and then see how it goes. good private physios should be able to help you out and not need you for loads of sessions.

hope the chomping has stopped! still have random crying out here. and stupidly finding it really hard to get to sleep even tho I am exhausted.

off to look at ponchos

Olimoss · 08/09/2013 06:33

Rreow and Sarah - after 16th, I think, give me a chance to get over the jet lag! We are off to Morocco for a week as of 30 Oct so maybe before then?

SunnyL · 08/09/2013 08:55

There are downsides to babies sleeping well at night. Felt like my boobs were going to explode this morning. Think we might be coming out of the black hole that is the 12 week growth spurt. She was MUCH better yesterday.

Tonight we're having dinner in Edinburgh castle. We should both dress up as Princesses if princesses wear pjs and a sleeping bag

HungryHorace · 08/09/2013 09:43

Ah, pink, I struggle to sleep too. DH drops off instantly and then snores next to me. Grrrr!

And the chomping did stop and we got almost 3 more hours' sleep before the next feed. Shame she then decided to scream the house down instead of eating. Thankfully DH took her downstairs to deal with her to let me rest.

I think the teeth are really hurting her. We don't have the red cheeks yet, we do have slightly softer poo though. Does anybody else?

We start swimming tomorrow. I'm hoping she gets some really good sleep after this. Not at the expense of food though as she's still not eating as much as I'd like. Maybe that will change with the forthcoming growth spurt.

And I will ask again re physio. See what they say. I've found some You Tube videos with suitable exercises, so may have a go at those. It seems that pretty specific exercises are required for this problem. Not the standard post natal ones.

In other news, I've just had the shortest menstrual cycle in history of 18 days. Not very useful. :-/ Hopefully it'll go back to normal shortly.

Sunbeam18 · 08/09/2013 16:28

Is a 3-hour nap in the afternoon normal??

curlyclaz13 · 08/09/2013 16:32

sunbeam I am beginning to wonder if I will ever experience normal again ! they change so much that once you think you know them they change.

Littlemissexpecting · 09/09/2013 06:07

I'm not sure if its teeth or 12 week growth spurt but I'm exhausted. We have gone from sleeping 7-7 with maybe 1 feed, sometimes none, to up 3 to 4 times the last 4 nights. The only way to settle him is bottle then dummy.
I've checked nappy, not too cold, not too warm. May be calling on MiL later to see if she can look after ds for a couple of hrs so I can sleep!

pinkapples · 09/09/2013 06:52

We had that last week she'd done a week of 9-7 with no feeds then up loads and last night she went 9-6.45 with no feeds didn't put it down to spurt tho as she's only just 12 weeks maybe it was fingers crossed or it may have been the fact that last night I swaddled her tighter so she couldn't get out

SunnyL · 09/09/2013 09:38

Littlemiss I just saw you on the coppers wives thread. .

curlyclaz13 · 09/09/2013 12:38

Anyone done baby massage ? just had a letter confirming our place but it says only suitable up until they roll over ? Oscar rolled onto his front last week but isn't doing it much since and hasn't rolled all the way. Is it probably ok to go do you think ? I know people massage their babies for longer than when they can roll so how does that work Hmm

curiousgeorgie · 09/09/2013 12:51

Curly, I went to baby massage with both my DD's.. I think my oldest one could roll over and it was fine.

It's a really nice bonding thing but I can't say I still use anything they taught us.

rrreow · 09/09/2013 16:42

Is it possible for a baby to be too big for a bumbo seat? DS2 is 95th centile for weight and although I haven't had him measured he looks in proportion so I'm guessing about the same for height. When I put him in his bumbo (which admittedly is a non-brand one but it looks pretty much the same!), he kind of slumps over to the side as he sticks out so much from it, it doesn't really support his back. He's not really sitting IN it if that makes sense? It's annoying as he's really getting to that age (12.5 weeks) where he wants to be involved, but it's difficult when he's on his back all the time.

DS1 has started 5 days a week nursery this week he was doing 3 days before. It's nice to be able to get more work done but I do miss him being around and coming into my office and stuff.

Is anyone else incredibly cold with this change in weather? I had to change outfits earlier because I was just too cold! Good thing is though that I can wear my super comfy corduroy trousers again.

HungryHorace · 09/09/2013 17:00

I'm bloody freezing. I put the heating on for an hour earlier as it was only 15 degrees in the lounge! Brrrr.

I've been cold in bed too, though we went up to the autumn duvet last weekend. I wore socks all night last night so it must have been cold.

I'm beginning to think I'm actually having my first proper period now as it's heavier than I'm used to and bloody painful. The bleeding before was clearly a false start! :-/

DD's upper right teeth are feeling really sharp now. I hope they come through sooner rather than later as she's really suffering. :-(

Littlemissexpecting · 09/09/2013 19:22

Sunny yes I just spotted you on it! Lots in common as dh is pretty new to it too

Thesebootsweremadeforwalking · 09/09/2013 19:25

Hello, can I join late please? DD was a June baby, now 14 weeks.

Mrs81 · 09/09/2013 20:11

rrreow - maybe?? I tried ds in one recently but because we use real nappies (and his bum is gigantic as a result) he doesn't really fit. He looked quite ridiculous cause he's actually tiny in every other respect!

Today's been a duff day. Reflux (which had been much better since I went dairy free) has been rampant. He's been sick (and sore) after nearly every feed Sad I really hope tomorrow's better. I know its worse for him than for me, but it is exhausting. Blah.

Sorry for the moan.

Hope everyone else is okay and hello to theseboots... Smile

Mrs81 · 09/09/2013 20:12

Ps- yes HH, cold here too. I lit the fire last night!

SunnyL · 09/09/2013 21:53

Yup heating went on for an hour tonight though I think it's more that we were both tired rather than it being really cold.

I've been a one woman wonder machine today. Washing, changed beds, cleaned bathrooms, hoovered, dusted, baby swim lessons, ran 5k, made dinner. Hopefully I haven't set any expectations for other days!

Got our next set of injections tomorrow. Fingers crossed it makes her sleep as well as the last lot did! evil mummy

rrreow · 09/09/2013 22:54

Mrs81 it's probably that he's big combined with the nappies. They do add a lot of padding to the bum! I already have to boost every nappy because he out-wees them!

Sunny wow that's a lot of things to do in one day! Especially impressed by the running 5k that's amazing!

SunnyL · 10/09/2013 09:07

Intrigued about the bumble seat. I've inherited one but didn't know when I could use it. DD is also in fabric nappies so will check out today if she can fit it as she is a skinny bum.

HungryHorace · 10/09/2013 10:13

DD isn't too keen on her Bumbo-style seat. Maybe it'll grow on her!

We're going shopping today which should be interesting! It may not happen again in a hurry depending on how easy we find it!

Hawkmoth · 10/09/2013 13:14

Finally got first immunisations today. I won't be going as I've got another migraine. Woke up with a numb hand and face the slept with the baby for another four hours! Now I've got visual disturbance so not sure what's going on, but looking like a rubbish afternoon either way.

We've not got any kind of seat, but will probably use the high chair before she's weaning so that she can have a look at us at mealtimes.

SunnyL · 10/09/2013 14:53

Well we tried the bumbo seat (which amusingly iPad wants to call the bimbo seat) which worked for 5 minutes until she spotted her foot and wanted to eat it and promptly melted down cos she couldn't reach it. Slowly slowly methinks.

Steffanoid · 10/09/2013 16:37

We're going slow with the bumbo here due to head control still being a bit shaky my sisters little boy (25 weeks) loves his :)

Sarah2506 · 10/09/2013 17:52

Here the Bumbo isn't that popular yet. Too much slumping forward!

Have started house hunting in ernest. We want 4 bedrooms, a garden, in the catchment of a decent primary, within half a mile of tube in Barnet. And we'd like change from 450K. Estate Agent laughed at me. This is fucking RIDICULOUS. Will have to take a serious hit on one of those criteria!
